Dating the Uchiha boys - the down sides Headcanon list [Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Obito, Uchiha Shisui x gn! reader]

Sasuke Uchiha Oh boy, where do I even begin?

A lot of his issues - most of them begin with him having a little brother inferiority complex.

He is a master through effort. While Sasuke can be and is rightfully proud if his achievements, his pride can easily fall apart when he doesn't receive recognition from his family.

Since he's so fixated on his family's approval, he tends to blend out any other significant relationship while working towards his goal.

In short: Proud but fragile ego.

While he would never hurt you physically or aiming at hurt you emotionally or psychologically, when Sasuke is in a reckless mood or angry he lash out such harsh feelings on you by being abrasive, grumpy, or saying that your help is useless.

Sasuke has a hard time processing feelings, mostly he processes them via anger.

Sometimes looks for fights/arguments when he's in a foul mood. Another person making a joke on Sasuke's expenses. Expect that you need to drag Sasuke out of the room before things go out of hand.

Positive note: He is capable of arguing with you. Or let's say: Your argument can end in aggressive shouting matches where he can be an insensitive ass. Afterwards he will stew in his anger and a bit of selfrighteousness before he slowly considers that there might be truth to what you said...

Here's the issue: Sasuke does deeply care for you. He doesn't actually date you as much as he fell in love with you and got over himself to ask you to stay by his side. His kind of love is quiet, more expressed in action, due to the fact that he isn't good at expressing himself with words. So he does seem withdrawn, or it doesn't seem comprehensible why he keeps you around four outsiders. (Even for you by times.)

Homeboy can change and get better but the process demands time, clear boundaries, and patience...

Once figured out that he's really good at sex and for a while tries to use to distract you from arguments.

You have to be the mature one in this relationship.

Generally, it would be better if you had an established friendship where most qualms between the two of you are settled before you feel ready to take on all the complication with romantic problems...

Itachi Uchiha

Constantly under pressure from family as oldest son. By times the family and social expectations will interfere with your private life planning.

Itachi has a hard time fighting back, by times he doesn't even know that he should. Sometimes all the demands loaded on him take up too much of his energy and health to have the energy to fight back. Other times some things are too ingrained in him by his upbringing too properly reflect on how adequate they actually are...

When you try to explain to him that he should not take up everything or say no, he needs a long time realizing that this isn't a(nother) request for your happiness but that you see unhealthy patterns, dynamics, and demands put on him. He's barely used to people being concerned for him for his own sake.

Is unconscious of him guarding himself from his lover. He will act as everything was fine without opening up about things that worry him. It takes a long time to slowly remove the bricks from his walls.

Another family issue is his relationship with his younger brother: Sasuke is one of Itachi's top priorities, even when Sasuke messes up. Their dynamic is not always harmonic either because Sasuke feels so often inadequate, if not jealous when compared to his brother.

It's quiet asymetrical how much work you've to put into Itachi standing up for himself (and your relationship) against his family but he will immediately do a 180 flip for his little brother, no questions asked.

Can't take breaks. Tries not to let his composed façade crack, so even if he knows if he's overworked, struggles with health, he's too stressed out by all the things he wants to get done to stop for his own sake.

At risk to implode from external pressure.

What the two of you need is private space where time belongs to you and into which his family can't just barge in as they please.

It's disheartening how little he would actually open up to you, be vulnerable. It's about him feeling safe around you to be himself. Give him time don't push him but set boundaries how much you can bear to see him struggling with the weight on his shoulder.

Obito Uchiha

a lot of problems begin and end with Obito's deeply seated insecurity. Things like his work or making his idealized visions give a strong sense of control and mastering the situation so they became his compensatory tactics. Not that he can't learn and rethink small things but he can be so stubborn, some criticism may reach far deeper into is self-confidence than you or even he actually expected.

Since his childhood he spend so much time in isolation, he can also be emotionally immature and trying to fill the void from all the things he has been deprived of.

Emotionally immature when it comes to romance. In the beginning of your relationship his state of mind is basically the one of a hormonal teenager.

Being with someone in a romantic way fulfils multiple needs for Obito: Being finally shown affection he's so starved for, well um... "physical yearning", finally a stable constant in his life.

May not seem like it but only functions at work because there hardships of life can be solved with a clear goal. Tendencies to be a workaholic to bury emotions he doesn't know how to handle.

In the beginning you're basically an idol for his emotional salvation. You having diverging expectations, or don't need or want all cliché romantic gestures but Obito being himself is something he needs to learn.

Needs basic sex ed. He knows a lot from having read Icha Icha during down time but oh boy. Some moments when you first had sex were baffling if not hilarious with some ideas Obito had.

