I highly recommend listening to this podcast episode. Especially if you're someone who is entering the new year feeling hopeless or like there's nothing you can do to make anything better.

Actually, I recommend listening to their entire four episode series on finding hope in the wake of the 2024 US election (Season 9, Episodes 11-14)

The short version is: The science shows us that humans are "kinder, less divided, and more cooperative than we realize". Most of us underestimate how much other people care about the same issues we do and how much of an impact we can have in fixing those issues when we try. But really, listen to the podcast.

People always be forgetting Percy Jackson is canonically an anarchist with a strong sense of community who prioritizes minority kids and was an eco-activist in high school to make Percy more palpable and i'm not comfortable with that

Percy Jackson canonically being so hardend by his trauma from growing up a millenial autistic-audhd dyslexic kid in New York with a poor background,a deadbeat birth dad,an abusive stepdad and gender issues he developed a sense of anarchy so strong he's literally psychologically incapable of even thinking about selling out no matter the divine influence will always be more metal than anything Luke Castellan did and Dark Percy aus could ever pull.Almost 20 years and Book!Percy still holds up,the bar,standards and Riptide to incels' throats
