Ninjinktober 2019 Redone
Day 16: AU
Of course I was gonna redraw the Dad Acronix AU. Haven’t seen this AU in forever. I still find it adorable.
This AU belongs to @the-ninjago-girl here. (Haven’t seen her in forever. Hope she’s alright.)
Also sorry for making him skinny, I was using a Mellon-soup pose as reference and unfortunately he was disproportionate.

Ninjago AU: Snakes and Letters
Premise: Instead of training under Master Chen, Garmadon seeks out the Serpentine to learn about the Great Devourer's venom and lives with them. Much of canon changes as a result.
With the Anacondrai, Garmadon unlearns his bias against Serpentine, and falls in love with Arcturus.
No one steals Wu's letter to Misako, so the two of them bond and fall in love. Later, Misako is a surrogate for Garmadon & Arcturus, with the full consent of all four of them. This is how Lloyd exists as normal–though much more comfortable expressing his nonhuman side, what with a serpentine father.
Chen attempts to turn humans and serpentine against each other, but the Serpentine War, insofar as it exists, ends very differently; humans and serpentine realize Chen's manipulation and join forces to banish him to an island.
Serpentine remain in Ninjago.
In this AU, it's Wu who is the victim of manipulation by Chen, and his biases are exploited to sow resentment between him and Garmadon. The Elemental Alliance is formed under Master Chen's control. While Wu is able to break free and fight back, not everyone in the alliance is so lucky.
Acronix and Krux's mother is is killed when their village is caught in a battle between humans and serpentine. Young, angry, and grieving, they're convinced by Chen to fight against serpentine in the Elemental Alliance.
However, as the war escalates, they realize that Chen is in the wrong, and that the entire serpentine culture does not deserve to be punished for an accidental death. Their confrontation with Chen quickly becomes violent.
Chen, with Clouse's help, take Acronix and Krux's elemental powers. When they don't surrender, he then uses the stolen element of time to blast them into a portal. Krux is sent forty-fifty years in the future, while Acronix falls back out shortly after Chen's defeat.
Arcturus finds Acronix wandering the desert, delirious and calling Krux's name. He and Garmadon take her into their home, and while Acronix is not a child, they have a somewhat parental relationship to her, and consider each other family.
Of course, Garmadon still has the Great Devourer's venom. With Arcturus and other serpentine's help, he has learned ways to fight it, but eventually, he succumbs.
After an argument that ends with Arcturus ordering Acronix to take Lloyd and flee their home, Garmadon seeks out the Golden Weapons, and Wu is forced to send him to the Underworld.
Arcturus is distraught, and abandons what's left of his family in order to seek a cure for the Great Devourer's venom. Acronix and Lloyd end up living with Wu and Misako.
They try to have a normal life. Acronix still has hope that Arcturus will return. Lloyd is perfectly happy with Misako as his mom, and sometimes forgets that Wu isn't actually his dad.
Wu, fearing that Garmadon will return before Arcturus comes back with a cure, begins taking students to train as ninja.
And from there, we go into the pilots.
Next part coming soon! I'll edit this post with a link once it's completed.

Sorry I got Pink Ninja AU on the brain this evening and :]
Stuff under cut cause I am going to ramble
SO ACRONIX
I Have not said this officially in any post yet and since this au is gonna be retired sometime in the future I think it's only fair to give the full backstory to what the hell has been going on with the timeline.
So hear we go! The OG timeline.
Warning for mentions of abuse, murder, and essentially skybound 2.0(?)
In the timeline, the EMs had to deal with not just the Serpentine spurred by Chen, but with the royal ninjagen empire.
The Emperor wanted EMs to become private soldiers for their armies, but some of the EMs are from neighboring kingdoms so- no???
Anyways, Acronix wanted nothing more than to start figuring out what the hell to do with his life. With him and Krux the youngest EMs of the group, they were tasked with protecting the kin of the current EMs. Cue Lilly.
Lilly was old enough to inherent Earth but her dad sucks and is kind of sexist, but jokes on him. Lilly is his only child and he's too old by the time he tries looking for a successor.
Lilly and Aceonix train and hang out during their time waiting out the worst of the Serpentine War and fall in love.
Krux wasn't happy that his only family was starting to go off on their own, so Krux started causing issues and pushing for him and Acronix to have more power in the group.
Siding with Chen, Acronix finds his brother intentionally being evil and tries to talk him out of it. It doesn't work, Acronix then goes along with it to hopefully get his brother back.
Well you know how that goes. He can't convince Krux, suspects that the council will take away their powers somehow, and he'll have to be imprisoned.
HE WAS NOT EXPECTING A TIME VORTEX TO TRAP HIM FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
Before the vortex, he met with Lilly one night to talk things over. She knows what he's been up to and wants him to stop. But he can't, he has to convince Krux to stop. But if he keeps siding with Krux...
