Adventure Fit Dojo - Get Fit For Your Next Adventure
Martial Arts
Martial arts classes are an excellent way for teenagers to get in shape and learn self-defense. They also teach discipline, respect, and teamwork.
Martial art techniques are based on fighting skills that originated in Asia. Today, many people practice martial arts for sport or for self-defense.
They are typically ranked according to their skill level and wear colored belts that indicate the degree of their ability. Students can learn a variety of different martial arts, including karate, taekwondo, and judo.
Teens who are interested in trying out martial arts should discuss their goals with the instructor and check with their pediatrician before enrolling. Then, they can learn how to balance their body and mind for health and wellness.
Some schools also offer family classes for teens and adults. They can be a great way for teens to bond with their parents and improve their mental health. Moreover, they may be more likely to participate in physical activity because they can be involved in a fun, positive activity.
Climbing
Climbing is a sport that takes you places, both physically and mentally. It’s a way to get out and be active, and it also helps you build life-long friendships within your community.
Whether you’re looking to improve your technical climbing skills or progress on Team Flash Training League, we offer a variety of classes that will help you improve and achieve your goals. You’ll work with experienced coaches to help you learn proper technique, team building games and activities, and develop the mental skills needed to climb to your full potential.
A former climbing instructor, Ted Welser started guiding and promoting the sport in Ohio in 2016. He believes that Ohio has much to offer the climbing community. He is proud to be a part of the Ohio Climbers Coalition and hopes to continue working with climbers in this region to help preserve climbing areas and encourage sustainable practices.
Fitness
Located in Zephyr Cove, this Nevada youth training center is the new kid on the block. Among its many offerings is a state of the art indoor climbing facility complete with a spray wall, a multi-level training center and a whole lot more. The facility is a must for anyone who wants to get fit for their next big adventure. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is relaxing and inspiring. The best part is you can be as active as you want without having to worry about breaking a sweat! The gym also has a full range of yoga and pilates classes to keep you on the right track. The most expensive class is a two-month long boot camp priced at $899. The perks include unlimited access to the climbing center, yoga and Pilates classes, free weights and weightlifting equipment, a nutritionist, and a private trainer.
Yoga
Yoga is an ancient system of practices that aim to balance the mind and body through breathing techniques, postures, relaxation and meditation. It can help people relieve stress, improve mental health, manage pain and sleep better.
It can also help people maintain or improve their physical fitness. Research shows that regular practice can strengthen the heart, boost endurance, improve flexibility and increase strength.
In addition, it can increase energy and brighter moods. It can also help people with chronic conditions, including arthritis, osteopenia and balance problems.
It can ease loneliness and connect people with a community. In a group class, people can get support and encouragement from classmates or instructors. During one-on-one sessions, they can work with an instructor to customize a program to suit their specific needs.
We coach climbers who have hit a plateau and want to progress, build the physical and mental strength they need to unlock their potential. Come train with us here at Adventure Fit Dojo in Climbing Gym Zephyr Cove!

How to Choose the Right Kids Fitness Franchise for Your Family?
If you are looking for a great way to get your kids involved in a healthy activity, a Kids Fitness Franchise could be the perfect solution. This type of business offers a wide variety of exercises and activities that help children develop their physical, mental, and emotional skills. With so many different options available, it can be difficult to know which one is right for your family. To make the best choice, consider the following criteria when selecting a Kids Fitness Franchise. First, you should look for a program that offers a variety of activities, so your children can choose the ones that best suit their interests and abilities. Second, look for a program that is tailored to your family's needs, such as offering classes for children of different ages and abilities. Finally, make sure the program is led by certified trainers who are knowledgeable and passionate about working with children. By carefully considering these factors, you can make sure you select the best Kids Fitness Franchise for your family.
Evaluate Your Family's Needs and Goals
Before you make the decision to buy a kids fitness franchise, it is important to take the time to evaluate your family’s needs and goals. Think about why you are considering purchasing a franchise. Are you looking to provide extra income? Are you looking to make a career change? Are you looking to make a long-term investment? All of these questions should be answered before you can decide whether or not a kids fitness franchise is right for you and your family. Once you have taken the time to evaluate your goals, you can then move on to researching the different types of franchises available.
Research the Different Types of Kids Fitness Franchises
Once you have evaluated your family’s goals and needs, it is time to start researching the different types of kids fitness franchises. There are a variety of different franchises to choose from, including gyms, multi-sport facilities, dance studios, martial arts schools, and more. Each of these types of franchises come with their own benefits and drawbacks, so it is important to take the time to research each option carefully. Consider what fits best with your family’s needs and goals, and make sure you understand the specific requirements for each type of franchise.
Consider the Financial Requirements of Owning a Franchise
Owning a franchise can be a great way to make a living, but it can also be a significant financial commitment. Before you make the decision to purchase a kids fitness franchise, it is important to understand the financial requirements. This includes understanding the cost of the franchise, the amount of capital you need to invest, the expected return on investment, and the potential risks. Make sure to do your research and understand the financial requirements before making a commitment.
Review the Franchise’s History and Reputation
When researching a kids fitness franchise, it is important to review the franchise’s history and reputation. Look at how long the franchise has been in business, and research any customer reviews or ratings. Read about the experiences of other franchisees, and ask any questions you may have. Doing your research and understanding the franchise’s history and reputation can help ensure that you make the right decision for your family.
Examine the Training and Support Offered by the Franchise
When considering a kids fitness franchise, it is important to understand the training and support offered by the franchisor. Ask questions about the training and support provided, and make sure you understand the expectations of the franchise. Find out what type of training is provided, how often it is offered, and what type of help is available if you have questions or need assistance.
Ask About the Franchise’s Marketing Strategies
Marketing is an essential part of running a successful kids fitness franchise. Ask the franchisor about their marketing strategies and how they plan to help you reach your goals. Find out what type of marketing materials are available, whether they provide online services, and what type of advertising is included in the franchise package.
Take Time to Make the Right Decision for Your Family
Buying a kids fitness franchise is a big decision, and it is important to take the time to make the right decision for your family. Do your research, ask questions, and take the time to evaluate your goals. Investing in a franchise can be a great way to make a living, but make sure you understand the financial requirements and the expectations of the franchise before you make a commitment.
