Some people have some weird concept of writing fixes
Someone suggested that making Corrin not related to the Hoshidan royals at all and swapping the family vs. family aspect in favor of a loyalty vs. morality concept would improve the story
Obvious problem: How is Corrin still the center of the conflict if Hoshido no longer has a reason to trust or care about them at all? Corrin's choice matters because they have a reason to care about each side, but also each side has reason to care about them
The correct solution to improving Fate's story should be to make Nohr slightly more heroic and Hoshido slightly less good, but keep both sides on a relatively even morality scale
What's funny is that the loyalty vs morality conflict is already prominent within the game lmaooo. Like for sure the family vs family dynamic is a thing, but Corrin in Birthright angsts the most about the lives of the family and loved ones he ruined, and Corrin in Conquest angsts the most about the innocent people being indiscriminately killed.
While I personally don't subscribe to the idea that Revelation is the only valid path (since Ryoma, Xander, and the other siblings need BR and CQ to complement their arcs), Corrin reaches his pinnacle when he rejects the war outright and stands firm on his pacificity. That writing choice can't reasonably exist without the crux of loyalty vs morality already in place.
And I agree, I don't quite understand not making Corrin related to the Hoshidan royals because, yeah it can theoretically remove a weird plot hangup, but it'd also just make Corrin's position in a possible Birthright and Revelation not make sense. At that point he'd just be a de facto political prisoner with not as much time spent with Hoshido as Azura, so it wouldn't make sense for him to have any authority in BR nor would it be reasonable that he'd be able to recruit anyone from Hoshido on Revelation, since the whole reason why he gets Hoshidan support is because Sakura vouches for him, and she does that because she heard great things about her kidnapped older brother. You'd have to jack up Corrin's charisma tenfold to justify it, but people already find it hard to believe that he's charismatic and think the game's writing coddles him as it is.
As you said, the flaws of Hoshido and the positives for Nohr just need to be more pronounced instead of regulated to subtexual fridge horror (e.g. Hoshido's rampant xenophobia and isolationism)

actually thinking so much about the implications of chrom!laslow. because he grew up a prince completely useless, completely unable to protect his citizens from this force that tried to kill them no matter how hard anyone tried. they were completely at grima’s whims and try as he might to protect them, his father was gone and his mother did her best before she inevitably died as well, and he was so young and there’s only so much he’d be able to do, yk? but then fast forward and he’s in his 20’s, maybe 30’s, and he’s under xander who is in such a painfully similar situation, and he’s seeing it from an outsiders eyes. sure, anankos isn’t raising the dead citizens before their eyes to kill what remained of the living, but he was still destroying the people of nohr and by extension hoshido. people lived in fear. there was nothing that could possibly be done for them, not until anankos was killed and garon, by extension, died. but this time, laslow is one of the few people who knows about it, and he cannot speak of it lest he want to disappear forever, which ran the risk of dooming nohr forever because he did have some sway as the retainer to the crown prince of nohr. and he’s older now, it’s true, but he is just as helpless as he was as a child, watching his citizens lose family and friends and themselves in the face of the horrors that surrounded them and being able to do absolutely nothing to stop it.

I think something just clicked for me about the three houses lords. They're all ideal lords. Almost genre savy - in a like, Hamlet kind of way. For games that aren't Three Houses and don't *have* three lords, and worlds that haven't been manipulated by an extremely active dragon church for centuries (or longer).
Dimitri is so prepared for betrayal that Edelgard implicating herself is enough for him to snap. He would have charged at Arvis before he had a chance to do half of what he did if he in Sigurd's shoes. Instead, he thrusts into conflict so quickly and avoids like, talking to Edelgard for five minutes to learn the real situation... Not that she's inclined to explain either.
Which brings me to Edelgard herself. She is also genre savy in her own way - she works hard to keep her activities a secret and she *knows* she is surrounded by betrayers with TWSITD (and knows they can replace people too, crucially). She could've caught onto what was going on in Nohr faster and maneuvered around it without others catching in. Instead, her paranoia leads her to fails to communicate with the two people who are, arguably, in the best possible positions to help her - assuming she could find common ground beyond the church. (Which is, quite possibly, the point - Seiros' influence is everywhere in Fodlan, and centralizes in the very place the lords all meet.)
Claude... Would probably get along in Soren's position better than Soren himself. (Though I won't say he's the better tactician, he just seems like he'd get along with them). But he doesn't particularly deal with the problems borne from the church. (Like. The church of Seiros erased medical science progress, the printing press, and other key inventions that could have been huge and improved quality of life throughout Fodlan). Arguably the most relevantly genre savvy - in his own route at least. He is weighed down by circumstance of his smaller, fractured nation though.
Rhea is a good point here, too. In Awakening, she'd basically have been Tiki. (She also might've been able to survive longer than Alear's mom in engage...) But what happened to her mother and family scarred her beyond belief and left her shattered... And she promptly never got therapy for centuries and created a lot of oppressive systems to rewrite the narrative and manipulate the threats to her surviving kin.
Yuri... Yuri is in the correct game. Lay low, bide time, don't rush into any major plans all at once, and side with the professor who seems to have gotten a holy dye job over spring break. 10/10, Ashen Wolves stay winning.
.

i'm playing fire emblem fates for the first time (birthright route)
every character is so silly i love them all (which is why i am playing on casual hard mode)
i am so terrified i'll have to off my nohr siblings
putting more thoughts under a read more
so far i love all my hoshidan siblings! i think i have a slight takumi and sakura bias because i have a soft spot for healers and because takumi is very bullyable.
like. sir. you have like 9 RES
he made fun of leo for reading books too like i didn't read his supports and learn that takumi was also a total fucking nerd
anyways having a dancer-equivalent from the very beginning is very helpful. azura thank you for existing you make my strategies very fun to complete. and by strategies i mean sending in my strongest unit and watching them wreak havoc, usually corrin or ryoma since takumi can't one-range people.
(i remember playing through awakening. chrobin swept. in three houses i just had lysithea sweep everything with dark magic)
i put off playing fates for a while because i wanted to play it with the unofficial gay fates mod and i wasn't confident with adding mods to my 3ds games yet. safe to say i feel comfortable now!
my current matchmaking pairings are:
corrin + rinkah (i decided on this one in the very beginning i thought it'd be cute)
sakura + hana (princess and retainer!!)
takumi and hinata (prince and retainer!!!)
ryoma and saizo (PRINCE. AND. RETAINER!)
orochi and kagerou (duh)
jakob and silas (i thought it was funny)
felicia and azura (i thought their supports were cute)
kaden and azama (i looked up the UGF support list for this one)
i am dreading my conquest run i don't want to fight the hoshidans. then again i also don't want to fight the nohrians. i do want to get to know my nohr siblings more.
uh. can't wait for revelation!

Corrin/Kamui and Takumi supports in the Japanese version vs the localized version
I already made a post about the support differences between the original Japanese version vs the localized version with the Hoshidan siblings ....I just realized that my post was too long, so I'll repost it with each section of its own, so that it can be read easily.
Note that I would use Corrin’s Japanese Hoshidan name, Kamui interchangeably for flavour. I would use Corrin for the EN while Kamui for the JP.
Takumi & Kamui
C SUPPORT:
In EN Corrin wants to connect to Takumi, but his response is hostile and they’re being sarcastic with each other due to Corrin’s background with Nohr. Corrin wants to learn archery to prove his loyalty and dedication to Hoshido, to gain trust and give him a chance to prove himself in battle his loyalty.
In JP, Kamui wants to connect with Takumi like in EN BUT because he wants to bond with him. Takumi isn’t fully trusting him but he is open to bond with Kamui unlike his reactions in EN. As Kamui didn’t grow up with Takumi, he didn't know what to talk about and it became awkward. As Kamui sees that Takumi is into archery, learning through him would be a good place to start bonding.
Comparing the two versions, you will see that EN’s theme is all about loyalty, while the JP version is about sibling bonding. [Skipped lines means they are exactly the same
Like I said, EN Takumi is more sarcastic and hard on Corrin versus the JP version. Also take note of these closing lines of the JP version because it will appear again in their A-support and it’s worth mentioning.
B SUPPORT:
In this support, it shows Takumi teaching Corrin archery, then taking a break. When EN Corrin says that Takumi makes it look easy, he does not take this well and sees it as sarcasm and when talking about archery they both just brush it off as effortless. But in the JP,when Kamui expresses that archery is harder than it looks. JP Takumi gives his insights about the beauty and effort of archery which was cut out in EN. Kamui praises Takumi how amazing Takumi is and Takumi didn’t expect such praise that it caught him off guard other than the sarcastic remark in EN.
You can see how the EN version again condensed the JP script comparing the two. In short. The EN version shows Takumi doing it effortlessly while the JP version shows beauty and perfection in archery.
A SUPPORT:
At the end of the B support Corrin injured his hand and in this A support he still strives to learn archery despite his injuries.
In EN, Corrin says that Takumi is a strict but a good teacher and he hoped that Corrin was worth his time. Then Takumi admits that he is good but doubts him. This shows that he’s truly dedicated and loyal to Hoshido and wants to continue to train him.
But in JP, the whole time Kamui is genuinely excited to learn, you could tell he wants to bond with his little brother Takumi, and compliments him how amazing he is. And in turn, Takumi is liking Kamui and sees what a gentle and kind person he is and now sees him as a sibling and enjoying his company. This recognition makes Kamui very happy.
The major changes in themes you would notice is that in EN Corrin is doing it as an obligation/business to prove his loyalty and dedication. And in JP that Kamui wants to connect and know more about Takumi who once was hostile to him, it is a true sibling bonding and to have connection.
Remember those final lines in their C-support, it’s cute in A-support there’s a call back to that in the JP version: “Please treat me well, big brother Kamui”.
MY THOUGHTS:
Takumi and Kamui’s relationship is interesting because it had a rocky start. I always find their dynamic interesting and I am curious how their support would play out. When I first read the EN supports, it didn’t feel like they’re connecting, it felt more like a business relationship and just doing it to resolve things. When I read these supports in JP, I LOVE IT! It mending their relationship, it felt more meaningful than the EN version, and it felt like a genuine sibling bonding.
The whole time I was reading the JP version , I was like “WHYYYY???????!!”. Why the heck the localization team rewrote this from a nice bonding/connecting to just doing it to prove loyalty. In the original Takumi is more receptive and I love the final lines of Takumi, “please treat me well, Big Brother” because he also said that in C-support too, I love that call back it shows that Takumi has trust with Kamui as a sibling. The JP version shows Takumi’s passion and love for archery through expressing the beauty and striving for perfection. While EN Takumi is just reactive and too proud. Dammit localization team!