How will he ever be there for his child?
And there we have it folks. The big twist.
Acronix is Cole's father.
Lilly thought she had to raise Cole alone, but Lou was always there. Even if he was only Lilly's best friend, he loved her.
Cole never knew his bio dad, but he did know the man that actually raised him before his mother passed.
And as years passed, Cole grew up in a small town and eventually moved closer to the city when his mom became sick.
There he met Candyce. The two were set in the same class and became instant friends.
But Candyce's family were known to be low-level royals. A connection to one of the royal cousins through her father. But his dream was to bake, and that infuriated the wife he married. Who only married him for his status.
What Candyce didn't know was that on her mother's side, their family were the few of EMs to join the empire. Her family were known to hold the power of Fauna, to turn into animals.
Her oldest brother, Lillard, got the power. And her mom encouraged him to use it in the worst way possible. And he did.
Candyce and Cole ran away a bit after Lilly died, and things progressed further.
Lillard was caught doing horrific things, but falsely promising change from him- his mother sent him off to a school deeper in the city to keep him from serving any time in juvie and eventually prison.
At the school, his main goal was to party around, ruin more lives, and live long enough to get his mothers's spot back in the royal family.
Along his massive list of ruined lives, Jay was sadly in it. He got a scholarship to go, and as a freshman, barely 14- he met Lillard, 19, and turned 20 only a month in dating.
Lillard did unspeakable things to Jay, and Jay ran for it when worst came to shove. Lillard ran after him, tried to kill Jay, but several witnesses were starting to catch onto the scene and Lillard bolted, leaving Jay to die and Wu to discover them barely alive at the side of a sewer canal.
Jay lived, and terrified of Lillard getting ahold of him, agreed to join Wu.
Zane was a bit after, thankfully unharmed by anything, and the four (Candyce, Cole, Jay, and Zane) all lived in the Monastery with Wu training them.
Lillard eventually got what he wanted. But for him to secure a place back in the Emperor's rank, he was tasked to investigate rumors of a old enemy (Wu) recruiting new members for the Elemental Council.
Lillard tracks down the four, and finds Jay there. With Cole. He's not happy to know he had a EM in his grasp a year ago, but he figured capturing Jay and killing the rest would be enough.
He tries following them back to the Monastery, but found that he couldn't find the stair leading up the mountain. Like a mental fog over took him while he searched.
He then plotted to stake out the base of the mountain for some of the group to come back down.
And one day, he got them.
Cole and Candyce were lazing about when Wu chastised them, and for an idea- why not go hiking? The two were used to moving through thick forest terrain. And the two did kinda miss being free spirits.
They head down, they play and bicker, and eventually they get to a point where they feel they can sit down for water and snacks.
They hear rustling from the bushes.
They freeze up unsure of what's near them.
Something rushes from the bushes.
Candyce tries to shield herself.
Cole jumps in the way.
Lillard kills Cole. And Candyce watches in horror.
She pulls a blade she took in the case of cutting down blocking debris, but it was used to slash at Lillard's face. Cutting at his eyes and nose.
She didn't know it was him, as he was in the form of a beast.
As Lillard retreated, Candyce grabbed Cole and hurried back to the Monastery screaming for help. But it was far too late.
Wu blamed himself for the next few years, thinking if he hadn't sent the two down, then Cole would still be alive. That the odd beast that attacked them may of hunted for anything other than them.
Candyce shut herself off from the others, blaming herself for not reacting fast enough. If she did, then Cole wouldn't of jumped in front of her.
Jay and Zane mourned their friends and tried keeping spirits up, but they were broken. Jl
Jay loved Cole, but he never moved past the pain of his last relationship to confess. Zane loved Candyce, but she pushed him away and refused his comfort.
Two years later, and Kai joined. He wanted to rescue his sister and Nya was back in record time.
Jay tried moving on and took interest in Nya, but something felt off about her. He can't put his finger on it.
Lloyd joins, and Candyce is quick to take him in against the others' complaints. But Lloyd reminds her of when Cole was young and bratty, acting like he was the defacto leader of their adventures, and that helped cheer her up a bit.
The great battle happens. Without Cole, Lloyd's powers are not dulled enough to keep the golden power from consuming him and Garmadon. Both son and father die.
Then the Overlord returns, Zane sacrifices himself. And a year later, the lure to rescue him from Chen's Island is a total lie.
Wu goes to the Cursed Realm to stop Chen's Faux-Anacondrai war. Leaving Misako to soon abandon the rest of the surviving Ninja.
Nya and Kai decide to leave, and they take Jay with them. Jay, with no Cole to quarrel with, never broke up with Nya. And the three leave Candyce alone up on the mountain.