Conclusion
Choosing the right kids fitness franchise for your family can be a difficult decision. It is important to understand the goals of your family, the type of program you would like to have, and the amount of money you are willing to invest. By researching the different franchises available, considering the different activities offered, and talking to other families who have used similar services, you can make an informed decision about which kids fitness franchise is the best fit for your family.

Normal world AU where the different buildings are just random groups of people and all of them ended up moving to the small village near the supposedly ‘haunted’ mountain that Samon and Enki grew up on bc property values are low as shit, and all of the minors are adopted by the guards. Qi has basically just grabbed Upa and Liang and ran the hell away from the Chinese mafia. Samon sees this random man dragging two half-dead children with him and this is now the very first time any of the new residents of the village find out the ‘hauntings’ that lowered property values were just a teenage Enki post massive growth spurt and a very small and over-energetic Samon that haven’t been seen in well over a decade.
- Hajime has, unfortunately, agreed to look after Jyugo and Nico while Rock and Uno try to find legal jobs, but it’s a lot on him. He and Seitarou help Uno and Rock fight a case to get custody of the two minors. Yamato is helping Tsukumo get a restraining order against his former agent and various paparazzi, as well as going to therapy so he doesn’t constantly feel the need to put on a persona in front of others. Hajime is a teacher at the local school (since there’s a decent number of local kids and then the building children), Yamato is the school’s coach, and Seitarou sells uniforms/cute festival stuff but is also occasionally seen working with the age 7 and below kids because they’re all very small and nice.
- Kiji is trying to cure Honey of his anger management issues and Trois of his pyromaniac tendencies. His day job is making and testing makeup that everyone buys, like mascara and eyeliner and hair gel. His second in command is working in one of the other small shops, selling everyone clothes (he and Seitarou make the clothing together).
- Kenshirou is only here because some of his dogs are sick and this village has been weirdly good for their health. Along the way he lets Musashi and Hitoshi stay with him because they help on chores and the dogs love both of them very much. He helps with the local stray problem by opening a shelter and rehabilitating most of them (the few who can’t be fixed to near-perfect health are still loved and cared for). Hitoshi bakes lots of food and sells it at Shiro’s restaurant, which is also why his presence is appreciated. Musashi tutors online part-time after Mitsuru rigged up wifi for them. Between all three of their jobs they can afford a place that’s small but has four tiny rooms so each person can a private space. (They sleep in the living room that’s been transformed into the group bedroom).
- Mitsuru is considered the local nuisance in so many ways, but after all of his loudspeakers and amplifiers have been confiscated he’s forced to resort back to regular hand-made instruments, so he at least gets to learn something entertaining as he irritates everyone with his noise-making. He and Momoko live in the same house but there’s a line drawn on the inside and outside that splits the house in half so everyone realizes in all of ten seconds they’re not actually together together, just saving on rent as long-term friends. Momoko works on managing the more official stuff to keep the town from being erased. She’s the unofficial (until the next election of course) mayor of the town at this point. Mitsuru’s day job is rigging up stuff like wifi and helping Hajime with his shop class at the high school.
- Shiro moved here after hearing how wonderful the cuisine is. He approves of being able to gather fresh ingredients on the mountain. Rock is frequently seen at his restaurant, both as a customer and as a worker. Hitoshi was recruited within a week. (Hajime has some mixed feelings but Rock mostly stops acting like an idiot after the first day, so it works out well)
- Inori and Ruka moved here years ago (and dragged the Daisen brothers with them) and are pretty much the only residents who were here before everyone started moving out and the buildings moved in. They’re the only ones initially who know the story behind the hauntings and never shared it out of indifference. Inori works in construction of new buildings/clearing rubble from the old, the Daisen trio help train the different sports teams at the school, and Ruka technically co-owns the makeup business with Kiji but his preferred job is as an unofficial swimming instructor because the two of them don’t get along.
- Samon and Enki bring the village supplies and materials from the mountain and trade this way. Samon has a notable weakness for ice pops, popsicles, and zakuro shaved ice, which he gets to surprise Enki on days it seems like he might want it. The new residents are all pleasantly surprised by how sweet Noriko is. Shiro offers her a job after trying some of her desserts. She bakes on weekends and holidays only to avoid overexerting herself, but the rest of the time her jobs include checking people in, taking orders to Shiro and Rock, and keeping peace if someone starts arguments. Houzuki is the area acupuncture specialist and medic until the Otogi family moves in, but he switches to full time acupuncture and massage therapy after they take up the practice. (they’re better than him at medicine anyways and he’s ok with admitting it).
- Liang and Upa love training on the mountain. Rock joins them frequently, often chatting with Liang as they race up. Qi is marginally less interested in physical activity, but he’s willing to make the hike up with them because of the amazing plant both during the hike and at the arrival itself. In the long run, doing some exercise in this form helps him with his mental health a lot and makes him happier. Tsukumo joins occasionally and talking to Qi helps him gradually come out of his shell.
- Trois takes to the challenge of trying to be constructive in building things instead of weapons and explosives. The downside is he frequently teams up with Mitsuru (who has the most equipment necessary) and therefore there are unique ways of getting around the idea of non-destructive inventions. Honey figures out ways to get Mitsuru his speakers back on the condition that he can use the wiring for his capsules.
- Nico ends up really sad about the lack of wifi so he tries to work with Mitsuru to improve tech, but he’s got a hard time reading the manuals so now Musashi, accompanied by either Uno or Trois depending on the day, can be seen teaching Nico how to read instruction manuals.
- Yamato is still very proud of his Japanese heritage, but he also frequently encourages others to appreciate the culture they live in and the culture they came from. Thanks to him, there’s a small festival hosted each year where everyone brings something like food or games or clothing from their culture and share it with everyone.
- Kiji takes it as a personal challenge to help teach normal world culture to at least one of the Gokuu brothers. Enki is far less willing to go along with the idea that he needs help from someone, so it’s Samon. Inori, who had a similar idea for the last eleven years, is currently trying to teach Samon how to drive. It’s yielding mixed results, but he takes really well to motorbikes. Hajme and Samon have a brief ceasefire whenever the subject of motorcycles comes up.
- No one is allowed to bring up the time that Hajime got lost in the mountain. No  one.
- Kuu comes and goes as he pleases. Mostly he stays at Hajime’s house but sometimes he’ll somehow appear wherever Samon Enki and Noriko are presently staying and lies down in the lap of whoever is trying to meditate. Enki tries to ignore Kuu (and fails), Samon will give him small scritches and complain about Hajime in a quiet tone, and Noriko feeds and pets him.
