on the soulfires of purgatory
against my better judgement i went to twitter but man, someone said "the team formation corresponds to heaven (green), hell (red), and purgatory (blue); blue is the most balanced and therefore must be purged of their 'sin' so everyone can win aka this is more evidence of them being the cursed team" and I lost the tweet in question so i'm regurgitating it here and rambling
plus, like, blue is the most neutrally coded group! green (color of the codes) is predominantly full of anti-fed coded characters while red (the color marking purgatory) has a lot of members with significant ties or history with the federation, with green's outlier being elquackity and red's being q!slime.
weirdly, blue has zero characters under eyeball surveillance (the six shown in the cinematic are evenly split with members from red and green, including the outliers of the two). blue may have aypierre (most-fed coded) and luzu/arin (most code-coded) but everyone else has minimal bias towards either side, with bbh being notably feared and viewed cautiously by both groups. blue is cursed for their neutrality and flexibility, and purgatory is the culmination of every member being forced to pick a side.
green and red are ruthless, and for blue to win is for them to be more ruthless than the ruthless.

Welcome children to the world of enchantment ✨ / OUAT AU
Season two of the mini series ig, inspired by the episode ‘Broken’
Pairings: Nikolai x Mia, Ethan x Liane, Jeremy x Cole
Established Platonic Partners: Joshua & Belladonna
Extra characters mentioned: Alexander, Dr. Hooper, Leroy, Finlay, Rose and etc.
~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~
The curse broke as the mist rushed through the town then began to disappear like it was nothing. As if the blue smoke was never there to begin with. As Amelia opened her eyes, she realized she was still holding her son in her arms despite him being taller than his own mother as her husband curled both of them into his chest for protection against whatever the hell that was.
Joshua looked around staring at the sky before his gaze fell to the woman holding him, his mother, who seemed just as shocked and confused as he was. Last they heard were whispers in the wind as the clamped of footsteps surrounded them. Nikolai was resting his head against his wife’s very own, catching the ball rolling over to them.
“What the hell just happened?” He asked softly getting a weird feeling in his fingertips, as if he lost a little magic touch that soon will return.
“No idea..” Amelia added then looked at her son, “..hi. Y-you found us..”
Joshua nodded with a half smile, the feeling hasn’t hit him yet that he was in his parents arms. Yes, he was glad they were awake and remembered who they were, reconnecting with him. But it still feels foreign to him, he lost almost 18 years with him. His throughts were cut up by Leroy and his pals showing up, talking with one another then speaking to his mother. Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs. His father was grinning and talking about something else he didn’t catch on to.
“Wait hold-pause! If the curse is broken, why haven’t you guys gone back yet?” Joshua asked holding up his hands with a stern expression.
“He really is Charming’s kid.” Leroy muttered pointing with his thumb which earned a glare from Nikolai, “..sorry. He is just asking the real questions.”
Nikolai hummed, “He’s right. And seeing what happened, we need to get everybody involved and safe somewhere. My brother must’ve ran over to his place by now..”
Just then, Dr. Hopper rushed in telling them that people are rushing to kill Alexander at his home. Leroy muttered, “Good. Let’s watch.”
Which earned a glare from his friends that time as the man shrugged proud of his response. Nikolai was ready to defend his brother but a huge part of him wanted to rail him against the road for pain he caused the people of the town as his wife stayed quiet, realizing they had to go. Joshua reminded them that he was still family and heroes don’t just sit there waiting for a murder, as he rushed off to stop the charge. Nikolai led the others to his brother’s house, with a piercing hand ready to take him down and keep his family safe.
Once the group arrived there were half of the town surrounding the house, as nurse Rose and a doctor Finlay were sharping up to murder the man in charge. Liane’s eyes glowed a firey punch as her hands began shaking a purple light grabbed Alex by the collar and Ethan carrying a dagger. Nikolai pushed The Ace of Heart off him and Amelia held back Liane. Belladonna noticed Joshua pushing back the crowd as she yelled into his ear over the loudness of the yard about the situation as he simply nodded.
“You good?” She asked, which only earned around nod from the tall boy, “Why are you not killing him?”
“Because I am not a member of the public here!” He yelled over the crowd of noise at her.
But Belladonna could tell something was up, however she kept quiet.
“Mia! Snow let go of me! The son of a bitch has my wings somewhere!” Yelled Liane trying to releasing herself from the short brunette’s grasp, “Since when did you get stronger?!”
“Since I am just as pissed as you!” She yelled back, an angry look in her eyes that almost seemed to calm the blonde down.
“Let me kill him! He deserves to die for his crimes against humanity…”
“He doesn’t have to die, he didn’t kill you or anyone of us.”
Meanwhile Nik almost punch Ethan with their fuel strength coming back as he shouted, “Let him go! We’re victims but not murders, killing him will turn us, as dark as he is! Is that what you want?!”
Ethan’s glares soften, as his gaze fell onto his beloveds girls then stepped back, “We have a lot to figure out then. He needs to be locked up for all of our safety..and his, or else I will murder him.”
Joshua and Belladonna watched as their parents took charge of the situation. Alexander stood up from the ground as he curled his hand into fist realizing not all of his power has returned yet, only a mere bit was felt in him, but then his gaze fell onto the children.
Both equally difficult yet different expressions washed over their faces, causing Alexander’s smirk to lessen just slightly. Joshua’s eyes locked onto him for a moment, the same way they did when they were alone a couple of days ago, he looked away and faced his brother wondering what he might do next.
——
The cell door was slammed into his face as he smirked. Nikolai told him to knock it off as Ethan walked over to Alexander ready to question his actions. Amelia sat down on the edge of the table facing the cell with a glare, keeping her hand on Liane’s shoulder to keep the blonde calm. Joshua was leaning against a wall quietly as Bella kept looking at Snow and her mother, then faced her friend again. Amelia noticed their faces and decided to let both Charmings chat with the king as she led the other out of the Sheriff Station, telling both men to leave once they’re done and met them at Bruce’s Diner to talk.
As both mother walked with their children, a single death of silence ran down their bodies. It felt creepy. Joshua sighs with his hands in his pockets watching them, feeling odd until his mother broke the silence before he did. Bella felt just as uncomfortable as him.
“Hey. Can we all just talk?” Amelia said with a small smile.
Liane furrow her brows, “Not the best time Snow..I just woke up from the nightmare of a nap..”
“Try being in a coma for 16 years Mal..it’s hard, I know. But look at where we are. My son and niece are here in front of me. Your nephew, none of us got a chance to even talk yet..”
“Snow, honey, it’s a lot I know. I just got my man back and wings are here..I think?”
Bella half smiled and nods, “Hi aunt Amelia..or do I call you Snow?”
“Whichever one you want, Bella. I’m your aunt. ” She said with a small smile before looking at her son, “And you’re my kid. I have not gotten a proper chance with you guys yet. You have gotten weeks for your fathers, I only got two days with you..so can we all just talk?”
Joshua took his hands out of his pockets and sighed, “…I am uh, happy we are all here and the curse is broken, but I only wish it went differently..my whole life I was alone.”
Liane spoke up, “But if we haven’t sent you away, you would’ve been cursed or worse, Josh. I would’ve done the same with Bella..”
“I know that. I do…um, theses last couple of weeks were pretty weird and terrifying to me..and now it just got weirder.”
Bella placed a hand on his back and back her friend up by explaining, “What Joshua meant to say..you guys remember who you are. It’s cool, it’s what we all wanted but now things have changed, we don’t know how you guys will interact now in the real world with your kids..and you all have memory with each other, we don’t..”
That seemed to silence both mothers, looking at one another and then their children. They hate to admit it but Josh and Bella were right.
Things just got weirder.
It’s a lot of things to figure out soon, but they had to try.
———-
Liane offered to go to The Library or her house for shelter as the others agreed. Liane and Joshua let the path, as Bella and Mia followed behind. As they entered the Library, Liane could see the parallels between children as Bella acted in a way like Mia by using her surroundings, to create a area to pick up books and finding an space to collect their thoughts.
Meanwhile Josh’s curiosity but stand-off way of showcasing himself was similar to her, and she gets it. She wasn’t smart enough to stay focus for too long and wanted to use her energy to make a point that she belongs somewhere, to fight. She was someone who made plenty of mistakes and felt vastly alone for so long before finding Ethan and her friends to support her.
Liane remembers being excited to meet her nephew, buying everything for him and vowing to show him her land of opportunity. She pictured his little cheeks, how he would giggle and if his eyes would signify something like sunflowers. And here he was, as she saw herself in him. But she sees a mix of Mia and Nikolai as well.
It was weird but nice nonetheless the parallel between them.
She was taken out of her thoughts as soon as the doors of the library opened to showcase Cole smirking, “Ah if it isn’t the mothers and the children. I know you’re worried about Alex and the land, but fear not cause we will have a better place soon.”
“The hell did you do?” Mia asked looking up from the book.
Bella eyed her uncle, “Your the wizard of our world, you have something up your sleeve. What it is? A dragon? A killer beast?”
“You two are similar, I see.” Cole says almost immediately with a dry tone but his smirk stayed, “Alexander is being taken care of now. With magic back in town, I sent an invitation his way.”
“What kind of invitation?” Liane asked now intrigued, “To kill him?”
“In a way, yes, it would be a piercing death sentence. But the price is highly unlikely to payoff. With him dead, someone will have to rule. I assume the heroes will.”
Joshua looked out the window of the library watching the smoke clear up but the clouds remained grey as dark skies rose over the area of the town. Whatever Cole brought to murder Alexander was not pretty…
“Enough with the noise, Cole, but what is it exactly?” Joshua asked this time, still looking out the windows, reaching over to grab something to defend himself with.
“Oh, just a little friend from the other side, from the enchanted forest.” Cole said holding up a hand to stop him from asking anything else and continued, “Yes, our land is basically empty and now dead weight, a wasteland, but death knows all. So I brought a dead body Alexander’s way…”
“What the f-!”
———-
“Who in heavens are you?!” Alexander yelled, he had cuffs on his wrist to prevent him from using any magic as he tried to break free from the cell.
The ghost of knight’s slipped in between the bars of the cell and started to float. A black cloud covered its legs, as its body became like smoke. Its face was covered in scars, pale grey and his eyes were filled with anger. A shining light flashed from its eyes almost a piercing red-yellow color. He had a deep blade that basically made to stab and consume the life of others at his will.
It roared and shakes the air surrounding them, as the room temperature dropped below freezing and rumbling under Alexander’s feet.
Eariler Cole came in and threatened the man, as he ripped Alexander’s wrist and used a dagger to cut his hand. A black symbol appeared on his hand afterward in the shape of a coin with double swords in the center of it all.
For the first time in forever, Alexander was powerless against the beast in front of him. He tried shaking the cell block and jingling the lock but nothing happened. The knight sword started to move around and course the king’s life into the blade as Alexander screamed in pain. He suffered in silence and tears almost immediately appeared, shouting in the middle of the cell for help.
Nikolai and Ethan were gone at The Diner, probably even at the bar to drink their troubles away together.
Alexander has never felt pain like this before and it made him weaken over time, coughing and reaching for the walls to keep him from falling asleep on the ground floor. He wondered if this is how his behavior in the past, finally came to affect him in the future. A lifetime seeking pain for the suffering he caused to others.