So headstrong. When he's convinced of what he does is correct counterarguments are either ignored or escalate into heated fights. Takes counterarguments

But also actually very insecure. Obito is so insecure about conflict, too self conscious of his looks, of past mistake that he tries to overcompensate with any other quality, only to then implode that he's not enough in any way.

Obito needs to learn that differing opinions don't mean immediate break up or the end of the world. You'll love him through the thick and the thin.

He will need to learn that pushing you away because of self loathing is what causes the rift, not what he hates himself about him.

Shisui Uchiha Most stable of all of them.

but like all of them his family, more accurately their expectations for other family members, are a source of omnipresent pressure.

Since he's not part of the main family expectations are not as high but he too has to act the proper part.

Tries to keep you away from family affairs to the extent of him wanting to do with them as little as possible.

Itachi's fine, Sasuke's around too but these two are the exception. Even they won't talk about family matters though.

So there's always a part of his life you feel excluded from, the part Shisui only shares with Itachi.

Easy going in relationships but kinda tends to overlook underlying problems. To Shisui being with you is a refuge from family drama where he's the happiest, and well... compared to what the Uchihas can be up to any problem can be minor.

But Shisui is understanding though. If you clearly speak your mind how you're unhappy with the way certain things are, he might be able to get around to better things.

But you also need to be an active part in your time together. Whereas Shisui's cousins have very personal flaws, Shisui himself is a very reasonable person. You can grow together.

A bit secretive. Nothing major that would burden your relationship still you wish he'd be able to talk about uncomfortable things a bit more...

Don't swallow up frustration but look out for the right time to confront Shisui with things that bother you. If he feels stressed with work and family matters he can get quiet aggressive in tone.

Character of the day:

SUPERBOY PRIME AKA KAL-EL AKA CLARK KENT

Some information about him:

He is from Earth-prime where superheroes are fictional except for him.

His backstory is the same as the canon superman, however Jerry and Naomi Kent discovered him in a New England seacoast town instead in Smallville.

Superman exists in this universe, so kids made fun of him for having the same name as Superman, calling him Superboy because he didn’t have powers.

When Kal was at the beach with a girl he was dating, a cosmic vortex opened up and Superman came out, awakening Kals kryptonian powers. Superman gave him a crash course on how to use his powers, then Kal followed him to the battle field for the Crisis on Infinite Earths, not realising that he will never see his Earth again.

First date headcanons/imagine for Obito

Tw: None. Just fluff and chaos/crack, cuz I feel like bullying good ol' Bito today and needed something to cheer myself up

Plans everything down to the tiniest detail. From the time and location to the stuff you will be doing. Obito is a perfectionist and aims to impress his darling.

He gets incredibly irritated when someone points out that he's going overboard and "doing too much" for his first date

When it finally comes to taking his darling out, the first thing he'll do is give them a large bouquet of their favourite flowers. He may or may not have bought up the entire stock of them too

He'll take you to the Hokage monument, where he has planned a nice picnic, followed by watching the sunset and some romantic stargazing afterwards for the two of you

What makes it extra special is the fact that he had prepared the food all by himself. Which is a huge deal, considering Obito is not the greatest when it comes to cooking. He does manage to heat up water in a kettle for his instant ramen without burning it, but the rest of his kitchen is basically just decoration

That's why he took cooking lessons from the grannies and gentlemanly advices from the grandpas of Konoha, to sharpen up his cooking skills and perfect his mannerism

When you two arrive at the top of the Hokage mountain, the first disaster occurs right away; a wild animal has ravaged the site and eaten all the foods he had prepared, including your favourite dessert

This leaves Obito in shambles and looking like a soaked puppy that has been kicked multiple times. He just wanted to impress you and now he stands there with absolutely nothing but the remains of what was supposed to be the perfect day

He tries to do some damage control and quickly comes up with a back-up plan to save not only whatever dignity he got left, but also to make the day still somehow enjoyable despite this bitter setback

That's when the second disaster comes buzzing right towards you. Literally

At first, it's only a few bees showing interest in your flowers. No worries, right? But it gradually gets more until Obito swats one particularly pesky bee away from your face

Aggravated by that action, the bees suddenly got a new target: You

Realising his mistake, Obito grabs you by the wrist and drags you with him all the way down the flight of stairs and back into the village

During your escape, you try to keep the pursuing bees at bay, using your bouquet as a makeshift swatter, which doesn't prove to be effective and only angers the little insects more. Resulting in the both of you getting stung

Not wanting you to get hurt further, Obito scooped you up and acted as a shield to protect you from those nasty stingers and therefore took the most of it

In a last, desperate attempt to distract and hopefully get rid of your pursuers, you drop the bouquet, which once again proves ineffective

It wasn't until Obito had reached the entrance to the Uchiha District that the aggressive pursuit suddenly came to a stop, thanks to the Aburame clan, who had been informed about a rampaging bee swarm

Hungry, sweaty, exhausted and with a shit ton of burning bee stings everywhere, Obito sets you back down

You can tell that he's completely devastated and humiliated by today's events

"I am so sorry, Y/n... I swear! I had everything planned out. The picnic, the sunset, the stargazing... And for what?"