- In their spare time, many of the adults critique the prison systems they rescued the others from. Kiji, Hajime, and Kenshirou work with Enki to fix things on a bureactraic level, frequently accompanied by Momoko when she isn’t a sole representative in front of various international governments. Hajime knows the prison model perfectly, Kenshirou understands the police aspect that ties into it, and Kiji has several decades of experience serving as a prison guard, and their combined knowledge leads to many of their proposals being pushed pretty far up the ranks.
- Samon is working on fixing prisons on the level of how each inmate is treated. All the official and formal changes in the world don’t change that there’s also issues with inmates not receiving care, sufficient entertainment, decent things for purchase and not just whether or not they can afford them, all sorts of stuff that slips past the cracks in the paperwork. He’s also the one who’s pushing for  more rehabilitation programs with Kiji and Mitsuru’s help. Between Samon’s knowledge of physical needs of people, Kiji’s balanced addition of general knowledge of what kind of education and paperwork prisoners need for proper rehabilitation to stick, and Mitsuru’s experience in communication, they have a very solid structure. Mitsuru’s ability to middleman and talk to Momoko also helps push their ideas forward.
- Slowly the buildings become more friendly towards one another. Upa smiles more because Nico helped him get out of his shell, there is a photo of Tsukumo laughing as himself for the first time hanging on the wall of Shiro’s restaurant, and Kenshirou’s dogs all adopted different humans to befriend and bond with. Qi gradually gets over his fear of dogs thanks to Musashi and ends up adopting one who works as a service dog for him and keeps him away from panic attacks and self-harming attempts, as well as (gradually) learning how to tell what kind of health Upa and Liang are presently in and alerting the doctor if necessary.
- The time-honored tradition of feuds between the different non-inmates and adults in charge of them continues, but they added in some new competitions. There are now options for multi-building tug-of-war, kids vs adults (and variations) relays, one v one competitions, and general tomfuckery. Most of the time Momoko is the referee, Mitsuru commentates, and although they rarely join in, they tend to tag-team and secure a near-effortless victory. If it’s every person for themselves, Momoko wins unless distracted by Hajime, at which point the rule of funny is frequently used to determine a victor.

the batkids and college
~this fic assumes a world where all of the kids attended some sort of college~
DICK GRAYSON
Lives in a triple with two other guys he met online
Their room has a blue theme and is littered with Batman and Robin nicknacks
He keeps the room pretty tidy for the sake of his roommates
Sends written letters back and forth to Alfred every week
Turned down an offer from the gymnastics coach who saw him messing around on a slack-line around campus
Insists on paying a portion of his tuition rather than rely all on Bruce’s trust fund for him
Has a summer job as a camp counselor
Works on campus at the university coffee shop
Is a radio personality on the campus station
BARBARA GORDON
Literally had her pick of Ivy Leagues, but decided on a smaller university in the Gotham Area
(still an amazingly academic school)
Created a club for disabled students to socialize and advocate for the community
They led to the installation of two more entrance ramps and specialty elevators around campus and are still going strong
Gets her homework done while multi-tasking as Oracle
Continuously shows up men in the computer science field who doubt her abilities
Her dad will often show up at of the blue to her dorm room for lunch
(she’ll act annoyed but she really loves catching up with him)
JASON TODD
Got a full-ride to a Gotham University based on his entrance essays alone
Is involved in a plethora of service and social justice clubs
Lives in a single but will leave the door open and talk to anyone who walks by
Teaches defense classes for all ages as a side-gig
Sneaks a dog into his dorm and never gets caught
Started out mostly keeping to himself, but as he started opening up he quickly gained a large group of friends
Is an English/Literature major
CASS CAIN
She is very academically inclined, but is not fully comfortable living on campus just yet
She lives in the manor and commutes to her classes
She is majoring in ASL and volunteers as a teacher’s aid at the Gotham School for the Deaf
Sits in the front row for every class and gets to know her professors well
Is either wearing a baggy sweatsuit or designer outfits, there’s no in between
but she’s always a style icon
Once kicked a guy’s ass for following a girl back to her dorm after a party
Becomes infamous on campus
TIM DRAKE
This boy is perpetually 17, but in this universe he finally makes it out of high school (and boy is he happy about that)
Chooses a college outside of Gotham, but still close enough to run back in case they need Red Robin
Skateboards to classes
A style icon, but kinda in the opposite way of Cass
Think his cutoff tees with long sleeve shirts underneath, neon shorts, borrowing from Kon’s closet, etc.
Didn’t know there was summer reading but still aces the quiz
Is undecided for the first two years
DUKE THOMAS
Attends the same college as Babs
She gives him a whole speech about the best places to eat, where to hang out, which professors to requests, etc.
He uses this information and his outgoing personality to become literally the most well known man on campus
A staple at any of his school’s sports games
Leader of the fan section at basketball games (wears face paint and distracts the other team during foul shots)
Bruce attends every “parent’s weekend” that his school has, and Duke takes him for an in depth tour every time
“And here we have the library where I once got kicked out for forgetting to plug my headphones in and accidentally blasting Lizzo and- hey! my best friend threw up in that trash can one night!”
Global Relations major with a minor in Human Rights
STEPHANIE BROWN
Takes a gap year
Travels around with the Peace Corp, branches out as Spoiler, and mostly tries to find her calling
Ends up with like a triple major, a minor, and a few certificates in varying subjects
Considers joining a sorority for like .2 seconds at the club fair
Starts writing an advice column for the school newspaper instead
Her column takes off and soon she has too many questions to answer.
(she starts a blog to give more advice to students)
Her dorm room is plastered in purple
DAMIAN WAYNE
Honestly, he wasn’t so sold on the idea of college when the time came around
He thought he was educated enough and wanted to focus solely on eventually taking up the Batman mantle
Dick eventually coaxed him into trying it out for at least a semester in order to give him a more balanced life
And this was the best thing ever to happen to Damian
He was standoffish to his roommate at first, but the other boy started not to take “no” for an answer
He dragged Dami to ice cream, club fairs, floor game nights
And eventually, Damian started admitting to himself that he enjoyed having a social aspect to his life
Founded a program where students can train service dogs on campus
Batman can wait another four years. Because right now, the former Robin is finally just Damian.
Whooo I’m leaving for college in two days! Just a heads up that I may be a little slower on posting/getting through asks this upcoming week because of orientation and starting classes and such. But I’m totally not giving up on this blog in the slightest!