He didn’t even know what to think.
All he knows was that he was screaming in agony for help.
The lights flickered in the station and in the view was his brother, who was growling at the man. Nikolai seemed to enjoy his presence as he suffered, Ethan and the others were behind him. He glanced over to Liane whose eyes flickered purple but fearful of the beast in front of him. Ethan rushed opening the cell and zapped the ghostly creature into stumbling back. Nikolai and Liane nodded blasting the figure as it roared fiercely at them then slipped away to the cracks of the window and out of the room.
Alexander sighed in relief coughing and grunting at the thought of his pain still lingering over him.
Liane’s eyes returned back to normal, “What was that thing?”
“I wish I knew..” Both brother muttered at the same time.
“I do.” Ethan admitted as the others nodded waiting for him to answer, “..in the same way death and life appear to be good or bad, so do those ghosts. In Wonderland, we called them Balance Knights, I don’t know what they are called in The Enchanted Realm. It can bring others, if not care to harm everyone…they can either bring life good luck or bad fortune..for Alexander it was death. And the pain he caused to others..”
“Okay so, how do we kill it?” Alexander spat out, breathing heavily.
“You kill no one.” Nikolai responded with a glare, “You can’t kill a ghost without fire and a way to sent it home to its body.”
“I want it dead. How do we sent it back?”
Liane was about to say something but a voice beat her to it. Mia entered the room and was followed behind the teens who held up books, broomsticks, along with a top hat. Jeremy walked in after a few moments with a smirk on his face holding dark dust.
Nikolai muttered something about how he requested them to stay outside and then his wife refused to listen to him. Mia threw him a look holding the book in her hands. Ethan and Liane notice Josh was holding the set of broomsticks and Bella was carrying the top hat. One of The Mad Hatter’s famous hat.
Jeremy explains how he used to study plenty of books back in the day. One of them held information on Cole’s little creature, crediting the teens for the idea, and how to send the knight back.
With that, they got to work.
————
In the middle of town hall, everyone stood up carrying weapons to protect themselves and fight the enemy at hand. Alexander was used as bait, as Joshua cut a similar mark on the man’s hand to lure the ghost in. With blood on his hand and Alexander standing in the front, the creature appeared once again to take him.
Joshua held up a broomstick with fire almost immediately like it was a sword to lure it closer, Nikolai, Ethan and Liane used their blast the creature. The ghost screamed and shouted roaring, flipping his sword around to fight the trio. The trio used their magic to keep the knight steady as they fought. Mia and Bella made their appearance together, with pages of the spell book open and the hat in hand.
Bella chanted the words of the spell to convince the knight to pause and take leave, as it hissed trying to attack, meanwhile Mia spin the Hatter’s top hat hoping to enchant magic to open a portal. Jeremy poured the dark dust surrounding the hat and the area where it stand, pushing them backward for safety reasons.
The portal only opened slightly and slowly approached into a small circle of blackened clouds. But it wasn’t clear enough for the ghost to fit. The trio was too busy fighting meanwhile Jeremy and Mia were using the broomstick covered with flames and salt to keep the knight from escaping the attack they made.
Bella kept chanted and looking for pages to widen a portal, inching forward to the hat as she nodded at Joshua to follow along. Joshua had a determined look on his space spinning the hat and spreading the dark dust over the top hat. Bella’s eyes narrowed down picking up some more dust from the ground, gripped onto her friends forearm as they both chanted the words.
Like well…magic, it worked as the portal open sucking in the knight into its grand hole back to where it came.
The adults were so preoccupied with the damage and rushing the knight towards the end of the hat, they didn’t notice the aftermath of the chaos. The portal didn’t close on time, sucking Bella and Joshua in, Jeremy was trying to destroy the entire portal but got caught inside as well.
“Not my kids!” Liane exclaimed jumping over and into the portal.
Nikolai growled, “I’m losing more family again!”
Their spouses yelled at them, trying desperately to make a jump for it and exchanged insults later.
Ethan and Mia planned to jumpstart the portal to appear a little long to appear across but it was too late.. Nikolai jumped across the fence and into the portal as it closed right before their eyes.
The only thing left was the hat slowly turning around and stopped on the ground, as Alexander hissing on the floor…

Where the Sea and Land Kiss
Dom x Colson (Yungblud x Machine Gun Kelly)
Warnings: future ABO (possibly). No real warnings yet, this is really just a test. An idea @iamnotanearthlingmotherfucker and I were workshopping and I thought I'd see what everyone thinks. Cursing, boys looking at each other longingly, mentioned violence, vikings, magic, naked boys ☠️ Rating: mature
I'm not done with the other I swear, I've just been very sick with a lot on my mind so I've been resting but we talked about this and I had to test it out. I hope you enjoy 🖤
Something woke Kol'son from his deep sleep. He was always ready for battle, he had been raised to listen to every twig or crackle of the fire or shift of the wind but as his blue eyes opened just enough to scan the room he didn't feel danger. Whatever had made the noise didn't make the man's hackles rise or set an alarm off in his head. He'd been brought up to listen to his senses and trust his instincts but he was confused. Somehow he knew his home had been invaded but he didn't feel threatened. For a moment he thought one of his clan's children had come to him or possibly one of the women had snuck in to try and bed him again but the world quieted and he let a sigh escape.
The chieftain rolled on his side then to his belly, his soft cock ghosting against the unbelievably plush new pelt he'd been gifted and he couldn't help rolling his hips just to feel it a little more. He normally didn't accept gifts but there was something about the skin that drew him in. He folded his arms under his head and wiggled against the fur, letting the crackle of his fire lull him back to rest.
Damhnaic scoffed, he couldn't believe his pelt was being so molested by the warrior and he knew this was all his fault. All he'd wanted that morning was to get a closer look at the leader when members of his tribe fished in the boy's waters. He'd done it before, he'd been watching the man for years now but he must have gotten careless and left his fur where it could be stolen. When he returned to where he'd left it he found his hiding spot empty and a scent of children was left in its wake. He'd followed the group further than ever before, wandering after them all the way to their home and he waited in the tree line for darkness. His senses had of course led him here. To the leader. The naked, sleeping, quite frankly gorgeous leader and his pelt under him. Fuck it was just his luck.
"Join or fuck off." A gruff voice sounded and the selkie jumped, his jade eyes wide, his plush bottom lip rolling between his teeth. The man couldn't be talking to him could he? As he looked around he realized no one else was with them. He'd never been spoken to by a human. That wasn't allowed. "Your third option is die but my bed is new and I don't want blood on it."
Kol'son hadn't moved to look who was in his hut, he assumed one of the women but when he didn't hear anything he peeked across the room. In the shadows was a beautiful boy but the firelight caught his eyes and they reflected like the beasts of the land. That… wasn't normal. Must have been a trick of the light. "Are you lost?" He sighed, rolling back to his side and propping himself up on his elbow. Perhaps it was a son of another tribe who fell behind during a hunt. The kid looked young. Younger than him and he wasn't truly chieftain age, he wouldn't hold his position if not for his father's untimely death. He tried to live up to his name's promise, especially with something like that, but he knew at times he could be too soft. He should be gutting the intruder, not sitting up and trying his hardest not to scare him.
He pushed a hand through his hair, the blonde braids tickling his shoulder as he tilted his head and watched the kid. "Do you need something? Besides clothes?" Shit he was naked and beautiful and it made the man realize they were both bare to the elements. It was after all though his home. The intruder was the strange one.
"As if you can talk." The boy couldn't help but quip and he clamped his jaw shut. His first words to a human were sarcastic. Of course. He could just hear his mother's voice screaming in his head about the evil men and their brutal nature. His pelt was already stolen, he was fucked.
The chieftain surprised him by laughing, his head thrown back, his stomach muscles clenching. He couldn't help but stare at the tattooed and scarred skin. For a human he was gorgeous and if he smirked back and took a few steps closer no one could blame him. The bastard was magnetic. "Come, sit next to the fire and relax boy. Tell me where you're from. I don't recognize your accent." Kol'son knew that was a bad sign, the kid sounded far different than anything he'd heard before and he had been on plenty of travels.
"Let's jus' say I'm… from across the sea." Damhnaic tried not to laugh at his own joke as he stepped closer and bravely took a seat on his own fucking pelt. It wasn't the first time but it was definitely the first anyone else had shared it with him. Especially naked. What was happening? "Me people traveled 'ere and um… we lost our way. I got separated from 'em and found me way 'ere. When I saw ya fire was still burning I… I was cold." He shrugged, most of it was close enough to the truth. He didn't think he could get his skin back easily so perhaps making nice with the human would keep him safe for the night. He could steal it back in the morning and run for it. No harm no foul.
"Kol'son." The man nodded.
"I know."
"What?"
"Nuffin. I… 'eard someone. Um yeah, Damhnaic." When the human offered his arm to embrace the boy got nervous. He'd thought of touching him for so long but… that definitely wasn't allowed. As the chieftain tried to pronounce his name he felt something in his belly bubble, a rush of giddy nerves that had him reaching out and clasping the inked forearm. The Viking felt strong, his muscles bunching under his touch as they grasped and shook, greeting each other and lingering longer than strictly necessary. "Dom works." He finally giggled when the difference between their tongues was too glaringly obvious. It was cute the way he tried to shape sounds he'd never heard. He knew enough of the Viking's language to know that his name meant dark. Virtuous. Leader. Something far more beautiful than his own, he never felt like a gift for a god. He remembered the man's father, most of the clan he'd been following seemed nice and he still remembered the sound of his new friend's cries when he was told of his father's death at sea.
The newcomer got a faraway look and Kol accidentally tightened his hold. The boy's skin felt cool to the touch, almost wet in a way and he couldn't seem to let go. "Where are you?" He whispered, watching the orange flames flicker in the boy's big eyes but his voice startled him.
"Nowhere. Sorry I- I'm tired." Dom smiled, pulling his hand back and tucking his long raven hair behind his pointed ear. His skin almost burned where they'd touched as if he was forever marked. How was the human so hot? He didn't think they were supposed to run so warm. "I should go." He whispered into the air between them but he made no move to escape.
"Stay." Kol'son sighed back before shaking himself and clearing his throat. If he didn't know better he'd think the boy magic. There certainly was a spell over him. He shouldn't let someone sleep in his home but he didn't want him leaving. He couldn't bear it. "You're welcome here. Just sleep and in the morning we can find you something to wear and fill your belly and I'll try and help you find your way home." There, that sounded like something a leader would do. Right?
Damhnaic smiled and chewed nervously at his lip. The Viking was surprised by the sharpness of his teeth but he knew other clans sometimes did that to their people to scare off others. Give them an edge. He just hoped the boy wasn't from one of the cannibal tribes. Shit maybe he should ask more but not yet. The kid looked exhausted and scared.
Dom shifted down, a little confused at the offer but he tried to lay on his own damn pelt and rest. His gaze fell to the fire instead of the man but he could still feel the heavy blue eyes on his skin and when Kol'son finally laid down and got comfortable he swore he could feel the touch even though he wasn't in his own fur. He didn't know how he was supposed to sleep but perhaps laying on a bed with the human all night wouldn't be so bad. He would just enjoy the company and leave when the leader was distracted. He just needed to wait for a moment he could secret his self away. That was all. He was just trying to keep his pack safe. Keep hidden. That was obviously the only reason he would stay the night. Obviously. One night and no longer. What harm could it be?