Candyce tries to pull help from previous allies, even the new EMs that have chosen to use their powers to help the public. But something is stirring, and the Empire once again are trying to hunt after the new EMs for their private armies.
Back with the three, Kai notices that Nya's anger has made her more and more unhinged. Spotting her destroying (Jay's) things, messing up (Jay's) things, blaming others for her problems. He catches on that Jay is terrified of Nya, and he already covers his face or covers when his sister is raging.
He pulls Jay aside when Nya goes off on her own mission as Samurai X, and Jay confesses that Nya is heavily reminding him of his abusive ex. And while she's only screamed and broken his things, at least she hasn't beaten him.
Kai is sickened, guilty that he's seen his sister effectively become a abuser in their own home. And he decides right there that it was for the best if Jay was removed from the house.
The two pack up and quickly leave in the night before Nya can wake, and they go back to the one spot they know they can safely rest. The Monastery.
Candyce is surprised to see them, but it happy they're back at all. She told what Nya has been doing and she agrees to let Jay stay. Kai wants to go back and talk to Nya.
But as he returns to Ignacia- the rice farmers and neighbors are telling him that his family home has burned to the ground, and Nya was nowhere to be found.
He goes back to Jay and Candyce to tell them what's up, but hears frightening news. Nya, in her worst rage yet, went and about destroyed the Junkyard to scare Ed and Edna into telling her where Jay and her brother were.
The three decide that they should rally the EMs and look to vacate asap. If Nya didn't find Jay and Kai at the Junkyard, then her next stop was most likely the Monastery.
Skylor agrees to let them hide on her father's old island, freed to the Kabuki Girls, who now run the place with Skylor's financial assistance. The EMs meet back to hear about Nya's rampage and the Empire's revived plan to capture them.
Meanwhile, Acronix has been released from the vortex and is tracked down by Krux. It's not long for him to realize his brother has not changed. At all. In fact, he's gotten worse.
Krux has taken pay from the Emperor to create and raise the Vermillion Army to strengthen the numbers against the new Elemental Alliance. And since he hasn't been around for about 20 years now, it's best if Acronix got the run down of what Krux has done in the short amount of time given.
He's tracked down and killed Arthur (the previous Ice EM), kidnapped and gifted Libby to King Vangelis to bear his only child, he's trapped Ray and Maya on the threat of killing their children! Oh- and the best part-
Krux had successfully worked with Vangelis alongside the Emperor to poison and slowly kill Lilly.
Acronix is... he's...
He asks where Ray and Maya are being kept. Krux says the small shed in the middle of the Vermillion Swamp.
Are they alive. Yes.
Was it worth it? Krux says it will be when they're the ones ruling Ninjago in the end.
Acronix waits for his brother to turn away. He cannot believe that he's been so foolish. All this time he was trying to steer away a fate he thought Krux was blind to.
But Krux knew all along what he wad doing.
So Acronix chews on his decision, asking Krux more questions. And Krux is happy that he has his dumb little twin listening to him like old times...
And time ran out for Krux. The second he had his back exposed, Acronix used a sharp metal strip he took earlier from Krux's workbench- and stabbed him dead.
He didn't know what to do with the body, but looking at it- all Acronix could see was a younger version of his brother bleeding out, gasping for air as the life seeped out of them. Like back in the war, before Krux went down this path.
Acronix somehow wishes he could've left his brother for dead back then, if he knew of the future. But now it's... it's too late. He can't save his love, his son is dead. God knows what was or is the fate to the remaining kids involved.
He frees Ray and Maya, and with the Vermillion under his control (as told by Krux), he chooses to use the snakes to seek out any EMs to make contact with.
But Ray and Maya are distraught, showing their powers are again working for them.
Which means-
Cut back to a month.
The EMs have been dealing with the Emperor sending waves of soldiers after them, and having to battle their own in some capacity. EMs that've long since deemed lost or missing due to them joining the royal ranks.
Nya is among them, as Lillard has tracked her down. Spilling lies to her angry heart that Wu was a villain, using her and her brother to usurp the Emperor as per his and Garmadon's ultimate plan made way long ago.
A final fight was pushed to the Emperor's palace where most EMs were captured, but the trio had evaded the royal army. As Candyce went to break them free, Kai and Jay confronted Nya.
Jay went down first, then Kai-
Then Candyce snuck up from behind and chopped Nya's head off.
The place was in flames, falling apart. And Candyce only raced back to her friends' side only to arrive too late. Even with Nya dead, she felt like no one was really saved in the end.
The palace was consumed by flames, she was trapped with nowhere to go. So she sat there, waiting for the flames to eat her.
Acronix, Ray and Maya, and the escaped EMs watched on with pain as the last of the Palace remains were picked though, bodies of royal and EMs were found.
The surviving retreated back to the island to talk about what to do. Even with Ray back, the other Elements of Creation were gone to the wind.