Keep sending in those asks; I love to hear them! I’m slowly working through some older AU asks :)
Commissions are open for pieces of writing customized for you! Check out this post!
what are your college headcanons? are you excited for the new school year?

The Importance of Fitness Lessons for Kids in NYC
In today’s fast-paced world, promoting physical activity among children has never been more crucial, especially in bustling urban environments like New York City. With the rise of screen time and sedentary lifestyles, fitness lessons for kids in NYC are an excellent way to instill healthy habits early on. This blog explores the benefits of fitness lessons, various options available in the city, and tips for encouraging kids to stay active.
Tumblr media
 Potential Benefits of Fitness Lessons
Physical Health
Engaging in regular physical activity helps children develop strong muscles and bones, improve cardiovascular fitness, and maintain a healthy weight. Fitness lessons for kids in NYC introduce them to various forms of exercise, making it easier to find activities they enjoy. In a city where outdoor space may be limited, structured lessons provide an excellent way for kids to stay active.
 Social Skills
Fitness lessons often take place in group settings, which can help children develop important social skills. They learn how to work as a team, communicate effectively, and build friendships with their peers. These interactions contribute to emotional development and help children build confidence, which can extend beyond physical activities into other areas of their lives.
 Mental Well-Being
Physical activity is not just beneficial for the body; it also plays a significant role in mental health. Fitness lessons provide a constructive outlet for kids to manage stress and boost their overall mood. This is especially important in a fast-paced environment like NYC, where the pressures of school and life can weigh heavily on young minds.
Popular Fitness Programs for Kids in NYC
 Dance Classes
Dance classes are an exciting way for kids to stay active while expressing themselves creatively. NYC is home to a wide range of dance schools offering lessons in styles such as ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary. Dance not only improves coordination and flexibility but also allows children to enjoy movement in a fun and engaging way.
 Martial Arts
Martial arts programs, including karate, taekwondo, and judo, are increasingly popular among children in NYC. These classes teach discipline, respect, and self-control while providing a vigorous workout. Kids learn valuable self-defense skills and develop confidence as they progress through the ranks.
 Sports Clinics and Camps
Many organizations in NYC offer sports clinics and summer camps focusing on various activities like soccer, basketball, and swimming. These programs cater to different skill levels, ensuring that every child can participate and grow in their abilities. They also emphasize teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship, essential values for young athletes.
 Yoga and Mindfulness
Yoga classes designed for kids are gaining popularity in NYC. These lessons not only promote physical fitness but also teach mindfulness and relaxation techniques. Children learn to focus on their breath and develop body awareness, which can help reduce anxiety and improve concentration.
Tips for Encouraging Kids to Stay Vibrant
 Make It Fun
When it comes to fitness classes for kids in NYC, enjoyment is key. Encourage your child to try various activities to discover what they love. Whether it’s a dance class, a sport, or martial arts, the more fun they have, the more likely they will want to participate regularly.
 Set an Example
Kids often emulate their parents’ behaviors. Make physical activity a family affair by incorporating fitness into your routine. Go for bike rides, take walks in the park, or play sports together. Demonstrating an active lifestyle will inspire your child to follow suit.
 Create a Schedule
Establishing a regular schedule for fitness lessons can help your child develop a routine. Consistency is important, as it reinforces the importance of physical activity in their daily lives. Include a mix of structured lessons and free play to keep things balanced and enjoyable.
 Celebrate Achievements
Recognize and celebrate your child’s accomplishments in their fitness journey, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost their confidence and motivate them to continue pursuing physical activities.
 Conclusion
Fitness lessons for kids in NYC provide invaluable opportunities for physical health, social interaction, and mental well-being. With a plethora of options available, from dance and martial arts to sports clinics and yoga, there’s something for every child to enjoy. By encouraging an active lifestyle and making fitness fun, parents can help instill healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Hi there, fellow leftypol dirtbag. Might I ask, what was your journey into leftism?
I grew up in a conservative household. My parents were (and still are I suppose) two Reaganite Republicans and I absorbed all that shit as a child. I supported George Bush 2 and Iraq War 2. I believed all that bullshit about hard work and boot straps, you know, the old fantasy about employers rewarding hard work with commensurate compensation, etc. I wasn’t very sympathetic for black people, the poor, queers, or any of the other people on the Rep’s shit list.
That began to change when I changed high schools. Instead of the upper-middle class, mostly White school I had been going to (and been miserable at), I transferred to an early college. It was a school for kids that, like me, didn’t fit into the regular school system for one reason or another. There were kids there like me who had various social or emotional dysfunctions, but also kids that were there because of who and where they were. It might shock you to find that queer kids and black kids didn’t have the easiest of times in the public school system of the Southern United States.
It was a slow transition, but my views changed. At first I had those idiotic, bigoted views, like that gay guys were a threat to me physically or sexually on account of their orientation. I thought it was morally wrong, blah blah blah, all that ridiculous rigamarole. Then I met some of these people and learned how foolish that kind of thinking was. These people were intelligent and kind, inventive, interesting, and not at all the kind of people that I felt I needed to be worried about. It wasn’t an immediate transformation, but it was the first step in my “deprogramming.”
Looking back, I’m not even sure I would describe my feelings towards these people as “hate” or “fear” so much as “resentment.” I was still trapped in the false mindset of the “just world” fallacy. I was miserable with myself and my place in life, and deluded into thinking that if there was a problem then it was either inherent in myself or because I wasn’t behaving in the right way. At the time I had at least some idea of the oppression and persecution homosexuals and Blacks (for example) experienced. I was starving myself with self restraint, and spiritually mutilating myself in trying to “fix” what I thought was wrong with me. If I was unhappy or unsuccessful or whatever, then it must have been my fault, and if that was the case then it was on me to change myself, “correct” my behavior, and get right with God (literally and in a manner of speaking). Applying that same logic, the problems Blacks and Gays were experiencing were their fault as well, for insisting on being Gay, “out and proud,” or “actin’ Black,” or whatever, instead of how they “should” have been acting. It felt like an insult. Here I was, drowning in my own suffering and misery, and trying like hell to purge whatever defect I imagined was the source. There they were, embracing what I imagined to be the source of their own oppression, and treating the world like it was what needed to change. At the time, there was no way I could comprehend all of this. Even if I could have understood it intellectually, I doubt I would have been able to see it through my ideological delusions.