Hunter/Knight Character Intro
You were born with the soul of the Solitary, which signifies your tendency to move from place to place.
Your father and mother are unknown to you, as they died soon after you were born. Instead, you had been raised by your uncle Belos Goldborn, who established a mercenary band soon after taking you in.
From the earliest time you could hold a sword, your uncle has been training you to be a knight. It isn’t an easy life but it was what you knew.
In your first ever sparring match with a member of the mercenary band, The Knights Of The Golden Eagles, you were pitted against their weakest member yet it was still a challenge for you.
However, a fighter’s true colors show under harsh conditions, when you saw your opponent's sword coming, you…
Quickly stepped aside and dodged it. (Fast Stance)
Raised your buckler and stood your ground. (Defense Stance)
Your uncle was pleased with the results and inducted you as a knight a few years later, however…As time went by, Belos became distant from you and his men, quickly becoming obsessed with arcane tombs and rituals.
You suspect that this may be due to the curse that he has suffered from since childhood, an enchantment that turns him into a horrifying beast.
One night, you sneak up on him reading and express your desire to help him. Belos turns down your offer and ushers you back to your room in the local inn, but this doesn’t seem like it will help, you…
Run away and search for a cure for the curse (nothing, enables dash)
You suspect that Belos doesn’t want you to worry about him, yet that doesn’t quell your fears.
Running off in the dead of night may have gotten you away from the others, but over the next few months you find nothing.
Eventually, your uncle tracks you down and takes you back.
Do as Belos told you and remain with the mercenary band (20 silver coins)
You decide to hide your fear and remain with the group, as running off wouldn’t help its other members.
Over the next few months, you manage to obtain a personal allowance of 20 coins.
Over time, commoners begin to gather around Belos and sing his praises, as he started from roots similar to them.
You were lucky enough to watch it play out over the years and must agree with them, your uncle is an incredible man.
The army grew rapidly after that and you were promoted to his right hand man, however you noticed that Belos was even worse for wear than before, as his curse had been rapidly spreading.
Things would only go out of control once he ordered a raid on the capital of the new world, Vinland.
Without any warning, Belos slaughtered everyone between him and the ancient relics they held.He seemingly targeted the dark priests and left none alive, either stealing their tombs or burning them.
It was enough of an overblow for the kingdom of Rondon to use it against him, sending knights to quell your army.
As their troops marched towards your smaller army, you had to choose which position to take the upcoming encounter.
Take the rear and manage defenses (long sword, eagle crest shield, plate mail, leg guards)
Spearhead the upcoming assault (iron spear, iron cutlass, arm guards)The Knights Of The Golden Eagle lost the fight.
Many of your comrades died but you managed to escape the battlefield.
Belos was taken alive and will likely be either publicly executed or used for propaganda.
You knew that there wasn’t much time left so you had to act fast.
Even if it was a suicide mission, you had to save your uncle from the prison he was held in.
Before leaving for your desperate journey, you…
Stock up on equipment (x7 tinderboxes, quill, blue vial)
Stock up on food (x3 dried meat, a moldy bread, and cheese)
Rush straight after him (Dash if certain options above were selected)

Kingdom Hearts Revived: Redux
So picture this story set in this massive crossover prompt (that sortof rips off Kingdom Hearts, specifically KH1). Either for a video game or a series (ignore the obvious licensing problems). Intentionally vague for you to give your own interpretation (like what the title is for instance). Take your time with this one, especially if you decide to give your thoughts on EVERYTHING, not just the Mandy and Wonder Woman arc.
This would be something like the LOTR movies in that it focuses on multiple groups of protagonists instead of just one, but for here specifically, focus will be drawn to a certain Asian “mean girl” and an Amazonian warrior.
First, background information to give it extra flavor.
ELSEWHERE (not the title)
In the universe, various evil beings congregate and do their evil plans. The egotistical disgraced billionaire turned supervillain Lex Luthor, the white wizard Saruman, and the shapeshifting red headed blue mutant Mystique all lead their own Legions of Doom from all around the galaxy to uncover some sort of Macguffin that either gives them ultimate power or whatever is their greatest wishes (in Mystique’s case; it’s partly following prophecies by her dearly departed Destiny). They may or may not be warring with each other.
One of said villains picks up a firebender named Azula, formerly the princess of a warmongering nation, with the nation lost and azula herself suffering a mental breakdown as a result. Azula is manipulated by the Villain into becoming their personal underling (why the villain does this, YMMV).
However, several scenes show that Azula is also being influenced by a mysterious orb of red and green light who instructs her to feed on her most damaging tendencies (or, alternatively, sabotage the villains plans).
On the heroes side, a paranormal organization with members Hellboy, Martin and Diana Lombard (from Totally Spies’s sister show), amongst others does some undercover work investigating the threats, superheroes are beginning to form (eventually leading to a team combining Marvel and DC characters) clashing with the Legions, etc. Sarah Connor from Terminator plays either the Nick Fury or Amanda Waller role eventually overseeing everything.
Eventually all the players come together. After a big battle against Saruman, Luthor, and Mystique; then enters Freddy Krueger, a nightmare demon with a red and green sweater and a funny claw, fueled by the emotions of fear, rage, and pain. Either Freddy simply hijacks all the villains plans, or it’s revealed that Freddy was using all the villains as his puppets all along. Either way, he needed Azula to get the goods (he was the Orb), and once the opportunity presented itself, he either kills Azula or does something to her body and sends her down an abyss (but it’s ambiguous if she survived or not) and then becomes the main villain and moves on to destroy the entire universe (Originally his plan was only to destroy the world but when opportunity presented itself, plans changed.)
So boom boom, random boss fight with a giant version of the Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth, Freddy becomes a battleship and then boom finale.
(However, either a post credits scene or future installments reveal that since Freddy spread so much terror to the whole universe already, he is able to not only come back, but is no longer confined to Earth. But he’s not trying for another universe destroying plot… so far.)
THE STORY HERE (still not the title)
Mandy from Totally Spies was just doing her typical schtick in either high school or college when a mysterious storm appeared destroying her school (or maybe her entire hometown). May or may not involve Legion members or monsters. Mandy survived. Somewhere along the way Mandy has to join Wonder Woman, Diana of Themyscira, on an adventure for some reason (maybe it’s to get rid of a curse, a prophecy, dealing with some newfound superpower or another reason) where they encounter said Legions and the leaders. Mandy learns a couple of things about herself in the journey as Diana’s persuasive words touch her heart and soul.
All the while the firebender encounters them at various (but not frequent) points of the story for an unknown personal reason (either the Villain/Orb instructs her to or Azula just focuses on them against her master’s orders). Think of Riku’s scenes in Traverse Town, Agrabah, Monstro, Neverland and Hollow Bastion. In a series, Azula would probably appear in 3 or 4 episodes (but not in a row) of the Mandy-Diana arc leading up to the penultimate event.
Wonder Woman takes cues from her incarnation pre-Infinite Crisis in that she doesn’t have a secret identity like others have, however (as a nod to Perez era) she doesn’t really identify herself as “Wonder Woman” though she’s not offended by the media nickname, but she always makes it a point for others to call her Diana.
Wonder Woman and Mandy would stay separate from Connor and the rest of the heroes (as Diana has not joined a superhero team yet) at least until either the halfway or penultimate point of the main story, then they are present with them as they defeat Freddy.
Diana keeps her lasso of truth as usual. Sometime, Mandy gains an ornate axe decorated with thorns (will elements of “Goth Mandy” come to play?), either gifted to her or something she draws “from her heart” somehow. It‘s either just a physical weapon or has some “soul power”.
After the end of the story, either Mandy moves in to Themyscira as an Amazon, or simply Wonder Woman and Mandy just hang out in their world, something else, etc.
So, how do you imagine their story would play out? What would Mandy and Diana of Themyscira’s friendship or something else (but not romance) be like? Any analyses you can draw from this vague concept?
And if you‘re curious enough to talk about the other parts of the story (heroes and legions, Freddy’s role), again how would the story play in your opinion? (This is optional however).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Alright for the rewrite of ”Kingdom Hearts Ripoff: Redux”; alongside ideas you said you’d like to develop more, here’s some ideas that were meant but not properly explained in the original prompt:
If memory serves, only Saruman was the evil “White Wizard/Ishtari” and the White Council were the good guys so the White Council wouldn’t really work as bad guys. If anything Gandalf would be part of the good guys.
Sauron is either dead or simply doesn’t exist in this story at all. He’s a Dark Lord far more powerful than all four of the main villains combined.
The “Legions of Doom” were more of a general meaning for villainous crossover teams. The three villains have their own Legions comprising of villains from many franchises (that you can pick) from all around the galaxy. For example say that Luthor’s Legion has Doctor Octopus and The Riddler, Saruman has Captain Barbossa, Dr. Facilier and Snow White’s Wicked Witch, and Mystique has Livewire. (these are not the total members or need to be the legion members LOL) but you can stick with Luthor’s Legion and Mystique’s Brotherhood if you want, though Saruman will need his own Legion.
You can use Saruman as the role of Azula’s “boss”; but he wasn’t really the “manipulator” in LOTR. He had to literally possess a king to gain control of his kingdom (which failed), and beforehand he bribed a slimy servant to corrupt him. Mystique on the other hand is a well known manipulator (and backstabber) and remember JL “Tabula Rasa”?
Azula’s mental breakdown should play a crucial role. didn’t read comics but according to creators, the situation was so bad she got committed to an asylum. This would explain why Azula was more easily susceptible to the manipulation by one of the Villains and Freddy/The Orb (yes remember that both the Villain and Freddy were manipulating her, even if Freddy told her to betray the former). Also of importance should be Freddy’s/The Orb’s corruption of her, playing on her insecurities and specifically instructing her to take those self-destructive tendencies and inner turmoil and embrace it furthermore. It cost Azula her own friends, family and ultimately her own home dearly in the war of the Fire Nation, and again here it plays a role in her death or demise alongside Freddy.
Why does Freddy take the form of an Orb when privately speaking to Azula? Was it of his own choice, or was Azula (and his further corruption of her) more important than one would think?
(Optional) To give an idea of story progression, maybe it first begins with the paranormal organization, and then the rise of the superheroes as probably a response to the Legions. The paranormal organization would probably try to work ”in the dark” as they probably done before, as no one previously really believed in tales like the Jersey Devil and vampires, and they probably needed to keep it a secret. However with the rise of superheroes, the public would realize that these so called “fairy tales” were more logical than they think and the secrets can no longer be contained, and the paranormal organization would have to step up their game.
As superheroes are just beginning to form, Sarah Connor would probably form the team of superheroes close to the beginning point of the story or the halfway mark.
Luthor/Saruman/Mystique and Freddy would play out like Maleficent and Ansem in the first KH in that ultimately those three villains are the “focus” for most of the story, driving most of the plot forward (with Freddy appearing in only brief scenes with Azula as the Orb for the “first two acts” ) and it’s only in like the final third of the story that Freddy steals the show. The “penultimate event” would be a battle against the three villains and Freddy’s arrival (as himself, not the Orb), the real “final act and finale” would be Freddy trying to destroy the universe. TLDR; those three bad guys are the main villains of the beginning and middle, Freddy is the villain for (only) the third act and finale. Inspired by KH1’s ”Hollow Bastion” story.
