sent a meme: our muses take a shower together to wash blood off each other. ( david & laurel ) ( 1 / 1 )
NORMAL PEOPLE would ask questions. but they weren’t normal people were they? they each had their own secrets, and despite burning with curiosity, she doesn’t ask questions. even when they ended up in the shower together, she doesn’t ask whose blood it was, or what he did. “were you hurt?” she asked as she turned on the shower, allowing the warm water to wash over them, turning around to face him.

🩸 ―――― IT WAS A CHILLY NIGHT OUT IN SANTA CARLA WITH THE MOON OVERHEAD AND THE STARS ILLUMINATING THE NIGHT SKY. it was the night the ghouls and goblins came out from the shadows to wreck havoc amongst the humans; david and his boys being part of that chaos. santa carla was their town and they always did what they pleased. david and his boys dressed up for a party that was being held on the beach, each in their own costumes, with david dressed as dracula --- it was the easiest and most on the nose costume. he always did like to be the center of attention. the bonfire on the beach roared, crackling as it sparked, with unsuspecting victims drinking and dancing around it in their own spooky costumes. david didn't find anyone particularly interesting tonight; it was always the same dull tourists, blonde bimbos that had no idea how to form a nonsensical sentence, and uninteresting fake punks. as much as david loved halloween, he was hoping something new and fresh would happen to spice up his life a little. his wish had just came true when he spots @wickedlehane by the bonfire, the light of the fire shining on her face as she danced and swayed her hips. there was something alluring about her that drew him in; her energy tugged at his own. finally something that piques my interest, he thought. he signals to marko that he was making his move elsewhere before sauntering over to the raven-haired goddess. he appears from behind her with a smirk already stretching his lips, dry 'fake' blood staining the corner of his lips, “ boo ” he whispers, “ i've come for your blood [ .... ] ” he just had to push the boundaries, didn't he?
#i hope this is okay my friend!! idk what's going on w my writing but it is not A TIER tonight#( closed starter. )#wickedlehane#wickedlehane: david#david ( closed starter. )

@grapefruitey // twyla x david
This was the last thing she expected to happen during their fifth year anniversary celebration. It all happened so fast: One minute she was pulled away from David for a brief moment to head down to the underwater viewing deck by one of the captains himself (a special privilege not afforded by just anyone on the cruise ship) and the next, she was on all fours, face down in his intestines. And as she tore through and ravaged the captain's entrails she couldn't help but remember the fancy dinner she'd had with David last night, under the stars in the middle of the ocean, romantic violin playing in the background while she ate... spaghetti.
Suddenly the door burst open and she turned around, caught red-handed, literally. Mouth and hands drenched in blood as if she was a rabbit who'd just chewed through a whole strawberry farm in the summertime, she flashed a grin toward her husband—her loving husband, at least she liked to believe that—and pretended like everything was okay. Because, well, it all happened in such a blur that she was certain she was just hallucinating, and Captain Samuels was still alive and well beside her.
"Honey!" she sang, slapping Captain Samuels' big hat on her. "You made it just in time." There was a slight gargle as she choked, barely, on something fleshy in her throat. "Captain Samuels was just telling me how a family of dolphins likes to swim in this part'a the ocean. Isn't nature just amazin'?"

Closed RP Starter with @the-drayster + @bbleague-crispin !!
The lax normal-type specialist casually, yet proudly walks into the league club room with Crispin excitedly following behind him, frying pan slung over his shoulder. "Hey, Drayton!" Tenma says while smiling and waving, as usual. "It's me, Tenma. Oh, and Crispin's here too. Cheesed to see ya." Tenma then proceeds to lean back in a chair, pulling at one of the strands of blue in his hair as Crispin runs up to Drayton, giving him a hug. "I brought David, too. As long as he's allowed, of course," he says before whispering something in Paldean and gesturing to a shiny Porygon that slowly enters the room.

If Min had lived past CH1, where do you think her character could potentially go?
What do you mean if? /j
That depends a lot on the context of her survival, frankly. Does she still see Xander's attempt to murder Teruko and just... survive somehow? Does something else save Teruko and Xander dies without Min being the blackened? Does Xander die before the attempt? Or are the CH1 victim and killers completely swapped? If so, who are the new ones? All of these lead to pretty different possibilities for Min's character. But there's still a couple of things that could have been interesting to see.
Yay an excuse to ramble about Min! :,D
For starters, my guess is that she'd be decent enough in trials; at the very least, she'd act as third brain cell alongside Teruko and Charles. She'd definitely have joined Charles and Levi in talking about how strong jockeys are, for example. Also my heart says she'd have been in the Teruko Teaher CG in some way, such as an teacher's assistant.
Her secret would have also been a hell of a time. Assuming the two CH1 deaths still had each others' secrets, someone must have had Min's, which would have certainly been... honestly indescribable. It just depends too much on who exactly gets it.
However, "You always treated the competition with ruthlessness, but poisoning them to win was a bit far, wasn't it?" would have certainly been an excuse to bring the XF-Ture backstory to light, and combined with MonoTV's own XF-Ture comment, I'm pretty sure hell would have followed. Just complete pandemonium; the poisoner has ties to the same company that seems to be connected to the killing game, yeah everyone's gonna start calling mastermind and shit's gonna hit the fan.
I could see a world where the cast in CH3 becomes completely divided over the Extremely Suspicious Min, with Eden for example being one of the ones to stick up for her (baking squad I will always miss you). I could also see Rose doing it (baking squad I will always miss you), because they could bond over the companies ruling over their respective lives, so Rose would trust that Min had nothing to do with the other shit XF-Ture had going on. Hell, since I'm talking about it, Min would have probably also tried to cheer Rose up about the tape thing, because of her whole "mistakes are to be corrected" thing (BAKING SQUAD-)
And all that means Min would have quite an interesting reaction to Eden or Rose dying, and vice versa. No ship shall remain undoomed in DRDT, after all!
