Little intro post for an OC I’ve been kicking around for a while:

Name: Reyna “Rey” Cynthia Ramon

Fandom: The Flash

Birthday: January 9th, 2019

Family/Relationships: Cisco Ramon (father, primary guardian), Kamilla Hwang (stepmother, also primary guardian), Cynthia “Charmer” Reynolds (mother), Nora West-Allen (best friend, love interest)

Bio: Reyna was a surprise to both her parents, born in January 2019…but despite that, there was never any doubt that despite her parents no longer being together, they loved her more than anything.

Things got complicated after Crisis, though…especially after Reyna’s powers manifested. Cynthia and Cisco had more than a few fights—Cynthia wanted Reyna to become a Collector, protecting her from Earth-1’s anti-meta laws, while Cisco refused to let Cynthia deny Reyna a normal life. So instead, Cisco, with the powers he’d kept for his daughter’s sake, trained her to control her powers and gave her Caitlin’s old necklace to make up the difference. And for years, Kamilla raised Reyna, with Cisco popping up every once in a while to visit.

It was a few years later in primary school when she met Nora West-Allen, born only a year after her (January 2020)—a girl she briefly remembered from a few fuzzy memories of before-Crisis. Nora vaguely remembered her the same way, and the girls hit it off, inseparable from then on. Little did they know that they would change each other’s lives forever.

So yesterday I did a Blorbo Bingo post for Cynthia Reynolds and I really can't stop thinking about her now. This is where fanfic ideas come from and I don't need more, but of course my brain laughs at me and supplies the new fanfic idea anyway. Dunno if I'll ever write this one up as an actual fic, but it's a cool idea and I think would have fit better with Cynthia's S3 arc better than what we got in S4.

Set post S3 and Cynthia and Cisco are friends now who are both acknowledging the mutual attraction, but not doing anything about it. For her part, relationships with people from other Earths is forbidden - being friends is pushing it as it is, but she's not the first person to make 'allies' off world with the Collectors. So as long as that's where things stay, she's fine. On Cisco's part, he's gotten a bit obsessed with bring Barry back and just... doesn't have the time to be the hero Vibe for Central City, splitting team lead duties with Iris, mentoring Wally who has stepped into Barry's shoes, work on something to rescue Barry, and be an attentive new boyfriend to someone who isn't even on the same Earth as him 90% of the time. So neither of them are quite willing to take that step yet.

Since not just sparing HR, but seeing the good he accomplished on Earth 1 and continuing to collaborate with them afterwards, Cynthia's started to question some of the Collectors policies and E19 laws specifically. She's never been totally comfortable with those things, but they were the law and she was doing the right thing by enforcing them. Right? Now she's not so sure. So she lets a few more breachers get away. A young woman escaping an abusive home life. An older gentleman who just wants see the stars again for the last few months of his life. An artist whose works were destroyed for being too subversive but, at least in Cynthia's opinion, were perfectly legal critics of their current system.

She reports them dead, of course. Can't return dead targets. The Accelerated Man - her direct superior and reporting handler - hasn't gotten suspicious. Yet. But, she's nervous anyway. Because now she's breaking the law. Again. Just like she did with HR.

It'd grow from there. Being skeptical of the ethics of her own organization leads her to question the government that backs that organization too. The more she learns, the more she questions. And questioning is not safe.

She probably talks to Cisco about some of this. But she doesn't want him to know just how much danger she may be putting herself into. Not yet. But she does know that if she needs a safe place to flee to, Cisco will help her with that. It's the kind of person he is and that just makes her like him more.

Cynthia winds up connecting with rebel groups, learning more about them and even protecting some. There's a civil war brewing right under the Collectors noses and they're all too busy being good little worker bees to realize.

Well. The Breachers are. Their handlers?

The Accelerated Man does notice what Cynthia's been up to. And as far as he's concerned, they're not friends. They're coworkers. The state may not be perfect, but it needs to be upheld at all costs. And if Cynthia is turning subversive, then she needs to be eliminated.

Realizing the danger she's in, Cynthia escapes to E1 and Cisco helps her defeat the Accelerated Man. He's learned Cynthia's trick for stopping speedsters in their tracks. But takes it now to a level Cynthia hadn't thought possible - he strips the Accelerated Man of his powers.