No offense, but Mystique is incredibly resistant to mind tricks, Saruman is basically a powerful wizard, and Luthor, while narcissistic, is still a genius, so it wouldn’t really make much sense that not one of them could defeat Freddy already when all three of them are still sticking around at the same time. Nor would it make much sense for Freddy to not either kill them or do something horrible to them. But TLDR; once Freddy becomes this story’s main baddie, Saruman, Mystique, and Luthor are either all dead or taken out of commission.
Doesn’t mean that Freddy himself necessarily killed them or beat them however. Perhaps they died or were beaten because of their own failings (again like Maleficent in KH1) and Freddy only took charge after the fact (again like Ansem).
(Optional) Maybe Freddy would ultimately possess Azula’s body and reform it to his own physical image (like Ansem with Riku)? If so, then her soul would be banished into an abyss. Here’s a scene for reference (this is after the main villain takes over said character’s body and banishes his “heart”): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=thwKomyWCBg&list=PLBSaGsHLuQhGIfEeU6b-purevzVSFjISK&index=28
Freddy does not fight the Pale Man. It was a reference to KH1 where the final world had a random Chernabog boss for no real reason. So in here, before the heroes fight Freddy, a giant version of Pan’s Labyrinth Pale Man shows out of nowhere and fights the heroes. Exactly why The Pale Man is here is your interpretation.
Alternate universes are not in this story, too complicated, no offense. Everything takes place in the same universe. Maybe the same world if they don’t have to travel to other planets (which they probably do).
Mandy and Wonder Woman’s arc would not be after Freddy’s arrival. Rather their arc (starting with Mandy’s college destroyed) would play out from either the very beginning or close to the beginning. Maybe as opposed to the other heroes and the paranormal organization (who probably stay “on their own turf” as to speak) their arc would be more of the “adventure” genre where they explore realms and places. And with Freddy only being the main villain for the final third, they probably wouldn’t be “oppressed” by the darkness as much.
(Optional) there would probably be several (but not many) scenes where Diana takes Mandy to see Themyscira. To give an example, maybe Diana takes her there after the college storm, and they go there several times either to rest or to find out from (or tell) Diana’s mother the events that are transpiring in the world and universe.
Azula would in no way (intentionally) help the heroes nor Mandy and Diana. Azula’s personal motivation for antagonizing Mandy and Diana would be more of an emotional one (for a hint, think of how Azula would feel about them, especially the Amazon, as well as Freddy/Orb’s influence). (Riku from KH1 was an inspiration, only without the “former childhood friend” element. If you don’t care about spoilers there’s a video that has all Riku scenes from the first Kingdom Hearts. And yiu probably shouldn’t bother looking it up on the wiki, the story of KH is way to over complicated)
As you said yourself, more development on the Asian girl and Amazon princess as friends pls. Also on how Diana would help Mandy on her own inner problems on their journey, not just the ones currently, but the ones she always had since high school.

His presence was overwhelming, to say the least. Even if he were surrounded by six hundred other equally handsome men, somehow, to you (and the majority of the female population, at that point) he was as captivating and magnetic as they come. Jeon Jungkook didn't pay no mind to no one, but sure as hell everyone became hyper aware of his existence and essence in time. And that didn’t exclude you.
Yet, as nonchalant and indifferent as the man could be perceived, in reality he was more considerate and friendly than the aura he exuded. You knew this because working in the same company had to teach a thing or two about the people who literally carried said company and the whole industry at some point, still you barely knew four or three people, including your assistant and Jungkook, whom you had met once.
The opportunity of working at the company had come to you out of the blue, quite literally, you were attempting to send one of your assignments in when an email appeared in your notifications during your sailor moon study break.
HYBE Entertainment
We’re glad to inform you that you’re being recruited for the position of Logistics Manager in one of our sub companies, BIGHIT Entertainment. We’ve thoroughly looked through the CV you’ve submitted and are very interested in your capabilities and what you can contribute to our organization. One of our other managers will gladly meet you on a day you can both agree on. Make sure to answer this email to get more details about your interview.
“Nani!? THE FUCK?” sure as hell that your eyes and cognitive functions were deceiving you (ADHD) you went over the text a little over three times in a row before the message settled in your mind. This was sus.
Before even considering a reply you made a quick call. “Fucking Lee Chaeryeong” you spat on your end of the line. “You did this, didn’t you?”.
Her silence was more than enough to have you cursing her under your breath. “I don’t know what exactly you’re talking about but it most likely was me. Does it have to do with a sex toy in particular?”
“No” you denied almost monotonously, guessing the pile of boxes in the corner of your room with her names on them was what she referred to. “Does anything come to mind if i mention BIGHIT FUCKING ENTERTAINMENT?”
It was her. All those conversations during the summer about how badly you wanted to work in the entertainment business as marketing staff of some sort had their effect on your friend, who, despite all your excuses and denials, knew you better than you and your mom combined did, and because of this, was sure as hell you were not making a move towards that goal whatsoever. So, being the boss bitch she was, she took matters into her own hands, was what she explained.
You concluded that was the reason you had reached a point in your life where you had more experience than most recently graduated kids in your field, because Chaeryeong had you moving every summer break. You had been the manager of a coffee franchise and convenience store during you junior and senior years, and also figured a way to improve the marketing management strategy of a fucking restaurant while at it. Not to toot your own horn, but you were kind of cool.
Or not. “I hope this job satisfies your workaholic ass for once, I’m running out of ideas”. Chaeryeong spat before hanging up.
Sure as hell it would.
On friday afternoon, you made your way to the HYBE INSIGHT building and introduced yourself to your recruiters who promised to give you a call at some point. “It went fine” you told Chaeryeong once you were in your car. And it was the truth, however you weren’t so sure if they would actually hire you at some point since well, you were a girl in a male dominated industry and, in your opinion, there were always better people than you. “Wanna go grab coffee?”
“I want to. But, I have practice today. I’m actually on my way there. Please avoid driving through Hongdae today, this shit’s packed.” You sighed and thanked her for the heads up. You missed your friend, badly. You hadn’t seen each other in three weeks, and you didn’t even live so far away from each other (you did, but it had been worse before). You two had very agitated lives to say the least. Chaeryeong was a kpop group member, and well, you were jumping from job to job and getting your phD in Business Management at the same time. It was hard to find moments to spare together during some periods of the year, but you guess the anticipation made your encounters better.
“Talk about anticipation” you slammed your forehead against your desk, taking a breather after such an anxiety packed situation. Short story: you got the job (for some fucking reason). And you had gone through a whole week of expectancy and anguish. Not getting that job would have broken your heart, and ego at the same time.
You guessed the law of attraction tactics Chaeryeong had taught you had sorted their effect and were what led you to your current position in life.
“Miss _____, your presentation’s ready” your work assistant gave you a comforting pat in the back as she took a seat somewhere next to you. You were nervous, shitless. It was your fifth week at the job, and being the proactive woman you were, you had collected lots of data in order to come up with a resources management plan.
It was a Thursday afternoon, and more than a hundred people sat in front of you, waiting for your speech. Including him, who you’d once bumped into accidentally during one of your data recollections runs inside the building.
You hated having the need to impress others yet, hence your anxious behaviour. But this was a decisive moment in regards to your validation in your new job and how you’d continue to be perceived during your work stance (no reason to panic at all)… you needed to get it together.
“I think I just pissed off a bunch of old men right now,” you told your assistant right after you got off stage. “I need a bathroom break”. Linh gave you a reassuring smile, one she always had plastered on her face.
“Take as long as you need to. I’ll give you a call once the rest are done”.
The commute to the bathroom was unnecessarily complicated in your opinion. You had spent a little over a month rushing through the hallways of the building and you swore every single day your spatial orientation got a bit more fucked up. There was no way there wasn’t a single bathroom on the floor you were in, that would just be atrocious. “It’s not completed yet” someone said beside you as you stared at the half empty map the company had projected on a wall next to the elevators. “Where do you need to go?”
Kim Taehyung of all people in the world was talking to your ugly and unworthy ass. Your breath caught in your throat and after staring for at least five seconds your body finally reacted to your orders. “Oh, um… the bathroom. I’ve been looking for it for a good ten minutes” you explained with a nervous laugh.
“Trust me, I get it. I still get lost over here” he smiled gently. “It’s in the hallway in the middle of the next hallway”
You laughed at his very ambiguous explanation. “Thank you” you bowed your head and made your way to said destination.
It was in the hallway to your left, not your right, and it took you a while to figure out that new piece of information. Once you were staring at yourself in the mirror, you realized that you looked considerably tired and exhausted from all the social interaction you had undergone throughout the day. You were used to the side stares and whispering you’d get whenever you entered a room at that point, but some days you just wished you could get a break from them. After all, it wasn’t your fault you didn’t look Korean at all, and that you also didn’t fit the stereotype of a foreigner.
You got that from your mom, both the non Korean features and social fatigue. But that wasn’t even the problem most of the time, it was your friendly and smart nature which she had also passed onto you. Some would consider it a blessing, but to you it was a burden, like a clear glass that shielded you from introducing yourself into other people’s realities. You had few friends and people to trust, but in your everyday life you had to deal with the pressure of standing out too much and that came with a lot of negative energy from others. You sigh as you spray your favorite fragrance on yourself. You could be feeling like shit, but no one will ever catch you slipping.
But that excluded him apparently. You hadn’t noticed that on the other side of the hallway was the men’s bathroom and the realization hit you as you were calmly getting some tea from the vending machine. “Good afternoon” the man greeted you as he made his way out the hallway, but stopped in his tracks right after he noticed you. “_____! Hi” he smiled at you and you wanted to die, suddenly forgetting what you were ordering in the first place.
“H-hi Jungkook” You smiled back, poorly attempting to put your wallet back into your backpack.
“Need help there?” he noticed your agitated state and held your bag for you. He smelled just as heavenly as you had expected, somewhat between big dick energy and flowers. Oh, and he also remained as kind and polite as you remembered him.
Seeming as if he wasn’t planning on continuing his path to wherever he was heading to in the first place, he stood quietly by your side, waiting for you to be done with your deal. “How have you been?” you break the ice for him.
Quickly, you grab your tea and start walking back to the auditorium together, unaware of your surroundings or the suspicions that could arise. “Busy, but very good. How have you been? I saw your presentation earlier… I wish I understood half of what you said but you still sounded amazing”.
And you would never admit it out loud, but you were positive you were blushing (and falling in love too - platonically, of course). “Oh god, you think so? I basically told them they’ve been doing things wrong all along so maybe you’re the only one who’s appreciative of my work” you handed him the second can of iced tea you bought without him noticing. You swear his eyes lit up like stars in the night sky. “Payback for the other day” you smile at him.
The first time you two had crossed paths you didn’t look nearly as glamorous as you did now. In fact, you looked incredibly disturbed and in pain, carrying a huge pile of paperwork in your hands. But as soon as sweet Jungkook noticed your state, he offered you a hand and somehow ended up helping through your multiple data collecting trips that afternoon. It was a nice day.