My ideological development after high school was halting at best. I wasn’t in any shape to live and function on my own, and my first stab at university didn’t go very well. Eventually, I moved back home and got a job, which is what had the most significant effect on me I think. All the nonsense I’d been fed about the fairness of competition and workplace ideals quickly went out the fucking window. I had worked some while I was at university, when I naively thought that student employment at a school would emphasize the student over the employment part. Through the alchemy of Republican logic, it wasn’t the work or employer that was to blame, but the fact that the school effectively had a monopoly. If the Free Market™ was able to decide, no doubt I’d have had a fairer boss and better pay and so on.
But that job wasn’t an anomaly, and neither was the next one, or the next. I had been brought up being taught that hard, honest work would be rewarded with good, honest pay, but no matter how hard I worked or where, it was always the same shit: minimum wage, %2 pay raise, shitty schedules, worse managers, awful bosses, and customers that were just the worst. You didn’t matter. It didn’t matter how you were being treated or mistreated, the customer was your master and you better remember to smile while you’re licking their balls.
Still, even with all of this, I bought the lie that it was just the type of work that was the problem. Retail work is for kids, right? They aren’t serious jobs. I saved up some money while taking CC classes, and eventually went back to university. The second time things went better. Somewhere along the way I’d graduated from Republican to Libertarian™, but that was starting to lose its appeal as well as it became apparent that it was functioning on the same defective logic as its Republican counterpart. I didn’t have any faith in Obama or the Democrats, and being an ignorant American I thought the three were my only options.
My family was what would be described in American terms as “mid-to-lower-middle class,” or you could probably say “comfortable.” Both parents worked, and while we were never “rich” I don’t recall ever having to go without anything essential. My parents were both Baby Boomers, and their parents all more or less came from nothing. To their credit, my parents worked hard to provide the things for me which they didn’t have as children themselves. They did everything they could to help me succeed, but they could still only help.
Paying for school was something that fell mostly on me in the form of loans and grants. Classes were going well for the most part, but my expenses were outstripping my aid. I got a job, but it didn’t help matters much. The pay was lousy, and the hours were from six at night until two in the morning. It started killing my grades and ruining my health. The stress of school and work and financial concerns started to get to me physically.
All while this is going on is the backdrop of the financial crisis. The banks that were responsible got billions of dollars of taxpayer money, while those same taxpayers were getting foreclosed on by those same banks. State services were getting slashed to the bone left, right, and center. There was suddenly no money for unemployment insurance or health benefits for those that needed them, no money for teacher training, or grants for students. There was apparently virtually unlimited cash for the military and the two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that dragged on and on. There was plenty to go around to these wealthy executives that created this financial crisis that lost regular people hundreds of millions of dollars in their life savings and retirement plans. This paralleled the situation at my school. The university was flush with cash. Tuition was higher than ever. They had just finished a multi-million dollar building that served no purpose other than to serve as a fancy amenity to lure in out of state students. They’d even invested millions of dollars into their football program and completely renovated the athletic stadium. The chancellor lived in a mansion on campus and drove a convertible sports car. They weren’t hurting for money.
I was, though. I came to the conclusion that I’d have to take classes in the morning and work in the afternoon, and so I went about withdrawing to make space in my schedule for it. Come to find however that you’re only allowed to drop three courses in your educational career, which no one had bothered to tell me. I was able to drop one class, but I had ignorantly spent my other two mulligans the previous semester. No problem, the Registrar tells me, just get your professor, chair, and dean to sign off and you can drop the class. Okay, swell. Professor signs off, department chair signs off, and then it takes a week for the dean to get back to me. Financial hardship isn’t a compelling reason to drop the class. Sorry! I try to explain to her my situation, that if I can’t start making money then I’ll be out on the street, and she tells me to go pound sand. I’d busted my ass working to “get my life back on track,” to go back to school, get an education and all that, like I was “supposed to.” The school didn’t give a shit. I was nothing to them. They had no interest in helping me out or seeing me stay. And why would they? Sixty percent of incoming Freshmen left after their first year, and that was their target demographic. Entice out-of-state students, get them to dump a bunch of money into the school, then kick them to the curb when they can’t for one reason or another hack it. There’s more and more desperate kids every year trying to get that diploma and the golden ticket it promises them. If they don’t like being farmed for revenue, then fuck ‘em.
It was around this time that I got involved with Occupy Wall Street. It was there that I met for the first time actual Communists, and was introduced however superficially to Marxism and Anarchism. It wouldn’t be until afterward that I would get my real education on them, though. I guess I kind of conform to the cliche of becoming a college Communist. A professor of mine knew about my difficulties and my developing political views, and asked if I’d be interested in borrowing his copy of the Manifesto. I did, not knowing what to expect. Then I read the words that changed my life forever:
“The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggle.”
It struck me like a bolt out of the blue. I’d always been interested in history, but I treated it as just a long, interesting story. It had always puzzled me because there were innumerable instances of illogical or just plain stupid behavior in the people we studied in school. Things just happened the way they happened, because... well, that’s just how things were, or people are. Every war, injustice, and atrocity in history was because of faulty human nature. People struggle because of the inherent evil inside all men. You know, more ideological bullshit.
Suddenly, though, everything made sense. It was like all the pieces had been in place, but it wasn’t until that bit of context was added that it made anything like coherent sense. It wasn’t only history, but modern politics, too. I couldn’t understand what made Republicans do the objectively awful things that they were doing, or why, or the apparent idiocy of the Democrats, and why they couldn’t seem to do anything right however obvious it might have appeared to do so. Marx shined a light on everything for me. It was like the world suddenly shifted into focus.
After this, for various reasons I left school again, ended up moving back home and getting another job. During this time the political awakening I’d experienced lay dormant for quite a while as I dealt with other developments in my life. Actually, it was Gamergate that was the impetus to get deeper into Leftism. I was still frequently visiting 4chan at the time and watched as the drama developed. I didn’t like Moot banning the topic of Zoe Quinn etc, and ended up migrating to 8chan, which briefly exhibited a sort of Renaissance of the sort of board culture that had either been dead or dying on 4chan at the time. It didn’t take long for the nazis, racists, and other brands of /pol/cuck shithead to drive off anyone decent though, and every board just became a different flavor of /pol/. Complaining about it naturally elicited a chorus of “go back to /leftypol/.” I didn’t have any interest in /leftypol/ at the time and actually mostly avoided it. Online politics at the best of times is hardly enjoyable, and I wasn’t very interested in any kind of /Xpol/, using my impression of the original as a guide.