Cynthia isn't ready to give up on her home yet and so she asks Cisco to help her perform one last 'treasonous' act until the revolution starts in earnest and she goes back permanently to be a part of that. Because she wants to be a part of that - needs to, in order to trust her world won't be exchanging one totalitarian regime for another. She wants to hack the Collectors and show her fellow vibers the true danger their in from their handlers. The full extent of the consequences of their actions from 'just following orders'.

Some won't care or will ignore it, but enough might care - if not about others then about themselves - to really shake things up. If she can achieve it.

By this time Barry's back on E1 which means Cisco has fewer responsibilities than he did at the start of the fic. So Cisco feels comfortable agreeing to take the risks with her. And that's what they go do.

It's only afterwards that, finally, back on E1 safe and sound, that they both feel comfortable enough to finally act on their mutual feelings for each other. They know, eventually, they'll be drawn in different directions. But they're hoping by the time that happens they'll be able to handle the long distance relationship, even knowing Cynthia will be headed to war.

For now, well... she'd really like to learn that trick Cisco did with depowering the Accelerated Man.

‘Whoa, slow down with your plan. Start from the beginning - why are we pretending to be dating?’ Cynthia perches on a computer chair in Cisco’s workshop, legs up and crossed in the seat.

‘Jitters is having a couple discount all through February. Don’t you want cheaper coffee?’ Cisco looks up briefly from his tablet.

‘Does the discount apply to everything?’

‘I think so? At least I don’t see any fine print…’

‘I’m in.’

He swivels his chair around to face her, beef jerky paused midway to his mouth. ‘Wait, that’s it? You don’t even need to know what they count as proof of being a couple before agreeing?’

‘Come on, it’s coffee! They probably just need a few cheesy photos of us together. I’m totally buying the largest pack of ground coffee they have.’

‘More like a whole shipment of it.’

‘Mmm hmmm.’ Cynthia hums noncommittally, mentally going over the layout of the STAR Labs building and planning where to store the coffee stash. In an abandoned employee pantry perhaps? No, it’s logical and the stash will disappear faster than she can open a portal. What about in a store room? There are plenty of them near the cortex.

‘How do you even manage to control your vibes after drinking so much coffee? Don’t you get jittery?’

‘You do? Interesting.’

Cisco narrows his eyes at her and writes himself a memo to research on how caffeine dosage affects his vibes.

‘Well, if you wanna get enough coffee tonight to keep you up for 3 days, we should take pics now. They’re closing in 2 hours.’ he pulls out his phone and snaps a photo of them lounging around the workshop. ‘You should take a few too, or it won’t be convincing.’

They look up cheesy couple poses online.

Iris and Wally are queuing for pastries in Jitters when they see Cynthia and Cisco chatting and laughing in their own bubble at a window booth.

‘You now owe me a croque madame, baby bro. Told you they’re dating.’ Iris nudges Wally around with a smug smile, ‘Stop staring.’

Wally grumbles and pats down his pockets for his wallet.

‘I can’t believe we got the discount so easily, they didn’t even ask for a pic to prove.’ Cynthia declares once she and Cisco step out of the cafe.

‘What can I say? They ship us.’ he glances at the box of ground coffee she is hugging and smirks. ‘And of course, the puppy face I pulled to get you that “urgent coffee fix” was an instant hit.’

‘That scene was a little over the top, but I appreciate what you did all the same.’ she loops an arm with him.

‘Maybe next time we don’t need to pretend to get a couple discount?’

She tilts her head pretending to think, ‘Ah. Are you seriously asking me out right after pretending to date?’

‘Are you saying yes?’ his smirk morphs into a nervous half-grin, fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.

‘Well, honestly this evening already feels like a date.’

‘Lemme rephrase then. Do you wanna go on an official date with me?’

She smiles at him softly and pulls him closer, ‘Sure, where’s this Thai restaurant you mentioned when we first met?’

Request; So there are literally NO Gypsy one shots (the flash) and I was wondering if you could be the first? Something along the lines of Cisco and Cynthia never get together, Cynthia and reader go to Earth 1 to help with Devoe, and but reader finds out she’s losing her powers? Idc what her powers are

“Thanks for coming to help you guys,”

You smile over at Barry next to you, arms crossed as you stared down at the bagged gun, used for evidence as Barry had told you when you arrived,

“You two are up,” Barry nods, and you purse your lips, glancing up at your girlfriend next to Cisco,

“How does this work?” Cisco asks, as you move to stand beside Cynthia, lifting the bagged gun and holding it between you,

“To Co-Vibe, we have to be completely in sync,” Cynthia explains, eyes flicking up to you with a small smile,

“Which, shouldn’t be a problem with us,” You continue, grinning, “But if it comes to let’s say, Cisco,” You glance to the long haired male, “You and I aren’t as close, connected as Cynthia and I, so we wouldn’t be as stable enough to endure a Co-Vibe,”

Cisco nods, watching as you gesture the bag to Cynthia, her hand extending so she could hold the other end of the bag, and Cisco notices by your expressions that you had vibed,

You flinch away from the bag and rub your temple, Cynthia blinking and setting down the bagged gun so she can grab at your arm, stabling you from where you had pinched your brows together,

“What was that?” Iris asks, instantly noticing your discomfort from the action, “Are you okay?”