“Anytime” he took the can in his hands with a shy look on his face. “Unless I’m practicing, you know…” you look down at his feet, with huge black boots engulfing them, and you smile due to their contrast with his personality. “Here, i’ll give you my number so you can call me whenever you need to put all those papers back. Hopefully I’ll be around” he added as he pulled his phone from his back pocket.
Way to get a girl’s number, my god.

In the abandoned casino you call home, everything smelt of lost hope. The pipes rusting, water leaking from their cracks and causing the surrounding mold to spread across the carpet beneath it. The graves of your allies were spread out across the perimeter of the building, their corpses either nowhere to be found or dug up and eaten by the beasts that had killed them. Whispers and mumbles echo from the people you could have come to call friends in another life, but their backs were turned towards you, shunning you from that sliver of a chance at a ‘normal’ life.
The sun peeked through the large windows of the building when you make your way downstairs towards the assembly hall. You yawn, mouth agape as you try to rub the remaining sleepiness out of your eyes. Waking up early was something you had to become accustomed to here, whether you liked it or not. Your hands found their way to your sides, clutching at the fabric of your shirt and pulling it close. You felt as though a single breath out of place would make these people hate you just the littlest bit more.
You knew you were the center of this minor dilemma you found yourself in. Outcasted, a funny thing, wasn’t it? To be rejected by the group you could call, what, a family? That was absurd, and yet, you long for it. They had a fair reason not to take kindly towards you. A stranger, someone nobody had ever heard of, not even a name on the side of a coffee cup, rose to the top of the hunters in their little group. You could barely hold your own before, so how come now you could kill monsters so efficiently with an arrow through the skull?
The top. Here, it meant you were the best hunter. Other social statuses didn’t matter, apart from one person, but what mattered most is that you could hold your own and protect your allies. That and that alone amounted to your worth. You and one other person had been graced with being at the top of the chain. Punz. Oh, oh he didn’t like you. No, not one bit.
You rose to your current position as one of Las Nevadas’ best hunters in a little under a week. He knew you were a skilled hunter. Hell, they assigned him to keep tabs on you when the group’s so-called ‘leader’ gained interest. But so much as this? It was frustrating, bordering infuriating. He fought for his position, bloodshed with the scars to prove it. And you? You. You went in right under his nose. You fought hard, you knew that. You put in the effort to make it to where you were in a group of strangers. Punz didn’t see it that way. Nobody in the damn place did.
The other hunters saw you as a problem, a pest. Someone as bad as the monsters they dealt with on a daily. Every time you went out on a mission, it came directly from them. Time and time again they gave you missions with the most deadly monsters, ready to celebrate the day you never came back. Hoping that one evening these solo missions would turn into your downfall. Waiting for that oh-so-sweet pager message to tell them you were gone, never to be heard from again.
As far as they knew, that message was yet to come.
With a jump off the last step, your feet collide with the carpeted flooring of the lobby. Or, as most here called it, the assembly hall. The room was filled, not completely, but as far as you knew, every member of the little ragtag group was here. You made your way to one of the adjacent walls, earning a few scowls and glares from your comrades. You brush it off; you have to, or else they’d feed off of your reaction like it was a starving man being graced with a meal. Your footsteps fall heavy as you walked, people around moving out of the way like you were the plague. That, or bumping into you, cursing at your clumsiness. It’s tiring, and yet you have to deal with it to survive.
When you finally make your way across, you lean with your back against the wall with a small sigh of relief. You note how the wood caves slightly under your weight, almost asking you to add more pressure and break through. You push the thought aside, instead of letting your eyes scan the room, taking in everything and everyone you can see. Every single person there talked within a group. Whether it was only one other person or 10 strangers you had yet to know the names of, they all have someone to share their thoughts with. Where did that leave you? Your eyes cast towards the ceiling above you, a chandelier hanging down. The golden rods allowed for the pieces of glass to hang down, reflecting the sunlight that had peeked through.
That chandelier was always something you look forward to seeing during these assembly meetings. It was your only constant. The sun shining through the windows, casting onto the glass and gold, painting little rainbows on the surrounding area. Maybe you admire it because you never saw one up in person before, maybe you like how it was high out of your reach. Maybe you would never know why you like it, but you still did.
“People!” A familiar voice shouts from your far left, the voices of everyone around you diminishing into silence, looking with awe at the man who spoke. They all knew, of course, so did you. You turn your attention towards him, the man everyone calls their leader.
Quackity.
Who would have thought the shorty that ran the recruitment center would be the leader? You squint your eyes, trying to see him better from the distance you stood at. He wore the same thing every day, a white button-up, rolled to his elbows, black slacks, and suspenders. He didn’t look intimidating; he didn’t look important, and yet everyone here treated him like a god. It was annoying, but you’d have to continue dealing with it. You didn’t want to lose your tongue for speaking out of place, now did you?
Next to him stood Punz. That bastard was like a personal plaything for Quackity. When he’s bored? Call the man to entertain him. When he’s threatened? Order him to kill the offender. When he’s on his last breath? Take everything from him and leave him to rot. What could he do, argue? That was laughable. Quackity ruled over the casino. There was no question about it. He ruled over Las Nevadas. He. Ruled.
Both of their eyes met yours, Punz’s glare more intense towards you than usual, and Quackity’s smile widening, the scar through his lip making it more menacing. They were a full story above you, peering off of the balcony at you. As quick as their glances met yours, they left, turning to the others in the crowd. Punz stood a foot behind Quackity, the man in question leaning over the railing with his arms spread out wide.
“My people! Another beautiful day in our home, wouldn’t you say?” His rhetorical question was met with cheers and joyful cries. You notice how it seems to only fuel his ego. How sad. His hands meet his head, readjusting his dark blue beanie, moving a piece of dark hair that had escaped underneath it. “I’m sure you’re bored with me saying the same thing every day.” He says, voice loud as it echoes through the open room. Nobody spoke. You knew he liked it like that. All the attention on him.
He stands up straight, laughing lightheartedly whilst backing away from the railing and instead of walking along the side of it. “No, I’m sure you all have no problem with it.” A few scattered cheers voice their agreement, you notice how Quackity visibly stiffens. Poor bastards, you think, they wouldn’t make it tomorrow with that interruption. He clears his throat once more, the room quiet again. “We have a busy day today! We have leaks on the second floor that need fixing, a few easy pests that need to be taken care of in the garden, and our hunters have new assignments.” You perk up at the talk of assignments, your attention set on him more than before. “Hunters, you know the drill.”
You did. You push off of the wall, walking towards the front. A few people surrounding you decide to move out of your way now, all of them. The crowd parts like the Red Sea, letting you and the hunters around walk past without trouble. Two hunters on your left, three to your right, four behind. There were ten of your total, which wasn’t too bad, but it just added to the number of people that didn’t take a liking to you. You keep your pace quick, walking up to the fold-out table that sat below Quackity’s balcony.
A woman and a man stand behind it, both dressed in yellow vests. The table has ten manilla folders on it, names written in marker to indicate whose is whose. The hunters around you rush forward, some pushing into you as they pass by. You sigh, bringing one of your hands to your neck to rub it. They did this every day. Quackity’s voice booms above you as he speaks. “Everyone else is welcome to breakfast now. Let’s make this day productive, people!” The crowd behind you cheers as you reach the empty table, taking the folder in your empty hand. Your eyes scan the folder, your name written neatly like the rest.
The two across from you at the table stay quiet as they watch you, both glaring, but the man’s softer. You look up from it at them, sending them a nod as you make your way to your room. You hold it with two hands now, seeing how the folder is thicker than the others you had previously received. As you go to flip open the top, a hand finds itself on your shoulder.
“Ayyy, Y/n.” You groan internally as the hand pats you twice before retreating. You turn around to face Quackity, giving him a forced smile. “Quackity. A pleasure to see you.” He was always a pain to deal with in person. “8-Ball today? What happened to the prosthetic Mr. Andrews found last week?” His lips quirk up into a grin, the white circle of the 8-Ball in his right eye looking straight through you. It was… unnerving. He chuckled, bringing his hand up to motion for you to follow him as he turns around.
You’re hot on his heels as you walk behind him, walking towards his office. “It was irritating, I’ll be honest. This one has some kinda... intimidating aura to it, don’t you think?” You hum at him, folder pressed to your chest as you walk. Your footsteps are out of sync with him, you notice. You subconsciously try to match them. “You know, talk more with the people here” He tries to tease, looking over his shoulder at you, watching you roll your eyes.
“You know more than anyone they don’t take kindly to me.” You comment, feeling his eyes on you as you look up at him. He sighs exasperatedly, looking ahead as he reaches a metal red door, his pace slowing. You stop behind him as he pulls out a chain with numerous keys on it, a loud clinking coming from it as he looks through them. There had to be over twenty keys on it, if that. He noticed your eyes on it, of course he did. “There are so many damn keys to this place, it’s nuts.”
You hum again, watching as he unlocks the door and clips the chain to his belt once more. He pushes it open with both of his hands, walking in as it begins to shut on you. You hurry and push it open, looking around his office as you step in, closing it behind you. It was pretty minimal, with a few bookshelves, a desk, and a little lounge area in the back. “Nice office.” You comment, following him, bringing the hand holding the folder to your side.
“Yeah, I’ll cut the shit now. That good for you?” That was different, but not surprising. “Yeah, sure.” He stops at his desk, turning and sitting on the ledge, his hands on his knees as he sits up straight. “Pass the folder here, let me show you what you’re dealing with.” You oblige with him, passing him the folder. You look at his hands, his fingers scarred and rough. Interesting.
He flips it open and sets it onto the wooden desk, letting the contents spread across the length of the desk. Several sheets of paper were spread out, pages upon pages of info, the text smaller as to fit more words in the pages. What caught your eye the most, though, was the first sheet of paper. A photograph was clipped to the corner, a semi-blurry image of a pig-like creature. “The… Blade?”
“Bastard is what he is.” Quackity comments, stepping back to let you look down at the papers. He sits on the corner of the desk, hands now placed behind his as he looks over his shoulder at the papers. You take two steps forward, fingers drifting from one page to another. “There seems to be a lot about this one.” You remark, taking a random page in your hands as you read its contents under your breath.
“Upon further inspection, it seems the beast relates to that of a Piglin creature. While they are moderate-level monsters, this one seems to be an evolved breed of them. Its reflexes are quick, and it’s undoubtedly strong. Previous notes about the breed tell that they are very territorial and are naturally aggressive to those who aren’t their breed.”
You can feel Quackity tense beside you, so you call him out on it. “What’s on your mind?” He sighs, but you don’t look at him, eyes still trained on the papers. He’s quiet for a moment, and you almost don’t think he’s going to answer you. But he does. “That asshole was the one who gave me this scar.”
Now that, that surprised you. Your brows raised, then furrowed as you came across a note over the top of one paper. “Says here nobody has survived facing him.” He almost growls at you, you hear the rumble in his throat, but he ends up sighing again. “I was lucky, wasn’t I.”
That’s for damn sure. If what these papers were saying was true, this was the most difficult monster that the group has faced to date. “So, it’s a suicide mission.” You say, swiping the papers back into the folder. They were trying to kill you. He laughs at that. Not his normal, unsettling chuckle, but a hearty laugh. “No no no, you got it all wrong. I think you are the only one that can kill him.”
