@incoramsanctissimo and @paranormaljones - you both put Mara Daughter of the Nile in the tags of that lapis lazuli post and I wanted to say I Loved that book and first read it for school too! (MODG curriculum) I didn't think of it as a well known book so it surprised me to see it referenced twice on my dash at the same time!
#Idk if u guys know each other but i just thought it was really cool#we should start the mara daughter of the nile fandom adjlfsafj#and invite coldswarkids she loves it too

An ending tag/extra scene for a little angst and hurt/comfort. As the fandom tropes go.
Summary: It was difficult to accept that the brightness of Mara’s eyes as she gazed at him in the litter, her triumphant grin as she spoke of soon being his countess-wife, had fled beneath the beating wings of truth. Gods above, here was truth: grievous wounds were not erased by the changing of one ruler for another. In the dazzling throne-room, in the Street of the Sycamores, Sheftu had plucked hope like a flower, even while he should have heeded its thorn.

Sheftu is one of those rare true ruthless protagonists because even when he's in love with Mara there's absolutely 0 doubt whatsoever that if he found out she was a traitor to his king he would have her killed

The Finding of Moses
Artist: Nicolas Poussin (1594–1665)
Title: Moses Saved from the River
Genre: Religious Art
Date: 1630
Medium; Oil on Canvas
The Finding of Moses
Description
When the Pharaoh ordered the killing of all boys born to the Israelites, Moses was hidden by his mother in a basket of bulrushes on the river Nile. There he was discovered and adopted by the Pharaoh's daughter. In Christian theology Moses was considered a precursor of Christ and analogies were drawn between his escape and Jesús's flight into Egypt. The palace in the background is based upon one in a Roman mosaic at Palestrina, excavated a few years previously. To the right is a personification of the River Nile. The joyfulness of this event is expressed through the bright colours of the fluttering drapery and the gestures of the figures. This painting was commissioned by Reynon, a silk merchant of Lyon and subsequently belonged to Clive of India (1725–1774), from whom it was inherited by the Earls of Powis.
Exodus 5-6
Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said.

Reblog with your favorite "cinematic" novel: the one where you can see every scene play out in your head with perfect clarity and rhythm, and you know if they ever filmed it, it could never measure up to the version you've imagined.

Alright, because I need to plan out everything before I start conquest I'm putting up my pairings and their reasonings
Corrin/Kaze (I like their support, Kaze bby girl you are deserving of my love and devotion. He's also very attractive)
Jacob/Beruka (I paired up Jacob last and the only remaining women were Elise and Beruka and I'm not pairing up Elise. Hope their support is good because I've never read it)
Azura/Laslow ("You will be my inspiration" "and you my muse" "May our song never end" Sickening, they have replaced the inside of my brain. Also conquest makes this pair a huge ouch, an owie if you will. Also Soleil looks very pretty with light blue hair)
Silas/Charlotte (I don't know why I did this one. Sophie looks fine with blond hair, but her growth rates have very big numbers)
Xander/Peri (Mutuals gave me quality food for these two and giving Sieg the ugliest hair possible is the true goal of fates)
Leo/Felicia (Gives Forrest very pretty hair)
Benny/Mozu (Big guy and small girl. Very cute)
Keton/Camilia (Little red riding hood but she's also a princess with a pretty lavender streak of hair)
Arther/Effie (Cute hair colour for Percy)
Odin/Nyx (Nyx stating plainly that she really likes Odin's theatrics and her envy over Odin's passion for magic. I really like them. Also Odin saying that Nyx's backstory is way more dark and tragic than his when Odin's backstory is *Wildly gesturing at Awakening* all of that, delicious)
Niles/Selena (Bisexuals with abandonment issues, but one also has commitment issues in this specific context. Niles falling in love with Selena because of her girl fail antics and Selena saying "Alright you can hit it but we can only get married after I tell you my big secret post game". Also the Nina, Soleil, Ophelia trio being the awakening trio's kids feel right. Like they're all besties but this just feels right, you know)
#Outing myself as both a rare pair enjoyer and as the type of person who pairs units up for the hair colour#Idk what hair colour to give myself for Midori#but I might go with green#My taste in men is very limited but Kaze is very attractive#Also I like to think that Odin teaches Nyx swordplay because she's burnt out on magic and she should try something new#Vantage nos gaming family#Also also Nyx has a small freak out when she first sees Ophelia's brand because she thinks it's her curse#Odin has to explain it too her#fe14#fire emblem fates#Leo being retainer-less at the end of conquest because both Odin and Niles go to Ylisse#I think Niles deserves to go to kinder world where the horrors can't reach him#Azura too but this conquest and she's dead#Actually this goes for Nyx as well but in like a “Getting a fresh start type of way”#Can a fujoshi daughter and himejoshi mother really repair their relationship?

Sheftu snorted a quiet laugh, then caught himself, shooting a surreptitious glance towards Snape. Thutmose didn't look up, but the corner of his mouth twitched upwards in solidarity.
A wave of heat flooded Mara's face. If Sheftu's brashness exposed them... but the look in Thutmose's eyes told her they were in this together. No matter the house colors, their ties went deeper.
Nahereh, of course, had already achieved a perfect, pearlescent swirl in his cauldron. He sneered across the room. "Incompetence in those gold and red cloaks, as usual," he muttered.

LOL, if you wanna hear Wyvern mounted classes are stupidly overpowered in nearly every Fire Emblem game ever made!
The older games only "balanced" the class by not giving you access to a couple later the game.
Armored Knights and Archers tend to be underpowered, the former particularly in recent games!
Ohh gotcha! Yeah, from what I can tell, wyvern riders always seem to be super OP, which is good when you want a tank that kills everything pretty easily. But if it’s a character I don’t really care about, I end up not using them nearly as much, unless I’m just trying to get their supports. I think the only wyvern rider I actually like and use regularly is Gerome tbh.
Also I do agree about knights and other armored units being super underpowered too, but all my archers are pretty strong tbh. I rely on them a lot lolol
#that being said I do still use wyvern riders sometimes but they aren’t my go-to#but yeah my archers kill literally everything lol#gaius and noire are my father-daughter sniper duo in awakening#and I married niles in fates and used a partner seal to reclass my unit into an outlaw/adventurer#so now me niles AND nina are all adventurers lolol#not to mention takumi absolutely DESTROYS everything lolol#I like archers a lot so even if they aren’t the strongest class I will still use them whenever I can#asks#anon#fire emblem
