Sorry for being behind on posting!! I've been going through alot lately...

In November I left my friend group because I didn't like how they were treating me and it was just a lot of things that led up to me leaving.

Recently one of those friends had a birthday and a couple people from my family said happy birthday to them which made me upset which is stupid but whatever. Yesterday one of them made a post with a picture that I TOOK that they cropped me out of.

It's really all coming together that none of them really cared about me and I was right for leaving. Noone checked in on me to make sure I was alright. They were so selfish about it and Noone took accountability 😮‍💨

But whatever. I'm free now

Interesting. I (Cypher) haven't been this present in ages. Probably because it's Halloween, which is the trauma anniversary of something that eventually led to my formation. I don't often front anymore, especially not without an external trigger. I fused so fully with Lior a while back, we were the first two to fuse and I only come more to the forefront in emergencies, which this is not. But it's been a difficult week for us and this is a trying time of year. I shouldn't be so surprised to suddenly find myself mostly alone in front I suppose. But I haven't fronted alone in at least a year, and it's somewhat odd to be here tonight. I suppose I'll be responsible and put us to bed? Because I really do not know what else to do, I feel very caught off guard being here like this.

how often do you think the warriors have brief moments of anger, or sadness, or bitterness over the fact that, if mercy had kept her mouth shut in union square for ten more seconds, they'd have gotten to hear fox's cypher one last time? instead, mercy jumped the gun, and then fox died. the last time she sang her cypher was back before cyrus died.

Yes, I still watch YouTube Animators. Yes, I watched them after the whole blowup in 2017ish (I started watching them in 2021, mind you). Yes, it’s one of the only things I watch on a daily basis. But you have to understand, they motivate me to draw and animate everyday. They have shown TONS of growth over the years, and they should be appreciated more for than what it’s worth. Yes, we have AWESOME indie animation projects like Lackadaisy, The Amazing Digital Circus, Far-Fetched, etc, but we have them too, wether it be big or small. There are people my age who are willing to do the same thing and who are inspired by those people too. PLEASE, appreciate animators on YouTube because they deserve a LOT more love and support.

Im very much of the stance of "dungeons and dragons as a table top role playing game has way overstepped where it needs to be and we need to support and play more indie or at least varied table top game systems in order to have a more well rounded experience as a roleplayer while showing support for writers outside of wizards of the coast". Gonna take a moment here to note that it looks like they've gone back on that ugly ass Revelation design and have restored him to his former boyfailure twink glory. I'm going to have to start following Adjectiveless just to read the issue he's in (which I think comes out in July).

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I have to choose just one? I mean, there's the fact that he's Just a Dude-- while yeah, that got him killed off in the 80s, I have such a soft spot for X-Men who don't have big, flashy powers or are larger-than-life type people. Doug's just a guy. Just a guy named Doug. And I adore him for it.

I do also really appreciate his autistic subtext. It would be nice to have a canon austistic character who isn't (overly) infantalized, or stereotypical, or weirdly retconned (not touching that Monet storyline with a ten foot pole). Which looking back at the question, Doug being autistic isn't a canon thing about him, but the subtext is strong.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

The superior Douglock, of course. While I headcanon Doug as aroace-spec, it's canon in my heart that he and Warlock are in a qpr. This is of course no shade to Bei, I adore her and love the panels of her carrying Doug around, I just also think he should be in a queerplatonic relationship with his techno-organic alien robot best friend.

24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

Gonna blame the DC/Batfamily brainrot but Tim Drake. I mean, they're both such boy scouts with a mean streak who have a strong personal code. Is that code moral? They think so, and that's what matters. Also, they both have incredibly strong queer subtext with their best friend that got ignored. And they're short. I don't actually know how tall Doug is in canon, but he gives short vibes.

Thanks for the Doug ask, I needed an excuse to think about him again! I'm in DC brainrot hell, and it's good for the health to spin the X-Men around in my mind.
