Twin Peaks or Northern Exposure
I'd like to live in Northern Exposure and visit Twin Peaks.
I'd be a regular at The Brick in Cicely, then visit Twin Peaks to fish with Pete and Andy.
Maybe share some pie with The Log Lady at the Double R.

I’m only at Season 3 but I need everyone to watch The Sopranos because you would think that one of the main shows that inspired Bojack Horseman would be a serious, gritty crime drama and don’t get me wrong, it is serious and genuinely a revelatory piece of television but at the same time a 13 year old discovers existentialism, people are seeing ghosts, literally basing their sources on dreams or trying to write a fucking film. Might be one of the funniest conceptual shows that completely works in practice.
Hell is an Irish Bar trapped in an eternal stasis of St Patrick’s Day.

Just watched the documentary on David Chase and the making of the Sopranos. It's remarkable documentary, and these are the bits I'm mulling over in my head.
Chase showing how he planned the story arc for each character every season using a manual (paper!) spreadsheet by making a grid and giving a line of the grid to each character, divided by vertical columns for each episode
Edie Falco talking about how important it is for the impact of the art to come without a trigger warning; the point is to be caught off guard and deal with the emotions that follow
The philosophical ending of the show by introducing resolution through irresolution, and how that draws the audience to re-engage with the show in search of an answer
The use of POV shots where Tony walks into his own POV, just like in 2001 👀 I did not notice that at the time at all...
I love documentaries like this because I learn so much, and every piece of the puzzle that creates a great work like The Sopranos is fascinating.