Unable to bear the sight of Obito being so disheartened over what happened, you suggest to take care of his stings for him and get takeout and just have a stay at home date

Obito, genuinely surprised that you didn't ditch him after that fiasco, happily agrees to your suggestion

While taking care of the poor guy, he does his best not to complain about the pain caused by the stings, even though sitting down not only hurts like ass, but, in fact, also hurts his ass

Once you're done tending to the pincushion Uchiha, he sets up a nice little candlelight dinner, with some old candles he had found in one of the kitchen drawers

It's certainly not the most romantic first date, but it's not a complete flop either

fic notes, "Don't Be Scared" edition

still chilling after my exam + halloween party with friends + an entire day spent playing hsr (the concept of "the horror of a weaponized delulu girl" is certainly something interesting), so let's go over another Obidei submission of mine, now for day 2 ("My Dear" is pretty simple, so I don't really see the reason to elaborate on that one)

- about the title: kind of on the nose, but both Deidara and Obito tell "Don't be scared" to another, but in vastly different circumstances, one was trying to calm down his, assumingly, skittish partner in the face of his senpai's death, while the other is trying to stop his victim from fighting against his treatment (though in his delusional mind he is trying to simply reassure his disoriented partner)

- i'm still laughing way too hard at the fact that all three fics written for this prompt used cave-in as near death experience of the day. like. are we really that predictable

- so, for as long as I remember there was a pretty heated discussion on why and how Deidara is capable of tolerating pain that well. and it's not just about this fic with Deidara lower half getting entirely crushed and him still being alive and making a coherent talk with Tobi, it's EVERYTHING about Deidara's time alive in Shippuden. we've got: left arm being crushed in the middle of the battle by Gaara and then left untreated for DAYS, right arm being severed with elbow getting sent on a quick date with Obito, being punched in the fucking face by Naruto who was well on his way into getting into his biju chakra cloak mode, somehow fighting off four more taijutsu-oriented shinobi after all of that with nothing but a kunai, hiding underground for like another day with all of his wounds untreated (and even had the strength to strangle Obito with his thighs but tbf that's probably the most in-character thing for us Obidei shippers) and that's just in his debut arc. The battle with Sasuke also featured such wonderful gems such as exploding a bomb right by his head and seemingly not get a concussion, GIANT FUCKING SHURIKENS in his elbows, flying off of an actively exploding minefield and still having the time to get PTSD flashback. like, Deidara's ridiculous at ignoring pain, and this happens constantly without any explanation by Kishimoto, to the point people reading the manga would get into heated arguments at how much plot armor this blonde twink has. anyway, I've seen fics explaining this as Deidara being specifically trained by Iwagakure to endure absurd amounts of pain. and you know what, I like this headcanon, gives characterisation for both Iwa methods and Deidara's childhood, we love it. of course, generally such ability is an asset, but in this particular case I really cranked it up to 11 to make Deidara regret having it

- ah, yeah, before I forget, the "Third Tsuchikage's greatest shame" thing - so fun fact, it's actually canon that Deidara is Onoki's student. the reason why this isn't a well-known fact and actually oftentimes is assumed to be headcanon is because for some god knows reason this bit of info was only in the editor's note at the beginning of that short battle between the Iwa gang and Kabuto with Edo Deidara, and these editor notes at the beginning of the chapters a) official English translation never does this notes b) these notes are removed in the Japanese volume version, so it's only in the weekly magazine version of the chapter and you pretty much can only find it on the fantranslations of the chapter at the time (because obviously they didn't have the volume version in that moment)

- one of the main ideas I had for this fic even when it was in its conceptual stages was to ensure that the twist with Obito continuing the messed-up cycle of ripping out kids from beneath a cave-in and forcing them to continue living through artificial celss of questionable origin wouldn't be too obvious. so about 70% of the fic is dedicated to Deidara being in agony and trying to find some meaning in what he assumes to be his final moments - and all of that is done to take away reader's attention from HOW Obito sees the situation (his own actual fear of being crushed alive randomly rearing its ugly head, his senpai and by that point love interest protecting him at the cost of his safety, the similarities between his own accident and what is going on now - finding Deidara dying under the rocks and caring more about him than himself, Deidara asking him to take something of his, etc etc) and how his mind jumps to the conclusion that he found the most desirable for Deidara - alive, by his side, literally just like him. even if it's against Deidara's will lmao. it was pretty fun writing whump for the first time and I'm pretty proud how it all came out.

