Gonna be a hot minute til next dice drop, I've been doing nothing but customs the last few weeks. (So if you want dice in any urgency you'll have to jump into the commish queue) But here's some fun I was having with some mystery dice. These rosebud d6s were from a couple of failed full sets so I decided to experiment with a matte finish with a polished crit side. I actually love them so much I think I'm going to have to work on a full set of matte finished dice.

Bit of a silly ttrpg industry rant here, but I'm really tired of every indie ttrpg just being PBtA. Like, its a fine enough engine, I guess, but it's sorta the 5e of d6 engines at this point, not everything needs to be pbta. I dunno, I guess I'd like to see more small team trrpgs do weirder stuff, or at least use dice or some other mechanic that isn't JUST d6s.

This isn't anything personal mind you, Ive played and enjoyed both PBtA games and 5e games, and my favorite engine (PF2e) is hardly indie or without its own flaws, but its just been bugging me a little that every time independent ttrpgs come up everyone seems to act like PBtA is the only option while also pitching it as this hidden gem no one has ever heard of.