“Y/Ns vibes haven’t been as strong lately,” Cynthia explains, and you nod her hand away, and look up to the other team members,

“Well what did you see?” Barry asks, ignoring Cisco’s slight glare as he didn’t give you a moment to compose yourself,

“Uh, a dock,” You mutter, glancing over to Cynthia as she turns,

“It looked like a shipping compartment,”

Barry nods, eyes flicking to Iris then Cisco, “I know where he’s going,”

“Look, guys, I know Y/Ns powers are unstable and Cisco and Gypsy don’t have a strong enough connection,” An alarm blares over Barry’s voice, his figure standing in front of you and Cynthia, “But we need to find out what kind of weapon Devoes making and now,”

You look over at Cisco holding the small metal piece stolen from Devoe, his arm sticking out so you took it, exhaling a sharp breath as you turn to Cynthia, holding out the metal hesitantly,

Cynthia raises her eyebrows, slightly asking if you were okay enough, and you nod, Cynthia grasping the opposite end of the piece, watching as a quick flicker of black and white hits her vision,

You yelp when your body is suddenly thrown back, Cynthia dropping onto her side as the metal clanged onto the floor, your groan weak as you push onto your back, sucking in a deep breath to stop the throbbing in your head,

“Hey! Hey,” Cisco runs next to you and kneels down, hand at your shoulder as he glances over at Cynthia, who had easily sat up, her hand on her forehead, “You guys okay?”

“Yeah,” Cynthia breathes, but you only force your eyes shut, hand reaching up to press to your own head,

“I think I need to lay here for a minute,” You murmur, Cynthia now at your free side, her hands at your arms to help you sit up,

“No more vibing until we find out what’s wrong with you,” She orders, standing to pull you with her,

“How are they?” Cisco, Iris and Barry turn to Caitlin exiting the medic bay, where you and Cynthia were seated,

“Physically?” Caitlin starts, “Fine. Y/Ns got a bruise or two. Mentally, Gypsys perfectly okay,”

“But what about Y/N?” Cisco asks, worried for his friend, “Her powers have been wack ever since she and Gypsy got here. She can’t even vibe properly anymore,”

Caitlin pauses, glancing over her shoulder so she could see Cynthia handing you her water bottle, which you take easily,

“Y/Ns losing her powers,” Caitlin explains, watching as her three team members stopped to stare, “I don’t know how to tell her. She relies on her powers just as much as we all do, and you heard from her, she’s super stuck with her connection of being able to vibe with Gypsy,”

“Well we have to eventually tell her,” Iris states, “We can’t just let her lose them herself,”

“Maybe we should tell Gypsy first,” Cisco suggests, frowning, “Y/N will probably take the news better from her,”

Barry nods, looking down at the computer screen that suddenly began to beep, “Hey, guys?” He calls, you looking over so Cynthia followed, “We need you,” Barry looks at the original team, “Do not tell them until after we’ve located Devoe,”

You move up to the control panel and lean in next to Barry, staring down at the screen, “We’ve found out what Devoe is doing. Making machines, machines that work together but they’re still separate,”

“Separate machines working for one purpose?” You question, brows pinched, “They’ll need something to communicate together,”

“So a quantum computer,” Caitlin states, Cisco raising his head in realization,

“Mercury Labs just put a whole system of quantum computers online at their home base, that’s where he’s going,”

“Okay great,” Iris nods, “We take Devoe by surprise, once and for all,”

“Stand down, Lady Devoe,” Hands raised, you slowly step up to the woman in front of you, who stares at you with her blade raised,

Eyes narrowing, Marlize lunges forward so you duck away, grunting when her free hand reaches out and pulled at your uniforms front, her foot kicking the back of your knee so you tumbled forward, gasping out in surprise,

You land on your front and turn onto your back, hands raising, vibe blasts in the color of (Favorite/Color) glitching so you furrowed your brows,

You look up at the blade raised above Marlize’s head; looking over in alert when a blast of red knocks Marlize off her feet, your eyes widening when Cynthias figure is froze, following her line of sight of Devoe across from her,

“Let her go,” You grunt, standing up, raising your hands a second time, squinting at your hands when nothing happens. You move forward, “Dammit, let her go!”