Machia, the commander at that point, spoke to Acronix of Krux's true plan. To go back to the past and change fate to where the Time Twins were the victors.
Acronix didn't doubt for a second that Krux never let their defeat leave his head. Hell- it what motivated the monster behind the scenes.
The time blades are brought back to focus, and the EMs agree to track them down. If not a full reset, then at least to a point where a majority of the Ninja could be saved.
Acronix pushes for him to be the only one to go back. As it was his failure to intervene that caused this massive domino effect. Maya and Ray are suspicious, yet quickly change their tune when reminded of Krux's body left rotting in the museum's hidden dungeon.
They get to Borg, pleading with him to make a machine to help Acronix go back. Pixal urges her father since Zane would then have a chance to live in the new timeline.
With the machine completed, Acronix goes back. A single memory in his head as time warps around him.
... It's a nice calm night, he's standing along a long stream. Stones tiny and circular are stacked in odd towers, and small stagnant pools are full of frogs. The crickets are chirping against the dead silence. Fireflies hug the wet grass and glow in uneven spurses. And not too far from him, a woman approaches.
She's crying, saying something that he can't hear. He tries to recall why his hearing is so bad. And then it comes back. The hours earlier, they had to fight the EM of sound. Their screaming rung his ears and he was uncertain if he was going deaf.
His eyes stay on her lips, reading her words as she tries to beg him. He knows but doesn't know what she's saying. She stops and stares at him, and turns to leave-
"Lilly. Lilly, please stop. Please." He hangs his head down. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Lilly."
He didn't look up to see if she stopped.
"I know. I know what I am doing is wrong. I never should have listened to him. I never should have believed I could change his mind."
Tear bleared his vision, the rocks under his feet meshed into one thick gray haze.
"Please. I don't want to do this. I don't."
His chin was lifted, and in the moonlight was her. Her own tears have dropped.
"Then stop," he barely heard her past the ringing in his ears. "Stop and come back home. Lou is worried about you. I'm worried about you."
He carefully reached out, placing a hand over hers. Squeezing it to make sure it was her and really her.
"I- I have to stop this. I can't let him destroy everything."
"We can stop him, togeth-"
"No. Krux has... I- I know. I know. He has to be stopped. He won't let anyone close to him besides me."
"... Nix..."
"... Go home, Lilly. By the end of this week, Krux will be taken care of. Until then, I want you... I want you to go home, be with him. Stay put, stay safe."
The end of the week came. Krux was ready to storm the Monastery with Acronix by his side.
He was at the doors when he felt a sharp sensation in his chest.
The doors swung open, and the alliance were ready to fight-
Krux staggered in, barely able to get a word out before he dropped to the ground. A sharp dagger lodged right in his back.
There Acronix stood, at the doorway, taking off the ridiculous helmet his brother made them wear to match.
He felt memories ebb away as he watched his brother bleeding out, gasping for air as the life seeped out of them.
He looked to the alliance and stood there as everyone inspected Krux's body and detained him for safety.
But Acronix sighed an air of relief as he saw his brother's body be covered by a sheet.
The timeline was fixed.

I saw ur time triplets post and now I’m interested, care to share more?
Ah yes, my boys. I call them my boys even though I don't post them as much anymore but still.
Let me just put this in the simplest way possible without spoiling anything from my AU not just for your sake, but for mine too cause the AU only has season one rebuilt as of now.
There's Krux, Acronix, and Phoenix. Krux and Acronix are both named after programs like their mother, Cittrix (a name I kinda snatched from @s0l0b0d0r because I thought it was neat, I love it and it makes so much sense to me) while Phoenix was named something Greek-related like their father Kronos. (A character who was supposed to be the Hands of Time villain but he got scrapped and turned into twins. The fandom agrees that he did exist at some point. Mostly he's been headcanoned as the father of the Time Siblings which gives him the ultimate dad pun of being called "Father Time")
These three happened mostly because of there being three hands on a clock, the hour (Krux), the minute (Acronix), and the seconds (Phoenix). No one really counts the seconds hand often so no one really thought of there being three instead of two. However there is an in-universe reason why they thought it two. I'll get to that in a bit.
Anyways, let's get this started down below.
The simplest way to explain them is this:
Krux is the eldest of the three as per usual with his role. He gained the ability to halt and reverse time.
Acronix is debatably the youngest. (I honestly want to keep him as the youngest because it’s absolutely funny that he’d be last born despite his powers and the reaction he’d get from that info.) From his father he received Accelerate and Decelerate Time.
Phoenix definitely gives middle child energy with him basically being in the background at most times. Now, he actually wasn’t going to biologically inherit a power at all. It was going to skip over him because well.. he wasn’t supposed to be there. (He was not supposed to survive a few days after birth so yeah…) So his father gave him an ability himself. It was Time Theft.
