GOD'S INEFFABLE GAME

I've seen this headcanon/theory here and there and I love it, so I felt the need to lay it all out. Hold on tight, yall.

Everyone knows how perfect Aziraphale and Crowley are for each other. The Angel of the Eastern Gate and the Serpent of Eden, the sword and the snake - they've been drawn together since before the beginning.

The way that these two compliment each other seems almost perfect. They each have what the other one lacks; they challenge and make each other better. It seems a bit... ineffable.

But then, it happens again? (if it happens again, it'll seem like an institutional problem!) Seemingly against all odds, the Grand Duke of Hell and the Supreme Archangel fall in love. Beelzebub and Gabriel, probably the most unlikely pair, end up fitting together so perfectly that they become each other's heaven and hell.

And here's the part where I'm reaching a bit more since I'm leaving what we know to be canon, so take it or leave it. But have you seen the way that Dagon, Lord of the Files, looks at the Archangel Michael? Could it be that they're also ineffably connected? Honestly, I dare you to tell me that they don't seem... smitten.

Next up, we have precious Muriel, 37th Order Scrivener, and "Disposable Demon" Eric. Equally low-ranking but lovable entities whose personalities match so well? Sure, sure, they never even speak or meet (yet!?) so maybe I'm delusional, but I have a strong feeling that these two will end up together. Personally I think they'll be something like a QPR, but who knows. They're just such perfect mirrors of each other, and as we all know, things are always on purpose when it comes to our lord and savior Neil Gaiman.

Even though angels and demons are supposed to be "hereditary enemies", it seems like they all end up liking each other just a little too much to be a matter of chance. We know that there are 10 million angels and 10 million demons... what are the chances that that was an accident? A perfectly even split, by coincidence? Nah. We know that God plays an ineffable game with the universe, and it seems like She might have been in the mood for a romantic comedy. Creating ten million sets of perfectly matched beings, and then putting them on opposite sides, seems like just a thing that God would do for Her own amusement. She's probably sitting back and laughing to Herself, seeing how long it takes Her creations to find their way back to each other.

Here’s a thing that freaks me out; demons have emotions and empathy.

Angels are always calm and annoy is the only emotion that we actually see them express. While demons have a big spectrum of emotions: we have Hastur being sad about Ligurs death; Beelzebub worried, happy and caring; Dagon being sarcastic and disgusted; we see how upset Furfur was when Crowley didn’t recognize him; Erick has plenty of emotions which I don’t think I need to mention; demon Beelzebub talks too in one of the episodes was concerned about them and feels scared when realizes that he’d been talking much. The only demon who doesn’t seem to have any “irregular demonic” emotions is Shax.

And we have two Angels who actually express emotions from the start. Crowley and Muriel. Crowley acts like other demons in present, but pre-fall Crowley is as emotional as Muriel. And it contrasts radically with Jimbriel and Aziraphale, yes they have some emotions but not as much as Muriel or Crowley.

Demons also have better understanding of humans and kids. Beelzebub is the one who actually tries to convince Adam to help them, while others just trying to force him to fulfill/go against his destiny. Crowley is the one who’s favorite animal is kids, and he’s the one who goes to help Elsbeth immediately while trying to explain to Angel that things angels say about wealth and money are lunacy.

And considering that Muriel already considered Crowleys child and the angel she’ll protect at all cost. I have some concerns about their position in Heaven, and them being an angel at all in the future ….

PokeOmens - Demon Edition😈

i started this project last summer because i love pokemon and i love good omens, and only recently had the push to finish it! putting the teams together was a lot of fun - a healthy balance of deep thought and ~just vibes~ took up my process. please ask about any of the choices if you'd like!

Beelzebub: i was going to do all bug types but i figured as Grand Duke of hell they'd have more variety and Hell-ish pokemon.

Giratina, Buzzwole, Golbat, Mega Beedrill, Houndoom, and Centiskorch

Hastur: yes, i gave him a team of frogs bc i thought it would be hilarious (it is). also garbodor is not a frog but he's there bc of the time Warlock told him he smells like poo. lol

Garbodor, Poliwrath, Seismitoad, Croagunk, Bellibolt, and Greninja

Ligur: was i going to give him all lizard-like mons? of course. but i decided to mix things up a bit!

Mega Swampert, Scrafty, Slugma, Kecleon, Annihilape, and Toxtricity

Dagon: water types! (mostly) i think i had the most fun designing their trainer look. the coat they wear already screams Water Gym Leader to me, i just embellished.

Mega Sharpedo, Clodsire, Barraskewda, Huntail, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Golduck

Furfur: a team showcasing the "just vibes" process, with a few purposeful inclusions.

Stantler, Gumshoos, Alolan Raticate, Wobbuffet, Sableye, and Feebas

Shax: another "just vibes" team lol. her look was fun to create too! i love all her different outfits in the series so i attempted to combine them - i think i succeeded for the most part!

Bombirdier, Salazzle, Gothorita, Oricorio (Sensu style), Alolan Persian, and Sneasler

Eric: i tried to compile pokemon that have a sort of "multiples" attribute (since there's multiple Erics) but i ended up not getting too strict about it.
