I'm okay, thanks for asking, I was just thinking about this codex entry

then got carried away about how a romanced Lucanis and Viago would meet to discuss just how many enemies Rook made the day they scrambled the Antaam's plans like an egg and the two assassin's would scheme together; how to keep Rook safe once the blight and newly-resurrected-elven-gods contract is complete (because we all know that if they're still cringing over Zevran, they're still foaming at the mouth over Rook) and they both get to the point that they're like "death, death is good" and start to plot the demise of everyone that simply looks at Rook wrong.

How Viago might start making a little more poison than he usually does. How Lucanis would be very interested in what Bellara knows about masking flavors; how he would absolutely bring Bellara to one of their meetings. And Bellara would only ask why they wanted to know once, before offering her services to them any time they needed.

Idk it's just kinda cute, makes me kick my feet a lil. Like they would murder for Rook <3

RANKING THE VEILGUARD COMPANIONS AS SPICY PARTNERS

This is definitively correct and I will not be accepting feedback.

In seventh and last place, we have our sweet boy Lucanis.

He's so into you. Spite is at least the same amount of into you. Lucanis though, is wildly inexperienced. Dude blacked out seeing Rook of any gender without a top on. A single titty would put this man in the hospital.

As a person who has slept with a lot of people, enthusiasm does not always compensate for skill. Lucanis would be very sweet, and apologizing because this has literally never happened to him before.

In sixth, we have Bellara.

Bellara is wonderful! But, similar to Lucanis, she's pretty inexperienced, and not in a position to acquire more experience without Rook’s involvement. She did date Irelin, but Irelin also doesn't give "exciting spicy partner" vibes. I feel like she would be enthusiastic about figuring out what you both like! It would just take some time to get there. She would also be very open to using magical aids. Electrical magic? Hell yeah.

She's also absolutely a bottom and if that's a consideration for you, she would be very good at it.

In fifth, we have Harding.

Harding is one long conversation away from being down for some Actual Freak Shit. She's already down, she just doesn't know what to ask for.

HOWEVER. Harding has precisely zero game, so it may feel a little silly while y'all figure your stuff out.

It will be good, it will also be clumsy and sweet.

In fourth, Taash.

Taash is similar to Harding, but has more sexual experience. They are also a confirmed top. Those are rare! They are coded to feel like they're in their early twenties, and extremely athletic, so stamina would not at any point be an issue. I've seen some comments that their bluntness would be bad for dirty talk/having game - those people didn't have to take a minute to do some deep breathing after the Taamlok scene, and also do not have taste. Taash will break you in half in a good way. Taash is a capital T Top and honestly, I respect it.

In third, Davrin.

Davrin, in a different group, would be the top pick. He's cocky, confident, has game for days. He's not a snack, he's a meal, and he is very aware of that. In my experience, banging Extremely Hot Dudes can go one of two ways; it's either sex you will wake up thinking about ten years later, or it will be like, extremely mid. I have faith in his ability. He is also a top, but I feel like he would also be into another top so there's a Fight (America's Next Top Model theme plays).

Thrill of the chase, indeed.

In second, Emmrich.

I know Emmrich is a canonical sex god. I know a bunch of y'all are extremely horny for Dr. Hose Goat. He caught me on the back foot a couple of times.

I also understand that this is a community that is very into Hot Authority Figures Who Remind You To Drink Water. There's a top shortage. I know what you people are like. I get it.

In first, it's the internet's wife, Neve Gallus.

Neve reads people for a living. She's also hot, emotionally unavailable, and would rather make out than acknowledge she has Actual Human Feelings. She's so locked into everything going on around her that she knows what you want before you do.

She's also creative at problem solving - no good surface? No problem. Just...not her desk, probably. There's a lot of notes to get displaced, and she has a hard enough time with the wisps. She will not allow your dumb ass to be too horny for organization.

Also - frost magic for you sensory seekers, and the ability to slow down time. I feel like we're all on the same page about the possibilities.

Your brain will melt out of your ears. You will not be able to stand. For days, potentially.

She's also a switch, depending on the vibes presented.

Emotionally unavailable romantics will ruin your life.

I need to be feral about Dragon Age Veilguard for a minute. Does the "Romanced Bellara, who gets kidnapped by Elgar'nan and blighted" path have me so feral I am chewing on my enclosure? GOD YES.

You two have JUST had the big heart to heart before starting the final missions. Bellara and Rook are CLEARLY in love with each other, but still haven't committed. Bellara struggles with these things and the right words, and Rook is (in this case) from a military family and an awkward dork who prefers hitting things with her sword. EMOTIONS ARE HARD BUT MY DORKS ARE TRYING

and then Bellara gets kidnapped by Elgar'nan.

and Rook is so IMMEDIATELY DISTRAUGHT that she has to be physically restrained by DAVRIN, a man described as a "walking mountain of armour", because they KNOW she's about to get herself killed trying to kill an IMMORTAL ELVEN 'GOD' trying to get Bellara back. Everyone on this team knows Bellara and Rook are crazy about each other.

Then ROOK disappears. Into Solas' fade prison. And the first thing she sees? The pull of regret that hits hardest? It's not Harding. It's not even Varric. It's Bellara. It's the only time Rook's voice breaks. Meanwhile the echo of Bellara in the fade is tearfully saying 'You picked me to die." Rook powers through, breaks the regret prison's hold (with the rest of the team and Varric's help), but it's still weighing on her.

But once they seize Minrathous, the damndest thing happens. THERE SHE IS!! And...Bellara tries to kill her. MORE IMPORTANTLY is what Rook does next.

The lyrium dagger isn't used as a weapon very often by Rook. Primarily, against the Evanuris and potentially Solas...and here's Rook, using it to attack the blight tendrils that have Bellara trapped. Because it's THAT IMPORTANT to free her.

And just the looks Rook gives Bellara from that point forward.

Rook almost lost the love of her life. And with Bellara blighted. Rook still may lose her. And Bellara only kept going because she had Rook (and Cyrian) in her head telling her to hold on, constructs of the two in her mind as the last bastions of everything she ever cared about. Even Neve faded out. But not Rook. Never Rook.

And these two will NEVER lose each other again, whether they have a day or a century. Rook is the only living person that got Bellara through it, she is the center of Bellara's emotional life.

And Rook is there, and every moment she looks into her...what was Cyrian's word?...vora'shivan's eyes...when she sees past the anxiety and the blight scars and sees Bellara's soul?

Rook would follow Bellara Lutare to the ends of the universe and into the abyss beyond. And what's the translation of the last thing Bellara says to Rook before they kiss?

Your love humbles me, my eternal waking dream.

Not even ancient gods bringing thousands of years of planning during their imprisonment or the god of deceit, lies, and trickery could break these two up, could sunder their love.

I am feral about these two. It's the slowest of slow burn, but on this path you finish the game KNOWING that these two absolutely love each other, to the bitter end and highest joys, AND that Rook is already committed for both 'in sickness AND in health'.
