i realize this looks finished, but technically i'm still deciding whether to add a background or not lol. still, for the sake of sharing a proper WIP, here's a line or two from an araleyn brainworm WIP that i started reworking yesterday (mild tw for religious guilt and period-typical internalized homophobia from aragon's pov):
She remembers sharing her bed with Anne at Henry's behest, remembers the nights of tossing and turning and trying not to think about Anne asleep next to her-- remembers waking up to dark hair spilling across her pillow and the press of blood-warm bosoms against her own, softer than sin, as hot as the Devil, remembers lying still as death, mouthing prayers into the heat of Anne's neck like an act of penance.

#original post#mtg#aetherdrift#custom magic card#i think aetherdrift would be really cool with more cameo mechanics. give each team some more hometown flavor#and my immediate thought went to the idea of a kylem pilot/vehicle partner pair#(i considered giving one or both cycling to play with the tutor to hand aspect but decided against it)#so i made this pair to go in my aetherdrift booster#that had two problems though#1. it took up two card slots as opposed to just one#and 2. doing a cameo mechanic at common was dubious but i think to make this viable in draft it needs to be common#since you're not gonna get both in one pack always like you do in battlebond#(also i think a partner pair in draft that you're *not* guaranteed to draft together is interesting)

crystal's character arc happened because she had to work with someone who was extremely condescending to keep a low paying job to make rent.
and i guess charles and niko and jenny refusing to take any shit and repaying it with kindness, if not niceness, maybe also had an effect i guess