You stop everything. Your hands come to a halt. Your breathing stops. You stop. “What?” “I said.” He replies, pushing off the desk and leaning close to you, feeling his breath on the shell of your ear. “You are the only person here that can kill him.” Your eye twitches. “Why not Punz? Or, a group of the other hunters? Why am I the one that can kill him?” He smiled, this time it was soft, sincere.
“Because you’re you.”

The Passport
Requested by anon - a picture of your request will be at the bottom of the post! Enjoy! Thanks for requesting!
Pairing: Namjoon x reader
Premise: You embark on a memorable journey in an attempt to return Kim Namjoon’s passport. What lengths will you go to in order to return his passport on time?
Warnings: none, this is literal crackhead fluff lol. emphasis on the crackhead.
Word Count: 3.2k
It all started in the morning. You knew, leaving the house that morning with a skip in your step and the sun shining down on you, that something was off. Something was bound to go wrong.
It wasn’t until 11:30, sitting at brunch with some of your friends, that you caught your first whiff of trouble.
Literally.
Rebecca, one of your oldest friends, had insisted on pretending to be rich and fancy for a day. She’d dragged you and the rest of your friends to a penthouse-like restaurant, commanding you to wear your finest ‘casual wear’, whatever that was supposed to mean.
Long story short, you felt like some sort of avid golf fan in your skirt and blouse. Or maybe a polo fan, cheering on the magnificent horses and their riders.
You were so consumed in your menu and trying to find the cheapest thing they had to offer without looking like a fraud, that you hadn’t noticed the room falling into a quiet buzz of excitement. Hadn’t noticed any sort of change in the air.
Except your nose had.
You unconsciously scooted in closer to the table when out of your peripheral you saw a group of people making their way over to the empty tables nearest you. They shimmied behind you and the table opposite your own, making sure to not interrupt your dining experience. Then you smelled it.
The most wonderful, fresh cologne you’d ever smelled. The smell was light enough that it had you wondering for a moment if you had just imagined the hint of pine, but another sniff confirmed what your nostrils already knew.
Whoever had just entered the fancy, no-good for college budgets restaurant knew exactly what worked for them. And it was that cologne. Naturally, you glanced over to see just who it was that graced your nose with such a beautiful smell.
And that, it the precise moment that you learned that Kim Namjoon, leader of BTS and dimple extraordinaire, smells like roses and pine.
Oh, and the slightest hint of jasmine.
Now, the only problem with that knowledge is the fact that you will never be able to get it out of your head. No longer will Namjoon in blue jeans and a tucked in t-shirt be your greatest weakness, as it had been before. No, that’s ancient history as far as that tantalizing fragrance is concerned.
“Enjoying the view?” Rebecca croons from across the table, ripping your attention away from the man that just took his seat. From this angle, you have the perfect view of those dimples.
The rest of the brunch passes by with little to no incident. The only thing that keeps you from staring at the group that’s CD has a permanent residency in your car’s stereo is the fact that you know your friends will take matters into their own hands if they catch you. Rebecca will surely embarrass you, if only because you’ve done the same thing to her countless times.
Leticia to your right elbows you lightly, grinning. “You know, RM keeps looking over at you.”
Your eyes practically bulge out of their sockets. “It’s not nice to tease!”
“It’s true!” Bianca pipes up a bit too loudly. She covers her mouth, looking embarrassed. “I mean, it’s true!” She whisper shouts. “He can only go about thirty seconds without looking at you. Maybe he’s worried you’re going to choke or something.”
You roll your eyes. “Wow, how considerate of him.”
Munching on a lettuce wrap that costs about the same as your statistics textbook, you nearly choke on it as the group finishes their meal and begins to make their way out of the restaurant. You scoot your chair back in, cursing your reddened cheeks even as you prepare yourself for the onslaught of Namjoon’s cologne again.
“Excuse us,” Namjoon says, the sound of his voice enough to have you staring at Rebecca as though she’s a lifeline. If you can make it through this experience without passing out, you can surely accomplish anything.
“Have a good day!” Bianca chirps, smiling widely. Jung Hoseok - yeah, the sunshine of the world - smiles back.
“Thank you,” he replies. He glances over at you and then, to your eternal horror, he looks at Namjoon with a pointed stare.
“Er...” Namjoon stumbles over his words, looking like he would rather eat the tablecloth than have to say two words to you. You try to hide your disappointment, closing your mouth and opting for a pleasant smile.
It’s the wrong move, honestly. Now you’re stuck smelling in his cologne and wondering how it’s humanly possible for someone to smell so beautiful.
Namjoon fiddles with his sleeves before looking over to you, a lightning bolt jolting your senses at the sudden eye contact.
“You...you’re very pretty.”
In your own defense, your mouth is not the only one that drops open in shock. No, Bianca, Leticia, and Rebecca mirror your state of shock.
Bianca recovers all too quickly, playfully pushing your shoulder as she exclaims, “See! I told you he was staring!”
Fighting the urge to flee the scene, you plaster on your most nonchalant expression and turn back to Namjoon with pink cheeks. You’re relieved to see his own cheeks tinted pink.
“I- thank you!”
At this point all of the boys have paused in their exit, turning to look back at Namjoon with silly grins. Namjoon notices their attention, nodding his head to you and his eyes dropping to stare at the carpet.
“You’re welcome, haveaniceday,” Namjoon spits out, thrusting a napkin into your hands before before turning on his heel and making a beeline for the exit. He shoulders past the members who give him pats on the back and laugh a little at their leader’s shyness.
With one final look over his shoulder and an annoyed sigh at Jin who mumbles a teasing remark to him, Namjoon leaves.
You stare and stare at the exit, your brain short-circuiting as you replay your short exchange over and over again. In your hands sits the napkin - an actual, cloth napkin that is silky soft - marred (or perfected) by Namjoon’s scrawl.
It doesn’t say a single word. Just boasts his phone number.
“What,” you breathe out, still staring at the exit, “just happened?”
Your question seems to break the spell that had your friends mute, and suddenly all four of your burst out into giddy laughter.
“I have no idea,” Rebecca says through her giggles, “But I wish I had that on camera!”
Leticia is the one to notice it first. As the four of you get up to leave, she sees something laying on the seat where Namjoon sat. You know it’s where he sat, because you’ve burned the image into your mind.
You’ve also memorized his phone number. As has Bianca, who read it over your shoulder about seven times before sitting back down in her seat.
“It looks like they left something behind,” Leticia muses, wandering over to their abandoned table. “Oh, no way!” She bursts out into laughter, pointing down at the chair.
The rest of us scramble over just in time to see Leticia hoist the item up into the air.
It’s a passport.
Rebecca grabs your arm, looking at me with wide eyes. “This is a sign! I swear, it’s a sign!”
You frown at her, rubbing at the sore spot from where she’s grabbed a hold of you. “What do you mean? How is this a sign? Have you lost it?”
“No, I get what she’s saying!” Bianca shouts, drawing the attention of anyone that hasn't noticed the commotion yet. “He gave you his number, and now you have the perfect reason to text him! And see him again!”
You snort in disbelief even though your heart is nearly pounding out of your chest. “...right. Because people just leave their passports lying around as calling cards these days.”
Leticia flips through the passport, eyes widening at all of the stamps. “I mean...this is Kim Namjoon we’re talking about. Doesn’t he lose his passport all the time?”
“Exactly, so I-”
“So you need to return it to him,” Rebecca interrupts, smiling devilishly. “C’mon. Text him and tell him. He’s probably freaking out right now.”
You groan, but know that you should. Pulling your phone out, you ignore your friends’ cheers. “If I embarrass myself, so help me...”
You text him.
Or rather, you begin to type out some form of message before groaning and throwing your phone at Rebecca. Naturally, she grabs your phone and types out a message, sending it off before you can even get a look at it.
In your despair and agony (yes, you’re aware that you often overreact), you don’t realize what’s transpired until the girls are squealing over Namjoon’s response.
“Look, look!” Rebecca yells, thrusting your phone toward your face. “Isn't he so cute?!”
Kim Namjoon 😱😍: I’m so sorry, I can’t believe I left that there. Are you available tonight? We could meet up somewhere? Sorry again for the inconvenience.
You groan, snatching your phone back. “Ugh, you people. Can’t even function over a simple text.”
“Oh, you’re one to talk,” Leticia chides. “Weren’t you the one going on about how good he smells for the past thirty minutes?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” You do.
Me: Sure, that’s fine!
Me: Where do you need me to go?
You’ve all piled into the back of Leticia’s car by the time Namjoon responds. What he says makes your jaw drop for the second time that day.
Kim Namjoon 😱😍: About that...do you know where the Grammy’s are being held tonight?
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“What?” Leticia asks, looking back at in through the rear view mirror. “What did he say?”
You furiously type out a response, heart rate picking up. “Umm...I forgot that the Grammy’s were happening tonight.”
Me: I think so...why?
“It sounds like he wants to meet there...?”
Kim Namjoon 😱😍: I’ll get you a backstage pass, if you’re alright with it. Some of the staff will be there to help you out, you can leave the passport with them.
Your heart sinks a little. “But it sounds like I’ll just be meeting with his staff. Makes sense, I guess. He’ll be busy and - what?”
Bianca and Rebecca are staring me down, and you can practically see the gears shifting in their minds.
“Why don’t we get you ready for this little rendezvous?” Bianca asks, rubbing her hands together like some evil villain.
“But I’m not even going to see him,” You protest. “And I’m just going backstage! Nobody is going to see me.”
“Doubt it,” Rebecca states. “He just doesn’t want to freak you out. He’ll be there. I’m sure of it. And when he sees you...”
“He’ll think I look ridiculous!” You shout, staring at your reflection in the mirror with disgust. “This is horrible.”
Indeed, the gaudy red dress was a bit too much. Even the consultant of the shop appeared inclined to agree with you.
“You’re right,” Leticia sighed. “Try on the next one.”
It hadn’t taken too much convincing to get you to go to the nearest dress store, you friends absolutely positive that you would see Namjoon tonight. When you did, he was sure to be dressed to the nine’s. You just didn’t want to look too out of place.
Casually formal.
If that’s a thing.
So far, it’s been a nightmare trying to find a suitable dress. Most have been bordering on junior prom vibes, however you try to cling to hope as you try on the next dress.
It’s a beautiful black dress with flowers stitched onto the lace overlay. The black slip falls to your knees, the overlay brushing against your calves.
When you exit the room, it’s easy to tell that this one is going to be the favorite. Especially once Rebecca chuckles under her breath.
“Oh, he’s gonna freak.”
One purchase and makeover later, you smile at your reflection in the mirror. You went for a more natural look, your hair falling in gentle curls and light makeup bringing out your eyes. You’re just slipping on your shoes when you get a text from Namjoon.
Kim Namjoon 😱😍: Ok, I hope you’re still ok to meet up! I’m so sorry again. I’ll send over the link for your pass. They’ll just scan it at the main entrance and then again at entrance 3. Sound good?
You take a deep breath, looking to your friends for support. They nod encouragingly, Leticia clutching her keys. All four of you will drive over. Hopefully they’ll manage to keep you sane on the ride over.