In short EN version made it about duty, dedication and loyalty vs JP version’s sibling bonding and connection.

Bull-bodied Hoshidans
Second commission done this batch. This one for @dragonitemaniac involving Ryoma and Kaden along with his OC, Ben turning into some nice, fat bulls~ Of which I'm always a complete sucker for abshanbvhab
Castle Shirasagi as frequent a sight as ever, the imposing structure feels as homely as ever. Especially as the cool orange hues of dawn begin to break through the smothering darkness of the night. And the sight is a complete reprieve from Ben’s mission after traveling into Nohr’s usually overcast and cloudy landscape. No one bats an eye as he enters; his usual outfit showing him as a master ninja looks far from out of place, especially not with him being one of Ryoma’s retainers. Though Ben’s appearance used to draw attention once upon a time back when he had first become a retainer, his own musculature hard to not notice even in the largest of crowds when the stretchy spandex of his outfit hugs each and every deep crevice of his bulging muscles.
Only one person stops him by the time he draws near Ryoma’s personal quarters. “Ben!” Kaden comes rushing over, having just walked out of his own room. “You’re back rather quick,” Bundling over to him, Kaden’s smile is big and bright after not seeing Ben for a short couple of days. The tips of Kaden’s ears reach up to Ben’s eyes with him just barely being a smidge above being a head shorter than Ben. He rests a hand on Ben’s mostly exposed pecs. He links his other arm around Ben’s torso as he leans in to give him a hug. Kaden’s long bushy tail swishes behind him.
Ben returns the smile. His face turns a bright red, his face flushed as he looks down at Kaden. Ben wraps an arm around Kaden’s own torso. The Kitsune’s svelte waist feels much smaller than his own defined abdomen topped with a rippling six pack. Ben uses his free hand to adjust his outfit, tugging down on the strip of reddish brown fabric that covers his prominent bulge.
“I made sure to take extra special care of my tail while you were gone,”
The tail is as tantalizingly soft as it looks as Ben strokes it. “I missed you too. But I’m back from my mission for now at least,”
The briefest mention of his mission seems to snap the two out of their small little stupor. Kaden pulls back first with wide eyes. “Oh, Ryoma wanted to see me!”
“Well, I need to report back to him,” Ben holds out a hand towards Kaden. “Why don’t we go together then,”
Kaden accepts Ben’s hand, the two of them walking over to Ryoma’s chambers. Kaden presses his hips against Ben's, swishing his ass as he walks. The already short distance feels like a couple of quick seconds while they walk together ; they only need to they turn a few corners before they promptly arrive.
“Enter,” Ryoma calls for both of them before they even have to wait any time at all.
Ben and Kaden kneel on the mat upon entering and seeing Ryoma’s armored self, his war attire donned; neither of them mention it, the air in the room serious.
“Thank you two for showing up so soon. I have a new mission for us three,” Ryoma motions for them to stand, deeply chuckling at them still treating his as if he were a stranger whenever anything seems remotely serious. “But first, I take it you were able to confirm that Nohr is conducting independent research?”
“Yes, Ryoma. As you asked, I didn’t break into the facility, but Nohr is clearly researching magic independent of our agreed treaty to share and aid each other’s countries through our collective resources now that Valla has been reunified as a country,” Ben speaks plainly and firmly. He stands still as he waits for Ryoma to go on.
“As I thought. Well, no matter. Why don’t we pay them a visit then?” Ryoma grins at the two of them. He stands more than an entire head taller than Kaden, Ryoma even standing a few inches taller than Ben’s already tall stature. “Think of it as a small trip,”
“Uhh, won’t it be dangerous though?” Kaden pipes up, ears twitching in thought.
“Worry not. It’s simply likely that they forgot. I must admit that even some things have slipped my mind. Plus, the supposed research facility is too close to Fort Jinya for them to be purposefully hiding away,” Ryoma grabs a katana, the common weapon a far cry from the menacing, thunderous weapon that is Raijinto. But even a simple training weapon is dangerous in Ryoma’s hands.
“I’m ready to leave whenever, Ryoma,” Already carrying his shurikens, Ben thinks nothing of resting. The added incentive of being alone with Ryoma and Kaden helps sweeten the deal of heading out once again, but Ben would happily follow Ryoma's order regardless.
Kaden quickly searches his robes for his beaststone. And produces it from a pocket, the lustrous orange stone faintly glimmering in his hands. “I’m perfectly ready to head out too,”
“Perfect. Though are you sure you’re ready to go, Ben? You only just came back,” Ryoma asks.
“I’m only glad to be of service, Ryoma. And even if this might be an accident, we can’t be too careless,”
“Thank you. I truly appreciate it. I never guessed that the man I fought at those hot springs so long ago would be as loyal as you are,” Ryoma reminisces, remembering the very first time he encountered Ben, his town known throughout Hoshido and even other countries for their wondrous hot springs. He places the palm of his hand on Ben’s bicep, the bit of exposed brawny skin —that Ben has to have at a slight angle from his broad torso and bulging chest— being caressed by Ryoma’s gloved hand. Ryoma pets Kaden with his other hand, scratching him right behind his ears. “And you too Kaden. I think no one in Hoshido would’ve expected such a newfound close relationship with the Kitsune Hamlet,” Ryoma smiles fondly with him, glad to be able to help mend the rift between Hoshido and the Kitsune tribe, both him and Kaden's close relationship helping start it.
“Of course, Ryoma,” Both Kaden and Ben respond. The two of them blushing, Kaden leans into the embrace, humming as he presses his body against Ryoma's, not minding the coldness of Ryoma's armor, still able to feel the resonating warmth from Ryoma; meanwhile, Ben stands still, shyly looking at the ground. Once again he adjusts his clothes as he looks down at the ground, maneuvering the small strap of karuta plating on his torso a bit further down to cover his meaty bulge.
The trio last like that for a few minutes before Ryoma eventually returns his hands to himself. “Alright, let’s be on our way,” Ryoma leads the way as Ben and Kaden follow behind him.
True to Ryoma’s words, the trip is barely a trek at all. The three of them reach Fort Jinya by carriage before it even reaches midday. And they waste no time in walking past the laxed borders, no one stopping their king. Though they do get a bunch of awed stares the entire time. Partly from seeing Ryoma, the sight of their king a rarity outside of Shirasagi, partly from Kaden, Kitsunes still an elusive sight to behold, and even partly from Ben, his massive muscles larger than even the most fit of woodchoppers. They walk the rest of the way with the strange new research facility only a couple of hours away. The landscape no longer resembles the usual serene plains of Hoshido. The craggy terrain they walk through is the usual view whenever walking near Nohr and Hoshido’s borders.
Kaden’s ears twitch as they draw closer to the supposed facility. “Someone's nearby,” He stops Ben and Ryoma, the trio finally taking their first stop.
The entire area is silent minus the chirps and trills of the few animals in the distance. Ben gets ready to rush off, but he's held back by Ryoma's arm. And Ben is met with only a simple shake of his head.
“Up there!” Kaden points at the group's unexpected guest.
“And to what do I owe you boys the pleasure?” Niles says, standing far above them. A few pebbles come rolling down the large, steep rocks.
Ryoma steps forward. He holds one hand out, glad to see a comrade from the war, no matter how little he may have conversed with Niles. “We were on our way to see the facility Nohr recently constructed since I was personally invited,”
“Really now?” Niles raises a brow, his one good piercing eye staring at Ryoma. He never once moves from his spot. And neither do the three men below him for their part. “If you received such a personal invitation, then why don’t I have a look? I could personally lead you there. With all the special perks that comes with it,” He throws them all a quick wink, more of his fit, tanned chest exposed as he leans down at them.
Ryoma stays silent. His teeth grind together despite the smile that never once wavers from his face.
“It was a messenger!” Ben stands forward. “They told us about our invitation and to meet them at the gate. Come on, Niles, it’d be rude of us to be late,”
“Hmmm,” Niles taps his chin with a sigh. “Well… If you’re so concerned about being late, then who exactly would you be late for? I’m sure if for some miraculous reason this messenger we supposedly sent didn’t give you all a letter of introduction, then I would hope they did their job in at least informing you of who exactly is inviting you,”
“Uhhh…” Ben goes quiet, now gritting his teeth much like Ryoma.
Niles sighs. “Well, I guess it is true you can’t have brains and brawn. Though you still look as good ever,” Niles reaches behind him, pulling out an arrow from his quiver as he readies his bow. “If you three are so keen on seeing what we’re up to, why don’t I give you all a little taste? I promise you’ll feel nothing but pleasure,” The arrow goes flying in the air, the highground afforded to him giving him ample enough of a vantage to aim as freely as he wants.
Only to meet the ground, Ben jumping out of the way. “Are you crazy?” He shouts, another arrow ending up burrowed into the ground left of him. Ben wastes no time in fighting back; he tosses shurikens at Nile’s legs.
Ryoma has a much easier time dodging the few arrows Niles aims his way. As if in a dance, he simply waits for every arrow, nimbly shifting his body as though the wind were guiding him, each and every arrow never coming close to hitting him. His katana unsheathed, Ryoma cuts a few arrows in half, clearly teasing back at Niles. Ryoma continues to dodge to the right, Niles continuously waiting to call his bluff by aiming towards the left.
“Well, this was to be expected against such evasive foes,” Niles shouts at them over Ben’s grunts, Ryoma as silent as a leaf while Kaden simply watches. “Bingo,” He whispers to himself, nocking yet another arrow Ben’s way. And just before he lets it fly through the air, he shifts his weight, aiming directly at Kaden’s torso.
Ben and Ryoma can’t even react in time, both of them unknowingly pushed too far to the right by Niles’ aiming. The blistering fast arrow reaches its target with zero issue. And it bounces right off of Kaden’s flat stomach. Even his vest is unaffected by the weapon; the arrow thuds down onto the floor as if it simply hit a stone wall. Kaden laughs at the attempt. “That felt like a pillow, Niles. Just take us to the place already!” He shouts, hands cupped around his mouth.
Arrow in hand, Niles examines it.
“Wait, really, Kaden?” Ben rushing over to Kaden he pulls his kimono undone, hands pressed against Kaden’s exposed creamy abdomen, not even a bruise forming. When nothing happens, he pulls his hands away with a blush on his face. He doesn't bother tying Kaden's kimono back. And he sneaks a couple of glances when he can.