- and yes pre cave-in both of them were kind of crushing on each other. Deidara truly liked Tobi! in the end, it's one of the many tragedies within this fic - Deidara could have actually been with him romantically, but the decision to save Tobi in the moment and Obito's subsequent... everything made it impossible. Deidara liked his silly kohai Tobi. Deidara is terrified of Akatsuki's leader and his Savior, Obito, and what he had and would do to him. ironically enough, this one act of love made him lose both everything outside his love for Tobi and his love for him too. he survived and yet lost everything, but it's of no consequence for Obito, because in his mind Deidara should be happy, just as he is

- "but now frailer than a glass figurine which he accidentally knocked off the shelf as a kid back in Tsuchikage's residence" - still stand by my headcanon that Deidara is the adopted kid in Tsuchikage's family lmao

- "He was supposed to turn into his greatest, most amazing creation. Everyone would be gazing at him in his final fiery moments. In a matter of seconds, his existence would become nothingness, a transformation so wonderful that Deidara would start to shake from the thrill of it whenever he would think of his own end." - I think Deidara suffers from suicidal thoughts and spends a lot of time idolizing the way he would take his life, meaning C0, fantasising about the way it would feel etc etc. It's kind of a combination of his own ideology that's pretty much "good things aren't supposed to last long", his own unhealthy obsession with being recognized as someone amazing and capable by literally anyone he comes across and generally the trauma he has from Iwagakure (again, they TRAINED the kid to endure pain to the point he shrugs off torn off arms, this at least implies some sort of torture on a literal child)

- "He remembers his hunting lessons and how the scared wide-eyed deer sounded in their last moments." - so this is something that I have planned for BSSM AU too, but Deidara also had training in hunting, because from what little we know about Land of Earth, the terrain is really fucking rough, so I wouldn't be surprised if they put a lot of emphasis on survival training + Deidara ran away from the village and spent at least a year on the run completely alone (hi Itachi who already had a spot prepaired in Akatsuki), and I have some doubts that he would be earning S-rank nukenin pay off the go, likely he had to come by with whatever he could catch + he's been partnered with Sasori who doesn't care for human urges, thus if they had to stay the night somewhere in the wild, it would literally be just up to him to find some food for himself

- another thing I think Deidara loves the most is flying and the skies, particularly how free it all makes him feel. the sky actually relates to two things in this fic - Deidara's identity and choice (the last third of the fic the sky is gone as he is in a cave, so Deidara's identity and him being able to choose his fate are also taken away from him) and Deidara's Akatsuki ring (ironically, "Blue" which is the same as the color of the sky)

- now regarding what is going on with Obito - the initial explosion that caused the rockfall that pretty much killed Deidara sent him flying forward, so he was indeed not hurt. it doesn't mean that after landing some distance away from Deidara he was mentally well. he was already pretty badly heaving just from being reminded of his own cave-in, so sometime he was just there, trying to calm down and stand up (preferably not throwing up in the process). after a while he does manage to pick himself up and goes off to look for Deidara, realizing that he doesn't see him anywhere nearby, trying to fight off the panic. at this point he's just barely hanging onto Tobi persona, it's kind of his safety net in this whole situation. unfortunately, he discovers what he discovers

- btw even if Tobi's persona is somewhat up, he's constantly messing up the way he should be adressing him. I made a point to have Obito adress him as "senpai" (okay for Tobi) or "Deidara" (not okay for Tobi)

- "The sky is still a large beautiful blue sheet as he recalls it to look. But now something bright appears in his vision. He could have mistaken it for sun, so bright and orange above him" - Deidara loves the sky, but something bright and sun-like covers it here. later Obito's Sharingan will also become the sun that "destroys" Deidara and knocks him out

you can see why Obito starts to freak out :) but I love how stupid the name Tobi is. It literally is just drop the first kana from Obito's name and change the order for the remaning two. seriously, how is this man supposed to be the secretive mastermind if that's the best he can come up for his goofysona name?

- in this particular paragraph I did somethin very mean. if you don't see it, look at the last three syllables in Deidara's phrase and see a certain name.