Me: Sounds perfect. And really, don’t worry about it. It happens to the best of us.
You’ve barely gotten into the car when Namjoon sends you the link as well as another message.
Kim Namjoon 😱😍: You know, if you leave right now there should be a few refreshments leftover from our staff. ;) Let me know when you get here!
“Oh, this man is going to be the death of me.”
The entire area where the Grammy’s are being held are packed with cars and fans clambering to get a look at their favorite celebrities on the red carpet. The red carpet interviews have only just begun, and you can’t help but wonder if Namjoon and the rest of the boys are out there already.
Smoothing out your dress, you can’t decide if you want them to be or not. Your heart is pounding from the overload of excitement and nerves.
With shaking hands your extend the barcode Namjoon sent you to the security at the main entrance and again at the 3rd. Once the car has been parked, you send a message off to Namjoon letting him know that you’ve arrived. Chances are he’s on the red carpet and isn’t going to see it, but at least you did what he asked.
“We’ll be right here when you’re finished!” Rebecca calls out as you clamber out of the car. You can’t help but laugh, feeling like a little kid being dropped off for school.
“You look freaking hot!” Bianca shouts, making you rush away and into the hallway crowded with people.
You follow the signs plastered up on the walls, pointing you toward BTS. Hopefully there are some people that will know you’re coming-
“Joon, we’ve really got to get out there now,” a voice you recognize as J-hope drifts over to you as you make your way toward an open door.
“I know,” Namjoon’s voice replies, and just like that your stomach is filled with butterflies tying impressive knots in your stomach. “But she just texted saying she’s here. I feel like it’s rude to just leave her to see the staff and not thank her in person.”
Jin’s voice is loud and clear. “Don’t lie to us. We all know that you just want to see her again. I’m starting to think you left your passport on purpose.”
You hold your breath, willing your cheeks to go back to a normal color. It does’t work.
“Ok boys, 5 more minutes. Tops. You’ve really got to get going, people are waiting.” Someone says over their shoulder as they step out of the room. They’re eyes almost immediately land on you, going a little wide. “Oh, are you here with the passport?”
Everyone seems to quiet down inside of the room, but a few harsh whispers and some footsteps later Namjoon is popping his head out of the door. As soon as he sees you his eyes light up even as he turns a little red.
“You made it!” He grins. “And wow. You look...”
You look down at your dress, fidgeting under the sudden attention. “A little out of place, I know. I didn’t know if it was ok to show up just in casual wear, so this is kinda what happened.”
Namjoon steps out into the hallway, and you swear you can hear Jungkook whining about how he wanted to see what’s happening. He’s quickly shushed by the others.
You’re engulfed by that same smell as this morning, and it takes everything in your willpower not to close your eyes and breathe it in. Namjoon must have barely reapplied his cologne.
“I was going to say you look stunning.” Now arriving just a step away from you, Namjoon smiles softly down at you. “Absolutely stunning.”
Your hands shake as you are at a loss for words, rummaging around your purse until you produce Namjoon’s passport. Staring at his tie and nowhere else, you extend it to him.
“H-here you go.”
As if trying to kill you right then and there, Namjoon’s fingers linger over your own as he takes the passport, quietly thanking you. “Um, this may sound a little strange but...”
You look up at him, a bit distracted by the way his hair is styled away from his face. Only a couple of thick strands kiss his forehead, making him look like he just stepped out of a novel.
Namjoon’s eyes dance over your face, clearly displaying his nerves. At least you’re not the only one.
“What is it?” You ask.
“Well, if you’re not busy tonight...would you maybe want to stay?” You barely stop yourself from passing out, digging your nails into your palm to ground yourself. Namjoon chews on the inside of his cheek. “Our staff have reserved seats by us, and we’re planning on ordering some food after-”
“Yes.” You blurt out the word before Namjoon can finish speaking, but he doesn’t mind. In fact, he looks positively relieved at your interruption.
“Really?” He swallows, playing with his cufflinks even as he stares into your eyes. “I don’t want to pressure you or anything...”
You shake your head, but stop. “I would love to, but...I actually have my friends that dropped me off waiting for me in the parking lot. I can’t make them wait for me like that-”
Now Namjoon cuts you off. “They can come too! And invite them to eat with us after! Really, the more the merrier!”
You blink up at this man, completely floored. “But, they don’t have dresses.”
Checking a watch that you’re sure costs more than your entire year’s rent, Namjoon thinks for a moment before looking back at you. You can’t help but grin at the way his eyes sweep over your figure and face again.
Bianca was right. You do look freaking hot.
“Do you think they could go change and be back within two hours?”
You mull it over, pulling your phone out and shooting off a text to Rebecca. “I bet they could, with the right motivation. But are you sure that’s alright?”
Namjoon smiles broadly at you. “Oh yeah. It’s more than alright.” He hesitates, rocking back on his heels. “So...you’ll stay?”
You return his smile. “I’ll stay.”
“Great!” Jin’s voice rings out into the hallway, making you jump. “Now will you bring her in here so we can warn her about how weird you are, Namjoon? We’ve only got so much time.”
Laughing at the expression of long-suffering on Namjoon’s face, you take the arm he extends to you. Before you walk through the door to meet the rest of the members, you lean up on your tippy-toes to whisper something to Namjoon. He cranes his neck, listening to your every word.
"Thanks for losing your passport.”
Namjoon smiles sheepishly, and every thought eddies out of your brain as his adorable dimples make an appearance. “My pleasure.”

Liam was used to filling in for Leo at a moment’s notice; participating in conference calls with ambassadors for early morning updates when Leo overslept, and attending meetings with ministers when Leo went AWOL. He’d grown accustomed to his brother’s antics, but he wondered how Bastien managed to keep his position, when he’d lost track of Leo’s whereabouts countless times.
While Leo spent more time avoiding his duties as Crown Prince of Cordonia, Liam dutifully took on the extra responsibilities in stride. It often meant partitioning his already packed schedule to sit in on vital cabinet meetings or dining with visiting dignitaries, but sometimes Leo’s vanishing acts gave Liam the opportunity to travel.
Though their ambassadors handled the majority of day-to-day relations with other countries for trade, Constantine preferred to meet face-to-face when he could. One such time, a lingering cough turned to walking pneumonia, restricting Constantine to as much bed rest as possible. It also meant sending Leo to Japan for a meeting with the Prime Minister in his stead.
It would have been fine, if Leo hadn’t pulled another one of his disappearing acts.
--
A week later, Liam was seated on the royal jet on his way back from Tokyo, navy attache with espresso brown leather trim in the chair next to him. Across from him, Maxwell chatted with Anya over various Thai dishes. On the other side of the plane, Drake was in a heated discussion with leggy blonde Anitah while the ladies’ petite friend Donna observed in silence, fighting back a grin. “You’re an imbecile if that’s your opinion,” Anitah declared, raising her hands up in the air. “Are you sure that’s the hill you wanna die on?”
Drake smugly sipped from the crystal tumbler in his hand. “I’m right and you know it.”
“What are you two talking about?” Liam asked, relieved to think about anything other than what was in the bag and why it was so important he hand deliver it to his father.
“Fight Club being a better cinematic masterpiece than The Princess Bride,” Drake replied. “You guys agree, right? If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, you’d want to watch Tyler Durden fight the system instead of some…” he paused to sneer at Anitah, who crossed her arms and stuck out her tongue at him, “...story about a swashbuckler rescuing a princess? She’s not even a real princess!”
“Fight Club is such a guy movie though,” Anya argued, turning in her seat to face Drake. “Princess Bride appeals to men and women, with a much larger audience.”
“Okay, that’s two for Buttercup,” Drake sighed. “Maxwell? Li?” He looked at his friends expectantly.
“Fight Club, definitely,” Maxwell said, nodding his head. He’d spent the better part of the trip doing everything to get into Drake’s good graces after the octopus incident on the first night in Tokyo.
Before Liam could respond, a commotion from the front of the plane made everyone’s heads turn, where a pair of Kings Guards and two flight attendants were seated near the galley. One of the guards slipped into the cockpit, rushing out a moment later in Liam’s direction, as the jet slowly tilted to the right. “Apologies, Your Highness. Do you or any of your guests happen to speak Triydalian?”
Anya slowly raised her hand. “I knew a bit when I was a kid, but I haven’t used it in years.”
The guard motioned for her to join him. “Please come with us, miss. The pilots need a translator.”
“Is everything alright, Remy?” Liam peered past the guard, eyes widening at the sight of the other guard and one attendant hovering in front of the other attendant in a chair.
“We need to land the plane, Sir,” Remy answered, ushering Anya up from her seat. “Ramona passed out. She’s breathing but unresponsive.”
--
Twenty minutes later and after a jarring landing, they’d arrived at a small airport in the Republic of Triydalia, at the edge of one of the country’s many jungle forests. Calling it an airport was generous - it was more of a cleared dirt path in the middle of the jungle with a shack for an airport tower, and a man that looked like more of a hunter than an air traffic controller. After a choppy conversation that required pantomiming and hand signals, Anya left with Remy and the man from the tower to fetch a tribal doctor, while Anitah and Donna assisted the other member of the cabin crew to look after Ramona. They were warned to remain as quiet as possible and to stay inside the jet.
Minutes passed by in tense observation; Anitah and Drake continued their debate in low whispers, growing louder as they defended their choices. Liam could see the pilots discussing something pointedly as they checked readings on the instrument panel and worked on calculations. One of them stepped out, claiming that he needed to stretch his legs, and walked cautiously down the runway. When he returned, the other pilot joined him outside, despite the original warning to stay inside. Liam peered out the windows and checked his watch, worrying about Anya and Remy, along with his father’s instructions to avoid delaying their return.
While the remaining guard headed towards the back of the plane to pace back and forth for the eighth time, Liam took it upon himself to speak with the pilots. The air was thick and stifling the moment he stepped outside. Around them, there was nothing but green, green, and more green from the wilderness that surrounded them, abuzz with tropical birds and insects. At his side he carried the blue attache, remembering the promise to his father that the bag wouldn’t leave his sight. He spoke in a hushed tone when he approached the pilots. “You’re doing more than just stretching your legs, aren’t you, Captain?”
Both men grimaced slightly. “Yes, Your Highness. Even if we pulled back to one end of the runway, we’re still at least five hundred feet short of clearing takeoff.”
“What if we worked to try and clear the brush on either end?” Liam offered, looking off into the distance.
“There’s no way to clear out the trees, even the young ones,” the co-captain answered. “We might be able to take off if we could drop some weight, but the larger concern is the longer we wait, we increase the risk of encountering someone who doesn’t want us here.”
Liam nodded gravely; months of civil unrest in Triydalia meant rebel groups assembled faster than the government could contain them. There was no guarantee of anyone’s safety, stranded on a remote runway. There was no telling what was wrong with Ramona while she was unconscious, and therefore no way to treat her without the aid of a doctor. Ensuring the safety of the crew and his friends could have been avoided altogether if Leo didn’t constantly opt out of handling the duties of his station. In that moment, Liam abhorred the never-ending list of responsibilities thrust at him as a result of having to pick up the slack for his brother, knowing if their roles were reversed, Leo would manage to find a way to leave Liam to solve problems on his own.
“Could you excuse me for a moment?”