“Nothing hurts. Promise! I guess he was just joking,”
Ryoma joins them, walking slowly. “That sounds like Niles,” He sighs.
“Alright! Hit me Niles!” Ben pounds his pecs, grinning as he stares up at their playful attacker. “If these really are magical, then go ahead. But then you have to take us to the new research facility,” Ben stands his ground. He waits for Niles’ answer.
Niles scratches the back of his white hair. “Did I really get a bunch of duds?” He mumbles, confusion clearly on his face. But he turns his focus back over to Ben, staring him down with a glint in his eye much like the first time he encountered him in Corrin’s own personal Astral Plane, the hot springs a personal favorite of Ben’s. “Alright, deal. Guess I was just unlucky to be given a dud today,” The arrow let loose, it goes straight to Ben, hitting him on his pecs.
“Are you okay, Ben?” Ryoma asks, getting closer to him.
“I’m fine! It feels like no- bwwuuuoOORRPL!” Ben goes quiet, interrupted by his audibly churning gut. “Actually… huff I feel… off…” Ben fans himself. “Ughhh…” Suddenly feeling as if he were back visiting the Wind Tribe, the scorching heat as he trekked through the sand feeling all too close to right now, Ben struggles with his armor. Everything clings to him. Fabric feels too confining. He does his best to soothe himself.
“Ben!” Kaden and Ryoma rush over to Ben. They coddle him, having him take a seat on the ground. “Here, just take deep breaths,” Ryoma stands to the side. His eyes never waver from Ben’s panting state, a few beads of sweat rolling down his face.
Kaden waits on Ben’s other side. “I felt fine when I was hit, I promise! Maybe it’s poison for humans?” Kaden gets closer to him and sniffs him, nostrils placed right up to Ben’s face as he straddles him, Kaden's ass pressed up against Ben's crotch. He gives Ben some relief after a short while, back on Ben's side.
“I just… I feel so warm…” Ben grunts. He clenches his teeth for a short while before letting his head tilt back. “Hnghhh…” He reflexively rests a hand on his abs. His stomach continuing to gurgle, Ben lets out a small burp. And his stomach continues to loudly gurgle, his washboard abs washing away as he suddenly begins to grow. “Ough…” Ben moans. His head is fully tilted back, his face a scorching shade of red. His abs quickly disappear, the six pack softening and widening as flab replaces and covers it. The stretchy fabric adheres to Ben’s growing curves, his muscular thighs losing their shape as they fill up with lard. The elastic material shows off his widening body as Ben quickly loses all of the bulging muscles he had only a few minutes ago. And the top of his outfit begins to bulge out; the extremely low cut of his top shows off his growing bulge, a large round gut billowing past the black trimming of it. The karuta plating grows taut on his figure. His large, sagging tits press up against the rope of his shoulder armor, the rope stretched even more than it once was against his formerly broad pecs. Ben continues to grow; his biceps are completely washed away under a heaping helping of lard, the two once meaty arms even larger now with sagging rolls of arm fat. The armor wrapped around his gut is the first piece to come undone, the loose knot coming undone with his bulging torso needing room to grow. And grow Ben does, the once buff master ninja now rather obese, his gut seeping onto his broad, widened thighs. “So tight…” He complains, grunting as the rest of his armor feels piercingly tight.
“Here, let me help,” Kaden begins unlacing Ben’s bracers and tosses them away, getting the sharp pointed metal away from them all.
Ryoma starts helping Ben with the rest of his armor, unlacing all the rest of it. “It’ll be all fine, Ben. I’ll make sure of it,” Ryoma starts with the shoulders, his hands pressed up against Ben’s large breasts as they continue to swell with flab, more and more of them spilling out of the top. Then he quickly moves onto taking off the armor from his legs, needing to take care of it immediately with how dangerously it begins to creak and groan. And lastly, Ryoma unlaces the plating on his thighs. Ryoma has to dig his hands underneath Ben’s gut. Kaden’s hands squish against Ben's gut, Kaden needing to help Ryoma with Ben's gut getting in the way. Ryoma’s fingers get close to Ben’s crotch as he undoes the plating, Ben’s large dick ending up buried under a swathe of flab that is his blossoming fat pad along with his growing gut.
“We’ll take care of you, Ben. Don’t you worry,” Kaden practically straddles Ben as he fawns over him. His kimono is still undone; his smooth creamy skin is pressed up against all of Ben’s flab. “You are really soft though,” Kaden whispers, his hands roaming Ben’s flabby body; he cups the large pendulous breasts, his fingers squeezing Ben’s tits that are slowly starting to rival the size of Kaden’s head.
Ryoma takes part in Kaden’s groping. “As long as you’re okay, then maybe this is fine,” He rubs Ben’s gut. He has both hands all over the large flabby mass of fat as he teases and tests the heft of it.
Ben tries his best to not focus on Kaden’s caresses or the way Kaden’s trim yet defined chest is tauntingly right in front of his face. Even as the beginning effects of the magic begin to wear off, Ben slowly gaining a bit of lucidity back. But the semblance of thoughts regained doesn’t help with Ryoma also helping him and consoling him, that and the tingling he feels in his head and tits as well as his tail bone.
“Hmmm, so maybe some people are simply immune to the magic…” Niles muses, still watching the scene unfold in the distance. He catches a glimpse of Kaden, his ears and tails taunting him. “Or maybe…” He aims an arrow at Ryoma and shoots it.
And in the trio’s distraction, Niles hits a bullseye, directly hitting Ryoma as he takes the full force of the hit; Ryoma groans, clutching his gut as he stares up at Niles. But he says nothing, all the words that he might have are instead reduced to pants and wheezes. “This is… pant too hot…” The magic takes a smaller hold on Ryoma, his body well able in dealing with magical attacks. But he still feels the potent effects, bits and pieces of armor clinging onto the floor. His growing tummy doesn’t help with his armor. His defined, well built torso becomes flabby as his body begins to pack on the pounds, his blubbery love handles soon tightly pressing up against the red bits of rope holding his codpiece. His lower half is less receptive to the magic but they still fill out with fat. Ryoma’s thighs lose the definition they’ve built from years of training and marching, his legs filling up with flab as they begin to double in size, the upper portion of his thighs squishing up against each other. More and more of the inner rivulets of thigh fat begin to press up against itself, Ryoma’s ass pushes outward, his defined rear swelling into a blubbery cushion for his engorged body. But his breasts are the greatest recipient to his growth; his once defined pecs fit for a true warrior morph into two gelatinous, bulging tits. And with no support to hold them, they press up against his armor, the cool red metal tightly compressing his tits as he tries to paw at them.
“Ryoma…” Ben shifts his focus from his own fattened body and to Ryoma’s growing self; Ben gets an eye full of his Lord that looks like a smaller version of his own corpulent self. His vision shifts straight on over to Niles as he slowly stands up.
“H-hey! Sit back down! It’ll be alright, I promise. We’re sensitive to magic and this seems like it’ll be all fine. Plus I told you already. I don’t even smell poison,” Walking in front of him —Kaden stumbling backwards as he tries to stop him— Kaden rests his hands on Ben’s obese body, his flab wobbling with each step he takes. Kaden shifts his attention back over to Ryoma.
And Ryoma clearly needs some help, his growing self about half as big as Ben’s fat ass but still struggling with most of his armor still on. Ryoma’s face lacks the usual determined concentration it usually has. Instead, the expression is replaced with a contented, dopey smile. Even as his growing chubby self is quickly morphing into clearly fat territory and beyond that.
“Oh fine. Just don’t do anything stupid, please,” Kaden returns to Ryoma’s side. More and more of Ryoma’s armor ends up littering the floor, the codpiece the first thing Kaden takes off. “You’re not as soft as Ben, but you do feel nice too,” Kaden whispers in his ear, hands untying Ryoma’s helmet with his flabby near squirrel-like cheeks beginning to press against the tough red metal. The pieces of armor take longer for Kaden to remove. Ryoma's flab is poked and grabbed, blubbery skin squished under Kaden's expertise. The numerous pieces of armor helps slow him down, Kaden's own insistence on groping Ryoma slowing him further down. He helps Ryoma with the metal of his shoes and Kaden finally gets Ryoma into a seated position with his lower half finally able to freely move. “I’ll make sure to take good care of you and Ben. If you want, I can even take you two back to my hamlet,” Kaden has far less restraint with Ryoma than he does with Ben, the two of them much less nervous than him. Kaden’s ass rests on Ryoma’s lap, the comfortable spot growing even more spacious as Ryoma’s thighs fill further out, one thigh soon becoming the size of two of his own. The growing gut Ryoma sports does little to deter him from his personal seat; the expanding mass of flab is only something else for him to fawn over and play with in between taking off all the intricate bits of armor Ryoma has.
Ben not focused on helping Ryoma’s immediate situation, the retainer focuses instead on getting revenge for his Lord. He ignores the weight of his chest, the churning swollen chest threatening to make him topple over as he cumbersomely makes his way to Niles. The ache in his head is secondary, the small stubby horns he begins to sprout attributed to his anger at his Lord being attacked. The tail forming behind him feels imaginary, the aching heat nothing more than an afterthought as he charges at Niles, shouting his name.
For his part, Niles remains calm. Far, far away from Ben —and a steep craggy terrain to help him further— he simply keeps another arrow nocked into his bow. He watches as the final effects of the magic begin to take hold of Ben, his transformation into a fat bull nearly complete by the time he sprouts ears; the long fluffy ears that replace his once human ones flick as he laboriously trudges at Niles.
“Niles! I’ll -huff get -wheeze I’ll…” Ben still gaining weight, his already immense growing size has left him nearly immobile; the nearly seven hundred pound bull comes to a near crawl.
“You sure are receptive to the spell. Fitting for a meathead like you. I wonder…” An idea in his head, Niles consults no one but himself as he shoots another enchanted arrow at Ben. He hits another bullseye on the now transformed bull, the shot as easy as hitting a barn with Ben barely able to waddle.
Ben’s body expands even further. He comes quickly crashing down, Ben ending up on his large ass as he fills up with even more fat. “N-no-nnnnghh….” His eyes are closed, Ben pants all the while, more and more of the ground covered by his growing lard. He desperately tries moving, legs unwilling to cooperate besides more than a couple of thrashes. And his arms try for a while before they continue to fill up with fat as well, their already sluggish movements slowing down before they too become unwilling to budge an inch. All Ben can do is wiggle his fingers and toes, those too slowly becoming smothered in lard.
