I'm about to fall asleep, so this might be dumb but Talon Poker Night (or DA equivalent), Lucanis is winning by a landslide. No one has realized that Spite is helping him cheat. He, of course, does not keep any of his winnings. he merely wanted to play a fun prank on Viago and Teia. It was Rook's idea.

so in my world state’s version of datv, my lavellan is a lot more involved in the story (she and rook are dual protagonists who alternate POVs), and solas also gets out of the prison far earlier (and doesnt betray rook to do it) and since he and lavellan reunite there, when he returns to the lighthouse she comes with him

but now im thinking about how funny it would look in-game since rook can barge in on anyone at the lighthouse at any time

every time he walks into solas’ room where hes watching over my exhausted lavellan sleeping in his lap he’ll give some dialogue variant of “hello rook. do you fucking mind”

Emmrich doesn’t pull hair. There’s no yanking, sharpness, or brutishness when those long fingers curl into your locks.

He will guide you by your hair with a firm, confident hand, applying just the right amount of tension to get you to go where he wants you to, when he wants you to.

If you have very long hair, he likes to spool it around his forearm and tilt your head so he has unimpeded access to your exquisite neck as you ride him.

Lucanis (and by extension, Spite) have been helping Bellara with her romance novel. Flowery language and smut metaphors lead Spite to some surprising conclusions.

As someone on the autism spectrum, I remember struggling with interpreting metaphor as a young person A LOT. As soon as it was introduced in Veilguard that Bellara was writing some smutty fanfiction, the first thoughts I had were "Oh, the neurospicy gang is gonna struggle." (Mainly Taash and Spite.)

We're missing the potential of a Dellamorte reunion after Rook gets taken to the Fade. It's been a week and a half, and Lucanis hasn't slept in three days. Lace is dead, Taash is perhaps the only person more catatonic than he is, Emmrich and Neve have come up with an insane plan to recreate Solas's dagger to give them a chance at ripping open the Fade to find Rook, and Davrin refuses to listen to any word that Rook might not be coming back, the only thing keeping Lucanis alive is Spite. So one night, Spite takes him to the only person other than Rook who can help.

It's not Neve, because Neve is busy with a case: getting Rook out of the Fade, so she and Emmrich are so consumed none of the others have been able to get them to even eat. No, it's not Neve, Lucanis finally collapses from exhaustion on Rook's sofa after being less than useless(or thats how he feels) to everyone for a week, and he wakes up with his hand on the knocker of Viago's door.

For a moment, he thinks about just jumping into one of the canals, but then he knocks, and Viago opens in his dressing gown.

"Lucanis?"

"I need to talk to Illario."

And Illario is grumbling about being woken up in the middle of the night, but then he sees his cousin, no his brother's face, and suddenly the last twenty years haven't happened. Suddenly they're kids again, and they've snuck into the villa kitchens after a particularly brutal training day with Caterina, and both of them are hurt and exhausted and hopeless but at least they have each other.

"Lucanis?"

"She's gone, Illario. I lost her. And I never told her I love her."

Lucanis is 100% the passport dad of the group. He has a color-coded folder of everyone's documents, a pen, a backup pen, and snacks. He’s already memorized the gate number, and honestly, he’s just tired. Tired of all of them.

Meanwhile, Harding and Taash are at the duty-free perfume counter, trying to huff their way into new allergies. "What if I sprayed this directly into my eyes?" "Only one way to find out."

Davrin and Assan have declared war on a vending machine that ate his money.

Emmrich is in the VIP lounge, where he’s sipping a $20 coffee and having a full-blown academic debate with Johanna who happens to be taking the same flight. It’s about something absurd, like "Does the number of airport Wi-Fi bars correlate with societal decay?" Hezenkoss did not come to play, and now the barista is their unwilling moderator.

Neve’s at the bar. She’s on her third martini and halfway through some case files, glaring at anyone who so much as looks like they might strike up a conversation. She’s also definitely pretending she doesn’t know any of them.

And Bellara? Bellara is just gone. Like, not even in the airport anymore. Somehow she’s ended up in a completely different country. There’s a 50/50 chance she’s fine and living her best life, or she’s single-handedly causing an international incident. Wherever she is, she has absolutely no regrets.

Emmrich who dedicates his future academic publications to you, writing the sweetest notes because he is so grateful that you support and encourage him in his pursuits.

Emmrich who crawls back into bed after his morning workouts with Manfred because after all that happened he knows you don't like to wake up without him.

Emmrich who reads to you when your eyes are too tired to focus on the words after a long day, his voice soft and calming because he knows you fall asleep easier to the sound of his familiar voice.

