@dreaming-in-seams and her new ✨husbando✨ went to Disney World for the week and they had to leave their custom droid with me. So I set up a Droid Daycare!

Unfortunately, purple BB has a personality chip of pure, concentrated rage. Tensions have risen.

Things have further escalated.

But BB-8 and BD have risen to the challenge.

Okay no more droid daycare for a while.

Still not completely happy with the weathering, but I’m taking a break so it can join the other red&white things being gathered as Xmas decorations this year.

Also currently debating trying to add another red stripe next to the center seam to disguise it a bit better.

This little droid is green in multiple senses of the word ♻!

More details below!

I imagine it functions as a scavanging droid, exploring ruins and find recyclable components as well as sending/receving data on the ruins with its satelite dish. Here it is inspecting a littlle lens it found!

Initially this build was very different. I was trying to make a lanky robot with bins for feet and super long scrawny legs, but when i got to what is now the head but should have been the torso it just clicked "OH FRICK THIS CAN BE A DROID"!!!!

I have no idea if I've posted pics of my SK-colored Lola (I call her Starla, like Starcruiser Lola lol). She's a little scuffed from her first visit to Batuu but that's no big deal.

People really liked her. A stormtrooper told me to keep her under control, and I had a mom or two be like OH MY GOD YOU PAINTED THAT? IT MOVES AND MAKES NOISE??

But the best was a cast member in Dok's who recognized her color scheme. He watched me shop for Kyber crystals before saying "That's a very special color scheme on your droid". I stared up at him silently and said thank you and then he asked, "Did you go on a cruise recently?" AHAHAHA man oh man.

I didn't think her colors would be SO blatant but us Starcruiser people are not normal.

Got the panels lined and the rivets all painted. Not the best job, but I don’t think I have the brush control to do better. Most of the really stretched out ones look rounder? Ish?

Honestly though, if I paint another BB I’ll pick a different body.

Also added an open panel on the head. Printed out a nice little bunch of internals, but forgot to account for the amount of plastic on the inside of the head. Ended up having to do some modification by hand. Also a little messier than I would like but it’s the best it’ll be!

Tiny repaints! Had a few extra R2-D2 doorables figures, so I wanted to make some of my favorite Clone Wars astromechs. Loved the whole Clone Wars arc with the D-squad and QT-KT is a clear favorite. So pink and adorable. But I also wanted to make R4-P17 purely because that’s Obi-Wan’s astromech and Obi-Wan is great.
