Queen Lydia Lili’uokalani (Kaʻiulani's aunt) 

Kaʻiulani's aunt was the last reigning monarch of Hawaii. Queen Lydia Liliʻu Loloku Walania Kamakaʻeha ruled from  January 29, 1891, until the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom by a coalition of American businessmen, led by Sanford Dole, on January 17, 1893. The composer of "Aloha ʻOe" and numerous other works, she wrote her autobiography Hawaiʻi's Story by Hawaiʻi's Queen during her imprisonment following the coup.

Raw Cranberry Relish, from Weetamoo: Heart of the Pocassets. Cranberries are one of my favorite parts of the Thanksgiving meal but we usually make it as a sauce. This way is much less prep work, as the food processor saves a lot of time. What’s in the bowl is half of what I made.

There was no citation for this recipe so I don’t know if it was provided by the author Patricia Clark Smith, or from elsewhere.

Favourite kind of thing is when a young girl series has HISTORY. American Girl dolls? They each have their little backstory, and books if I recall.

The Diaries book series by Kathryn Lasky? Have a whole diary written by them that does not skip out on the dirty details of life at their time period. Same for Dear America, and The Royal Diaries.

I need another version of this type of thing I’m begging for it

Kaʻiulani at Great Harrowden Hall, c. 1892.

In 1889, it was deemed appropriate to send Kaʻiulani (age 14) to England for a "proper" education and remove her from the intrigues and unrest between Kalākaua and his political opponents.  She and her half-sister Annie were sent to Northamptonshire and enrolled at Great Harrowden Hall, a boarding school for young girls, under the elderly schoolmistress Caroline Sharp.

Construction of the Cathedral began in 1226 under the rule of Ferdinand III, and the final Gothic contributions were made in the late 15th century when, in the year 1493, the vaults of the central nave were completed during the time of the Catholic Monarchs, the joint title used in history to describe Queen Isabella I of Castile and King Ferdinand II of Aragon. It was modeled after the Bourges Cathedral, a Roman Catholic cathedral, dedicated to Saint Stephen, located in Bourges, France, although its design, with five naves, resulted from the constructor’s desire to cover all of the sacred space of the former city mosque, which once stood at this location, with the cathedral, and to cover the former sahn (the mosque’s courtyard of Islamic architecture) with the cathedral’s cloister.