I had dabbled somewhat in online Leftism previously, exploring labor-related subs on Reddit, like r/iww, r/socialism, r/communism, etc. My experience with r/soc almost turned me entirely off of Leftism, though. I got banned for calling Hillary Clinton a cunt, which only seemed to confirm that SJW/Demcuck reputation that followed other self described “socialists.” I didn’t want any part of a group that would either defend Hillary, or try and control what I said or how I said it. I’d just about written off Socialism entirely when on a whim I decided to take a look at /leftypol/ just to see what all the fuss was about.
I can’t help but feel kind of silly attributing such a major, life-changing moment to going to an obscure image board on such a skeevy site, but it did. It had the rough-and-tumble atmosphere of 4chan in its day as well as a substantial number of posters that knew what the fuck they were about. For a while I was simply hooked. Every time I f5ed, I learned something new about Socialism and Communism. There were in depth discussions on Communist theory and its various theorists and proponents. Not only where there mainstream anarchists and marxists, but representatives of (or simply people knowledgeable of) different currents, traditions, and theories. Posters busied themselves making reading lists and sharing links to resources and ideas. Back when there was still a solid core of /lit/ refugees and philosophy majors, there were constantly discussions on Zizek and Chomsky, Stirner and Nietzsche, Proudhon and Marx, Lukacs, Baudrillard, Gramsci, Bordiga, and on and on. The notion that “socialist” just meant “hardcore Democrat” was instantly and totally obliterated, and I knew that I was a Socialist and would be until I died.
And here I am, still trying to learn and educate myself, and help others with what I’ve learned, for whatever it’s worth.

Sold as a pack of three, these stress balls come with happy quotes written on them to help shift your thoughts from stress to positivity. Made from polyurethane foam and available in four different color options, this is a durable and anxiety relieving option.
Best Color: Power Your Fun Arrgh Rainbow Giant Stress Ball
The gentle ombre of rainbow colors and larger size make this stress toy a good option for extra frustrating days. Whether you need to vent, let out aggression, or keep both hands busy at once (it's 5-inch diameter is big enough to keep both hands occupied), this is a great option.
Best Multi-Pack: Neliblu 24 Stress Balls Bulk Pack

Giving a child options will make them more likely to actually use helpful tools and feel the positive effects.
Best Scent: Lavender Luvies Scented Stress Balls 3-Pack
Smells can have a direct effect on mood. Research shows that lavender has the most calming influence over brain waves and neurotransmitters. These stress balls are certified fair trade and filled with lavender flowers. They can be smelled, squeezed, and even tossed around in the air due to their lightweight and soft texture.
Best for Small Hands: MindPanda Empowering Gel Stress Ball Bundle
Mind Panda stress balls come in multiple sizes, are scented, and includes a hand strengthening exercise guide. The multiple size options allow the customer to choose which fit feels the most comfortable and soothing. Use this option for focused strength training or for mindless fidgeting to help fight boredom or anxiety during long meetings or work assignments.
Best for Strengthening Hands: The Friendly Swede Hand Grip Strength Trainer
The unique egg shape of this stress toy is designed specifically for strength training exercises and the relief of hand and joint pain. There are various color options to choose from as well as options ranging from 20 to 40 pounds of resistance. Best Variety Pack: Phimota Sensory Toys 28-Pack
The need for a particular type of stress ball or fidget toy can often depend on our mood at the time, especially for kids. With 28 different toys ranging from stress balls to puzzle boxes in this variety pack, kids or adults have more than enough options to choose from. This is a great option for classroom settings or homes where multiple kids are trying to get homework done at the same time.
Best Novelty: Etsy Mini Crotchet Octopus Stress Ball
A tiny, squeezable, smiling baby octopus is sure to make your day. Sold individually, they come in a variety of colors and can be used in a group, or separately. These stress toys feature a fiberfill core and are covered in crochet yarn to make them extra soft.
What to Look For in a Stress Ball
Quality of Materials:
It is important to make sure a stress ball is made of durable materials to ensure lasting tension and resistance. A stress ball is not beneficial if it goes flat or becomes too soft. The materials should feel comfortable and soothing rather than sticky or slippery.
Resistance:
A good stress ball should fight back a bit. Strengthening hand, finger, and wrist muscles is what helps relieve joint pain from carpal tunnel, medical procedures, and arthritis. A stress ball made for strength training will have the weight resistance listed and exercise instructions included.
Multiple Sensory Features:
If anxiety management is the primary goal, then a stress ball with multiple sensory features like scent, colors, or written expressions, will help calm the brain and nervous system faster and more effectively than the resistance alone.

Unlocking Potential: The Benefits of Private Sports Lessons for Kids
In an increasingly competitive world, parents are constantly seeking ways to give their children a head start in various areas, including sports. Private sports lessons for kids have gained popularity as a means to enhance athletic skills, build confidence, and foster a love for physical activity. This article delves into the key benefits of private sports lessons and how they can positively impact your child’s development.
Tumblr media
 Personalized Attention and Tailored Instruction
One of the most significant advantages of private sports lessons for kids is the personalized attention that each child receives. Unlike group classes, where a coach’s focus is divided among many students, private lessons allow instructors to tailor their teaching methods to suit the individual needs and learning styles of each child.
 Individualized Skill Development
In a private lesson setting, coaches can identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses more effectively. This individualized approach enables the instructor to create a customized training plan that targets specific skills, whether it’s improving technique, enhancing coordination, or developing strategic thinking. As a result, children can progress at their own pace, making steady improvements and achieving personal goals.
 Boosting Confidence and Self-Esteem
Participating in private sports lessons can significantly boost a child’s confidence and self-esteem. As they develop their skills and witness their progress firsthand, children often feel a sense of accomplishment.
 Overcoming Challenges
In a supportive environment, children are encouraged to push their limits and overcome challenges. The focused instruction helps them navigate setbacks and develop resilience—an essential life skill. The positive reinforcement from coaches also contributes to a child’s belief in their abilities, motivating them to take on new challenges in sports and other areas of life.
 Flexibility and Convenience
Private sports lessons for kids offer a level of flexibility that can be hard to find in traditional team sports or group classes. Parents can often choose the schedule that best fits their family’s needs, whether it’s weekday afternoons or weekend mornings.
