Today 🌞

Three nets gave us 13 perches and three common rudd that we usually throw back into the sea (they have so many bones), but today we got enough perches that we could smoke most of them for lunch and use the rest + the common rudd to make fish soup.

My hands still smell of fish hours later, but that's a small price to pay (I'm the one who kills and cleans the fish in our family)!

Have you ever heard about the reproductive cycle of freshwater eels?

These freaks swim out of rivers into the ocean to fuck and die, then their offspring are blown by ocean currents back to the land where they then sliver across through wet grass into rivers.

Also they're transparent for a little bit.

Anyways, remember this idea about what if there were primarily land-based crayfish?

Well, what if there was also a fantastical species of land eel that spent most of its time on land in particularly damp and humid parts of your world.

Why you could even have these eels be elementally charged, the obvious choice would be electricity because . . . well you know electric eels are a thing for real (but are also apparently not actually eels), but I'd imagine that an eel that can launch itself at prey by using air would also be a pretty neat and scary sight.

Reread @naffeclipse’s fic Apex Polarity and I simply could not get the thought of meeting Eclipse in a warmer area out of my head. I think it would be funny and leave more opportunities for Eclipse to be “curious” or learn more about human things. Specifically I love the idea of introducing him to pool floateies and I don’t know why

Not to mention I think it would be easier for his courting intentions to be realized sooner, since he can have you around for longer without danger to yourself or raising suspicion. Just a fun idea I think
