Mystic scans the path they left behind, unaware of the thick foliage ahead.

Mystic: Woah—?!

Ruki: Oi...!

Mystic stumbles. He barely catches himself on a branch.

Mystic: Kuh... uuh...——

Ruki: You're trembling. Are you okay?

Mystic: For fuck's... Do I look okay?!

… Damn…

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I——

Ruki: Why aren’t you healing?

Mystic: … I am.

( It's healing better thanks to the eclipse. But the son of a bitch must've got me good… it's a pretty big gash. )

At this pace, though, I’ll probably die of blood lose first.

Ruki: Don’t say that…

Mystic flinches away, guarded.

Mystic: ——I’m sure you can smell it.

Mystic: I’ll be fine. Maybe we should spend our time finding somewhere better to hide. That way I can treat this thing.

I shall take you to Lord KarlHeinz’s castle. There should be something there that could help you.

( I don’t really think that’s a good idea.

I never mingled between First Bloods before, so I’m not sure where I fall in all the drama between them and KarlHeinz.

As far as I’m concerned, KarlHeinz's castle is protected by his powers. Is it even possible for me to make it across the door? )

Mystic trembles. His attempts to stand are unsuccessful.

Footsteps follow. Mystic lowers his gaze, seemingly a lot more entertained by the pebbles along the path.

Ruki: ... ...

Mystic: ( What's going on? He's gone quiet all of a...

Huh? )

With a short glance at Ruki, Mystic sees him subtly wrinkle his nose. Mystic startles. He quickly balls up his bloody hands.

Mystic: ( ... ...!

My hands... they're covered in my blood.

Is the smell overwhelming him? )

Uh——

Ruki: Why is your family fixated on Yui?

Mystic: Huh? Oh, umm...

I... I actually don't know exactly why.

They never explained anything to me. All I ever heard was them talk about the origin of her heart. There's something special about it.

Ruki: Special?

Mystic: That's what I got from it.

Really wouldn't put it past them if they just tried to yank it right outta her chest...

( Ugh... my head's spinning... )

Whatever they try... we gotta keep her...

Ruki: Mystic?

Some more Null and Void (justice alien!Proto and evil alien!Proto). Why? I dunno, I just like drawing wings lol, except for these particular ones (but sometimes that’s how it goes). Note/Rambles beneath cut~

These are just-for-fun, what-if, non-canon AU nonsense again, has nothing to do with anything (read this post and this post for context, basically a The Mega Man in the Moon dark 'what if')

A what if/AU involving ‘Null’ would be bummer in that ‘Null’ isn’t really Proto, in the sense that Proto would ‘die’ to become Null (if he survived the transformation at all)—any memories/prior connections would become distant/unimportant as he becomes like one of Duo’s series, who are chiefly solitary deep space evil energy hunters and are not naturally attuned to human-like emotions. Proto would never be the same, and the process would be irreversible. 

So basically like a space robo-ghost lol

Though Null’s helmeted face is in shadow (air of mystery; Duo’s original face is in shadow, so its unknown what he or anyone else from his series looked like), I thought it’d be fun to do a san-helmet version of Null that still looked like Proto with etherial hair and eyes, to play on the ghost theme. Also, I guess it’s entirely possible Duo’s series did have human-like faces, for most of the Mega Man alien robots do, haha.

…Then I thought it’d be fun to draw san helmet Void as well, who basically doesn’t have a face, which was ironically tricky to draw but I landed on something I like, though maybe I should have drawn an evil Proto for fun (even more evil?)

Early in the prince’s path, Toa told MC there were 13 people in Saligia who could use ancient magic: the seven current kings, the five s ranks, and Lou.

As far as I know, we haven’t heard anything about Roy, Fenn, or Lance’s grandfathers, but it sounds to me like Lynt, Rio, and Toa’s grandfathers have died. Guy’s grandfather kinda showed up in one of the story events (Guy was told his grandfather wanted to see him.)... So...did he somehow lose the ability to use ancient magic, or is Toa unaware that he’s still alive? (I’m thinking it’s the second one because

Lance is capable of ancient magic, but he wasn’t named among the 13 either. I don’t think that was an ability he picked up during his route like how that happened to Rio. He just never used it because why practice the king’s craft if he didn’t even want to be a prince?)