You feel your body freeze, Devoes free hand extended to you so you knew he was the reason, your jaw clenched in terror for your girlfriend gasping for breath at the invisible pressure around her throat,

“Clifford, stop!” Marlize orders, hand rubbing her chest where Cisco had landed a kick, “This is not apart of our plan,”

Devoe looks over at her, eyes narrowed to his wife. After a moments pause, his arms drop so your body jerks forward, catching yourself to run up to Cynthias collapsed figure, hands at her shoulders in a panic,

“Baby?” You plea, hands sliding up to her face, her eyes shut, “Cynthia!”

Cisco moves to your side as you shake your head, finger pressing to Cynthias neck in search for a pulse, “God damn it. Cynthia, please,” You look up at Cisco, his frown deepening upon your tears, “My powers glitched. I couldn’t save her,”

In time, Cynthia gasps in a deep breath underneath your hands, her eyes opening so she could look up at you, the tear in the corner of your eye falling free when your eyes flutter shut in relief, pulling her to sit up like she had done to you an hour before,

“I’m so sorry,” You whisper, Cynthias brows furrowing as she slides her arm to your shoulder, hand cupping the back of your neck, “My powers stopped working and I couldn’t stop him-,”

“Wait, your powers stopped working?” Cynthia leans back, searching your face as the realization had sunk into you, grip releasing on her backside as you look at Cisco, who frowns knowingly,

“So they’re gone for good?” Cynthia crosses her arms and stares at the television screen in front of her, that showed your cells complared to the dark matter, that was barely in your blood,

“It’s close to that, yes,” Caitlin nods, frowning, “Do you want help telling her?”

Cynthia turns, gaze on the floor as she racked her brain for an answer, “No,” She finally says, looking up, “I think it’s best I tell her. Thank you for your help,”

“Of course,” Caitlin smiles, looking over when you step into the cortex, finger at your temple and eyes shut,

“Hey,” Cynthia steps up, hand at your hip so you brought your attention to her, “Can I talk to you?”

“I already know,” You murmur, Cynthias eyes flicking between yours in search for emotion, “They’re gone. I can’t bring them back,”

“I’m sorry, baby,” Cynthia murmurs, and you shrug, crossing your arms as you look down,

“Guess I need to resign my spot, huh?” You force a smile and look up, Cynthia raising her hand to your jaw so your eyes met hers,

“This isn’t going to change anything between us,” She states, firmly, “Just because you can’t Co-Vibe anymore and we don’t have that ‘connection’ you rely on so much, doesn’t mean I love you any less,”

You nod, sniffling, Cynthia moving to slide her arm to your lower back, allowing you to press yourself against her and sigh heavily into her shoulder,

Caitlin glances at Cisco and frowns, Cisco’s eyes watching the couple in hopes that he could help you,

Cynthia slowly pulls back and leans down to meet your eyes, smiling as she lifts her her hand back up to your cheek, thumb running over the watery skin beneath your eye, “Ready to head home?”

“Yeah,” You nod, swallowing, “Yeah, let’s go,”

Cynthia takes your hand and squeezes, turning to the other two meta humans and stopping herself from getting irritated at the fact that they had watched your emotional moment, “I’m glad we could help somewhat with Devoe,”

“Thanks for your help, ladies,” Caitlin smiles, Cynthia glancing at you before she forms a breach, tugging you to stand next to her so she could slide her arm to your waist, tugging you into the breach so you landed in her apartment,

You yelp when you’re almost pushed to the side, landing in a heap on the shared bed of yours and Cynthias, looking up at the long haired woman already climbing above you, her smile soft despite her hot hands trailing down your sides,

“Cynthia,” You murmur, your girlfriend humming in question as she leans down, attaching her lips to your neck so she could bite down, your hand in her hair tightening when her tongue rolls over the teeth marks, “Were you serious? About still loving me even if I’m not a breacher anymore?”