On the other hand, holy shit the beef between her and David. The guy that's always defending the son of a bitch who tried to kill Teruko? Xander, the one Min always disliked anyways? It would be basically on the same level as Teruko's beef with David, which would be a sight to see. Throw in Xander surviving too, and you have the ultimate Yaoi vs Yuri throw down on your hands.
But a lot of this is character interactions, what about Min herself? Well, I imagine she'd grow into reaching similar conclusions to Bonus Episode 1, about what she'd like to do in the future and being a teacher, especially since I imagine the trials would be made in a way that her talent would help so she'd gain more confidence in her abilities. Obviously all of this development would happen right before she dies, or right before the final trial if she's a survivor.
Yes, even though I'm immensely biased when I say this, I think Min could have worked as a survivor. In a very similar way I think Rose could be a survivor now; experience horrors beyond imagination, and slowly get better until the point they're willing to fight their fates (aka company contracts) by the time they leave the killing game, paralleling Teruko's own growth. For Min, those horrors wouldn't be photographic memory, getting betrayed and (presumably at some point) watching close friends like Eden die. Rather, they would be losing everyone's trust between the poison secret and the XF-Ture thing, having some breakdown over mistakes in trials (again similar to Rose), worrying that she'd die before her life really began, and... watching Eden die. In case it isn't obvious, I really miss the damn baking squad T_T
Also, the poison secret (god this post's structure is a mess). I haven't been talking much about it because we're actually missing quite a few details. I've talked before about how I imagine she likely non-lethally poisoned people after the Ultimate Contest for Eminent Students (or asked someone from XF-Ture to do it for her), but obviously that's speculation. That's important because, for example, I don't know how much the actual lethality of the situation would affect the way Miss Anti-Murder Preacher J would react to it, even though I imagine she'd be pretty pissed no matter what. Veronika would be all over Min for the details though.
Her reaction to Levi and Arturo's secrets would have been cool to see. Arturo doing anything for a better life would probably get her to feel sympathy for him, at least, and again depending the lethality of her poisoning, she probably wouldn't be able to really hold it against him without hypocrisy.
Speaking of Arturo, do we think Min would make a good doctor's assistant? She was reading an anatomy textbook in her introduction. Maybe helping Arturo take care of Levi after Trial 2 would be the start of her becoming more confident in her abilities.
Also she'd be real good friends with Charles. No elaboration on this, I just know it in my heart to be true.
One dynamic I'd like to see is with Hu. If Hu learns about Min's past, and Min's desire to leave it all behind (as per the pinned comment in Bonus Episode 1, Min is "Someone who wants to move on from the past"), I could see her reaching out as someone who also has a past she'd rather pretend doesn't exist. There would certainly be a good deal of character development for both of them, just in time for one of them to die of course. Incidentally, the whole "moving on from the past" thing could rope in Veronika as well..
And I could probably ramble about this forever. To be extremely fair, all DRDT characters have so much depth and there's so many interconnected themes all over the place that I could do this for any of them; go on ad infinitum about all the possibilities for growth and exploration that their interactions with the cast and the motives could provide. So I'll cut myself off there.
(I will also add as an observation that (because I'm predictable) I have considered writing a "Min survives CH1" canon divergence fanfic before. Don't count on it happening, just know it can)
Thanks for the ask! Always happy to have an excuse to ramble about my girl :,)
#drdt#drdt spoilers#ask#min jeung#i get too excited writing about her and post structure kinda goes out the window#but what's new really :p

my (silly) opinions on the fanganronpa communities i’ve been in (some hyperbole) :
drdt: good community. most “making crazy conclusions” fanbase ever. they’ll take a sprite where someone blinks and use it to make a theory that it’s them ‘closing their eyes on humanity’ they’re the mastermind and also killed 17 babies. i miss the old david chiem quite a lot.
dra/sdra2: the closest fangan community i’ve seen to the normal danganronpa community. it’s like a starter fangan! dra: despair academy is significantly forgotten to sdra2. interacting the fanbase makes me feel like i’m under a microscope and they’ll call me stupid if i say something wrong. also, i liked teruya otori MORE before his glow up. same with Yuki Maeda, he’s better first game than second
p:eg : i may absolutely be biased about this. i may absolutely be the most biased man you’ve ever met. but this has to be the best fanganronpa community i’ve seen!!!! the sheer amount of support on artists in the discord server is crazy. meme sharing channels, the amazing VAs and team, the sense of community in project: eden’s garden fan spaces… My golly gosh. Incredible.
the fangan community is generally a good place to be !!!!!!! love those games love those guys!! let me also say, i think dra:da, sdra2, drdt, and p:eg are “the big four” in the fangan community. feel free to say otherwise
i haven’t been super active in any other fangan communities, especially not smaller ones. sorry 💔 i prefer fangans that i can google and find content for, not fangans i have to scrounge every inch of the backside of like Tumblr just for sprites. that’s all !! yap confession
Lol, it's okay while I love a bunch of different fangans "the big four" are all really good and deserve their popularity. I also definitely agreee with a lot of your opinions ^^ (Idk if I should reply to confessions more or not)
Unrelated image I think id funny

Y’all ever heard of epigenetics?
