I’m sorry if this is kinda basic, but if you put a well written “lovers are reborn and find each other in almost all of their lives” story beat in front of me, I will 9 times outta 10 eat that shit up.

The death of humans is cruel at times, because they slowly begin to lose the abilities that characterize them.

They slowly die in the dark.

Xeno was a hairy alien, his body was heavy and thick enough not to freeze to death on this planet where he and the human Javi were stranded.

They both walked in their suits, until the human couldn't walk anymore, he fell in the snow, with a heavy breath. Xeno tried some many things to help him, but in the end, he could only make it to a cave to hide from the wind.

The peripheral vessels of his body were contracting from the cold, Xeno tried to cling to him and warm him, but his body was not enough to save the human.

They had spent hours in that position, Javi had gone from a shaky state to being drugged with his own hormones and endorphins, his blood and heartbeat slowing as his body desperately tried to keep his vital organs working.

Soon his temperature would drop to over eighty degrees, his breathing short, but he still hugged his furry companion to find some warmth.

Maybe because he couldn't move his arms anymore.

"Xeno..." The human barely spoke to him now, the hairy alien couldn't bear to see him like this, he tried a thousand ways to contact the ship, but every attempt was unsuccessful, he didn't know what to do, he could only hug the human like he taught him and try to keep him alive until his companions find them. "Human Javi, you are one of those immortal humans! Don't die like this! Please, I don't want to be alone... I won't let you go!"

Xeno tried to get attached, but after a few minutes, the human only had his eyes open and was looking in a random direction. "Xeno... I can't... see you, are you still there?"

The human's eyes failed and he just stood in the dark.

"I'm here!" Xeno tried to talk to him, but the human's body had frozen. "I'm here..."

The little alien could only add a simple sentence to the rumors of the humans.

Humans really are space orcs, they have the most horrible way to die.

... They die in the dark.

I kept forgetting that swim forms existed so this was a long time coming, but here it is! The xeno beasties! Here's my page on Inklings and the one on Octolings if you'd like more information!

These guys function basically the exact same as they do in the game, the only difference is that each species has slightly different stats.

Inklings are faster and have higher manoeuvrability, but they struggle to climb walls and they're easier to splat. Octolings are much slower swimmers, but they are bulky (harder to splat) and can climb terrain with ease.

Swim forms are a temporary state an inkfish can revert into as a defence mechanism, or to better traverse their environment. IT's a very complicated process, but essentially it works by the Inkfish contracting and squishing themselves into a smaller shape, combined with a rapid reconstruction/reorganisation of the guts. All the systems stay the same, but some will shrink into uselessness while other organs are enlarged. Examples include the lungs which shrink and develop primitive gill structures, and the ink sac which stretches and grows to fill nearly the entire body.

It's also why Inkfish expel ink everywhere when transforming, as their ink sacs are smaller when bipedal so they need to forcefully eject the excess through the mouth/siphon/skin when shifting forms.

Also the reproductive system shrivels entirely, minus the egg pouch so any eggs that might be in there aren't squished too bad in the process. It's still a bad idea, gravid Inklings will find the shifting process extremely uncomfy and even painful so don't do it please. No turf war when preggo! It's a rule! you'll hurt baby!

Also as I briefly mentioned eariler Inkfish swim forms can breathe both air AND through ink/water! Yes they can swim, no it's not fantastic for them if the water's dirty they get sick from that easily. but they can still do it! Yay! return to ocean!

Actually kind of entranced by the idea Irken PAKs rapidly overload when made to process active sexuality, which they weren't designed to accommodate, and the accompanying implication that Zim literally can get so horny his brain short-circuits. Irkens don't have orgasms they just get overstimulated to point that their RAM implodes on itself and renders them virtually non-functional for the next forty minutes