Emmrich who trusts you to hold him through his anxiety attacks once it's evident that he cannot always hide away as they come, focusing on the press of your lips to his temple as a way out of the painful thought spirals.

Emmrich who makes sure you never part ways after an argument because the last time you did he almost lost you in the Fade and he can't stand the thought of you thinking poorly of him should the end of your time together ever come unexpectedly.

Emmrich who accepts that you and Manfred are his family now, that despite his fears it is better to live a finite time with those who love him, those who he loves, than spend eternity all by himself.

HC: Lucanis and Spite in a Relationship

I am so down bad for this stoic Crow and his quirky demon, so this is what I think they would be like in a relationship.

Lucanis might not visibly respond when you flirt with him but his thoughts are going a mile a minute on the inside

He is so protective, always on guard in your defense, no threat is too big if it means keeping you safe

He remembers the little things about you: favorite foods, small habits, how you like your coffee or tea, which shoe you put on first things like that

If Lucanis is protective then Spite is possessive. Nothing can have you, nothing but them and Maker help anything that stands in the way

You are always welcome among the Crows, Lucanis would have it no other way, if you are there you are shown respect

Spite will state your mood by explaining how you smell to Lucanis, something that is a bit odd but he uses to know what you need

Lucanis likes to buy you little things, if he sees something you may like he picks it up. Spite does this as well but he chooses the oddest things. What do you mean you don't need an eye-patch, everyone likes eye-patches!?

Lucanis is a cuddler, he sleeps best pressed up against you, his face close to yours, his body closest to the door

Spite finds out you like to watch his wings and now they are around all the time, if you kiss in public he uses his wing to screen you from view

The wealth of the Dellamorte family is at your disposal, you are welcome to the estate and all the amenities that are on it. Lucanis likes nothing more to see you sitting in the gardens or enjoying any of the rooms in his family home

His grandmother takes to you, even if she pretends not to at first. She becomes the kind of woman that drawls about having/adopting grandchildren and makes sure that your clothing fits right

Lucanis doesn't have to worry about Spite wandering him off when he is asleep, because Spite only wants to be with you. He'll stay in the room you're sleeping in, on guard or entertaining himself in some way

He shares his coffee cup with you and you alone

In true Crow fashion and especially because he has someone to show off for Lucanis makes sure to always be well dressed, hair brushed, beard trimmed

Spite gets irritable if he goes too long without the chance to talk to you himself

Wherever you are from Lucanis makes sure to learn recipes that you will have known from your culture and takes a great deal of pleasure in cooking for you personally

He gets a certain thrill out of you wearing his clothes, doesn't matter what it is. Spite likes it just as much.

Over time Lucanis gets more blunt with his flirting, usually accompanied by his dry humor

Though he does not like to be touched, you are the exception, the only one he doesn't flinch away from

Lucanis likes to mutter exit strategies in your ear when entering a new space so you're prepared for a fight

You bought him a knife and now it is his prized possession that he keeps on him all the time

Spite makes it his goal to make you laugh, telling strange jokes that don't tend to land on others but work on you

If you are harmed, Lucanis and Spite both agree that the only course of action is to make them pay in blood

You know Emmrich’s ring? The one with the large stone that he says was his Father’s last gift to him? Yeah, that one.

It’s the only piece of jewelry he owns that isn’t gold: it’s actually something inexpensive like brass or copper. The large, shiny stone? Not a ruby or emerald - not even a less valuable gem like garnet or tourmaline. It’s just coloured glass.

It’s costume jewelry - you couldn’t get a copper for it if you tried to sell it in the market.

But it’s all a traumatized kid had left of his Dad, and despite all of his hard-earned wealth and success as a grown man, he wears that cheap ring that leaves a green band on his skin every single day, no matter what.

Lucanis Lunchboxes: Inedible Minestrone

What if Lucanis packed Rook lunchboxes with little notes in them throughout the main story?

On the map, a "!" icon appears in the hallway just outside Rook's room in the Lighthouse. A temporary chest here holds a one-of-a-kind Valuable and a letter from Lucanis that is added to the Codex. Triggers after the Act 1 pantry scene, Lucanis romance only.

[SPOILERS] Read the letter from Lucanis below the line:

Spite's first attempt at cooking. He hasn't gotten the hang of it quite yet, but he's trying! What would you want Spite to try to cook for you? (He's open to suggestions.) I'm planning on writing more of these with the longer-term goal of modding these notes into DA:TV.

Maybe one day he'll even make something edible. We're all rooting for him.