- "Senpai, come on, we'll get you out of here, we'll think of something, you'll be fine too, we just have to find someone..." - back to what's going on in Obito's mind - he's still trying to keep up the mask of Tobi who can't do anything to save Deidara in this situation (unlike Obito, but Deidara can't know that Obito exist, it's too dangerous for the plan), thus throught the fic he keeps repeating that he's gonna find someone to help senpai and it goes on until he can not reject the reality anymore and has to make the decision to follow Deidara's will or to save him at all cost

- "Maybe Tobi is punching at the earth beneath them, digging his gloves deep into the cold brown mass, or maybe he is grabbing at his head, pressing his palms into it while he continues mumbling something completely anguished and incomprehensible, something about this not supposed to be happening, or wailing as he asked again and again why Deidara did this, he didn't need to, he can't be hurt, he can't be dying, Tobi didn't want this, Tobi didn't mean for this to happen, not again, not again, not again, not again..." - yeah, so that's pretty much Obito having a breakdown from everything above - both his memories of Kannabi and the circumstances of their current situation

- "Deidara remembers with strange clarity how he dreamed of something like this when he was just a little boy, forced to stay in the village as the war raged on beyond its walls and his only window to freedom was just the bright skies above" - another piece of random trivia, but based on the calcs from my timeline, Deidara would have been born in Iwagakure in year 61 after Konoha's foundation, while the Third Shinobi World War was from year 58 to year 63. He would've been kind of way too young to remember the war itself, but I can't imagine that in the following years kids would have been allowed to leave the village in any capacity + the conflicts might have been ongoing, just in much lower intensity

- "Tobi's voice sounds strange - both raspy and high, both over the top and endlessly tired - but that's probably Deidara's hearing starting to fail." - and here's Obito starts to lose his ability to keep up Tobi's persona

- "But now, when Deidara feels like his body is merging into one with the earth beneath him (oh, the preachers in Iwagakure would be elated at his thoughts)" - that's another headcanon I have, but now in regards to general religion in Naruto World. It's kind of annoying how we've got all of these Great nations so and so forth yet they seem so similar. anyway, time to fix this, so obviously people from Land of Earth place a lot of value on earth and such. I like to believe that it's actually a tradition for them to bury their dead (unlike Konoha where it's pretty much confirmed to be cremation), so yeah, Deidara kind of points that out, with him dying and feeling like he's becoming one with earth

I believe that mercy killing would, in fact, be quite commonplace in Naruto world, either because it's impossible to get your comrade to safety, their wounds are too severe, the mission will be jeopardized, and so on and so forth. What Deidara asks of Tobi is pretty normal and what he truly think would be the best for him - to stop suffering in shame like this, to be able to finally rest, withouth much pain.

- so this here is pretty much the turning point for Obito

Unfortunately for him, he is dealing with Obito who vehementely hates this world and its ways. Would Obito still choose to activate his Sharingan and turn Deidara into another half-human half-something creature like him, binding them together, if Deidara didn't ask for a mercy murder from Tobi? Probably yes, but Deidara could have passed out by that point, making it much harder for any future machinations on his dying body, so Deidara would have had the chance to save himself as a person and die if not for that one plea. In the end this acts like a trigger in Obito's mind and cements his decision to save Deidara at any cost, because he will not allow this world to take away his love from him again, he will not play by its rules

- "An unfamiliar voice cuts through the ringing in his ears. It's deep, dark and raspy." - and from that point onwards it's just Obito with his Sharingan on, asking Deidara to look into his eye to make sure he is unconscious for what is going to follow

- now onto what I imagine actually took place after Deidara was placed in a genjutsu (which pretty much put him into a coma-like state to ensure that the shock from Obito's machinations wouldn't kill him): Obito didn't have any of the Zetsus nearby to use as the material, so, while sitting and thinking when Deidata was still awake, he realized that his only choice is to use his own body, particularly the artificial part. that was both the quickest way to go, but also possibly would be the least painful if Obito's experience with purely artificial cells was to go by. "humanized" cells in theory would be much more compatible with Deidara's body, so that would be a win win. however, he also had another issue - Deidara's wounds didn't match his, so he couldn't instantly produce organs and parts that would fit Deidara, in the end he decided to simply create as much cells as he can and attach them to Deidara, at least while he'll be transporting him to his own nearest hideout + due to how much larger he is, it would probably be better for Deidara's body to recreate the missing parts on its own, simply shaping Obito's cells into the necessary form (kind of like clay, which would probably be insanely romantic in Obito's mind). after knocking Deidara out, he immediately took off his clothes and pulled out a sword from Kamui that would fit the task. he caressed Deidara's still wet cheeks with his left hand, promising him that it's all going to be okay soon, while his right half was rapidly expanding and his hand was meticulously cutting off Deidara's elbows and torso, attaching his own grown tissues onto the wounds he was making. finally, after it was all done, with Deidara attached to him, he teleported them into the hideout