 Customizable Training Sessions
Moreover, lessons can be adjusted based on the child’s specific interests and goals. Whether your child is interested in soccer, basketball, tennis, or swimming, private lessons can be designed to align with their passions, keeping them engaged and motivated.
 Enhancing Social Skills and Teamwork
While private lessons are often one-on-one, they can still contribute to the development of essential social skills. Many instructors emphasize the importance of communication and collaboration, helping children learn how to work effectively with others, even if they are not in a traditional team setting.
 Building Relationships
Additionally, private lessons can create opportunities for children to build relationships with coaches and peers. These connections can lead to lasting friendships, especially if the child decides to join team sports in the future. Engaging with a coach who acts as a mentor can also provide valuable life lessons outside of sports.
 Health and Fitness Benefits
In today’s digital age, encouraging children to participate in physical activities is more important than ever. Private sports lessons promote a healthy lifestyle by instilling the values of fitness and exercise from an early age.
 Physical Development
Regular engagement in sports enhances physical development, including strength, coordination, flexibility, and endurance. These lessons also serve as a fun way for kids to stay active, helping to combat childhood obesity and promote overall well-being.
 Lifelong Fitness Habits
Moreover, the skills and habits learned during private sports lessons can lead to a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Children who are introduced to sports in a positive environment are more likely to continue participating in various activities throughout their lives, promoting a healthy lifestyle as they grow.
 Conclusion
Private sports lessons for kids offer a wealth of benefits that go far beyond skill development. From personalized instruction and confidence-building to flexibility and health advantages, these lessons provide a holistic approach to nurturing young athletes. As parents, investing in private sports lessons can help your child unlock their full potential, instill a love for physical activity, and equip them with essential life skills that will serve them well into adulthood. By fostering a supportive and engaging environment, you’re not only enhancing their athletic abilities but also contributing to their overall growth and development.

Six Stars Quarantine - Ch. 2 - Rewind: How It Came to Be
Everything had started with the cousins.
Everything always starts with the cousins, the others would say.
Basically it’s the background on which the idea – and the first chapter – was built upon. I’m not sure how it well flows because they were originally bullet points notes about who was doing what and their history together.
You can read it (and the first chapter) on ao3.
                                    —————————————
In normal times Anna is the one who lives at the Palace the most. While her job as tv commentator – after an injury interrupted a successful sport career – has her going on occasional trips for big international competitions, she is mostly based in the city…and she doesn’t even have to commute there every day.
The second most permanent dweller is Cathy. Nobody becomes a writer to get rich, but she is successful enough that a full-time job is not necessary anymore and she has a flexible, writing-friendly job where she can pretty much pick and choose how much she works and when, getting paid either by the hour or by project. And both her jobs can be done pretty much anywhere, and that is often at home. But she also likes to travel, finding inspiration in new experiences, and when she does, she is usually tagging along with Kat on her trips (she also travels for book promotional tours, but those are not really conducive for any kind of working, writing or otherwise).
Kat alternates periods travelling and periods at home. She is a history communicator. It all started with videos for a school project that became a YouTube channel spurred by her genuine love for history and her annoyance at popular misconceptions about it, both regarding topics (anything to do with talking about the medieval times as ‘Dark Ages’ is a major pet peeve of hers) and history in general, such as it being boring, just about names and dates. Videos with her talking about historical events and figures in a way that was both simple and interesting and factually correct started to gain a loyal audience, and with the years it got bigger and bigger until she landed a tv program. Her life could be described as cyclical. She travels the world doing research, visiting places and talking to experts. Then she returns home to do the writing up. Then she travels again shooting the episodes. Then she is back at home for the final touches, the recordings at the studios, and then the planning and initial research for the new series. And then everything starts all over again.
Then there is Jane. As a world-renowned singer, she is often on tour and promotional gigs. But she had fought to base herself in England rather than in America, so all her ‘downtime’, whether proper relaxing or just working on her next release, is spent at the Palace.
As much as they would have loved to follow Jane’s example, that option had not been as feasible for Catalina and Anne, with Los Angeles, New York or the US in general being the places to be for the film industry. Things are now better since being established and successful in their respective careers as director and actress give them more freedom and choices in events to attend and projects to take. Solid reputations and networks make it so that they are kept in mind even when they are not physically present all the time. And naturally success brings money, which means they don’t need to cram job after job while also chasing side-gigs and survival jobs to pay the bills, they can take time off between projects....or if there is nothing interesting on offer. All in all, after more than a decade of living the majority of the year away, Anne and Catalina are finally at a point in their lives and careers where, whenever they are not on sets or promoting their latest work, they can spend most of that time at home at the Palace.
All things considered, while Anna is never alone in the big house for more than a couple of months consecutively and combinations of the inhabitants vary, it’s quite rare they manage to be all six together, and usually it’s for the holidays and never for longer than a few weeks.
Despite the limited time spent there, everyone considers the Palace their primary residence and they don’t regret their decision to buy a big home all together. Just the comfort of knowing that they can return at any moment and they will always have a place and at least some members of their family waiting for them is well worth it.
And while being together is the main attraction, the Palace itself being awesome doesn’t hurt. They truly built their dream house. Every bedroom, including the guest ones, has an ensuite. Individual studios for everyone as well as some bigger ones that can fit more than one person…or even all of them. Every interest is catered for: library, recording studio, music room, gym, home cinema, game room…you name it, they have it. Two state-of-the-art kitchens (and a small kitchenette for Anne when it just can’t be avoided). Sprawling grounds all around with a swimming pool with a retractable enclosure so they can use it all year round, a multi-purpose sport field, a dining area with a small but fully equipped outdoor kitchen, pizza oven and BBQ grilling station included. They have everything they need or want, whether to work or entertain themselves. Some of them are rich after all – Kat jokingly refers to herself as the poor cousin – and pooling together their resources meant they could pretty much get everything they could think of.
Still, if you had told them when they were living together as students that they would have a custom-made place...
Everything had started with the cousins.
Everything always starts with the cousins, the others would say.
One day Kat had approached Anne, offering the older schoolmate a shy, ‘I think you’re my cousin.’
Her class had been assigned a family tree project, and Kat, already very much into history, had really delved into it, finding out previously unknown connections. Unknow to her, at least. But also to Anne.