Kaden’s eyes widen. “Come on… up!” Kaden’s arms lift with all their might, tugging at Ryoma to get him standing, thankful for the initial stupefying effect to be nearly done.
“I… Kaden?” Ryoma leans on Kaden. His legs struggle for a scant few moments, the bulk of his four hundred pounds heft a strange sensation before he grows accustomed to it. More of his clothes begin to fall off of his hefty body, shreds of the white fabric on the floor. Ryoma is still growing. More flab accumulates on his bulky self. Especially in his gut, Ryoma's swelling belly sagging past the now destroyed waistband of his pants. He leans only a bit against Kaden, careful to not overtax Kaden's lithe frame. His hands can't help but wander Kaden's exposed torso, his pudgy fingers caressing the silky smooth skin. But he still sluggishly walks, following Kaden’s lead. “Niles did this to Ben?” He whispers to himself, gazing at Ben’s corpulence as it billows out in all directions. His question comes out softly, a hushed moan escaping him as he finds no harsh remark to say.
Instead, as the two finally make their way to the fully immobilized Ben, Ryoma practically topples over, resting on the massive mattress smothering sized Ben. Ryoma’s still growing figure looks emaciated next to Ben.
“Ryoma…” Ben whines, his breath clearly labored.
Ryoma pulls back his flabby hand, his over swollen digits coated in a strange liquid. “Nngh…” Clutching his head, Ryoma feels his own horns beginning to form, the two thick brown horns quickly growing an entire foot above his head. His tail pokes out from underneath his top, the large bushy tail matching the same deep shade of brown as his thick, flowing mane of hair.
“Oh…” Kaden presses a hand to Ben’s chest, one over swollen breast too large to be lifted up with a single hand, said breasts now large enough to smother Kaden’s entire torso as well. “Well looks like you are nothing but a fat bull now after all,” Kaden’s nose twitches, giving the cloyingly sweet milk a sniff. “You do look like you could use some help,”
“Ah-ahhhhhh…” Ben’s eyes roll to the back of his head as Kaden sucks straight from his right tight, his tongue lapping up the torrent of milk. His fingers are clenched around the useless pile of lard while he coaxes more milk from Ben’s needy breasts.
Kaden keeps going. His face ends up drenched, milk spurting out from Ben’s tits as it squirts onto his face and drips down his torso. So enraptured, the kitsune unaffected by the magic in the first place fails to notice the bit of weight he gains, the fattening milk clearly filling out his rail thin body. Kaden gains a few pounds for the first time in his life; his flat stomach soon turns into a prominent belly. He swells with each deep, wanton gulp, Kaden’s leggings become more sheer as he grows. He shifts his stance, needing to widen his legs as his thighs widen, his legs extremely receptive to his growing weight. And with his kimono still undone, his gut is free to sag without any fabric getting in the way. All over, Kaden looks round by the time he finally pulls away from Ben’s chest with a contented burp. Kaden’s lower half is clearly affected the most, his thighs now bulging with a wider stance from his bottom heavy figure. And his once perky bubble butt is filled with fat, the two rotund cheeks sagging from their weight despite how tightly they press up against his pants. His large scarf helps cover up his flabby chin, an extra bit of heft notable on his face.
“Ahhh… Your milk was super thick and heavy,” Kaden sighs, his newfound belly jiggling while he gives it a few pats.
Ryoma stares at Kaden. His own chest churning with milk, he winces a bit from the buildup of pressure. “Thanks for the help,” Ryoma stands closer, the now torn shreds of his top on the floor and giving Kaden free access to his large tits. Kaden wastes no time, happy to help Ryoma with his own problem. Tears run down his pants as he continues to drink, thighs widening with flab as his ass soon begins to lose its shape. With nowhere near as much milk in Ryoma, Kaden has the time to take a large swig from both breasts, Kaden pushing them together as he takes turns lapping up as much as he can from both of them. More and more of his leggings begin to strain as he widens out once again. They begin to tear, small wisps of his porcelain skin peeking past the sheer, black leggings. His leggings also begin to fall down his ass and his kimono fails to cover them with it not being long enough. His arms start to struggle a bit by the end of it, his much flabbier arms quivering from not only the weight of Ryoma’s tits but from the weight of his own arms as well. About another hundred pounds slathered onto his body, Kaden’s pear shaped self is even more apparent on his three hundred pound porker of a body. His kimono is in complete ruins, the sleeves uncomfortably tight around his shoulders and arms. And the fabric frames his bulging little belly, the fabric unable to be wrapped around him any more. He wipes away the last bit of milk that stains his cheeks. Kaden takes deep, heavy breaths, his aching gut suddenly full in such a quick span of time. And even then, the allure of more milk seems to call out to him, Kaden needing to shake his head to clear his mind.
“You taste really sweet,” He grabs his beaststone, energy restored after the long trek. “But let me take care of something,” Transformed into his fox form even faster than the flash of light that envelops him appears, Kaden immediately comes bundling over to Niles.
“Aww, does someone want revenge? Well, go on right ahead,” Niles treks down the rocks, approaching the kitsune that goes faster than he or any horse could ever hope to outrun.
“I’m glad that we’re in agreement then!” Kaden shapeshifts back midair, leaping at Niles. Stealing an arrow from his quiver, he plunges the head of it into Niles abdomen.
Niles lets out a small burp, already prematurely rubbing his gut before any flab can start forming. “I already told you, didn't I? There’s nothing harmful about this. Ooof…” Niles grabs and gropes himself as he feels himself slowly fill out, the transformation much less effective on him with how resistant to magic he is. But it still fills him out, Niles gaining more than an extra hundred pounds onto his svelte, trim body. Like Kaden, Niles has a bit of a pear shape to him, his thighs and ass clearly filling up more than his flabby belly does. But unlike Kaden, Niles’ clothes are prepared for the transformation; all of his attire stays perfectly well fitted from their enchantment, all of it growing as he does. And after a while, Niles finally sprouts his own horns, the extra appendages a silvery gray in contrast to Ryoma and Ben’s. His chest looks more fitting on a woman, Niles’ busty breasts filled out with the milk he’s already beginning to produce. He even pulls down the ruffled neckline of his shirt.
“Well? I’m sure you're dying for a taste,” Niles teases, holding a breast in one hand.
And Kaden obliges. He voraciously guzzles down the bit of milk that Niles produces. He practically sucks him dry, not a single bit of milk wasted with a smaller area to work on. “Hmmm, you taste more refreshing, as if it were cold,” Kaden belches, rubbing his gut. The effects of the milk clearly displayed on Kaden again, he’s gained around fifty extra pounds on top of the already large amount of weight from how much he drank from Ben and Ryoma, Kaden looking more than twice his original size with him clearly being well into four hundred pounder territory. The last spurt of his growth causes his leggings to finally tear to shreds, most of it reduced to scraps. His ass juts out behind him, the large rear too big to properly sit in the chairs in Castle Shirasagi as it even makes his fluffy tail seem small, the upper curve of his ass pressing up against it.
“No one’s ever mentioned how it tastes. I’m sure the mages will love you. And well, a promise is a promise. You three wait here while I get a carriage for you,” Niles waves at Ben, giving him a smile. “I’ll get a couple of rescue staves for you. We’re going to need them just to slowly lug your fat ass around,”
Kaden does as Nilles says and waits with the two much more massive men. Even with his own sudden weight gain, Kaden barely weighs half as much as Ryoma’s morbidly obese self, Hoshido’s king reduced to a barely mobile bull. And next to Ben, both Ryoma and Kaden together pale in comparison to him, Ben absolutely dwarfing his lord and best friend.
Ben no longer even resembles the bulky, beefy body he used to have, his old physique more reminiscent of ax swinging barbarians than a ninja. And now, his body is akin to a prized hog. But even a hog has a semblance of a shape, Ben left an absolute near shapeless blob that’s lucky to have zero furniture get in the way of all his corpulence. Ben’s newfound horns and ears are hard to make out past all his girth. Weighing an astonishing couple of tons, Ben’s gut surges out in front of him; the cascading gut —that’s larger than Kaden and Ryoma combined— consists of numerous rolls that reach further than his feet. His feet are amorphous blobs, the two thick limbs wider than the numerous columns in Nohr’s architecture. His legs are nothing more than adornments, the two of them completely immobile like the entire rest of him. And so are his arms, the two bulging arms far bigger than the beefy biceps they once were; Ben’s arms are permanently stuck at an angle from his bulging belly fat along with his immense tits. Ben’s tits are absolutely immense. Each swollen jug is large enough to be used as a personal seat, his chest now large enough to rival a person in size alone. And his ass surges out behind him. His exposed rear spills out behind him, his amorphous ass no longer the perky, muscular bubble butt. The small, little bull tail he sprouted during his transformation feels like an afterthought on his enormity, the tail practically smothered in between all of his lard.
Ryoma is no slouch as well. He looks noticeably much larger. And not from the fat alone, Ryoma’s tall, thick horns that sprouted from his head making him seem taller as well as more menacing despite his porcine figure. Still mobile unlike Ben, Ryoma seemingly doesn’t have much longer till even that is nothing more than a memory. Especially with the way his gut begins to gurgle, a feast much like the one held once Anankos had been defeated being demanded by Ryoma’s currently insatiable self. His upper half is the largest aspect of himself; his gut sags far past his crotch, the gut grazing his swollen knees, the flabby, grabbable lard sagging far past those as well. The sides of Ryoma’s bulging love handles press up against the similarly bulging upper rolls of his gut, Ryoma’s lard melding together. And his tits are similarly as favored as his gut. The two large breasts are larger than Ryoma’s own bloated face, his numerous chins and necks jiggling with each deep breath he takes. Ryoma has a trickle of milk running down his sagging gut. He does his best to not touch his churning tits, not willing to cause himself to make a mess. His width hides his bushy bull tail, the wagging tail still hard to see behind him.
Kaden looking like a trained warrior next to Ryoma’s barely mobile self, he looks absolutely emaciated next to Ben. And not having been turned into a fat bull unlike the two of them, the amount of milk he’s drunk has left him rather obese. His clothes are in tatters; some scraps of clothes are left on his clothes unlike the two fat blobs of men. Kaden is also bottom heavy unlike the other two. His ass bulges behind him, each swollen cheek wobbling behind him whenever he shifts his portly weight. And his thighs struggle to stay apart with their width despite how spread out his legs are. Kaden’s hands rub against the underside of his sizable gut; his hands rub back and forth as he cradles it. His bushy tail slowly wags behind him, the large, fluffy tail peeking out behind him.