before Deidara woke up, Obito's been holed up in there for about four weeks, completely ignoring anything Akatsuki-related and pretty much attacking Zetsus when they tried to get closer than they should have. Obito doesn't need food or water, so every single day he's spent by Deidara's side, waiting for him to wake up. the first few days Deidara was still attached to him, and Obito didn't want to separate from him (it became quite comforting to have Deidara attached like that, like he's completely safe and isn't going to ever leave him), but in the end Obito decided that Deidara's body needed to heal on its own (he can't be too selfish, now that Deidara will become a Savior like him, the world of dreams would need him away from Obito, no matter how much Obito dislikes that), so following days Obito would just sit by Deidara's side, watching him for hours. something in between monitoring his condition and gorging on his beauty.

as for Deidara, after being separated from Obito everything seemed fine for a while, artificial tissues have sucessfully mended with Deidara's, yet soon things started to go wrong. not in a life-threatening way, at least for someone with such cells, but the actual forming process was taking a while (not that Obito had any good time estimate on that), Deidara started breaking into fevers, having frequent spasms, getting fits, so on and so forth. it was then when Obito discovered that he could still merge with Deidara, even after the separation. he took it as a sign from above that he is doing something right, so whenever Deidara would look even mildly uncomfortable (come later weeks he would do that at any given opportunity) Obito would enter him, connecting his senses to his, thinking that like that he is taking some of Deidara's pain, focusing on thoughts of pain being gone. Deidara would usually calm down after this, so he must have liked that a lot, right?

during one of such fits Obito discovered that Deidara's eyes looked strange now, like there are some darker patterns appearing in them, and realized that his own cells were keeping some of his DNA intact, affecting Deidara. another sign for Obito that he was doing something right, that the two of them were meant become one on their ultimate goal. he's found his partner, the one with whom they'll put an end to this world together. now besides simply watching Deidara, he also started doing experements on his various tissues, testing them and being amazed at how much stronger they were already becoming.

and now we come to Deidara's awakening

- and yep after having to go through something like that Obito takes a while to get to his "I'm in hell" moment. Deidara is thrust into it immediately, but in the end both of their experiences are the same

- Obito was in the room when Deidara woke up, but he was simply watching him in wonder, elated at finally being able to see his senpai return to him. he's still in that overly excited state when Deidara starts to panic

- whenever Deidara shows fear or just something related to not wanting to be here, with him, Obito simply writes off it as confusion after being asleep for so long. when he can't do that, he starts using his favorite excuse of "Deidara is still brainwashed by that horrible world, but it's okay, I know he doesn't mean any of that, he likes me and he wants these things"

- it's not the point of the fic, but it's sprinkled here and there: Obito is very much sexually aroused in this scene. he wanted Deidara even before that, but now, when it's just the two of them, and Deidara is going to be his forever partner on this mission, he's barely restraining himself, telling himself that it's too early and Deidara is far too weak for something like that (not to mention lacking most of the necessary parts for the process). unfortunately for Deidara, it's pretty much a free game after his full recovery. and once again, Obito finds an excuse for any of his bullshit, while Deidara can't fight back against what Obito wants if they are merged, so... well, you can guess that besides the general psychological abuse Deidara will end up experiencing sexual abuse too, with Obito sincerily believing everything to be consensual.

aaaand that's about it? a tragedy all around. Very little remains of Deidara, both physically and mentally. As the time passes by, he loses most of his aspirations, except trying to make attempts at his life. Obito, continuing to believe this to be the effect of this cruel world, frequently makes Deidara merge with him, puts him in a genjutsu and shows him their ideal world that would be here soon, "reminds" him of how much they love each other, and for a time it helps, with Deidara becoming quiter and dazed for some time. But in the end the cycle repeats, and Obito is still pushing onwards, forcing himself to believe that he's pretty happy like that, with Deidara remaining by his side, and he can reach his real happiness in the eternal Tsukuyomi, it's just this hell getting in the way.

Both of them become more and more miserable with each passing day.