Okay, mildly (though some not) angsty parent!Darlin and parent!Sam headcanons for what their kid would be like (focusing on ages 15-19)
So; for starters, the name I chose for my lil guy, the son of Sam and Darlin, is Samuel Jr. Sylvester Collins-Barrera (Barrera being the last name I hc for my Darlin)
Also, my hc for Darlin is that they’re half or fully Mexican and can speak Spanish fluently
Gonna start off with average character stuff
- Everyone his age calls him Samuel, some of the older pack call him Junior, to differentiate from his father
- He’s fluent in Spanish, lies about it though to take a Spanish class to breeze through a couple credits for high school
- Now, this one depends on what mood I’m in, but he’s either a Freelancer or a Shifter before he gets turned (more on that later), orrr if I’m feeling real funky and wanna ignore some canon lore I make him a bit of a hybrid, able to shift but quite adept at freelancer magics
- Him and Darlin’ spar, so his combat ability is honed to the point of them being evenly matched by the time he’s 19, but he can never quite defeat them in a match
- When he gains access to his magic at 13, Sam teaches him some small magic, and starts teaching him healing, which he picks up quickly
- Eventually specializes in healing, with a minor in illusions and dabbles in elemental magic at D.A.M.N. (This is in the further future though so this isn’t in a timeline order or anything)
- He shifts accidentally for the first time at home with Sam, 3 days after the solstice, not a very fun experience :(, and Darlin isn’t home, so Sam kinda freaks out cuz he doesn’t know what to do
- Not going to discuss the other pack kid headcanons here much (different post perhaps?) but basically, David has a son, and Samuel (the kid I’m talking about in this post) has a crush on him (him being the son of David)
- Vivienne, Vincent’s daughter, and him are very close, both being kids of clan-less vampire parents, so they can relate to each other the most
- He’s just as much of a vigilante as Darlin was, which makes his parents very worried, but he can heal himself, and use magic, helping him be better off in fights
Okay, now for the angst!! Yay :D
- He and David argue a lot about his reckless actions, leading him to distance himself from David and act similarly to how Darlin did, albeit relying on the general pack much more
- This one requires a small explanation; in my headcanon of how kids of vampires work (since they kinda can’t reproduce in canon etc idk it’s weird), they still inherit the current blood of their vampire parent, as well as their parents original blood (I did take a bio class so ik it would prob be only their old blood bc of genes and gametes but it’s cooler this way lol), and if their parent’s blood is from a very strong old-blood, it can affect the child adversely when they reach the age of unlocking their magic
- Sooooo because Samuel Jr. has Solaire blood, he’s turned by his own blood trying to take over the rest of his body when he’s 15, and basically dies!! Coming back as a vampire ofc
- And this is massively depressing for Sam, like majorly,, because as his son dies in his arms he tries his best to heal him and fails, not to mention he’s now the reason his son has lost the same freedoms Sam did many years ago :(
- In my headcanon of how this works with being turned early and stuff I think Samuel Jr. continues to age until he’s physically about 19 ish
- Ofc Samuel is bitter asf and says some super vitriolic stuff to Sam, temporarily severely harming their relationship, though they make up afterwards
- While in bloodlust, Sam and Darlin try bringing him to pack stuff still, but he’s a danger to non-vampires, making things difficult
- David eventually starts to get protective of the pack, seeing him as a possible threat (does it get dehumanizing? Yeah a little bit) but David’s son doesn’t care, and hangs around Samuel even though it’s dangerous, letting him drink his blood
- At one pack event David can’t find Samuel or his son and gets a bit panicky, even though he tries to hide it, and gets Sam, eventually they find them both, David’s son (who is the same age as Samuel, my guy ain’t feeding on a child dw 🥲) sitting on a bed playing a game on his phone, with Samuel calmly drinking from his wrist
- David is confused and a little frustrated, but his son explains that Samuel still has enough control, and that just because he’s been turned doesn’t mean he should be outcasted even during bloodlust (though he’s a little bit wrong because Samuel really is a danger but yk,, it’s ok Samuel is trying really hard to be careful around him bc he still has the crush from when they were kids)
- David cares about Samuel I promise 🥲 but he’s very concerned for the general well-being of the pack
- Samuel, being a stubborn guy just like both his parents, refuses to accept that he’s a vampire and is unable to enter sunlight and does some.. very reckless experiments, essentially running into sunlight at pack gatherings when no one’s looking and having to be dragged back by one of the nearby shifters
- Eventually he finds a weird way to alter his own core with a lot of magic, but he’s not really altering it, it’s more like his core never fully changed because he only had >49% Solaire blood so it didn’t have full effect (that does mean Vincent’s daughter got fully turned though 😔) so he can oddly change between forms, still having many disadvantages ofc (mary sue? Nooooooooo why would I do that :3 I just like multi-faceted powerful folks yeeeup) like sensitivity to sunlight, and a hard limit on how long he can retain his humanity (he can seem totally human / a shifter / a freelancer for about 2 hours until his hold on the magic keeping his core the right way slips)
- So once he’s around 17 he’s got a good hold on his magic, having reaccessed it after his experiments when he was 16 ish
- ..this does mean he’s a pretty crazy fighter now after a while of practice
Nowwwww who remembers me mentioning epigenetics way at the beginning of this lol (I promise I’m almost done but he’s my favourite redacted oc 😞)
- Fair warning this may imply that Darlin has the ability to birth so erm if that isn’t your cup of tea that’s totally okay and you can ignore this bit
- Basically Darlin’s epigenetics are passed onto him, and he has some major mental baggage because of it, being far more prone to mental health problems :(
TW: ALCOHOLISM
- He also copes very unhealthily with his problems by drinking, so much so that he swears off alcohol and stays sober when he’s only 20 and still can’t drink legally (in the US at least) :((
tw over it’s ok to read now
Okay okay that’s it for now I know I blabbered so much just now immm sorrryyyyy 😞
I will be posting more because there is a lot more to this little canon divergent thingy of mine !! Been having this in my brain for almost two years now but felt it was too.. idk.. self indulgent? Cuz I made him a littleeee too powerful and cool 😔 but I give him disadvantages so it’s ok ✅!!

