Funny when you actually write down the canonical ages of characters in a canon heterosexual romance, sometimes you get reminded of how male female age gaps in fiction (and sometimes irl) can be normalised because sexism- and I was generous enough to take Leia and Han's ages from sw6........ And not the 22 / 37 it is in sw5-

Always give me a bit of the creeps when I remember that about this ship fkfkfk if they had met when they where older I wouldn't really care.... But man Leia was 19 in sw4-

Thankfully it's fiction, and I can go back to forgetting Han solo has only a 4 year age gap with his step father... and at least they didn't met when Han was a full on adult and she was a child, and he didn't raise her looking at you very popular sw ship- ok I'll stop fkfkkf

Belated Pocky Day Maul

twilight of the apprentice is really just L after L for maul. rejected by another potential apprentice. got his ass kicked by the guy he just freshly blinded. lost the game of being the most dramatic motherfucker on malachor to Darth Drama Vader himself. didn’t even get to keep the holocron. but he did get to commit a couple murders! so maybe it’s not all bad!

While it's on my mind: Maul is so envious of what Sidious has going on with Vader. Of course, he is. Not only in the way of "he was my master first" but also "I would literally kill to have Obi-Wan fall into my trap so effortlessly." And he'd be pissed he couldn't go ask him for advice. He's caught up trying to make a perfect plan for revenge instead of just taking said revenge. He's so enraptured in the idea (bc, after all, it is a fantasy, and nothing ever lives up to the imagination) that he can't stand the thought of it not going exactly how he wants from start to finish. (That's another hurdle: it would all be over with, which is somehow worse to think about.) For so long, he wasn't sure he'd ever see sunlight again, let alone have the means to carry out all the terrible, sinister things he'd been thinking up to fill the time and numb the pain.

+ He would hate Vader's guts that much more because he's had Obi-Wan in ways Maul hasn't. He can't stand this because (superficially) he let Obi-Wan get away, and (sincerely) he can't stand that someone has had Kenobi and known him in a way he has not (in any form. it could literally be as much as "once he told me he missed his padawn braid, which is why he'd grown that mop of hair" or smth and it would set him off. What that looks like is up to you.) Vader knows the most hushed of secrets about the Jedi; the jealousy eats Maul from the inside out.

++ It's unbearable when Obi-Wan's hard-headed Jedi ways don't falter despite him doing his best to be a terrifying Sith; the gentler and kinder Obi-Wan gets, the more Maul seethes.