For the Tsau? He is rather silly in his own way

Gave a speech at Minato and Kushina’s wedding thanking Kushina for saying yes so Minato could finally shut up about her 👍

He wears custom socks with their dogs faces and crocs most days

Nuzzles Rin and Obito over kisses on purpose to make them lower their guard for an actual kiss. They never know when it’s coming and that’s fun for him

Bought a shirt that says ‘sugar baby’ to wear on dates with Obito because he thought he wouldn’t actually do it to goes perfectly with his crocs and socks

Tells Sai harmless misinformation because he takes things so seriously and Kakashi gets a goof laugh out of hearing the kid repeat it

Had a intervention with Naruto/the shop; asked people to raise their hands if they haven’t fucked Naruto. He wasn’t surprised by the outcome 💀

Has a few paper fortune tellers in his desk for when Yamato is being indecisive, anxious, or wants date ideas w/ Genma. Yams says he’s too old for that but let’s Kakashi do it every time

Has worn the wigs that Sakura leaves in the shop just cause

Intentionally refers flirtatious clients to Sasuke and states he’s single. every. TIME.

Does the same to his father. “He’s single.” “Kakashi” “loves walks” “KAKASHI!!” This man will list every single person he knows if someone tries to flirt with him.

Leash dad that also dresses the kids up as dogs for walks. He thinks it’s funny and cute, plus the kids have a lot of fun doing it/don’t complain about their leashes when they’re dressed up too

Will howl to get the dogs howling. 9/10 if the dogs are howling, he started it

Makes Tako sausages for the kids lunches and gets really happy when Rin makes one for his lunch too.

Participates in Ryu’s dojo, which means he’s also having to demonstrate things with Gai

Not so silly; but can’t actually mimic most singers and has a wide octave range, so has helped Chiha rehearse singing the female vocals with ease. He’s also told her she can’t tell anyone if she wants him to keep helping her.

Can’t pass on purchasing books with outlandish titles so his bookshelf is full of the most random stories

Gives Gaara dog stickers anytime they meet. He noticed Gaara smile the first time he gave him one and it’s become a thing now (Gaara isn’t even sure why it’s happening, but he keeps them)

Is in a small competition with Tsunade over the scones at the local bakery. It’s usually with him or her getting the last one because of their schedules

Thankfully, the Uchiha behave themselves when they come to his shop, but he does have a kids chair for Shisui sense he won’t stop hanging out in the shop whenever he feels like. Has his name on it and everything

Enthusiastically participates in the floor is lava. Has pushed Obito, Chiha, Naruto, Minato, Kushina, Yamato, Genma, Sakura, Sai, Ino, and apologetically placed Rin into the “Lava” in order to win

Also refuses to lose in twister, zero shame or embarrassment. He’s honestly a big kid when it comes to games 💀

In which the two always fought for your hand, but one was eventually chosen.

You were the 'middle child' of sorts

Having been taken in by the former lightning hashira after your original master retired, you were ripe with energy neither were familiar with

The only difference was that you had nearly mastered the breathing, but lacked enough strength and agility to go through the final selection just yet

At first, Kaigaku was unsure of you, since you could do the one move he couldn't along with all others, you could be a threat to his hierarchy

But you spared your position no concern, in fact, you seemed oblivious to the lineup Kaigaku had made around the dojo; strongest to least in his own terms

Most annoyingly was that you were nice to Zenitsu

And rather than training with him, the strongest, you chose to work with the weakling

"He's unpredictable if he doesn't know anything, Kai! I already know everything you can do."

Something about that send him in an angry spiral, and that was when the first flash of jealousy ripped through him

Kaigaku will do anything to get you to talk to him, look at him, train with him, fuck, hes getting desperate over here

You didn't ignore him, but it was frustrating that just like your master, you regarded him and his inferior as equal

Zenitsu appreciated your company, since you spoke to him without the disgust others held, and without the formality his master had when having any conversation with him

And training with you was fun, because you didn't push him too far

You got through final selection a year before Kaigaku, and two before Zenitsu

Even so, between every mission you'd come back and share your growth with the two, telling them all the vital information you learnt through experience

Kaigaku ate everything up, and used it to practise for his, which he easily passed

Zenitsu had a rougher time, finding the stories you told horrifying, and he always worried about your safety

But you sending him off did help him feel loads better, even if only until he actually got there

And from there, both only saw you sparingly

Zenitsu wrote to you the moment he got any of your letters, so you were always in touch

Kaigaku wrote to you only when he defeated a demon, though those letters eventually stopped coming in as of a few months ago, right when you joined Zenitsu and his friends

You went with them to Mount Natagumo, meeting the new boy Inosuke, and eventually to the entertainment district, which you made many fond and dire memories

You were so distracted with every clash meeting its peak, that you hadn't thought of Kaigaku once, not until...

"Why are we stopping, 'Tsu? We need to hurry..."

You were in the infinity castle, being led by crows until they seemingly disappeared

Both of you sensed something, but it didn't feel unfamiliar

"All this time, and I've finally found you, princess!"