This weekend, all the major movers and shakers in Formula 1 have descended on Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. On track, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will attempt to slow Max Verstappen’s seemingly inexorable charge towards a third successive title. Off it, their respective team principals, Mercedes’ Toto Wolff and his nemesis, Red Bull’s Christian Horner, will also do battle. But arguably the most significant power move made in motorsport this week may already have taken place. Its architect was none other than Susie Wolff, wife of Toto. And just quietly, she is hoping she may have triggered a revolution.
As managing director of F1 Academy, a new all-female single-seater series, she is currently thrashing out what she believes could be a ‘game-changing deal’ with F1’s 10 teams, which she hopes will boost female participation in motorsport like nothing before.
......
Leaning back in a chair in the library of the Monaco Yacht Club, Wolff lets out a snigger. ‘It’s true,’ she nods. ‘He really did once describe me as a donkey!’ We are talking about her husband, Toto Wolff. The donkey reference actually cropped up in an interview the couple gave to Ben and Georgie Ainslie’s Performance People podcast last year. In the YouTube version of the podcast, you can see Susie, by this point in hysterics, miming someone digging a hole ever-deeper. The exchange is a window into their relationship: playful, loving, with Susie giving as good as she gets. But it also says something about both of their characters. Toto is a high performer, there is no doubt about that. And Susie? Well, ‘donkey’ may be a bit harsh for a woman who once gave Hamilton a run for his money in karting. But she knows what her husband meant. ‘Don’t underestimate the donkey,’ she says, grinning. ‘It gets there in the end. I do have a lot of tenacity.’ She is going to need it in her latest role.
There have been various attempts down the years to drive female participation in motorsport and achieve the ultimate breakthrough: returning a woman to the F1 grid. Wolff believes F1 Academy is different. For starters, it is the first all-female series launched and owned by Formula 1 itself. That means it is in F1’s interests for it to succeed. So whereas W Series, for instance, was given an enviable platform by the sport the fate of F1 Academy is far more intertwined with the brand. Not only will it compete on the F1 circuit from next season, but the two series will collaborate far more closely. Wolff cannot speak just yet about what that might look like, as the finer details are still being ironed out. Suffice to say there are some very exciting plans in the offing that she hopes to announce soon. ‘I think there are some forward-thinking team principals in Formula 1,’ she says. ‘I certainly feel a real commitment from within the paddock to help change things now.’ ‘When I met them all after my announcement in Bahrain, I said to all of them, “Please don’t think of this as a ‘woman’s thing’ being run by a woman. This is for the greater good of this sport. I hope it will add value to Formula 1 long-term. And we need to be on this journey together.” So far, the response has been very positive, I have to say.’ Wolff smiles. ‘But F1 Academy cannot just be about 15 young women racing. And we cannot have the sole purpose of trying to find the next female F1 driver. We have to stand for something much more. It’s about creating opportunity. How are we making motorsport accessible to girls? That’s why I’m spending a lot of my time in the world of karting right now, trying to understand, OK, who’s out there racing? At what level? What is stopping girls from racing? I think that’s where we’ve got to be really proactive. Because that talent pool is what we need to grow.’
......
Wolff is uniquely well-placed to do so. Born in Oban she had a typically outdoorsy upbringing. Both she and older brother David, were put on skis and bikes as toddlers. Her parents, owned a motorcycle dealership and her father raced bikes competitively, so racing was ‘in the blood’. But, Wolff says, she was ‘never a typical tomboy’. ‘I had my Barbie. I had my dolls. I liked that stuff. But I also loved going fast.’ Eventually the family got a second-hand kart and that was it, although Wolff insists it was just ‘for fun’ until she was taken to a Formula 3 race at Donington Park one year and watched Jenson Button win. ‘That’s when I was like: “This is what I want.” After that I started racing in the European and world championships.’ It was at that point, too, that Wolff began to experience sexism for the first time. She had always been ‘the only girl’ in karting races. Or at least one of very few. But as her participation became more serious, so too did the feeling of being not just different but unwanted. ‘Funnily enough, half of my battle was with the parents of my competitors,’ she recalls. ‘For them, it was not wanting their sons to get beaten by a girl.’
Sometimes her own teams, supposedly on her side, were just as culpable. When she reached DTM, the German touring car championship, Wolff was famously made to drive a pink car. ‘I hated it,’ she says. ‘It was such a cliché. No one wanted to be overtaken by that car.’ Wolff recalls one particularly awkward episode when three-time F1 world champion Niki Lauda came to watch his son Mathias. ‘Mathias and I were teammates and it was a real thrill that Niki was coming to watch,’ she says, wincing. ‘So anyway, he walks into the garage, and all the drivers were in there, and without even saying hi to Mathias or anything, he took one look at me and said to Mathias: “Whatever you do, beat her.” Even Mathias was embarrassed.’ ‘Years later, when we obviously became friends at Mercedes I brought it up and Niki was like, “Yeah, I know. But I knew it wouldn’t have been helpful to Mathias if he got beaten by you.” I said, “But Niki, I was an impressionable young driver.” Obviously he was of a certain generation. But I think that still exists. That stigma. Not wanting to be beaten by a girl. The preconception that women are bad drivers. We have to change that.’
.....