We know how Krux’s and Acronix’s powers work but we don’t know Phoenix’s powers that well. Time Theft is basically a life-stealing ability. It can affect objects and beings while the user could extend their life much longer. Like the other time abilities, it's been given a color and that would be purple. Purple has a different meaning in Japan so there's a reason why Phoenix rarely ever uses this power, let alone use it on purpose.
Anyways, aside from their powers, I'm sure you noticed by the art that they decided to all do different looks to avoid further confusion than they already had in their childhood. Other than that, they were an inseparable trio of siblings which proceeds to make the next thing I'm about to type hurt.
It's no secret in my AU that they were triplets and they would be manipulated by Chen with a touch of Clouse's magic. They would turn on the Elemental Alliance and their allies. During one of the battles, Phoenix got separated from the other two by Luther, the previous master of darkness, and Clarissa, a Dragon Samurai woman. The battle between Phoenix and those two led to someone using magic to banish him outside of all time itself. (I believe Clouse had a hand in that since he saw how much of a threat Phoenix was compared to the other two with his Time Theft ability.) Phoenix would now be stuck in an unending loop of finding his timeline, trying to help any version of his brothers, failing and heading back to the timeless void itself. Being cut to the outside of existence would cause memories of that person to be eradicated. (ie Frisk in Glitchtale)
Meanwhile during their battle with the Spinjitzu Brothers, Krux and Acronix had felt a rage like no other. They had no idea why they felt that way and that clouded their judgement and caused them to lose. And for the rest of their lives, they presumed themselves as if they were always twins, not knowing they were triplets who lost a sibling. Despite thinking they're twins, they still feel like they're missing someone important.
I can't reveal more about Phoenix because my AU had only just managed to begun being rewritten and there's still some spaces to fill in and things to expand upon. I will say this.
Fanon Phoenix's theme (the Phoenix @alena-1987 knows the most) is definitely Clocks by Coldplay.
Original Phoenix's theme, when I had no idea of his personality or what to do with him, is Victorious by Skillet.
Now new/canon Phoenix's intro theme is stuck between Diabolic Clockwork by Two Steps from Hell and Haunted Clock by Gothic Storm. You can tell by the themes how his tone supposed to be. (Haunted Clock sounds like he's building something and you can only guess what that is.) It keeps the clockwork theme like his brothers but he's also supposed to have an eerie-type of feeling around him.
While Rise of the Vermillion is in Krux and Acronix's point of view (as purplefern pointed out in the comments) and I do like the other two themes he's got going for him, Phoenix's final battle theme would no doubt be "Time Claims All" by Damien Casteel. Something that would be further indicating how different he became from his former self and his brothers with Krux and Acronix keeping a high-energetic Heavy Metal theme while Phoenix picks up Orchestra with a hint of melancholy and dread. (Purple is one of the colors of death in Japan after all.)

NInjago AU- Ninjago but it was Autistic!Lloyd's coping mechanism for real life
I'm inspired by that one Harry Potter headcanon where they said Hogwarts was a coping fantasy for Harry so yeah time to get gritty.
Garmadon is an abusive father in the fact that he has anger management issues. So sometimes he's really kind with Lloyd but sometimes he isn't. It got worst after Misako left the family. Lloyd was using the analogy of 'great devourer blood' as an explanation as to why his father was turning evil.
Darkley's School for Bad Boys is just your average Elementary school where they were a bit more mean to Lloyd because he's essentially parentless
In sometime Lloyd leaves his own home because he's scared of Garmadon and goes to his uncle. His uncle takes him in. Now, his uncle is a martial arts teacher and actually has 4 top students: Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole.
The green ninja prophecy was just a thing that Lloyd used to illustrate the 4 fighting each other in order to become Wu's protege and inherit the dojo as well as Wu's technique.
Lloyd have actually met the 'ninja' is Juvenile / tuition and he starts to form a bond with them outside of the dojo. Inside, he's getting trained.
Wu finally told them all that Lloyd was going to inherit the dojo, because he felt that he was slowly nearing death's edge. The great devourer analogy is used here as well.
Evil business corporates, which Kai calls 'snakes', which transforms them into snakes in Lloyd's mind, tries to get the land back from the dojo. So S1 culminates into Wu dying and Garmadon managing to save the dojo.
Of course, the 'ninja' didn't want Lloyd to move back with Garmadon. S2 E1 happens pretty similarly in real life, where the ninja try to find jobs to support Lloyd as well as a good living space for him, because whilst Garmadon had saved the dojo, Wu hadn't written a will and his house is given back to the government.
Throughout S2, the Ninja are fighting a legal battle in order to keep Lloyd from Garmadon. It all ends when Lloyd tells the court that he'd rather be with the Ninja.
