kind of unfortunate that so many fantasy epics are also war novels because i will be honest i just do not like war novels that much... the grand clashing of forces is compelling obviously but it requires characters to talk about so much practical battle strategy and while i can get my brain to comprehend all these fantasy maps and kingdoms and borders and battalions and front lines and army movements it takes up. so much space in the book. feels like i'm fighting a war of my own trying to get through it sometimes

#this is about the witcher books rn but also about book four of the inheritance cycle #roran is hot and i like seeing him with his hammer and his dedication and love for his wife!#also i am here for dragons and it is kind of a major tonal shift watching this man try to navigate becoming a military general!#like i'll learn all the names of the witcher kings and queens and learn where their provinces are and which towns are in which kingdom #and who borders what and where and how all those political machinations work. it's important to the plot.#damn it's a lot of names though #meve is the queen of lyria and rivia is in lyria. this much i know. because she is the only queen.#completely irrelevant information most of the time.#cintra is north of nilfgaard. nilfgaard is south of fucking everything.#cintra is like? middle of the map i think? there are other southern territories that got conquered by nilfgaard before cintra fell #other southern places. um. toussaint. i know this because this location is often referenced in fanfictions about aiden thewitcher #my favorite character that does not actually appear anywhere in canon aiden thewitcher #man i'm thinking about him again... fucking miss him... Bioware made a mistake bringing Isabela back for da4 because like hell she wouldn't tell the entire da2 crew about what's happening with Solas which means they'd all show up ready to curb stomp him about Varric. Even moreso if hawke was left in the fade. That's two of their number down because of this fucker. Also Merrill should get to deck him specifically while also being like "what, like it's hard?" about fixing the eluvian that was blighted and cost her two of her closest childhood friends (potentially), her place in her clan, and her home. Again, going back far enough, because of him.

every day i thank my lucky stars that i got to grow up in colorado before moving to arizona bc i know so many people who have lived here their whole lives and it is so fucking sad to me that they never got to experience a snow day in elementary school

#also BASEMENTS??? nobody has a fucking basement here (no one i know at least) bc the ground is too hard and dry #i had a finished basement as a kid and it was THE place for sleepovers movie nights video games etc #i was also an absolute fiend for american girl dolls and i had a little corner dedicated to all their furniture and stuff #and my sisters and i had this barbie playhouse tent thing like where else would that make sense but a basement?#OH and my grandma had a room under the stairs in her basement which was everything to me as a kid completely obsessed with harry potter #like damn my az friends truly have no idea what they missed out on #tbf they all had pools in their backyards which is crazy to a lot of people who don’t live in places like az florida california etc #but my grandma had a pool in colorado so i got that too #if you ignore all the mental illness and trauma my childhood was amazing like holy shit feeling ✨grateful✨#anyway if you never had a snow day as a kid you have my deepest condolences #lj.txt

gods i love wired headphones. love having headphones with a headphone jack (and thus a replaceable cable) and no other way of playing music. love 10 foot long audio cables. love dedicated usb DACs. love headphones that are designed primarily for long-term listening comfort and don't need to have extra bulk in hinges or padding to make them more sturdy or flexible to accommodate being shoved in a bag when you're done with your commute. love high-quality audio with no perceptible delay and no fucking battery life and no extra mass from a bluetooth module and microprocessor and flashable ROM and a battery and charging circuit and onboard DAC and amp driving the speaker(s) weighing my head down.

every time i so much as think about that scene where light looks at porn magazines while scowling i go into hysterics its genuinely the funniest thing i've ever seen

#the funniest thing is is that i truly believe he thought he was being 100% convincing. that that's normal behavior for a completely straight #completely allosexual man #light is fucking awful and i hate him but also there's nuance to him. and sometimes i can get a little like. oh thinking about his life #before the series. specifically factoring in my headcanons about him being gay aroace and autistic and stuff. ppl have written some rlly #good fics surrounding those topics.... but yeah thats not even canon stuff but i dont care #anyways its not in a way of making excuses for how he is i just think it adds more to his character #hes total garbage but i think theres really interesting stuff with him when it comes to how he's.... VERY disconnected from others #just in general. he's like aware of how to act ''normal'' on like the most textbook surface level without being like. Aware enough to #be able to make it more convincing. and as ridiculous as it is i do see some of myself in him in that sense #also that person who said light and L is just autistic guy who's been masking his entire life vs autistic guy who's never masked in his #entire life. LITERALLY EXACTLY. genuinely perfect way to describe them they are both so similar when it comes to this #but the ways they go about it are very different. light has been playing the part of the perfect son his whole life. AND MEGUMI AND TOJI.#i was crying for like 4 episodes straight or something and then toji decided to pull that ‘not zenin? i’m glad’ EXCUSE ME SIR #also like toji’s alright he’s not my favourite but OH MY GOD and his eyes changed 😭😭😭😭😭#i’d just finished crying over nanami getting barbecued and then i was off again #i got spoiled for him dying on tiktok spoilers are basically inescapable but oh my god #in the scene where miwa is crying over mechamaru like hands crossed in her chest leaning over that was actually me #i literally had my head parallel to my bed and my arms crossed to my chest like i can’t get communion or some shit 😭😭😭😭#and i had to keep turning my head to look at my tv and just kept sobbing #because by the time he actually died i’d stopped crying because it had been like 5 episodes or something but i was sobbing #and it caught me so off guard when jogo got them i was literally staring at the screen going ‘WHAT?’ before i started crying my eyes out #the pipeline my camera roll goes through its pictures of nanami from like the first episodes of the season and then it’s me crying 😭😭😭😭#i felt so ill about it all i literally couldn’t finish my dinner i ate like a birdseye chicken fillet and then had to give up #also keep in mind i dedicated my entire day to jjk like i watched the movie and then watched all of season 2 in like 9 and a half hours #so when nobara died i was so exhausted i couldn’t even cry i just sort of went ‘you what’ at the screen and had to sit there in pain #but it was so so good all the same like damn #jjk #jujutsu kaisen #jjk season 2 #zad talks