“Hey this isn’t so bad, right?” Kaden takes a seat on Ben’s gut, sinking into his tons of lard. Draping himself over Ben’s girth, he slowly rubs Ben’s flab.
Ben’s face is red, his mind finally snapped free from the magic. “I… dammit. But I failed,” Ben glumly responds. If he were able to cross his arms, he would. But instead, his arms stay uselessly splayed to the side, his leaking breasts pressed up against them. He tries to focus on his failure and not the way Kaden and Ryoma so casually treat him like a plaything, both of them using him as their own personal bed as if it were nothing.
Ryoma erupts into a fit of laughter. Fat jiggles as he laughs, strips of torn clothes falling off his morbidly obese figure. Dribbles of milk spill down Ryoma’s large breasts with him being just as much as a bull as Ben despite his smaller size. “It’s alright, Ben. If it were someone else, then we would all have taken it much more seriously,”
Kaden sagely nods his head, his double chin squishing against itself. “Yeah. We all know Niles plays around too much,”
“Still. It’s no excuse for me to fail,” Ben doesn’t look at either of them. His face feels as red as a fire tome. He eventually lifts his gaze with Ryoma’s heavy breathing.
Ryoma’s tired huffs sound out as he adjusts himself, sluggishly moving his nearly immobile self on top of Ben's five times as heavy enormity, his retainer probably too big to even fit in his room back in Shirasagi. His own exposed flab slaps against Ben’s lake of lard, Ryoma getting closer to his face. “Alright -wheeze then…” Ryoma catches his breath for a moment as he takes a seat on Ben’s tits. And Kaden joins in climbing Ben, Ben wobbling as if there was an earthquake. “If you want a punishment, then you’ll have to be our personal bed for the meantime,” Ryoma squeezes Ben’s cheeks, both hands unable to even properly grasp a single cheek alone. A glint in his eye —the small little sparkle resembling the picturesque beginnings of sunrise fitting for the country founded by the Dawn Dragon— Ryoma slowly leans down, lard squished against lard as he presses his lips against Ben’s. Ryoma is gentle, just like his first few instructions back when Ben had just become his retainer, taking his sweet slow time.
Ben stays still, not that he could lean back from the kiss. But he wouldn’t even if he could, Ben’s blobular face squished against Ryoma’s porcine jowls. His breath is slow, Ben unable to stop himself from pathetically mewling. Even as Ryoma pulls back, a faint grin on his face unlike Ben’s red stricken jowls.
“I can agree with that!” Kaden joins the two, climbing Ben’s immense body and taking a nice comfortable spot on his backside. “I’m sure Ryoma and I will take great care of our new bed too,” Kaden’s fingers rub the tip of Ben’s horns. Kaden adjusts himself, getting closer as he looks upside down at Ben; his orange strands frame his puffy face, Kaden cheerfully smiling before leaning down. Both hands sink into Ben’s arms as he uses them for support. Kaden kisses Ben, his far more rough as he bites at Ben’s pudgy lips. Kaden loudly huffs through his nose. He also gives Ben a breastfull with his position, the Kitsune as taunting and teasing as ever.
Ben fully embraces the kiss, much more ready for the second one. He simply stays in place like with Ryoma’s kiss, Ben completely unable to even shift his head; Ben’s loud breathing matches Kaden’s, Ben moans nearly as loud as he tries to catch his breath even once Kaden finally pulls back.
Ryoma simply hums in agreement. His hands resume in fondling Ben’s jowls, one hand eventually straying to ruffle Ben’s hair. “And we’ll make sure our bed never goes hungry. “Do you find this punishment fitting?” Ryoma and Kaden stare down at Ben.
“Yes…” He meekly responds, eyes wide as Ryoma and Kaden continue to fondle him as punishment, all of them waiting to be taken to the magic facility that created the spell they’re currently afflicted by.

I keep forgetting to write down this FE Fates AU I dreamed of the other night:
About a year after the end of the Conquest route, Kaze - who’s married Corrin, lives in Nohr at the castle with her and her siblings - wakes up… and he’s being held prisoner alongside Rinkah, about to be dragged out to fight Corrin in front of Garon. He’s got all his memories of the future, but he’s back at the start of the plot, and at this point, he’s got two to three weeks to try and fix things before Mikoto is killed and the war breaks out.
Then once I was more awake, I had some more thoughts elaborating on it:
Saving Mikoto is obviously the first thought. It probably wouldn’t be all that hard for him to convince someone that Corrin should not be keeping her weird creepy sword with her. Like even if Ryoma and Mikoto firmly believe that Corrin won’t do them harm, Kaze really could just put the thought in Saizo’s head and then Saizo steals it from her in the middle of the night and throws it in a river. Problem solved!
…it probably wouldn’t be that easy. The limitations/mechanics of Anankos’ invisible soldiers are not well-defined (or…defined at all…) but even if they needed the sword in Hoshido as an anchor point, then even if it’s not at Corrin’s side, Anankos could still send Sumeragi to grab it and then travel to the capital, and the result is still the same.
The best plan would be to toss the sword in the Bottomless Canyon right after Rinkah captures Corrin in the border skirmish, but I don’t think Kaze is thinking that far ahead because. He doesn’t know about Valla. He knows that Garon was a goo monster and Takumi got possessed and Corrin’s sword was cursed and that there’s invisible assassins but he does not know where all of these things overlap. He’s missing critical information.
Like, maybe him being forewarned that an invisible assassin with an exploding sword is trying to kill Mikoto would be enough that he manages to save her. But then that spins this off into a wildly different AU that I’ve got to build from the ground up. And that’s an interesting story! But I haven’t built it from the ground up yet.
So assume Mikoto still dies. Obviously, not something Kaze wants. Something he’s probably be willing to die to prevent. Maybe something he’s trying to plan for anyway. Or at least, he recognizes even with her alive, Corrin’s still going to face a choice. He tries to get closer to her during her initial time in Hoshido - not really sure that he can influence her choice, or even what the best choice would be, but just. trying. something. anything. He already worked through his guilt about her kidnapping and Sumeragi’s death his first time around, so he’s not keeping his distance from her for that reason. It’s weird, because he’s a stranger to her and she’s his wife to him, and she’s pretty confused about why he’s asking her about her life and siblings in Nohr and such, but hey, she thinks, maybe he’s just curious about why Leo and Xander went along with her insistence that he and Rinkah be spared.
So assume Mikoto still dies, and Corrin is standing there facing a choice between her families. And so, three possible paths for her, and for Kaze, who’s already seen one path:
1. Birthright:
Whatever conversations she had with Kaze this time around, whatever thoughts he got her thinking, she doesn’t want to return to Garon. She stays in Hoshido. Kaze probably feels some relief. He doesn’t have to see her kill her brothers this time. He doesn’t have to kill his brother again. Her Nohrian siblings are furious and betrayed, of course, but Kaze has some hope that she can convince them and things can work out - he knows them well. They’re his siblings-in-law. They’re his comrades-in-arms and friends. Corrin, he’s sure, can sway them, and they’ll face down Garon together and it - it will turn out better. Surely.
And okay, no, her Nohrian siblings still don’t seem any less angry the next few times they cross paths - but once they’ve fought their way deep into Nohr, Leo stands down. Elise joins them. Camilla stands down. Kaze is, at this point, feeling pretty hopeful—
—and Xander accidentally kills Elise and then lets Corrin kill him, and Corrin is devastated, and Kaze is devastated and has to swallow that grief because he is not supposed to know them in this timeline. He has not spent a year living with them and repairing Nohr with them, rebuilding relations with Hoshido with them. In this timeline, he’s only known Elise briefly. Xander should be a stranger. He’s mourning them and he has no justifiable reason, to the others, to mourn. So he can’t.
And then they fight Garon and Azura sings herself to death. Dissolved into water and mist. And Kaze realizes: Azura vanished after that fight with Takumi. She left and never came back. Everyone assumed she just walked away, for whatever reasons of her own. But she used the powers of her song and her pendant in that battle, just as she did here, with Garon. Azura, he realizes, a year and a fucked-up time travel adventure later, died while their backs were turned. Azura probably snuck off around a corner to die alone, quietly, out of sight.
Mikoto is dead. Garon is dead. Two of Corrin’s siblings are dead. Azura is dead. Saizo… survived. Fewer innocent civilians were murdered by the Nohrian army. Two victories for Kaze.
2. Conquest:
Everything is playing out the same way that Kaze remembers. It would take a lot for him to stop himself from immediately defecting and following Corrin back. But he refrains and uses his time still in Hoshido to immediately try to convince Yukimura, Ryoma, Hinoka, anyone, that they need to launch an invasion of Nohr. They can’t be caught on the back foot. Even if they don’t do it immediately, Nohr will invade, and they will slaughter surrendering soldiers, slaughter civilians - Hoshido has to go on the offensive. There’s a burgeoning resistance in Cheve. Link up with them and start from there - but Kaze heard what happened in Cheve last time. Don’t expect that their guerrilla tactics will survive the might of the Nohrian army brought down on them. Hoshido has to bring everything it has, as soon as it can. That’s the best chance they have.
And then he defects to Nohr.
Well. Before that, I think he’d probably have to attempt to convince everyone that he has some amount of precognition to get them to listen at all to his insane plan. But we know Mikoto had visions of the future, Orochi is a diviner - these powers exist. It’s weird that Kaze is insisting he’s suddenly developed them, but it’s not impossible.
(“So if we don’t invade, who of us is going to die?” Orochi asks.
The look on Kaze’s face is enough to convince the skeptics that he is very, very serious about this, and that he has seen something that is very real to him, if nothing else. “You… I think you die in Cheve,” he says. “Reina as well. Princess Sakura and her retainers survive - Yukimura - Princess Hinoka and her retainers - you are crowned queen, Princess Hinoka.”
“I don’t think we need to hear more of this,” Subaki says.
“I’d rather die than surrender,” says Takumi, missing - or ignoring - the look already on Sakura’s face.
“You do,” Kaze says.
“Well, then I’d better have died with him,” Oboro says.
“You do,” Kaze says.
“Enough,” Ryoma says, and that is that.
Azura believes Kaze. She knows enough about the strangeness that lies hidden in the world to believe his visions. “And what of me?” she asks him later.
“I don’t know,” he admits. “You… you fight with Nohr, in the end. You’re kidnapped by Hoshidan soldiers who don’t trust you, dragged halfway across the continent - Corrin rescues you. You stay with her. But you… I don’t know what happens to you.”