Tomorrow's tea is also an analogy as to how Lloyd feels more grown up himself, and in this AU Lloyd just matured by understanding that Garmadon doesn't provide a safe home for him.
Zane actually died in S3. It wasn't a computer virus, but rather, a real life one. Lloyd actually spent some time with his father because of quarantine and the ninja not being able to live together. But Zane couldn't die to a virus! The robot joke cemented Zane as a 'robot' in Lloyd's mind. Rather, Zane just had high functioning autism and the ninja didn't understand it at first but quickly realised what was going on.
I like to think of S4 as an analogy of Lloyd entering middle chool, and he was just sitting for an exam, trying to beat out other students and thinking of the principal/teacher of the school, 'Mr Chen', as the true villain because whoever was setting the questions was evil. He actually works together with his classmates to prepare for the exam and found that by working together, he got a higher grade. He still sees Zane, unable to ccept his death. S4 is also the death of the 'good' Garmadon, and Lloyd's accepted that his kind father was no more.
S5 is just Lloyd dealing with his trauma and abuse. He too may display signs of anger management issues. Lloyd calls this angry side of him 'Morro', and Cole feels like he has bipolar disorder, so they get him diagnose and on meds. Slowly, Lloyd feels the influence of Morro draining out of him, such as Morro not possessing Lloyd as much. He feels like Morro has disappeared, but really, it's just him accepting himself.
S6 was just a weird dream Lloyd had, he must have been asked too many questions by Jay about relationships with Nya since Lloyd is seen as Kai's younger brother.
S7 was just Nya and Kai dealing with their parental issues , aka news that their missing parents were found. Krux and Acronix were kidnappers and held them captive for years.
S8, now that is, ooh. Harumi is a girl Lloyd has a crush on in middle school, and Lloyd's heard rumours that his dad would do anything to get him back. 'Sons of Garmadon' was born through too many ruours and Lloyd just refers to that as a simplification of everything that was happening. He didn't know that Harumi was a trap set by his father, and when he tried to escape by fighting his father he couldn't win. he was sent to the hospital.
Unfortunately, Garmaodn had become a very influential person and sent Kai, Jay, and Cole (and Zane, Lloyd's mind supplies) overseas for their work. This left Nya shielding Lloyd. Together with Skylor, Kai's friend and crush, and PIxal, Zane's girlfriend, they try to tough through the extreme legal battles in order for Lloyd to remain separate.
S9 ending is just Lloyd making his father understand his decision to not go with him. With the fight draining out of him, Garmadon turns himself into the police, trying not to hurt Lloyd anymore.
S10 is the final legal battle where Lloyd tries to remain with the 'ninja'. The oni are Garmadon's workers and now find themselves out of a job. Of course they look to Lloyd for the heir to a Mafia that Garmadon was head of. Lloyd and his father have to work things out legally, and the years away from the other person caused the air between them both to be very awkward. They didn't understand each other at all.

Maya goes full Hama au
[Wu and Garmadon sitting in lawn chairs under an umbrella waiting for Acronix to pop out of the time stream. Maya is cloudgazing and fanning herself while Ray is sharpening his sword in another lawn chair. Kai and Nya are napping.]
Lloyd: Dad I thought you preached against vengeance and violence?
Garmadon: Oh I’m not participating in it actively. But if they want snacks and moral support I’m here for them.
Lloyd: That’s kinda nice but evil.
Garmadon: They’re blackmailing me over the whole Nya kidnapping.
Lloyd: Oh. What’s Uncle doing here?
Wu: Oh I’m here to warn Acronix and give him a little head start.
[ A loud bang is heard as the time stream opens up.]
Maya: Kids it’s murder time!
Ray: Remember the plan!
[ An unholy amount of weapons appears from the gathered Smith family.]
Nya: Leave no survivors! I’ve been waiting for this for years!
I presume Wu was blackmailed into divulging the date and time of Acronix's arrival?

i wanted time twins and morro content so here
to anyone just introduced to the au, harial is morro. in the au morro was a name given to them by the preeminent, and harial is their dead name (theyre nonbinary). this takes place in the past.
its not my best writing nor am i very proud of it but eh whatever
A loud knock jolted the boy from his sleep. His head jerked up from where it had been buried in his pillow and he stared at the door blankly for a few seconds. The boy was vaguely aware of the dried tears staining his cheeks from last night’s sob session, and he raised one hand to try and wipe them off with his sleeve.
“Harial,” the voice that spoke up was stern and frustrated, making the boy- Harial, as he had been called- squirm unpleasantly. “Get out here, I don’t have time for this. I’ve been trying to wake you up for half an hour now.”