The older girl had been surprised, because she had never talked to the kid who was claiming to be her family. Still, why would she lie? Moreover, she knew that her mom supposedly had siblings so that was not completely impossible. And looking at the impressive family tree (she remembers doing hers, way less branches and way less details), the specifics seemed to match. Her mom’s name and her date and place of birth. Same for her grandparents’ and the rest of her immediate family.
Then Kat had pointed out another familiar name. ‘I think Jane Seymour is our second cousin.’
So they approached her, who also recognized that from the great grandmother they apparently shared down to her family line Kat seemed to have correct information.
They agreed to looking into it. Asking their families. Well, Jane and Anne did, as Kat explained that she had already tried to ask, only to be summarily dismissed, told that she already knew her family, why was she bothering them? That’s why she had gone digging on her own. She knew quite well the difference between them just wanting to get rid of her and them not wanting to talk about something.
‘I nosed around. Asked some questions...and it’s true. They had nothing good to say, but they admitted it,’ Anne tells them.
‘Can’t speak for you,’ Jane nods at Kat, ‘but I sort of agree,’ she mutters. Her family is a piece of work. And from Kat’s expression, hers isn’t that much different.
Even if their families don’t interact and downright ignore each other’s existence (even once famous, which was surprising, in a way, but they are too proud and too stubborn and too hateful to ever acknowledge their relations, even if it could be beneficial to them), they grow closer.
Jane and Anne are not much older than Kat, just few years, and for better or for worse, Kat is quite mature for her age – a consequence of her family treatment quite likely – so a strong bond flourishes. Anne and Jane take Kat under their wing, trying to give her all the support and love she isn’t getting elsewhere, as it doesn’t take long for the older girls to realise that Kat is quite neglected by her family. So much that when at 16 she informs them she is moving out, they do not even ask with whom, the reactions to her leaving ranging from indifferent to welcoming, the only recommendation being not to let the family name down.
Kat goes to live with her cousins, who are starting university (Jane) and drama school (Anne). The first accommodation is not the best, since they had little idea of what to look for, or what they wanted.  And that is without taking in account the whirlwind of more or less lazy, noisy, weird or downright creepy housemates.
They are soon looking for a new place and they end up choosing a 6-bedrooms house, which they would later dub the Castle, that is in the perfect location midway between their schools and it is not too expensive. Especially since they decide to rent the whole property and then look for the other tenants themselves, so that they can have a say in who will live with them, after some not-so-nice experiences. They all still have monetary support from the families, but they don’t want to rely on that too much. And they want to save as much as possible...there is a reason the struggling artist is a trope...and it's not like history, which is what Kat would like to study, is a lucrative field.
The first one joining them is Catalina, an older student whom Anne had met in drama school while collaborating on a project.
Then Anna, a promising athlete who had moved to the UK from Germany and met Kat at the exclusive sport club where Anna trains during the off season. Kat’s family might neglect her, but she never lacked anything material because they have always been very keen to maintain a certain image. They barely know where she lives, but they still pay her membership, just like they still pay for her music lessons, despite never showing up at any showcase or concert.
Getting wind of the growing friendship, Anne and Jane insist on meeting Anna, because semi-famous, successful, older athlete befriending a 15-years-old girl is a bit suspicious. Once they realise that Anna’s intentions are genuine and she just found a good friend in Kat....she gets two additional friends. Because by then, the cousins are a package deal.
Once Anna comments how lonely and empty her flat is, and Anne replies that she should try sharing with five other people – well, they are just four at the moment at the house, but she gets what she means – and then talk. And Anna replies she’d love to. Few chats later, a joke becomes a serious proposal and Anna moves in, while also offering to cover the sixth room if they don’t find anyone suitable – she would still pay less than she does for her current flat, and she’d get the company she craves.
The last one to move in is Cathy, a remote acquaintance of Catalina who gets in touch to ask for advice when she moves to the city for a creative writing course. They meet up few times and upon learning she is still looking for a permanent place to stay, Catalina tells her she might have something, but needs to ask. The others agree on a trial period of some months, not wanting to upset the balance they have found if things don’t work out.
But they do and Cathy never leaves the Castle. Not until they all move out once the household splits as Anne and Catalina both move to America, one shortly after the other, chasing opportunities. Which reveals itself to be the right choice, as they slowly start to make a name for themselves and get involved in projects that launch their careers.
Time passes and Jane is getting famous too and with the money she is making she wants to buy a house instead of renting. But at the same time she doesn't want to leave her family. Not after realising how isolating the showbusiness can be and especially with how lonely she feels during her first tour.
As things often go with them, what starts as a crazy idea, just a chat about what their ideal house would look like, it slowly begins to get off the ground. Research is carried out, locations are looked at, lists are made, folders are created.
Kat and Cathy are a bit reluctant. Not because they want to get a place of their own instead of sharing with the others. They had indeed discussed that, but simply because they are currently living with Anna, but she has been getting offers and is likely to move to another city if not to another country. In all honesty, their hesitation is because they are on a whole different financial level compared to the others.
Kat is making some money from her YouTube Channel and with gigs at museums and schools, which is enough to live on, but not much more. Even if she wanted, she would not be able to ask her family for help as they are not in contact anymore, since they cut her off when she decided to pursue a PhD in Public History rather than a more prestigious/useful/lucrative career.
Cathy, whose first novel has been moderately successful, has just signed a new contract and got a book advance for her second one, but there is no guarantee besides that. Her 9-to-5 office job is what pays the bills.
Neither of them has enough money to invest in the type of project the others are talking about. Because of course they would not be happy with just buying a house. They want the perfect home for all of them, which means lots of work to be done, if not building it from scratch altogether.
And then Anna gets injured. Kat and Cathy in particular rally around, since they are there, but Jane, Anne and Catalina return as soon as they can. And it’s cramped, a house for three with a small guest room that is pretty much unofficially Jane’s suddenly having six residents. Kat gives up her room, sharing with Cathy, but still...
And even if they know it won’t last too long since Catalina, Anne and Jane all have stuff lined up, most of it out of the country, it cements their wish to find a place for all of them and convinces Kat and Cathy. Well, Anne and Jane make it clear that Kat would get a room in any house they’d get and wouldn’t be better if she got a say in it rather than get saddled with whatever they decide?
Not convincing enough? It is for Kat, who is self-aware enough to know that if her cousins were to ask her to go and live with them, she would say yes and just accept whatever they had chosen. Kat knows her personal weaknesses, and her cousins do too.
Once Kat is on board, Cathy follows.