“Oh,” says Azura, who can assume what this means. She knows the curse of Valla. She knows the consequences of her pendant and her powers. She can assume one of those devours her.
After a moment, Kaze adds, “I defect too.”
Maybe if they’re lucky, Azura will ask him something else about this future, and he’ll say something that makes her realize she can, and should, confide in him. Maybe she’ll realize that her knowledge of Valla can help him interpret his vision of the future. They’ll better put the pieces together.
Maybe, rather than waiting for Azura to be called a traitor for her supposed Nohrian birth, the two of them defect together. Stop at the Bottomless Canyon before they make their way to Corrin’s side.)
3. Revelation:
Kaze does not stop himself from defecting immediately. He hears her proclaimed a traitor, sees her, Azura, and Jakob fleeing the battlefield, and says “fuck it” and immediately cuts and runs after them. Fuck it.
Going to Valla clears up a lot of questions he had about everything that happened with Garon, and Takumi, and everything else, and raises several other questions. But everything’s so goddamn weird already, he might as well spill what he knows. Visions of an alternate future aren’t any weirder than the cursed land they traveled to by jumping off a bridge.

For the ask game- Xanlow 30 and 33
OTP ask game
maybe i should just put all of these under a cut at this point
30: Pet names? Yes or no?
laslow 100% yes. i think he's a man who says darling, lover, my dear. perfect. my love. dearest, even. i can imagine him using babe in a modern context too LMAO and goofier ones i think he could use jokingly at xander just for fun. but i think when laslow starts using them it's very notable to xander. the first time he calls him lover.... agh........ ;A; xander.... okay had you asked me this like half a year ago i probably would've said not really but ive been warning up to it lately. "my love" or "my dear" or POTENTIALLY something like "dove" would be cute. i don't think he uses them nearly as often as laslow does, and i think they're usually reserved for more intimate moments (but not necessarily always?). im always iffy w pet names bc sometimes its hard to make them work. but i think there ARE ways to make them work w these two, it just needs to be like. correct? lol. if u have ever seen me use a pet name in a fic know that i most certainly agonized over it LMAOO
33: What is their wedding day like?
WEDDING DAY SOBS SOBS SOBS okay well.... for one thing i do think laslow is a bit of a wreck. anxious to be in front of all these people, anxious to do well in a culture so unlike his own, anxious for what's to come after marrying a king. i think he'd also have a melancholy about him. his friends aren't all there. even if odin and selena are around, i really think the consequences of staying in nohr will weigh on laslow for like. ever. i don't think he'd be able to shake some of the sadness and loneliness. and on a day like his wedding, i think it'd be on his mind. EVEN STILL!! i think he'd be faced with a lot of joy, too. especially once he's with xander and they're celebrating. laslow probably voiced some of his anxieties leading up to the wedding, so it's not like xander doesn't know that he might have some trouble. and i think he'd do what he can to make him comfortable. xander is probably also very nervous. we know he has a lot more anxiety than he seems to, and a royal wedding isn't going to be without its fair share of stressors. i think his siblings would be trying their damnedest to make sure things run smoothly, and probably have to keep reminding xander that it's *his day* and he doesn't need to be in charge of everything, just this once. he's a little antsy!! i think it goes well, tho. laslow probably does cry and its VERY embarrassing. of course they dance together. i like to think peri helped to make some of the goodies and pastries that're served, too. and afterwards i think that a lot of the stress and sadness melts away, and they're filled with a lot more giddiness and excitement. they're married :) !! and then honeymoon in cyrkensia or something HEHE
#THANK YOUUU#i actually have a wedding wip for them!#but its a modern au where some veeery specific things happen#so not quite applicable for this general idea but hehe. im cooking#on the pet names topic. for a bit i didn't like pet names for ANY ship#bc i kept finding that i didn't think the characters would use them. and then they got used and it just took me outta the moment#but i do think it works for xnlw more than it did for any of my other fave ships in the past#so ive been opening up to em a bit. a BIT. it still has to be in character or else i'll toss them out#thank u again for the ask i LOVE THESE GUYS!!!#dots's xnlw tag#dots answers asks#anonymous

HI NIA OMG !!! 🥰 welcome !!! ✨ AND OMG U LIKE DGM TOO???? please whos ur fav 😭😭🧡
i have a hard time picking a fav from dgm!! when i first read i was a hardcore kanda fan, then i turned into the laviest of the lavi fans, and thru the last few years reever and komuis been in my top 3 😭 tho fr fr,,, klaud nine holds my heart in every sense of the word.. i sometimes feel bad having allen as an icon (and actually talking so much about him) when hes not an im-obsessed-in-a-ill-way-favorite LMAO 🤡 but i do embarrassingly think theyve all grown on me in different ways thru the too many years!! im currently re-reading bcos i bought the newest volume and im at volume 3!!! its so fun to see all the early stages!
headcanons ill go to the grave with? hm.. a lot of them, i think JSJSJW 😭 but my favorite is that lavi has the highest intelligence but absolutely lowest wisdom 🙂↔️ but im major blanking on this one bcos im just so excited 🙇🏻 what about you!!!! 👀
and hmm!! from dgm i would definitely call alma! they'd facetime me on fb so we could watch facebook reels together until i fall asleep. sometimes they fall asleep before me but theyre cute when they sleep so its oki :3
id want to call shinsou from bnha but i actually would never do it 🙂↔️ his own sleep is so fragile id never dare disturb it. instead id call kaminari and he'd tell me about the latest gossip !!! shinsou would get a little jealous i think. in haikyuu id call akaashi. hes suffering too so he always comes over and rants about deadlines until i fall asleep with my head in his lap 🥺 who would u call???? 🧡
SNØFLE IS SO LOUD!!! all the time!!! he loves yapping like me,,,, he does it in a really high pitched tone... he recently learned to hiss (hes seven, so its a little late) and he utilizes that with every guest now !! he has personal beef with my pc. some years ago i obsessively wrote inked coffee (a long multi chapter) where i spent two weeks obsessively glued to my screen. ever since then he makes sure to sit in front of it and bite me (hes toothless tho) if i spend too long. sometimes my friend who stays with me 50/50 is ordered to distract him so i can have pc time............ 🙇🏻
heres a picture from when i cooked dinner today!
#ask.revival 2024#WAAAAH HI HELLO IM SORRY IT TOOK ME A LITTLE TO ANSWER#I WAS JUST SO EXCITED INKINDA LOST MY BRAINCELLS LMAAAAO#nohr.talks#lovenote: nia 👠✨#giving u the shoe for lenalees dark boots but lemme know if u want it changed 🥺🧡

If you had to pick a second trio of awakening kids to put in fates (on Hishido's side) who would you send, why, and where would put them (ie who's retainers would they be and who would they replace or where would they be serving in Hoshido if not retainers).
SORRY THIS TOOK ME LIKE FIVE YEARS TO GET TO, STEDY… i saw it and i was like “ooh i gotta think about this i’ll come back” and then. and then i forgor… BUT ANYWAYSSS
so, to hoshido????? well… i think realistically theyd go down the popularity poll. they seem to want to avoid lucina (lord) and morgan (two of them, picking one means making one and also one robin canon) so next on the list iirc is noire, brady, and gerome. and i think that could work pretty okay, but i think they just kind of all have one fatal flaw here: none of them would be down to go.
the awakening trio works because yeah!! yeah i absolutely buy all three of them being game to go fuck off to a new world because some pathetic man begged them to help save lives. gerome though?? no!! gerome hardly wanted to go back in time to save HIS OWN WORLD!! brady cant fight CANONICALLY, and i highly doubt he’d want to step foot on another battlefield. and noire… i think someone could make a case for noire being willing to come. but i think she’d prefer staying with tharja and protecting the baby version of herself more. and without proper encouragement which would mostly likely come from severa who is. not here. i dont think she’d be too willing. AND I KNOW THAT MEANS IM MISSING OUT ON NOIRE!RHAJAT BUT… come on. you think im gonna give noire to hayato anyways?? no.
so!! a more interesting alternative? kjelle, cynthia, and laurent. i think kjelle and cynthia would be so down if they thought they were gonna be protecting innocents. kjelle wants to fight, grow stronger, and protect, and her natural element is the battlefield. cynthia wants to be a hero and fight for justice, and what better than a country protecting its homeland? as for laurent, i think he’d also like to save people, but i just think this guy would also like traveling around for education purposes. a new land means more insight to gain, and more things to share with his mother when he comes back. so. yeah. perhaps not the tightest reasoning, but i think its much more realistic than like. gerome. sooo
cynthia would most likely stay a pegasus knight? i dont see a reason to change her class. but armor knight is nohrian while sage doesnt exist in fates (technically. im aware onmyoji is the equivalent) sooo they’d have to change. i think theres a few things you could do with kjelle? spear fighter is probably the obvious choice, but i think kinda similar to owain, she’d like a chance to try out other weapons, probably to demonstrate her strength. and for this im strongly leaning master of arms prepromote. yes she’d still have spear access, but having mastered katanas and clubs during her time in hoshido could be really fun i think. as for laurent… lol. apothecary. hes not really here to fight but like. he can. promote him to merchant and he’ll start throwing the army’s treasury at you. dont fuck with him! but obviously kjelle would have armor knight access via heart seal and i think i’d give laurent troubador over dark mage just to reference miriel having that class in awakening but it could go either way. cynthia would probably have… uh. ummmm… fuck. wait. i dont know. sumia gets armor knight and cleric. can we j be funny and give her merc so she has hero access :/// ok thanks
if were following the same format as the og trio, i would j plant them as retainers to make it simple. and… i think i’d go:
kjelle - ryoma
laurent - hinoka
cynthia - sakura
im completely willing to change on this honestly. i thought long and hard about it and then i went “hm. no.” and ended up here. my logic is that of the awakening trio, laslow definitely seems to be the strongest and is nohr’s crown prince’s retainer, and of these three, kjelle is probably the strongest, so same treatment. i also considered the dynamic between saizo and kagero and i just think she’d work the best with them. no bullshit, just work. plus, in a samurai class (moa promotes from samurai) she’d fit in better with ninja than a flier and a uh. a guy.
i put laurent with hinoka and i almost didnt because i think he could have an interesting dynamic with the other royals too. but then i was like “okay. of the three: who would fit into hinokas retainer dynamic that just seems to be ‘giving hinoka a hard time’” and well!!! i think!!! i think its laurent!!! i think laurent would just be engrossed in his studies and the difference in technological progress compared to ylisse (no fireworks but they have giant puppets??? the dolls with the saws??? TANKS????) and hinokas like “uh. hey. did you eat any of ur last three meals?” and he goes “no but i DID make a gun” and azama and setsuna are just like “woahhh thats fucking awesome dude” and i just think if i gave hinoka kjelle or cynthia it wouldnt be as funny. i do things for the bit. always.