Cynthia leans up to stare at you, her hand at the button of your jeans pausing so she could lean back down, pressing her mouth against yours, slowly,

“I loved you before you had powers, and I love you after you lost powers,” She promises, pressing a kiss to your jaw before latching back onto your neck, fingers now pulling your jean button open as you shut your eyes, moaning out when her hand slides underneath the fabric of your pants,

Your brows furrow as your free hand drags across her shoulder, covered by her leather jacket so she was unharmed by your nails. You suck in a deep breath, eyes opening to stare up at the roof as Cynthias fingers made their way into your undergarments.

Please be aware that we will not allow any work that uses Cynthia’s code name. We understand that the name is canon, however, it is widely considered a very offensive slur. We have made the decision that this name does not belong in this event, and we will not be making any exceptions.

Non-con between Cisco and Cynthia is also not allowed.

Please make sure to tag any possible triggers. This includes (but is not limited to) death, self harm, violence etc. Also ensure to tag NSFW for content that may deem it necessary.

Budgets and Bargains

Note: Another idea I have for the prompt, Flashpoint!Cynco (theme of day 1). I’m not too happy about the ending scene… and the whole 4 times of interaction - I wanted to do a 3+1 thing if it’s not clear in the fic. It feels kind of flat but eh.

Cynthia has been pouring over paperwork for 10 hours straight but is still buried chest-deep in documents, in both literal and physical senses of the expression. No, seriously, the files she needs to look over are stacked to an alarming height next to her desk. Complicated patent application drafts waiting to be checked before sending back for applicants to revise or off to the Central City Patents Registry, references she is reading through to make sure new patents Ramon Industries employees are applying for do not infringe on existing patents, and paperwork for her team - the patents affairs division - such as work distribution, and records on receiving and sending the looked over drafts to the appropriate people.

She and her team have been working overtime until at least 8 pm every business day for 2 months; they are understaffed for the rocketing workload accompanying the meteoric rise of the company. The sacrifice in personal time is deeply felt across the office, many on the team have whispered about barely having time for dinner with family. Everyone is burnt out but no one has acknowledged it. Yet.

As the head of division, it is Cynthia’s responsibility to address this issue.

Petitioning Mr Ramon to raise budgets for expanding the patents division is an art in itself.

The first time, Cynthia emails him, citing the workload and requests allocating budget for adding 2 more legal staff to her team.

He replies in 5 minutes, stating that he will look into it.

After that, it has been another month but there is no word about adjusting the departmental budget.

The second time, Cynthia corners Ramon in the lift when he returns from lunch, letting him know about low morale in the patents division.

‘Nah uh, not now. My green smoothie’s waiting.’ he walks out of the lift briskly and waves her away.

‘You don’t need your mouth to listen! That’s what ears are for!’

He pretends not to hear her.

Frankie, his secretary, catches her eye and smiles apologetically, then jogs after her boss.

The third time, Cynthia follows Cisco around his bi-monthly departmental visit, under the guise of needing to discuss about his patent documents in person. Frankie trails a few steps behind them.

‘Patent applications would be edited and confirmed so much faster, if only the division had more staff to check them over.’ she remarks nonchalantly.

‘And the division would get them sooner, if only their head lawyer would agree to talk about it over dinner.’

‘Isn’t that blackmail?’

‘It’s a conditional offer. Your call, not mine.’

‘I don’t have time for this.’ Cynthia huffs, turning on her heels to go back to her files. Frankie squeezes her arm sympathetically as she passes by.

The fourth time, Cynthia manages to convince Frankie to squeeze 10 minutes from Cisco’s schedule for her petition. At the scheduled time, she marches into Cisco’s office.

With legs on the desk, Cisco glances at her out of the corner of his eyes and shoots a ball at the hoop, but does not spin fully around to face her.

Pressing her palms to the top of the desk, Cynthia blocks Cisco’s line of sight of the hoop. ‘If you don’t let my team expand, there’ll be a strike. Do you really want the whole Industries’ worth of patent documents held up? That can’t be good for business.’

‘How kind of you to be concerned about my company.’

‘Which I’m a part of. I don’t want to look for another job, Ramon.’ she glares at him.

‘Fine,’ Cisco leans back in his chair, ‘you know what, I’m gonna boost your division’s budget enough for hiring 5 more people.’

‘If?’

‘If nothing.’

They stare at each other unblinkingly for 10 seconds, silently challenging the other to cave first.

Cynthia straightens and crosses her arms, ‘You’re a businessman, there’s always something in it for you.’

Cisco sighs, ‘True… Well, if I bump up your budget, will you join me for dinner sometimes?’

‘Is that a demand?’
