I wanted to try painting a Rathalos from Monster Hunter. I'm unsure if I tried painting one in the past, but I feel like this one helped me learn a lot with layering watercolors. This painting ended up being many many layers of trusting the process, which I feel helped me understand a bit more about my approach to layers with watercolors. I still have plenty to learn, but I feel happy seeing some improvement.

I think he turned out better than the Lavasioth, and I'll probably end up painting more.

Daniel Smith/Mijello Mission Gold watercolors Prismacolor Pencils Cold press watercolor paper 140lb, approx 5x7* (I think, though the paper weight might be different.)