Harial paused, silently wondering if it had been that long. He got up nonetheless, refusing to dwell on how much he likely upset his temporary caretaker. Wu was out for the summer to try and find new students — he was mostly looking for other Elemental Masters, but so far everyone was too old or too young. So he was given to the former Master of Time, Aeturnus, until Wu would return.
When the door opened, Harial’s hand swiftly slipping off of the doorknob (he always hated the feel of metal), the older man gave a relieved sigh. He stood a good height taller than Harial, who, even though he was already nearly ten, was significantly short. His mop of black hair was a lot neater than his sons’ hair.
Speaking of those sons, the sound of yelling and scuffling in a nearby area made Harial realize the pair were probably nearby. Aeturnus seemed to come to the same conclusion, letting out an exhausted sigh and not saying anything else to Harial. The boy watched as he walked off towards the direction of the twins, left hovering awkwardly without anything to do.
Harial watched the empty hallway for a few seconds before heading back into his room, snagging the hairbrush that rested on the counter as he went. He settled on the edge of the pale white bed, brushing the tangles from his hair.
“Hari!” The youngest of the twins, Acronix, suddenly appeared in the room with a flash of green light. Harial jumped, staring at him, as the twin grinned widely in a sort of triumphant way. “I got you something, since your dad is out and can’t do it. You wanna see? I promise you’ll like it!”
Harial blinked in confusion but slowly nodded, scooting aside on the seat. Acronix let out a laugh and shut the door so no one else would come in. His hands were tight around a cardboard box that Harial didn’t really notice before. He moved to sit beside the boy, resting the box on the bed between the two of them, and flipped open the lid.
“Take a look, Hari,” Acronix encouraged, moving to cross his legs. His grin never faded. “I got him off the streets and it looked like he had bad owners before so I thought that you would do better. It is your birthday after all!”
It was? Harial didn’t realize it was his birthday, he never really kept track. He didn’t dwell on this that long either, leaning forwards to look into the box. His eyes widened when they met the form of a small kitten, it's fluffy grey-and-white fur poofed up from alarm. Acronix watched on, eagerly awaiting Harial’s reaction.
“Won’t your dad get mad that you brought a cat home?” Harial asked, his voice as quiet as it usually was. He looked up, meeting Acronix’s gaze while carefully slipping a hand in to let the kitten investigate.
Acronix looked as if he hadn’t even thought of that — which, to be fair, he probably hadn’t. His grin fell and he hesitated, looking to the door of the room. He had left Krux behind to deal with their father, figuring since his brother was more of the type to care about rules he would have a way to evade Aeturnus’ punishments. The two of them didn’t really feel like cleaning the entire house again, even if they were allowed to use their powers this time.
“Krux will handle it,” Acronix said after a moment, turning to look back at Harial. He was smiling again. “Just enjoy your present, Hari, you deserve it.”
Harial cast a half-smile, carefully lifting the kitten from the box once he was sure he wasn't going to scare him away. The kitten mewled in surprise but went with it, leaning into Harial once he was close enough. Acronix got back up, him and the box vanishing in a green light with only a yell of “goodbye-have-a-nice-day” as he went. The boy laughed and forgot about cleaning himself up, focusing on the cat, whom he decided to name Thunder.
When Harial was eventually called down for dinner, he had to leave Thunder in his room. He wasn’t very happy about it but he decided he could sneak the kitten some food later. As he neared the kitchen, it was clear Acronix and Krux were arguing again, based off the raised voices and exchanged insults of two small children. Both of them were nearing their eleventh birthday, only a year older than Harial himself.
Aeturnus scolding the twins was the last thing Harial heard before entering the kitchen, staring at the mess before him. Krux had managed to get his brother pinned down, his hand digging hard into the other’s back. Acronix was struggling, both his eyes and hands glowing brightly as he prepared his powers. One of the chairs was toppled over, likely Acronix’s chair.
Reluctantly, Krux got off his brother, adding one last kick into Acronix’s side — it was a light kick, but the boy rolled over with an exaggerated groan nonetheless. “Stop being so dramatic, Nix,” Krux scoffed, lifting Acronix’s chair with his bright yellow powers as he went to his own. “You’re the one who started it.”
“Damn it, Krux!” Aeturnus sighed, spotting Harial in the doorway. “Both of you, sit down, I don’t have time for this. Harial, come in here and join us, Krux and Acronix will behave. Right, kids?”
Acronix muttered something along the lines of a profanity as he got up into his chair, glaring down at his plate of food. He ignored the taunting smile Krux gave him, sulking in silence as if he were turning four instead of eleven.
Harial hesitated a moment but went in nonetheless, sitting at the table too. He stared at the food uneasily, not liking the way it looked. Instead of saying anything, he kept his mouth shut, lifting the fork into one hand and keeping a loose grip. The texture still bothered him but he forced himself to ignore it.
At this point he just wanted to go home.
