This is so shanks coded to me. Like he just keeps losing people and he never learns how to deal with it. So much so that he becomes the abandoning parent. He literally knows nothing else all he has as a frame of reference is all the adult figures in his life leaving him and telling him it is for the best. So why exactly wouldn’t he believe that the best way to love someone is by letting go?

He does it to Luffy, he does it to Uta and in some ways he does it to Buggy and Mihawk too. Because he never just asks them to stay. He lets Buggy run out of his life even though it was pretty obvious that Buggy wanted Shanks to fight for this to take a stand a real one on a conviction for once and he…doesn’t, he just lets buggy leave.

And then he hitches his wagon to the most flighty (dude is literally a bird motif 😭) mother fucker he can find. he lets Mihawk wander in and out of his life as he pleases regardless of what is best for either of them. Because maybe Mihawk has nothing better to do 👀. Maybe he would say yes now if Shanks asks. but Shanks would rather die than ask, would cut off his other arm before he even attempted to “clip Mihawk’s wings”

And that’s like the truth of it. Shanks has been abandoned by every person that has ever loved him besides his crew and he knows they will never leave him. But Maybe he just wants someone to stay not because they call him captain.

Get ready for MORE GELPHIE ANALYSIS because the queer audhd English major brain never rests.

We know that Glinda is trying to get the Munchkins to empathize with Elphaba even though she can't publicly defend or mourn her. But another nice touch from the brilliant mind of Stephen Schwartz is that in telling about Elphaba's childhood,she makes a point to mention Elphaba's father being appointed governor of Munchkin Land. There are LAYERS here.

We know that Glinda was from a wealthy and prominent family. She has gone through a lot of character development at this point,but she is still Glinda Upland. Status and titles mean a lot to her still. Telling everyone that Elphaba was born in Munchkin Land is supposed to humanize her and show she is literally one of them yes...BUT our girl was bragging on her girl. She was letting them KNOW Elphie ain't a common wicked bitch. She's letting them know her bestie is ALSO from a prominent family and put some fucking respect on her name. It goes over their heads,but Glinda tried so hard short of telling the truth (which would be against Elphaba's wishes) or obliterating some munchkin ASS for shit talking her baby. I know seeing her finally get to cry her eyes out about it is going to wreck me

I have a small headcanon that Kai didn’t style his hair like fire because of his own element or because he found fire cool, but because of his father.

Kai styles his hair to be more like his father. To embody that same passion and protectiveness and love that his father held so naturally and he wanted. Not just for himself, to help remember that man and to be like the person he looked up to the most, but for Nya. Nya needed a father. Nya needed to know how it all felt. Nya needed to understand somehow how Kai felt about Ray. About what he experienced.

So, for Nya, he embodied what he remembered of his father. And for himself, he turned his image into something he wanted to make his father proud of.

Kai, no matter what he does, deeply loves and missed his parents more that anything and the effect of them leaving was much deeper then he let anyone notice, but that was eventually revealed during season 7 (time twins season). Nya obviously was effected but she didn’t have as many memories nor did she have a close enough bond from when she was younger for her to react just as similarly to Kai (again, she WAS effected because thats her parents and she definitely missed them too) but Kai had many issues he suppressed over the years that came to the surface the moment he heard that his parents (supposedly) left them on purpose. He was so hurt by that that he began making the same rash and impulsive decisions he did in the first season.

(He seems to often do that when his family is involved, doesn’t he? First it was when Nya got kidnapped and he ran off to the temple of fire, attacking his parents in that cabin they lived in, when Cole fell off the ship and he immediately went to try turn it back around, when Zane died and literally EVERYTHING he did after, i can’t think of any for Jay but maybe when Jay was slowly losing it in the first realm and Kai started freaking out cause of it, and the way he’s willing to take risks to his own life for Lloyd in general.)

I think when he was younger, he often saw how passionate his father was. He was like a living flame that always warmed them all, never burning their hands every time they reached for him. Kai held onto the memories of his father working closely with the flames on their blacksmith’s, always treating it like an old friend, having a silent conversation no one can hear. He spent time sitting and just watching his father, happy with just that. He clearly remembers the way his father’s eyes were always so bright. So hopeful for the future (and the he got kidnapped and enslaved so…but at least his kids saved him! (one tried killing him))

He remembers the way his father held them protectively, always keeping them safe. He remembers the way he loved so fiercely for his mother and his sister. He felt that same love for years until it was ripped away from him, and then tainted.

The fire that they shared, once something he didn’t understand and then later having become both a connection to his father and a burden of a man he believed was rotten for a short time, was now something he can also have conversations with that no one but him and one other can understand.

I can't believe that it's already been a week without my favorite 1D member!

Hello?! All I want to do is wake up from this bad dream called a nightmare and know that Liam is still here. But I can't because this is real. I can't even accept the fact that he's gone!!

Like I've always said, It wasn't his to go yet, and he was still too young to leave.

This talented and amazing man, still had so many years including watching his kiddo grow up. And as time would’ve gone on death should've waited until it was actually Liam's time to go (but even then it still would’ve been heartbreaking and devastating either way) but no this soon.

Liam once said back in 2013, "It seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone".