In other times during Wolff’s career it has been double standards that infuriated her. Male drivers could advertise products or cash in on their celebrity. But when Wolff did the same she would be accused of ‘using her body’ to further her career. This is someone who had, and still has, a genuine interest in fashion. ‘It was frustrating,’ she admits. ‘I turned down loads of things. I remember being questioned about one shoot, with Vogue Japan. “What? You’re going to turn down Vogue? No! It’s one of the top titles…”’ ‘Ultimately, I think it’s about finding a balance and doing what you’re comfortable with. I had one golden rule. I would never date another driver. I wanted to look after my reputation and just be someone that was seen as credible. But I think this idea that you just put your helmet on and race and nothing else matters… that’s not the case. Take Lewis. What he brings to the table is his outstanding talent on track. But also, all of the stuff he represents off-track. So if anything, I look back and say, I should have gone even harder.’
.....
Does she believe she was held back? Wolff shakes her head. ‘I think I fulfilled my potential. If I look back now, with more perspective, I wasn’t one of the most talented. I had a lot of tenacity and a lot of determination. A lot of thick skin. So I look back with no bitterness whatsoever. There were a lot of tough moments, I won’t lie. But I also met Toto, which led me to where I am now.’ They met in 2009 when Wolff was competing in DTM. Toto, 11 years her senior and with two young children from a previous marriage, was the co-owner of HWA AG, which ran the DTM race programme for Mercedes. He proposed one year later on a boat in Venice (well, on a boat back to the airport after his original plan to propose at a romantic restaurant was scuppered when a couple they knew sat down at the next table) and they were married in Capri in 2011. Inevitably their relationship, her subsequent role at Williams, and rise through senior management positions at Venturi Racing, a Monaco-based Formula E team, to F1 Academy, have led to allegations of nepotism.
‘I am completely fine with that because in the end, I know the truth,’ Wolff says. ‘I got the drive with Williams after I met Frank at a DTM event at Brands Hatch and told him I’d done a school project on Williams as a 12-year-old girl and it was always my dream to drive an F1 car. At the end of the conversation he said, “I’ll give you 25 laps at Silverstone.” It kind of snowballed from there. How much of that was Toto? It’s impossible to judge. But I feel I grabbed my chance.’ ‘Toto was never on the radio telling me how to drive a Formula 1 car. He wasn’t holding my hand telling me how to run a Formula E team. I did all of that on my own two feet. I know I’ve got what it takes to be successful, I don’t need Toto to open doors for me.’ She pauses. ‘I think in some instances, it can be very helpful having the Wolff surname, in others very unhelpful. But I wouldn’t change it for a second.’
Marrying up their schedules can’t be easy. The couple’s main home is in Monaco, but when we meet, Toto is back at the factory in Brackley, having just returned from the Canadian Grand Prix. He will fly out to take over parental duties from Susie when she heads to Zandvoort at the end of the week. ‘I don’t think we’re dissimilar to many couples who have busy jobs,’ Wolff says. ‘I have Toto’s schedule on my phone so I always know which country he is in, or at least when he’s coming home. And we just have to prioritise. If that means Jack and I jumping on a plane to wherever he is to make it work, we make it work.’ Wolff admits it is her who generally compromises. ‘Someone has to,’ she shrugs. ‘And right now it’s me, for sure. I’m based here. And Toto is in and out. It’s a big advantage that I understand the industry so well; why he has to be away, why he has to stay longer at the factory. All of that means I’m not giving him a headache at home when he does return. I get it.’
Have Mercedes’ recent struggles on track made things more stressful? ‘Actually I’d say he is in a better place than he was a few years ago,’ Wolff replies. ‘I think he had a moment in lockdown where he didn’t know whether he wanted to stay in the sport. But now he has really got the bit between his teeth again. Sometimes I’m in a room when he’s on a very difficult call and I’m starting to feel, “F--k, this is some serious pressure!” But he can just pile it on. I will absolutely be posting this on ao3 soon and hopefully adding more to it. <3 <3
It started in the laundry room.
They’d been living in the same building, on the same floor, in the same corridor for the last year but never spoken—not until that evening in the laundry room.
David was putting a load in when the other tenant came downstairs, no basket in hand, just an armful of t-shirts, underwear, and towels. He tried not to watch but it was impossible. He’d caught plenty of glimpses of them over the months, in the hall and on the elevator. They were a storm wearing skin and a leather jacket.
With a huff, they crammed the ball of fabric into a machine and then peeled their shirt off and kicked off their boots, huffing annoyance as they unbuttoned and squirmed out of their jeans.
There was no way they thought they were alone in the room. David was not the sort of man that went unnoticed. He slammed the lid on his machine just in case.
The other tenant pulled their phone from the pocket of their jeans along with a wad of cash, and put it down to the side before closing the machine.
David raised an eyebrow and looked at them, really looked at them, wearing nothing but underwear and stepping back into their boots. They were lanky, all muscle and bruises. One hand rubbed the back of their head, ruffling their hair while jabbing the buttons to start the machine. “What?” they snapped, not even looking at him.
Their knuckles were raw and bloody and their side looked splotchy, like those ribs would be bruised tomorrow.
“Bad day?” David asked the scrapper.
They huffed again, this time grinning and turning enough to look at him. They had blood on their teeth and in their hair. “Nope.” They picked up their phone and the crumpled bills, both of them walking out of the laundry room and down the long hall to the elevator.
David followed them into the lift and waited. They jabbed the button for their floor.
They both walked down the hall, almost together.
The scrapper peeled off first at their door, only a handful of steps before David’s. They shared a wall. He only realized they weren’t carrying keys when they opened their apartment door. They hadn’t even locked it.
What a mess, he thought with a smile.
He saw them again when he was on his way to the basement to move his laundry to the dryer. They had showered and were wearing a pair of sweatpants.
They leaned against the dryer after starting it and watched him, not unlike how he’d watched them when they were stripping down an hour ago.
David let them. He’d called most people out on eyeing him in his life but this seemed like fair turn around. They started their machines and took the hall together again. This time, in the elevator, their stomach growled.