“Harial, your father is coming to get you tomorrow morning,” Aeturnus said, raising his gaze to look at the miserable boy. Harial only nodded, having to force himself to eat as well.
“Are you alright?” Acronix asked suddenly, leaning forwards in his chair with his elbows resting on the wooden table. He seemed to sense Harial’s discomfort, his head tilting to the side — not unlike a curious puppy. “You look upset,” he elaborated a second later when he didn’t get an answer.
Harial nodded again, avoiding the other boys’ gazes. Instead, he continued to eat, silently wishing for the night to hurry. He didn’t feel any gratitude towards Aeturnus, and although he’d much rather be here than alone at the monastery, he really wanted Wu to hurry and come get him.

Dead Dad! Au pt. 2
Ok! So some more things I wanna add to this little au of mine.
Warning: Mentions of suicide, character death, and all around angst.
First things first! Garmadon’s appearance. Obviously he’s incredibly pale, seeing as he’s basically a walking corpse. He still has his oni markings since that's what he was supposed to be, as well as horns because why not. I like to draw him in more casual clothing rather than his gi because I refuse to draw anyone in their gi lol. He wears bandages around his neck and right hand because reasons…..
(I’ll put up a reference pic later)
Secondly, since Garm can cross the realms of the dead and living, (don’t question it) he kinda becomes Ninjago’s Grim Reaper. Helping the deceased to the after life. Though he typically changes his appearance to look how he did when he was alive thanks to his Oni abilities.
Thirdly, the Garm family and what happened to them afterwards.
So for Wu, as I mentioned before, he becomes incredibly guilty. All he can think about is all the things he should have done or said that could have prevented what had happened. So he closes himself off, becoming colder as the years go on. He only loosens up later down the line when the ninja start to become his family, but it’s for this reason he tends to come off as cruel or cold. He can’t bear the thought of possibly being the fault of their demises as well.
Misako still leaves. However this time is out of grief instead simply abandoning Lloyd. The thought of raising Llyod by herself scares her, so she leaves him at Darkley’s. (I think it’s pretty clear how much I don’t like her so we’ll move on)
Now for Llyod. Here’s the thing, Garmadon died when he was still very young, so poor Llyod doesn’t really know how to feel. Of course it saddens him that he never really got to meet his dad, and the only memories he has are pretty limited. But that’s the thing, Llyod was never really told who his dad was or what he was like by ANYONE. So he kinda just moves on through life. And since there’s no Lord Garmadon, Llyod has no reason to want to be bad. So instead he runs away. He probably still accidentally unleashes the snakes, but probably more out of wanting a place to stay rather than revenge.
As you can imagine, Garmadon took great care in watching over Lloyd and Wu. (he quickly realized how much Misako sucked) He would carefully watch from the shadows, even though no one could see him, he still tried his hardest to let them know he was still there and that he loved them dearly. Though nothing ever worked. He especially felt guilty when around Wu. Watching his little brother blame himself made Garm feel like he was dying all over again. And watching his baby boy being forced to grow up and take on the whole world broke him to pieces. He wanted so badly to help them, to let them know he was there for them. But he could do nothing but watch.
Now here’s a few characters that were also affected.
Krux. Bet you weren’t expecting that!
See, me and a friend always headcanons that Krux and Acronix were actually really close with the other EMs. However their quest for power broke that bond. And when his brother was banished, Krux’s need for revenge only strengthened. Which is why he took Ray and Maya captive.
So you can imagine how much he understood the pain of losing a brother.
In response, he let Ray and Maya go, knowing that they too were close to FSM bros, and would be heartbroken at the news.
However, it allowed Kai and Nya to grow up with parents instead of Kai having to raise Nya himself. And Krux still ran the museum, but he became someone the EMs grew to trust again rather than fear.
Morro! I’ll explain in another post. ;)
And of course since there’s no Lord G, other villians rise to fill the role. I’ll expand on this later lol.
Now here is the main premise of the story.
Ever since the day of the departed, Cole was still able to see spirits and entities beyond the land of the living.
What he didn’t expect was to notice some dude following around Lloyd and Master Wu.
Now, when Cole confronts the strange man, he didn’t expect the guy to get so excited.
HOLY SHIT SOMEONE COULD SEE HIM!!!!!!
Garm was ecstatic! He immediately explained who he was (a bit too quickly for Cole to understand) and practically begged this kid to summon him.
But unfortunately, Garmadon made one mistake.
He mentioned he was a demon.
And Cole was not cool with that.
Cole immediately doesn’t trust him and instead refuses to summon Garm. There was no way his story could be true!
So the story goes on with funny shenanigans of Garm trying to convince Cole to summon him, but Cole keeps refusing until he’s sure Garmadon is actually who he says he is. Which is kinda difficult since he can’t really ask anyone...
