Ok I've reached the point where I'm delirating about a alternate universe because of a song, bare with me and listen

A fantasy/mythical au where Mauga is the god of mountains, associated with the balance between strength and cunning, the one that allows the sun to rise over the horizon. A god greatly worshipped in his part of the world, his acolytes know his character well and know better than to go against his will, it's hard to make him angry, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous (He did stop the sun to rise more than once just so some night parties keep going longer, angerying Illarie, representative and messenger of the sun on earth, in the process) He is affiliated to Akande, demigod of war and gold, associated with the power of will and conviction, seeks peace in a VERY questionable way, he believes that by generating chaos and conflict the true nature of the people he visits comes to light, in this way he decides who deserves tranquility and who deserves eradication. (Akande and Mauga made a pact long ago, Mauga would answer to his call whenever he needed his strength, and in return, Akande would not visit his regions, leaving his people be.) With similar deals he gained the favor or service of others, like Sombra, an Alux created by humans from clay to serve her people, she was used as a spy, infiltrating enemy villages to get intel on them, to know if they were thinking of attacking them or if they had resources that they needed. When visiting her village to unleash the chaos, Akande was greeted by warriors who fought to the death, seeing Akande's power, Sombra took the opportunity to offer her service to him in exchange of being freed from the command of man kind. She wanted free will, and Akande give it to her. Moira was one of Akande's first followers, as she had a sick fascination with what war left behind, death and corpses that she could manipulate and bring back to life, but not exactly the same as they were before. Moira was once human, now she could not be considered as such, she became a kind of necromancer. To bring the dead back to life she needed to sacrifice another, it could be one of a human or a supernatural one, of course sacrificing a supernatural one always brought the dead back with an added bonus, power, some kind of abilities, and a longer life span, an improvement of human potential according to her criteria. Two of Moira's most successful works for Akande were Gabriel and Amelie, now renamed Reaper and Widowmaker. Once affiliated with Overwatch, an order made up of different types of humans, demigods and supernatural beings, heroes who seek to stop the advance of Akande and other threats in the world (I'll elaborate (maybe) later about Overwatch in this universe, now I'm with Talon)

Gabriel was a decorated soldier, in the midst of a disagreement with his companions, an accident occurred in which he ended up dying, Moira, who had previously met him, brought him back to life by sacrificing the soul of a demon, Gabriel became an undead connected to the mist and nightmares, now, with the soul of an infernal being throbbing inside him, and with his last memories being so bitter, he had become basically a vengeful ghoul. On the other hand, Amelie belonged to the French nobility, married to an Overwatch hero, her life could not be more ideal, so the only thing left was to go downhill. In order to kill her husband, Moira's undead minions kidnapped and murdered Amelie, Moira knew she was a special case, they needed someone alive but soulless, someone who would not feel remorse for killing a loved one, so, on this occasion, Moira sacrificed a vampire, a soulless creature that would grant her the cold life that suited them. So Amelie killed her beloved, and found that the only way she could feel the warmth that love once gave her, was through blood. Thus Akande formed his entourage and alliances. Now, here comes the selfincert part, feel free to ignore this but so just u know it has some info about the world of this Au too In this world there are many varieties of creatures and mythological beings, many of them were humans before becoming supernatural, like the undead of Moira, and like the nymphs, the nymphs in this world were once humans with a very strong connection to nature and some form of art. Depending on what their type of artistic expression was, their personality and the circumstances of their birth and death will determine what type of nymph the person will be later. Nymphs are considered godchildren of nature and can be found in different regions around the world. They are protectors and messengers of their natural element, intermediaries between humans and their gods on duty. Abel, for example, is a nymph who died very early. He was an interpreter in his village who, in his short life, told stories full of morals about caring for others, whether it was an animal, an insect, a body of water or a plant. He sought to connect his people with the spirituality of those who had lived there before them, he tried to make them listen. He was just another activist among other young people in his town. Unfortunately the village well was poisoned one day by an unknown madman, many died from it, Abel included.

Abel's art was about reflecting an idea, an ideal, and flowing between people, a gentle reminder that they were not alone in the world. Abel was born in the middle of the night a summer day, poisoned water being the reason for his death. For those reasons he woke up after his death in a river, or rather as part of the river. Now, as a minor deity, Abel knew no pain, he lived only to entertain his siblings, tell stories, dance by the body of water and bless the crops of good farmers near the river. They had no reason to abandon the extensive river that were their home. Until it began to turn red due to the massacre that was taking place near one of the streams. A gift from Ramattra, a golem blinded by the thirst for recognition towards himself and his peers (In this world, what would be the Omnics, since there is no technology, they would be Golems, creatures created from inanimate matter for the service of humans, when they were provided with consciousness by (something that I didn't decided yet), they began a fight with humanity seeking to be recognized as living beings with integrity.) Ramattra went a step further, proclaiming that since they were connected to the elemental titans that existed long before any human or god, they deserved to be respected as such, and any resistance would be severely punished. This crisis pushed Abel to take the initiative among his terrified siblings to leave the river and fight the forces of the golems, they were no warriors, but they were protectors, and Abel reminded them all why they had that title. Soon Abel's initiative led the other nymphs to follow in his footsteps, managing to push back the golems, but they knew that this was not going to end there, and if they wanted to ensure the tranquility and well-being of the valley they needed help. So once again, Abel took the initiative and volunteered to leave the valley in search of help. And he set out to seek the help of a certain god of strength and cunning. Columbo and the Knight (1984)

Okay can I be a bitter Anders fan for like. Just 2 minutes here lmao

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! You can still enjoy him! I’m not saying you can’t and it’s important to me that people understand that! I’m just saying he did in fact do objectively morally worse things in game than Anders did and I don’t think that’s really debatable. And I can’t really make my point here without saying that but I do want to make it clear this is not some moral condemnation of Solas enjoyers cause it’s not)

Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

And now… 72% of people are down to redeem the guy who lies to you for 2 games straight and who did a lot of questionable things that includes creating the fucking blight and. Like. I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

But like. Man there really is a difference when the writers actually like the character who does the thing, huh

in the nicest and most non-confrontational way possible. i feel like some of you think that anything that isn't directly openly spelled out for you within a story is "missed potential" or "unexplored." like. sometimes there are implied narratives. sometimes the point is that you as the reader are supposed to think and draw your own conclusions and participate in the story. the writers not directly spelling every little detail out for you doesn't mean that the story is poorly written or missed its own plot details somehow. PLEASE.

no but it’s so sad how lu guang used to think that even the smallest alteration from the events of original narrative could change everything beyond repair but now he sees time as something almighty, something he’s unable to fight against. i wonder what he could’ve tried to do that lead him to thinking that time is THAT powerful. and how devastating it is to understand that you’re absolutely helpless, that nothing you do means anything, again and again it’s all the same, from “hey newcomer, wanna play basketball with us?” to “save them, lu guang” but he can’t. cheng xiaoshi passes the ball and whatever lu guang does he is destined to miss this time. cheng xiaoshi passes the ball and lu guang only worsens the situation. and still he keeps on trying. because cheng xiaoshi put his trust into him.