The scrapper rolled their eyes like it was a familiar nag and not a biological function reminding them of hunger.
He wasn’t sure what made him do it. He wasn’t exactly known for making the first move in making friends. “Do you like enchiladas?!
The door plinged when it opened and their neighbor looked over their shoulder at him, one eyebrow raised. The brow was split by an old scar. “What?”
“I made enchiladas yesterday. It’s too much. Do you want some?”
They were walking again, both of them moving a little slower than usual down the hall toward their doors. “Is that your way of inviting me in?”
He snorted. “I’m not inviting you in. You’ll get blood on my rug. I’m asking if you want some of the leftovers.”
Their smirk sharpened. “Do you think I don’t have food?”
He bit back a laugh, suddenly willing to bet their fridge was empty. “Forget I asked.”
They were at their door but paused.
He felt their gaze on him, considering him. He unlocked his apartment and was one step in when they suddenly said, “Okay.”
He looked back at them, standing in the hallway outside their door. They looked unsure and suddenly younger, softer. He could see the echo of what he imagined they’d been like as a kid, before they got tough. He nodded. “I’ll grab you a plate.” He held out his hand. “My name’s David.”
Their gaze flicked to his hand like trust didn’t come naturally, but they closed the distance and took it. “Darlin.”
He smiled before he could catch himself.
Luckily, they smiled back. “I know. Either my parents had a really different idea for who I’d be or they were assholes.”
David shrugged, dropping their hand after maybe a second too long of holding it to duck inside and make his way for the kitchen. “Maybe it suits you,” he said.
Darlin laughed, leaning against his open doorway. He didn’t mind if they came inside but he wasn’t sure they were willing to. Interesting. They’d leave their door unlocked but they weren’t quite ready to walk into a stranger’s apartment. “Yeah. Like calling someone tall Shorty.”
He laughed and pulled the dish out of the fridge. He cut a few enchiladas free and scooped them onto a plate. He would have wrapped it if he wasn’t sure they were going to eat it right away. He paused with it in hand and look at them. “Do you need to borrow a fork?”
Darlin’s expression bloomed in a huge grin. “Fuck you,” they laughed, holding out a hand for the food.
He crossed his apartment to put it in their hand. “See you around, Darlin,” he said.
They nodded, still smiling when they walked back to their place and inside.
David thought about that smile and that laugh all day afterward and the next time he saw them in the hall they talked more and Darlin had him wait in the hall to bring him the plate. They’d even washed it and promised they’d used soap and not just licked it clean. He tried to ignore the jolt that mental imagine sent through his whole body, but something about the way they bit their smile suggested they’d seen it too.

Okay so @new-tella-us posted something about everyone MCs and I decided to make a post explaining Arons lore
This is a really big post, so yap sesh ahead
Trigger warnings for alcohol and specific drug use/addiction, abuse, neglect, health conditions, death, cancer, family separation
For starters, in my canon, I gave Harold another daughter, Scarlett. Growing up, her and David were close until around junior year when she started rebelling a bit. She started staying out late and drinking, whereas David was focused on his schooling. Scarlett had a job, would leave the job and get drunk while driving around with her friends, go home and sleep for around an hour, then wake up and go to school. No one could tell her no, because she would do it anyway. The alcohol was her way of self medicating severe mental health issues, and it spiraled from there.
Her rebellious stage calmed a bit as she got older, but she never stopped doing whatever she wanted. She moved to florida as well. Over the next ten to fifteen years, she had three daughters. At this point, her relationship with David is extremely hostile. He constantly insults her and her baby daddy's, and some of those insults even go on to be about her daughters. However, Harold and her remained close. He loved his granddaughters with all of his heart and constantly was sending toys from the company for them.
Scarlett met a man named Jonathan in a bar and was immediately the two felt a spark. They got close as friends until they sparked a relationship. He was incredible with her children and had some of his own, 3 sons from a previous marriage who lived with their mother. It wasn't long before they had fallen madly in love.
To put it simply, Jonathan, along with his little sister, had a shitty upbringing. His parents were both drug addicts. His father particular was an abusive asshole. We can call him Rob, and we will call Jonathans mother Lisa.
As Jonathan got into his teem years, Rob began encouraging him and manipulating him into taking drugs with him, which led to Jonathan struggling with a drug addiction throughout his adulthood.
This is important because when Scarlett and Jonathan got together, he was an addict. Scarlett had experimented with drugs in the past. (she tried and hated marijuana. She would occasionally would take cocaine, but it was never an addiction for her, just to lose weight.)
Unfortunately, though, she thought that because she never experienced addiction with cocaine, she'd be okay to try the drugs Jonathan was taking. But as soon as she tried them, she was screwed, along with the relationship. They were so in love yet so toxic and awful to each other. People have described them as 'oil and water'. In this time, the older sisters were placed by child protective services one by one with family members from each of their fathers family. Scarlett was devastated, and the pain led her to take more drugs, furthering the spiral.
When this happened, it was brought to light just how severe her addiction had gone, and she was completely cut off by David and the rest of the family, besides Harold, who tried to get custody of the children but was denied as he was out of state.
Around this time, Scarlett becomes pregnant. This was not a planned pregnancy, but she and Jonathan were absolutely thrilled.
Oh, and to be clear, she didn't take any drugs during the pregnancy!!
When Aron was born, she was a happy and quiet baby, which led to her toddler years. She seemed healthy for the most part, and any signs of health issues seemed like it could just be normal behavior, as she wasn't old enough to properly describe pain or to know it was abnormal. Scarlett and Jonathan have another baby a few years later, another baby girl, Riley. Harold would come and visit often despite David's disapproval.