The voice was unmistakable, though a tad deeper and distorted than you remembered

Zenitsu never liked him, as much as he respected Kaigaku for his strength, it made sense that he'd become a demon out of his own selfishness

The confrontation is messy, the two clashing while you stood, paralyzed at the idea of harming someone who considered close

"Useless! You're nothing now, you lost your humanity, and the girl you love is mine! So just go to hell already you jerk!"

Now that stopped him too, though his attack continued to crack at Zenitsu's skin

It was then you swooped in to grab onto Zenitsu, holding him dearly, your engagement ring will visible on the hand wrapped around the hilt of your blade

What Kaigaku felt was beyond anger

Nothing but molten rage

Even after you'd both gotten up, throwing attack after attack, his mind was on nothing else

Even after his head had been slices clean off

Even as Zenitsu was saved from the fall and his head laid in your lap like a soft pillow

Even as Yushiro healed the cracks in his skin with you cupping Zenitsu's cheeks in worry

He couldn't stop wondering how the biggest loser he'd ever met took everything from him

Nohara Rin's Romantic Relationships (in my canon-compliant headcanons)

She ever since age 10 has a crush on Kakashi, who never gets the chance to romantically like her back since she dies 3 & a half months before her 14th birthday. Her romantic feelings towards him have grown strong enough by age 12 that she felt the need to tell him.

Rin at age 5 meets Kakashi and Obito in school then within a month has become Schrödinger's best friends with the latter. Obito at age 7 starts to have a crush on Rin, who for at least 7 years loves him solely as 1 of her 2 best friends (the other is Kurenai who also is Rin's platonic rival).

If Rin didn't die from her canon self-sacrifice, there are many ways the trio's relationships coulda resolved themselves:

Kakashi at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Rin then they become a couple with Obito supporting their relationship;

Kakashi at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for both Rin and Obito then tells them and the 3 negotiate on what'd work for all of them, e.g. Kakashi-x-Rin becoming a couple with Obito supporting them coz he doesn't wanna date Kakashi or Kakashi dating both Rin and Obito coz Obito decided he'll give it a try despite not having romantic feelings for Kakashi or no-one dating anyone etc.;

Kakashi at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for both Rin and Obito then doesn't tell either of them thus all 3 are in a sort of relationship limbo where none of them know the full story;

Obito at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Kakashi who develops romantic feelings for both him and Rin who develops romantic feelings for Obito then either they all tell each other and form a romantic triad or none of them tell the others and they're in a sort of relationship limbo where none of them know the full story;

Obito at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Kakashi who doesn't like him nor Rin back in that way thus it's those 2 being one-sidedly in love with Kakashi whilst Obito also is one-sidedly in love with Rin;

Obito at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Kakashi whilst the ones he had for Rin fade away thus it's solely those 2 being one-sidedly in love with Kakashi;

Obito at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Kakashi whilst the ones he had for Rin and she had for Kakashi fade away and Rin develops romantic feelings for Obito thus the one-sided romantic feelings situation from canon gets reversed with Kakashi's lack of romantic feelings staying as the only constant;

Kakashi at age 14 or older develops romantic feelings for Obito thus there's a romance triangle with Kakashi's crush on Obito and Obito's on Rin and Rin's on Kakashi all being one-sided;

Rin's one-sided romantic feelings for Kakashi at age 14 or older stay and she slowly develops one-sided or mutual romantic feelings for Senju Yamato (formerly Tenzō after having gone by the name Kinoe, birth name unknown), Mitarashi Anko, and/or Katō Shizune;

Rin's romantic feelings for Kakashi at age 14 or older fade away and she slowly develops one-sided or mutual romantic feelings for Senju Yamato (formerly Tenzō after having gone by the name Kinoe, birth name unknown), Mitarashi Anko, and/or Katō Shizune;

Rin's romantic feelings for Kakashi at age 14 or older fade away and she somehow ends up joining (the original or the new) Akatsuki then develops one-sided or mutual romantic feelings towards Konan.

(These headcanons are canon-compliant in the sense that there's never a moment in the manga or novels where it's explicitly made clear Nohara Rin can't be polyamorous and/or biromantic and/or bisexual. The only thing canon has confirmed is that Rin had romantic feelings for Kakashi who never got the chance to find out whether he reciprocated the crush or was 100% solely friends with her. Shizune never dated anyone in canon, so she's as up to interpretation as Kakashi; same goes for Yamato & Anko. Konan was implied to have a mutual crush on Yahiko, but she was never confirmed to specifically not be sapphic. Obito, of course, has his canon one-sided crush on Rin; the manga and novels never indicated that it was impossible for her to ever like him back in the same way.