and that leaves cynthia for the other two and… i dont actually think she’d go to takumi. i think sakura and her retainers is a much more realistic possibility because takumis trio is just. so. fucking look at them… itd be odd to shove a fourth person in there. it COULD work, but also i kinda just like the idea of cynthia pledging herself to sakura. she’d be all hyped about it too like “the brave warrior defending her princess?!! yessss!!” and sakura would be like. so down for cynthias flower throwing entrance or whatever (with… sakura petals?? yes????) and idk i just think they would be neat. and she could be a nice mediator between subaki and hana who just like. wont shut the fuck up. she’ll either make it better by being a nice middle man or make it worse by also not shutting up except its about something completely different and no progress gets made. both fine outcomes, i think.
and then they fight nohr and go to war with their besties forevs!!!!!!! wooooo!!!! im not writing that out. you decide how that goes. though i think a cynthia vs selena encounter would be insaane… ooh or like an cynthia vs odin justice cabal thing? oouhhvghh… but this post is long enough anyways hi stedy 👋
#asks#long post AGAIN#its fun to consider how some of them might act in hoshido#i do think the imagery of apothecary laurent is really funny though#has no idea what the native wildlife to hoshido is like so dude is just shoving plants in his mouth like#‘this may kill me. but fuck it we ball?’#i think him and azama would get on great.#also i think kjellnoka could go CRAZYYYY… like think about it.#one thing that i dont like though is that kjelle and cynthia do not have supports in awakening#but even if we go back to the original next trio gerome and brady dont either???#i think one of the best parts of THE awakening trio is that they ALL supported and thus all has a foundation to build off of#and thats harder to pull off when youre picking from the rest of them#they have the hotspring convo tho so. close enough?#also ik u said replace but i dont rly like getting rid of any existing retainers bc i just like them all so. WOO THREE RETAINERS!!!

Your latest post relates to something that's been bothering me about Rev ever since I'd played it. Apologies in advance for the length and the FE14 negativity.
BR and CQ dedicate so much time and space to portraying Hoshido as wealthy isolationists ignorant of Nohrian suffering, and Nohr as bitterly resentful in their poverty, all of it being a function of their respective climate conditions... and then Rev walks in and reveals that, actually, the "skies" of Nohr and Hoshido are rigidly scheduled to switch on this one exact day, EVERYBODY is aware of it in advance and has absolutely no comment on it.
This just... really soured me on FE14's worldbuilding, sorry. To be clear, my problem is NOT with the skies swap itself, nor even with everyone being aware and nonchalant about it; rather, I just find it hard to believe it wouldn't have realistically come up in BR/CQ. It's mind-blowing to me that there wasn't a single instance (as far as I remember! please correct me if I'm wrong!!) of a seething Nohrian going "you Hoshidans are being all high and mighty now, but in a year, it will be OUR turn to deny YOUR requests for aid", or a worried Hoshidan discussing how their food stockpiles for the upcoming decades are disappearing fast due to the war effort. No need to namedrop the changing skies or expand upon them beyond that! Just don't have such a monumental lore drop be absolutely out of nowhere!
Am I misremembering something here? Was this handled differently in Japanese? Do you have a different interpretation of it (such as "it's a very brief event and it goes back two hours later")?
This really is my 2nd biggest issue with FE14 as a whole, I think, after the localisation, so I'd honestly love it if you could change my mind. Thank you for your time!
Fun fact: That's one of the few things I genuinely don't like about Fates either lmao. I think it's a wholly unnecessary addition to the plot and only serves to place an arbitrary thematic time limit on something. The opening and closing of the path to Valla makes little sense to me, and I'd rather Corrin just say "hey meet me in this place in x amount of months" as a way to give themself time to gain allies while also not wanting to prolong the war nor give Anankos enough time to stop them.
Though one thing to correct on, the skies switch only for a day I believe, if not shorter. Even then, I doubt the skies switching for longer would drastically change either of the kingdoms' climates or environments enough to the point where the dynamic would switch in a year's time
I don't know specifically if there's a difference in how it's explained in the JP version, I only know that it's still only mentioned in Rev :/

Considering Bernedetta is still up there while Alcryst isn't the top 5 of Engage characters but Diamant is, you can infer Bernie fans and Alcryst fans aren't merging. Ironically Leo and Takumi being in the top 20 could mean you're correct and fans of Takumi and Leo intersect with Alcryst thus he's not getting as many votes because Leo and Takumi are getting them. Look as a Fates fan I really don't get the Bernie love because Fates is a bunch of anime tropes but she's fine just rubs me the wrong way, but she has a hardcore base I suppose
Leo and Takumi have always maintained a top 20 position/top 5-10ish Fates characters so I can't say conclusively if there's any sort of real vote siphon going on. If anything, Alcryst is probably siphoning their votes because people probably figure he has the best shot to win this year.
Also keep in mind, the top 5 is not divided by gender. There are three women taking up three of the spots (Ivy, Yunaka, and F!Alear) so for all we know Alcryst could be the #3 Engage male character behind M!Alear and Diamant. The top five rankings are neat but I wouldn't take them too seriously.
But yeah I'll be completely honest: everyone who was predicting Alcryst would siphon votes from Bernie clearly do not understand the demographics of FEH/the primary target demographic of Bernadetta. And I don't mean this to be demeaning, but Bernie-as-a-character is written in a way that indulges in a fantasy primarily held by straight men. She's the "broken girl who only trusts you and needs you to protect her". That's why her Byleth supports go all in on "omg I'm usually such a mess but I feel safe with basically zero effort around you professor because you're special!" Alcryst, I would guess, was not written with that demographic in mind. He definitely has his appeals to his specific demographics, but I highly doubt there's a lot of overlap between who he was designed to appeal to and who Bernie was designed to appeal to.
Even if they were a 1:1 comparison just with the gender flipped, that doesn't mean they're going to appeal to the same people. The way they're perceived is going to be affected by their genders. For example, a lot of straight men probably find Alcryst whiny or feel like he needs to "man up". If we went back in time about 10-15 years I'm sure they'd even have some choice slurs for gay men to call him. That's no doubt because in our society we view men who are shy, overly apologetic, jumpy, lacking confidence or self-esteem, etc. as weak and shameful. Whereas with women, lacking confidence and self-esteem is not only expected but often desirable. So you can wind up with two characters who are exactly the same but one will be perceived differently based on gender norms and socialization.
Something similar happened with Corrin back in the day. While both Corrins got flack, M!Corrin, particularly M!Corrin in Conquest, got hit particularly hard with criticism complaining about how he was whiny, he was weak, he was stupid, he was overdramatic, etc. while F!Corrin (who Conquest was likely natively written around) slid under the radar more.
Honestly you could do a whole essay on Conquest v. Birthright, the way they were written/localized with a particular Corrin in mind, and what that says about how society treats gender (particularly how F!BR!Corrin doesn't get shit for taking on more """masc""" traits of being headstrong and violent, but M!CQ!Corrin gets shit for taking on the more """femme""" traits of CQ, such as making an "emotional" decision to side with Nohr, being all about pacifism and cooperation, and openly expressing strong emotions of sadness and regret). But idk if I wanna be the one to write it.

feelsy gunter/corrin pregnacy headcanon(s) that were torturing me this last weekend (route agnostic) ~
so i wrote them smarter about protection in YRMR than they they would actually be because i don't know if the senior nohr generation have ever heard about such a thing given garon and his ....many..... concubines exist (lol). both of them kinda... just assume that his swimmers are too old?
.............i'm not even sure corrin thinks that far?
listen gunter was corrin's combat instructor, not an obgyn. anyway they've been fooling around. uh. a lot.
more than a few dedicated fuck marathons leaving them absolutely exhausted but so satisfied, best endurance in the army amiright
the first time corrin gets morning sickness they both just assume she had a bad piece of meat or something
and it's not until corrin gets morning sickness a few times a row that it suddenly dawns on him, maybe he's distractedly looking over her cabinet for something to help the nausea and an old memory of him doing this before (for his late wife) hits him.
and he goes sheet white.
cuz
the thing about nohr
is i really get the class difference is a big deal. less so with a casual fuck or fling, but when it comes to royal heirs? twice-thrice-over? him as not just a commoner but the whole [gestures]?
and he's thinking oh shit oh fuck i fucked up her life
and he's a long term thinker he's thinking as her knight-guardian every worst case scenario possible all in a blitzkreig (not unreasonably), and almost immediately gets the notion that he's gotta. get rid of this stupid fucking mess his fucking feelings have gotten into (there's ways, maybe niles knows)-
and his chest is tight, there's a tiny frail part of his heart erupting into a blinding grief, struggling, and not even allowing himself to the mourn the what-if-
what if again (this tiny precious miracle of a little one and having it torn away again)-
brutally shoving any thoughts aside he sort of brusquely nudges her to go visit a doctor real quick to confirm, she senses something's weirdly spooked him just by how curt and iron-brittle-tense and almost snappish her beloved authority figure of a black knight is all the sudden and it's. not a great feeling. she's spooked, stomach's squirrley still, spooked enough that she misses the way how he looks at her with the kind of terror of having lost before.
he gets her to a doctor without incident, leaves them to their thing and paces like a madman outside. doctor just ironically thinks that he might be the first one to know, (never the father) of course.
(gunter, upon being let back in, ignores the comment about 'when the father hears-', but it's a. it's a dig. one of many many unintentional digs he ignores, and ignores and ignores-)
but when they're alone again - corrin won't let go of him, she's suddenly very touchy/needy and genuinely concerned about him, she's tentatively happy, she kind of always in the naievity saw them as having kids, it just happened ehhh kinda earlier than they assumed?
and corrin mentions this in a stream of nervous consciousness and -
he grabs her. not hard- there's a vaguely rough-edged strangled weakly incredulous tone to his voice she's never ever heard before, never as him as a combat instructor, never as a lover-
'you want them?'
and it hits him here-
she wants his children.
she wants him as their father, she doesn't want to just have it as a footnote and a badly ended fling, she wants him and their child as a real future.
he is not a very emotional (or emotionally demonstrative) man but i think he leans his forehead against her shoulder for a very long time and just.... buries his face against her.
and corrin doesn't completely get the depth of why, but she holds him, her beloved, and they break there, but in that healing, whole way.