A few years after the birth of Riley, the two of them (along with her oldest sister who had moved back with then when she became pregnant) were taken by child protective services. Her oldest sister was placed back with her grandparents on her father's side, whereas Aron and Riley were placed with Jonathan's mother that we mentioned earlier, Lisa.
By now, Lisa and Rob have divorced, and Rob remarried. Both of them have recovered from their drug addictions.
I'm going to list the main places she lived, I can go more in depth for how each one was. There are many similarities because of the fact that her father's family was riddled with generational abuse and trauma.
Here's a summary for each one
Aron lived with Lisa for about 4 years. It wasn't great. They struggled with money and housing, but Lisa did what she could. In this time, Aron got very close to her aunt. (her dad's sister) This is also when Aron's health issues started. In this time, Jonathan was diagnosed with cancer. Scarlett and Jonathan also got clean from drugs.
Then, her father got custody back of her. They started going to court, and after a long time, he was finally able to get it back. (Doctors were expecting to be able to remove his tumor, and at the moment, they did not think he was terminal.) He passed away about four years later after deteriorating.
Then she lived with Rob (jonathans father) and his new wife (Sheri), and it was a complete mess. Without going into too much detail since this post is already 8 years long, I'll just say it was lots of abuse and medical neglect. Again, I will go into more detail in a future post.
She ran away consistently her teen years until she and Riley moved in with her mother, finally, who had moved back to Chicago. Still, Harold was the only one who wanted anything to do with her.
Then, at 18-20, Aron started looking for her own place, wanting to finally be independent, but her health made it difficult. She was 21 when she received the phone call that her beloved grandfather had left her his entire estate to her, along with a large portion of his money...

Man, I'm going a bit crazy with the idea of Mephiboseth and Absalom a bit here like, for starters Mephisboseth has to deal with the whole drama that if it wasn't because he had already been injured that the people who took care of him would have never loved him or let him live long enough as he is now. Cuz he is the heir of Jonathan after all, but also its the exact reason that he is the son of Jonathan that David cares about the boy so much, maybe just as much as Solomon, even though it isn't so noticeable when there's a lot of the problems in the family that arouse due to David's many wives and children.
One of which is of course Absalom. And to an extent I feel like he would become jealous but, I also like to think about he would grow out of that when he sees that 1)Mephisboseth poses no threat to him, heck less threat than his brothers currently do, 2) He seems a bit more lonely in the regard that he is the only heir of a lost family whose only person he could call a familiar being the maid that saved and keeps caring for him like a mother. And 3) Maybe the idea of Tamar being close to Mephisboseth would be nice to write about (but will also add a sadder tone when Mephisboseth can't do anything about what's going to happen to Tamar. 😔) especially considering how her other bothers might be.
Like maybe Mephisboseth is also quite the contrast compared to Absalom who is pompous and extroverted in his own regard. Like even when the deals of the court get to be too much Absalom can go back to Mephisboseth because with him there's no need to put on a show so that he can look better than his two (one really, the second son seems to be as invisible as middle child gets) brothers. After some years he might not care much about his father's favoritism because well, he knows he is great enough by himself. Not as wise as Solomon but enough, probably because Mephisboseth and Tamar hype him up a lot. (And that care that Tamar shows to them probably is what makes Amnon so bitter to the point of committing horrible things in the first place. Because not only is he hurting Tamar, he also hurts Absalom who wasn't present at the one time Tamar needed her, and Mephisboseth who even if he was, wouldn't have been strong enough to help her— or maybe would have tried and ended up getting more hurt because of his disability.)
Either way of how you put the story, the tragedy will so deep throat that I can't stop thinking about it.
And sidenote, the fact that Siba was kept in charge of Mephiboseth during the rebellion of Absalom was just a little note honestly but my mind went to the idea that maybe, because Mephiboseth cares about Absalom so much he would have tried to help him in any way he can, and David— who had met in secret with Jonathan before, who knows the lengths he would have gone for to be with the one he loves– tries to impose him from meeting Absalom in the case that another son of his, the son of *Jonathan*, dies. (Not to mention he would also have broken his covenant with Jonathan if Mephiboseth were to die.)
Sorry mate. I'm so sorry but you are suffering with me after giving me this idea 😔
Hey, I have no problem suffering with you! Where are all my papers on Mephi/Absolom stuff!? 😫
I couldn't agree with you more on this! There are so many themes you could explore with a story about Mephiboseth. The conflicts... The emotional turmoil... aahh! I believe the dynamic between Absolom and Mephi would be such a fascinating aspect.
Mephiboseth suffered greatly from the trauma of his accident and the sudden loss of his father in one single day. Following this, Siba, Saul's servant, tended to him and relocated him to a place literary called “Nothing,” reinforcing Mephi’s belief that he is insignificant. Even in the Bible, his insecurity is evident as he refers to himself as “nothing more than a dead dog.” Therefore, when he gets an summon to David’s palace and meet the king and his family for the first time, I always wonder about what is his perspective? Does Mephi harbor resentment? Is there jealousy towards Absalom and David’s other sons who grew up in a luxurious palace— a life that was meant to be his? And imagine if Jonathan had survived, then Absalom and Mephiboseth would have grown up together as brothers….
And yhea, It is pretty much canon that Absolom and Mephiboseth are the opposite from each other. Like you said, one is beautiful, popular, pompous, extroverted and a prince. And the other is lame, introverted and a "nobody". Which is something I can eat everyday! I just love the opposite attracts trope!
For Absalom, he had grown up in a grand palace that strictly forbade the presence of anyone with disabilities. David, for a really stupid reason, held a strong dislike towards those who were blind or deaf. However, everything took a different turn when David brought a new child into the court, publicly declaring him as his own son and warning sternly that any harm towards the boy would be met with severe consequences. I think this sudden change could leave Absalom confused and somewhat resentful of his father's abrupt favoritism towards this random boy. He probably would feel jealous at first, but probably quickly shifts and not lingering on these emotions for long.
I also see that the relationship between David and Mephiboseth is not entirely healthy. David's protectiveness towards Mephiboseth could even borders to an obsession, stemming from his fear of losing "Jonathan” again. I thinks that Mephi would looks and resembling his father in every way, When Mephiboseth stands before him, David is overcome with emotion.
Picture him trembling on the floor before the king, uncertain of his fate, why he is here. In a surprising turn, David pulls him into a tight embrace, tears streaming down his face, perhaps softly uttering Jonathan's name. Confused and hesitant, Mephiboseth eventually returns the hug. 😭
David has good intentions and cares deeply for Mephiboseth, but his love for him seems to come with conditions. It raises the question of whether David's affection for Mephiboseth would remain unchanged if he were not Jonathan's son. The likely answer is no, something that Mephiboseth probably already knows about. The only reason David lifts the ban on disabled individuals entering the palace is because he desires to have Mephiboseth live with him and his family.
Then we have David's overprotectiveness during the rebellion. Despite being torn between loyalty to Absalom and David, Mephiboseth is forced to remain at the palace due to Siba's influence. Siba, believing that a lame person should not stand beside the King, prevents Mephiboseth from joining David but as well not allowed to follow Absalom. It could be that David might actually be alright with leaving Mephiboseth behind at the palace. A recurring theme in "The Prince’s Psalm" is how others underestimate David and try to forces him to stay low and at home. His family unknowingly hurts him when they are doing it. This mirrors how David unknowingly makes the same the mistreatment he endured from his brothers onto Mephiboseth.
There could be also a theme with David not viewing Mephibosheth as his own person. When Siba lies that Mephibosheth has betrayed David and that he has left the palace, David becomes enraged and gives all the inheritance that he would give to Mephibosheth to Siba instead, not taking time to think or ask for evidence. It also shows that he doesn’t really know Mephibosheth, that he immediately believes someone else's words. It gives the feeling of "putting him on a pedestal." What I'm trying to say here is that David loves Mephibosheth for Jonathan’s sake. It's a beautiful thing between David and Jonathan but not as much for Mephibosheth, if you know what I mean.
And there are so many parallels between David and Jonathan’s story with Absalom and Mephibosheth. It has the same story beats but the roles are reversed. The "shepherd" stays in the castle while the prince is on the run from the king.
Regarding Tamar, it's a very sensitive topic. The assault of Tamar in the Bible is only used as motivation for Absalom to start the rebellion. After that, Tamar isn't important narratively anymore. She is only mentioned once more after the assault, when Absalom names his firstborn after his sister. This act struck me as such sweet thing, cuz it's probably the only time in the Bible where a male character celebrates having a daughter. Personally, I've always been uncomfortable with female characters experiencing trauma solely to drive the motivations of male characters. As well as that a character would sexually abuse another character just to hurt someone else. Amnon comes across as nothing more than a creepy stalker in the bible, and I don't think he doesn't need any additional motivation for assaulting Tamar. Like you said, I really like the idea of having Mephibosheth and Tamar become good friends, leading Amnon to feel jealousy. But it wouldn’t be the main factor why he was harming Tamar in the first place. He was obsessed with her already and resorted to trickery to manipulate David into sending her alone to his bedchamber—a situation that would never have occurred if she hadn't been ordered or coerced into it. I do think that both Absalom and Mephi would blame themselves that they couldn't protect her but then Absalom redirects that resentment towards David. This would happened to Mephi as well but he becomes conflicted. That he don't want to blame David for forcing Tamar to be alone with Amnon at first but then realize it later. I'm not sure about what I could add to Tamar's story…. Perhaps keeping her involved in the story could enhance her character arc? For instance, instead of Siba aiding Mephibosheth in meeting Absalom secretly, maybe Tamar could fulfill this role instead? I dunno, I'm not sure.
Though if Mephibosheth and Absalom's relationship were romantic, then David would probably immediately spot it. 😅 I don’t think that he would mind in the beginning, and even it would make him reminisce his memories with Jonathan. But when Absalom starts the rebellion, he obviously sees him as a threat to Mephibosheth. And after Absalom’s death… Yeah, there we have the sad juice. David mourns for his son's death and we have Mephibosheth mourning too by David's side. It's like a reflection of Saul and Jonathan, but this time, it’s “David” who died. And it's the King and the “prince“ still living.
I WANT THIS TO BE A BOOK SO MUCH! 😫

location: Ike's home
It wasn’t late, per se, but it was definitely starting to get dark. Things were winding down with the hustle of bustle of everyone’s return to the Ranch and Nicki - well, Nicki had some other worries. Outside of the fact she was pretty adamant there was a snake in their midsts now, Ares was pretty much down and out and almost everyone had made it out by the skin on their teeth, she could feel herself winding up. Laying in the clinic wasn’t going to help. She thought maybe sitting by Ares’ bedside might do the trick but her ribs were pretty much screaming at her for sitting in that chair for too long and the longer she laid in her own thoughts the worse she started to feel.
So fuck it. Should she have probably waited to try and make her way out to Ike’s house? Yeah, probably. Hell, she almost didn’t make it. She was approaching the gate when David spotted her with the most confused faces she was sure he had ever made towards her. In fact, the man almost helped her back to the clinic but after she tried threatening (and failing) then pleading with him to help her to Ike’s house, he obliged. That was the only way she was going to make it out to him at this point. David helped her until she insisted she could walk the extra feet to his front door and David vanished back to the town while Nicki raised her arm, albeit gently, and knocked. “I know you hate surprise visitors but I’m hoping you’ll make an exception,” she added as she waited.