Flora and Felicia Birthday Headcanons
It's the Ice Tribe twins' birthday, so of course I had to build up some headcanons for the birthday of two of my favourite Fire Emblem girls ever. Hope you enjoy!
Flora:
‣ Has a hard time adjusting to the rest of the army in Revelation because she doesn’t trust the Nohrians as the ones who have her people under their thumb, but doesn’t trust the Hoshidans either. After all, the food scarcity affected more than just Nohr, and she hasn’t heard so much as peep from the Hoshidans about what was going on there. It also doesn’t help that both groups don’t have a tendency to include her in any war decisions at first, so it just leads to her feeling like they don’t respect her and the rest of the Ice Tribe as a “real” group of people with the same stake in this. It improves over time, and as she makes more friends she grows to appreciate them, but at first it’s very easy to feel left out of the arrangement. Nohr and Hoshido didn't exactly ask anybody else what they thought when they started their war.
‣ Jealous of anyone with a natural charisma. It’s something that she’s quite embarrassed about, but she feels that she isn’t naturally likeable, so she can’t help but be envious of anyone who just has a natural draw to them. What she doesn’t realize is that she actually is quite lovely and people do like her, it’s just that she seems so reserved and purposefully cold that people just assume that she doesn’t want to be bothered.
‣ May secretly feel more comfortable with Gunter to her own father, though she is very ashamed of it. It’s not that she doesn’t love Kilma, she definitely does, it’s just that… well, Gunter tends to be a bit warmer with her. Knowing she’s his successor, as well as with the Ice Tribe still being under King Garon’s thumb, Kilma tends to be a bit colder and more critical towards Flora just because he knows she’s in a hard situation for all of them. He can’t let Garon knows the depths to which he cares for her, and he certainly can’t let her go in unprepared for what she’s facing… so it’s hard for them to have the more comfortable relationship of your typical father and daughter. This, of course, doesn’t excuse Kilma’s behaviour in favouring Felicia — but it does explain why Flora feels closer to Gunter.
‣ A LOT of Flora’s personal identity is something she stakes on being a leader to her people. If you were to ask her what she would be doing if she weren’t leading the Ice Tribe, she’d have no idea. That’s, in some part, what makes the threat of Felicia worse for her — if her father were to pick Felicia instead, then she wouldn’t know what to do. There’s lots of things she enjoys, but her low self-esteem makes her think that she wouldn’t be good at any of them. She supposes if she had to, she might like to run her own business or be a teacher… something where she can take advantage of her capabilities as a caretaker, but not something where she is forcibly reminded of her undesired time as a maid.
‣ Pretty crafty person. She could make all kinds of little trinkets if you let her, and often does when she has the time. When she was little and first brought to the Northern Fortress, she used to use whatever scraps she could find around and make little figurines out of things like wires and buttons. She would then hide them places for Felicia to find. It was a little game they delighted in playing, until Corrin came across one — at first, Flora thought Corrin would be mad… but they loved them and begged to join in on the scavenger hunt for them, too. Flora was reluctant, but eventually agreed, and even started to teach Corrin how to make them when she warmed up to the captured royal.
‣ Favourite trait about her appearance is her hair colour. It’s such a pretty shade of blue, and she likes that it gives her an ethereal quality. Plus, it feels so perfect for a leader of the Ice Tribe to have icy blue locks, so it just makes her feel very strong. Her only frustration is worrying that the colours she wears might not go with it.
‣ Flora’s love language 100% involves feeding people. If you want to know if she likes you, ask yourself how much she feeds you. That’s why in her Festival of Bonds with Jakob, her instinct upon hearing he liked mushrooms was to give him as much as possible. She has a handful of good recipes that have been passed down to her from her own grandmother, and another good chunk that she learned from Gunter, so anybody she comes to love will always have a happy, full belly. Be warned if it’s your birthday, though — she will feed you so much, and even if you try to refuse, she won't let you get away without putting more on your plate. Who wants thirds?
‣ She doesn’t really get cold that easily. It kind of varies between Ice Tribe people, but Flora doesn’t really feel it in comparison to some of the others. Something has to be really cold for her to feel it, or artificially cool — so she can feel another Ice Tribe person’s magic, but the cold weather isn’t too much of a bother to her. This is a skill that amazes many others, and has made her a favourite for helping out on snowy days. She actually doesn’t mind having to do the hard work in the winter weather… it’s a different kind of challenge from the maid duties she does, so it’s refreshing. Helps her feel well-rounded.
‣ In some way, Flora is so poised and perfect because she practices it. She thinks a lot about how she comes across to other people, how to appear strong and graceful and leaderly, so she tends to practice and decide what works and what doesn’t. If anyone were to catch her doing this, she would try and play it off… and then let her cheeks flush and duck her head as she walks away, muttering to herself about how she’s such an idiot. Anyone who has caught her doing it finds it impossibly charming, though they wish she wouldn’t criticize herself so harshly.
‣ When Flora prepares snacks, she does like those cute little snacks you see on Pinterest that parents do for their kids. I’m talking apple snails made with peanut butter and chocolate chips, oranges and celery made to look like little pumpkins, and hard-boiled eggs shaped like bunnies. It’s all adorable, and it’s one of the things that made Corrin instantly like her when she came to the Fortress. She’s very proud of them, and loves that people enjoy them so. When she learns that Hoshidans also have their own ways of making cute foods, she is delighted and insists on learning — then she can add apple bunnies and octopus hotdogs to her repertoire!
Felicia:
‣ Somewhat privy to gossip in camp. Maybe not as much as someone like Silas, but her pleasant, non-judgemental demeanour and status as a maid tend to make people comfortable enough to just… tell her things. Of course, she lives by a code of secrecy and would absolutely refuse to tell anyone about what she's learned, but it is still interesting for her to know all of the different things going on in camp. You... probably still shouldn't trust her with a crush, though. Not because she'd tell them, but because she would probably try to wingwoman a tad too hard on your behalf, and it would just become really obvious.
‣ Has an ore collection that she deeply treasures and only shares with people she really likes. She's been enamoured with pretty stones since her days in the Ice Tribe as a little girl, as the mountains back home were just full of them. When anyone would bring her one, she would add it to her collection right away. Although her original collection is still back in her home village, she started a new one while she was at the Fortress. It's perhaps not as impressive, but it does boast some rather pretty gems. Her most treasured one is an opal she received as a gift from the Nohrian royal siblings, as thanks for taking such good care of Corrin over the years. She loves it so much, she keeps saying that she wants to get it made into a pendant someday.
‣ Her life motto at this point is basically just “be scared, but do it anyway”. She’s already so goddamn nervous about everything, so to get anything done, she kind of has to just duck and run. She might have to do it screaming and crying from fear, but gods damn it, she is going to do it! It really catches her enemies off-guard sometimes, because yes, this woman did just kill three soldiers with ease, but she's also been sobbing the whole time?
‣ Very curious about the rest of the world, but is very much cautiously curious. She doesn't have a great deal of experience with the world outside of the Northern Fortress, and Flora, Gunter, and Jakob protect her from... many things, so she's eager to gain new experiences while still keeping a respectable distance. Thankfully, she's smart enough to take it slow: she works up from 'playing with big dogs for the first time' to 'learning how to use Hoshidan weaponry'.
‣ Had no idea she was a source of insecurity for Flora simply because Felicia thinks Flora is literally the best. People have tried to get in with telling Felicia by saying that she’s more approachable and fun to talk to than Flora, and have been surprised when she got really offended and started loudly defending her sister. As far as Felicia is concerned, Flora is one of the most wonderful people on the planet and she doesn't get why anyone wouldn't like her. She didn't notice Gunter and Kilma praising her for her skills in battle and not doing the same to Flora, because she was so used to hearing her be praised by other people for other things. It's why she struggled to understand why Flora would seem to have these fits of grumpiness with her... And honestly, that she has these little moody moments are probably the worst thing Felicia could say about her sister.
‣ Wants to wear make-up, but can’t really because she’s so clumsy it always turns out terrible. Usually, if she's going to a special event, she'll ask another girl to help her out with it, because her hands shake and her viewpoint just never seems to be good enough, and if there's a way to break a wand of mascara, she will find it. She still tries her best to practice, though... even if no one will see the results. It's just how she is. She wants to get better at things that her clumsiness interferes with, even if they're small things, to prove that she can do it. It's an uphill battle, but she's got the rest of her life to fight, right?
‣ She’s not so good at drawing. Sculpting? Amazing. Her supports with Hinata prove that. When it comes to putting pencil to paper though, every thing just comes out like wonky tween girl cutesy. She comes by it honestly, and knows her drawings aren't very good, but still has a tendency to doodle whenever you put a piece of paper in front of her. As always, her mind just kind of wanders, and before you know it, her paper will be full of awkward-looking bunny rabbits and flowers with just a few too many petals.
‣ It’s really not easy to make Felicia angry, or perhaps it’s more true to say that it’s not easy to get her to express her anger. She’s more so someone who deals with “wet anger”, where she cries and her voice shakes and she can’t really find it within herself to fully fight back. Felicia believes anger is destructive, particularly as someone from the Ice Tribe who could freeze someone alive with it, so she often chooses to remove herself from the situation and cry it out so nothing gets out of hand. It usually wouldn’t anyway, but it’s a precaution. If you get her angry, really angry, though… you should be worried.
‣ When it comes to the war of Nohr vs. Hoshido, Felicia doesn't really have a lot of prejudgments. Being a more clear-cut example of Nohr's food problem, given that she loses meal privileges to foot the cost of things she breaks, you would think that she might be more upset with Hoshido... but she also recognizes that the Nohrians are going after the Hoshidans the same way they went after her people, too. Plainly put, she refuses to judge people individually on either side, because she genuinely believes it is something that they can work out. People can and do change, and maybe it's just the lack of understanding that's there that makes things the way they are? That's why she follows Corrin in every route: Corrin feels the same way she does, and wants everyone to be safe and happy. She trusts her friend's judgement, even if it might do for Felicia to think a bit more for herself.
‣ Loves to dance. She’s horrible at it, though. It’s the clumsies. Still, in the comfort of her own space, that doesn't stop her. When she was a little girl and the other Ice Tribe women were doing their dances, she used to spend hours after trying to imitate them. She never did learn, but she holds out hope that someday she might be able to dance among them for real. If she's lucky and keeps trying, maybe she'll be able to dance as apart of Flora's chieftain ceremony in the future.