He’d barely finished asking the question before walking into the tall grass by the edge of the runway. Ignoring the pilots’ calls to return, Liam sprinted into the dense greenery, dodging between vines and scanning the ground for tripwires until he could no longer see the plane over his shoulder. When he finally stopped running, he bent over, hands on his knees as he gulped in air. Liam looked down at the blue bag in his hand, wondering what on earth was so precious to reduce him to a courier.
Shaking the bag did nothing; it felt practically empty, though he could tell something was inside. He couldn’t open the bag to check, since Prime Minister Abe and his father were the only ones with keys, and PM Abe handed him the sealed bag when they parted ways. Liam wanted to throw the infernal “murse” the ladies had good-naturedly teased him for into the bushes. Perspiration dotted his hairline, and he let out a primal scream, before taking slow, deep breaths to quiet the worrisome thoughts racing in his head and bring his heartbeat down to normal.
Cursed courier bag in his right hand, Liam braced his arm against his torso, pinning it in place with his elbow when he bent his other arm up towards his face. Curling his fingers into a relaxed fist, he pressed his lips against his thumb, thick brows furrowing in thought. All around him, wild birds called to one another amidst the chittering clamor of insects hidden in the foliage. He was so busy running through scenarios in his head that he didn’t hear the quiet click of a camera, turning to look up only when he heard a branch snap in the distance.
“Watch it! You’re gonna get us busted!” Donna hissed to Drake. She pocketed her phone, elbowing Drake in the ribs as they crouched behind large leaves. She ticked her head in Liam’s direction. “Go get your boy, none of us are safe out here.”
After some coaxing, Liam headed back to the plane with Donna and Drake, walking briskly through the jungle, eyes trained to look for anything out of the ordinary. Liam was alarmed when he heard and then saw the engines running, until Drake explained the pilots were burning off fuel to lighten the plane. They’d begun to walk up the steps, when Maxwell popped out above them. “Whoo!” Maxwell exclaimed, digging for another snack from the container he cradled in his arm. “Feels like a sauna out here!”
“Lower your voice, Maxwell! Please!” Liam seethed. His features pinched together in disbelief. “Are you...eating? Now?”
“You know I stress snack,” Maxwell replied, shrugging his shoulders. He shoved another cookie into his mouth.
Liam’s eyes lit up and he took the stairs two by two, knocking on the cockpit door before swinging it open. “What if we unloaded whatever’s not bolted down? The decor, dinnerware, the food and drink?”
“That...would certainly help,” the captain replied, looking back over his shoulder. He turned to his co-pilot. “It could be enough to get in the air after burning off the excess fuel.”
“You heard the man, Maxwell,” Liam said, offering his friend a nervous grin. “Get Drake to help you start unloading the plane. Has Ramona’s status changed?”
“Donna found the first aid kit just before she took off with Drake to go after you. Anitah found some smelling salts that gave her a rude wakeup call. Turns out her insulin pump shorted and she just needed some juice.”
Several more minutes passed as the group removed whatever they could from the plane, leaving piles of cookware, food, throw pillows, and even seat cushions to lighten the load. Drake whined when they gathered up the liquor, but he stuffed a bottle of whiskey in a cabinet by his seat. They’d nearly finished when Anya and Remy returned, running on foot. “That thing better be ready to take off!” Anya hollered, motioning for everyone to board. “Rebels on our tail! Time to go!”
Everyone scrambled back onto the plane; Liam relayed the urgency to depart to the pilots, who rapidly went through their flight checklist. Remy pulled Anya up onto the steps and they all clamored to buckle into their seats, the sound of gunfire in the air as the jet rolled forward and lurched up into the air, barely clearing the canopy.
Adrenaline pumping and breaths shallow, Liam looked around at his friends and the crew, thankful they were safely in the air again.
--
Liam thought he was having a stroke at twenty-four when he saw the contents of the bag. Constantine smiled with glee at the small gold cat, one paw raised.

Relief
Paz Vizsla x fem!reader
masterlist
Summary: “I know that we’re strangers but something really awful has happened to me and I need you.”
A/N: highly recommend listening to “everything i wanted” by billie eilish before reading because that is just the vibe.
Warnings: angst, ruminating, lots of dialogue, mourning the death of a parent, deals with depression and anxiety, soft!paz, a big brute with an even bigger heart
Word Count: 11k (oops)
---------------------
“Death changes people, it brings some people together, pushes other people apart...” You remember your buir’s words as if they were spoken to you just yesterday. They were the words he said on the day of your mothers funeral. “...but you and I, we do not let such things hurt us. We are stronger together, my ad’ika, we can only get through this together. Yes?”
“Okay, buir.” You said. Your wide, 5 year old eyes not fully comprehending the situation.
He nodded, pained, and whispered, “That’s a good girl,” before leaving a gentle kiss on your forehead and departing to the ceremony, your small form in tow.
He was right, death did change people. You remember seeing him in pure agony, as much as he tried to hide it from you. Your aunts and uncles would always be over, consoling him, distracting you, oftentimes just having you stay with them so your father could grieve away from your eyes.
But he never let it hurt your relationship. No, he was the best buir anyone could dream of. Your buir.
He was a proud man, respected and admired by all the warriors in the covert. Fierce, honorable, diligent and selfless. He would and did do anything for anyone. And the tribe respected him immensely. They even elected for him to be the Alor on more than one occasion, and he practically was. But he refused the title again and again, preferring to do all the work without carrying any official status. Even so, he certainly inherited the same amount of respect that the actual Alor had.
“All of the privilege and none of the responsibility.” He would tease, winking at you as the two of you would sneak out of the kitchens or any other ‘off-limits’ part of the covert, everyone turning a blind eye to your buir and ad’ika antics. Mainly just because they respected him too much to chastise you.
Truly though, he was a very respectable man. He trained the little ones, led hunts and security protocols for the covert, found lost Mandalorians and brought them home to the tribe. He dedicated his life to building the strongest and most operational covert that Mandalorians had seen in years. And he did it all for you. All so that you would have a safe place to grow up, so that you would lose as few brothers and sisters, and as few aunts and uncles as possible. So that you wouldn’t lose anyone just as suddenly as you’d lost your mother.
But he never prepared you for the day you would lose him.
The two of you were unimaginably close, so close that now you regretted ever developing a relationship that strong with him even if he was your father, because look at what it got you.
How were you supposed to go on? What was your life without your buir? What was this covert without your buir?
You look around the room, dozens and dozens of armored warriors here to pay their respects to your father, his body already having been buried. The tears leak out of your eyes without reserve as you hold tightly to your friend's hand, scanning the room for the comfort of your boyfriend. “He’ll be here soon” She whispers, though you sense doubt in her voice, “I’m sure of it.”
------------------------
You’re not sure what time it is, only that you’ve spent yet another restless night collecting tears in your pillow. Your booted feet pad down the deserted hallway of the covert. It’s aboveground, hidden beneath the treelines of a dense forest on a nearly desolate planet. It’s beautiful, unlike most every other secret covert that exists, though very few do. It has bulletproof glass paneling all around to allow for light to peek in through the trees. It’s warm and inviting instead of cold and gloomy.
“We need a home. Not a prison.” Buir had said.
You wince, face contorting in pain at the memory of him sharing the design with you. He had a dream. He wanted to live the way he used to, on Mandalore. Embracing nature and training warriors in the traditional way. He wanted your small tribe to grow into the hundreds. And that it did, well, to just over a hundred at least.
The most recent tribe came in from Nevarro, about seven months ago. He’d managed to track them down and get into contact with their Alor. Though some members of their tribe were reluctant to merge- they always are- they soon decided to join forces with your own, strengthening your numbers. Plus, they got to move to a much more beautiful, safe, and spacious planet.
Regrettably, you hadn’t gotten to know many members of the new tribe still. They were...different. Still pleasant from the interactions you’d had with them at least, good sense of humor and all, but they were devoted to the old ways of Mandalore, conservative, reserved, passionate. Most unusually they didn’t arrive with any women in their tribe, aside from their Alor. For some reason odd, universal reason, Mandalorian women were hard to come by. It was a troubling issue that distressed many people in the tribe, in any tribe. It felt like a curse on your people. But this tribe literally had only one. They obviously cherished and admired her immensely, they made her their Alor.
Also, their creed didn’t allow for them to remove their helmets, a drastic difference from the one you had sworn that didn’t even require you wear your armor all the time, though you and most everyone almost always did. You were still Mandalorian; Training, honor, armor...they were still as big a part of you as your soul was to your body. But everyone around here knew your face, and vice versa, even if you did spend most of your life behind the shield.
This week however, you couldn't bring yourself to put it on once. Hell, you didn’t even bother with your flight suit. You just stayed locked up in your tiny room all day and night, only leaving when you were forced out by your friends. “It’s for your own good,” they would say. You suppose they were right, but no matter how good of friends they were to you right now, their company seemed to make it all worse.
A part of you wanted Collin, your boyfriend of two years, but he seemed to disappear from sight every time you caught his eye, an action that made your friend, Brie, chase after him in a rage the last time. He had been so blatantly obvious. You were in tears, yet again, mourning your father, yet again, when you caught the flash of his grey armor slip past your crying form in the common room. The hurt you had felt was unimaginable. The betrayal. You know that your relationship was strained as of late, but this, the death of your father, how could he not be around for you? Even if just as a friend?
So here you were. Another sleepless night, another late hour gone by without the noisy comfort of the of the tribe at work. Your head was pounding from the tears, the dehydration and the pain. The kriffing pain.
This time you couldn’t do it. You couldn't stay trapped within the dark walls of your room any longer, quickly pulling on something decent to wear in the late night or early hours of the morning- you didn’t know what time it was- before mindlessly wandering the covert.
Empty. It must be smack in the middle of the night. Well, at least you could sulk freely, allow the tears to escape without worrying about what a blubbering mess you must look like. A part of you was thankful, this was...kind of nice? There was nobody hovering around you. No visors following your every move in pity or concern, waiting to catch you when you break. You did pass one or two guards patrolling the halls, but you avoided them as best you could, hoping to avoid being questioned.
You finally take a moment to sit, hiding yourself beside some phony shrub in the corner. You’ve wandered to the dining hall. You look around, hoping to distract yourself with the silent chatter of the five or so warriors lounging around, probably on break from late night duties. Your eyes finally resting on a group of three of your vods sitting around, talking. They’re from the new tribe, well, most recently new.
You don’t know any of them particularly well, least of all the heavy infantry warrier whose figure commands your attention. He spends most of his time with the higher ups or teaching the foundlings, and you fall somewhere there in the middle. But he’s broad and robust and by maker if he doesn't captivate your attention.
You listen to the quiet echoes bouncing around the spacious dining hall. There’s hardly anybody here, it must be so early. You groan, to you it just feels unbearably late.
You don’t know how long you sit here, hidden behind the leaves of the plant, hazy eyes focused on the blue warrior. You just sit, staring, he’s...peaceful to observe. His arms are crossed over his chest, leaned back comfortably against his chair. He huffs at something one of his brothers says, you can barely hear it, but you see the shake of his shoulders before he adjusts his posture and a small smile pulls at your own lips for some reason.
You shake your head. Is this wrong? You think, averting your eyes away from Paz’s form. You feel guilty for some reason, you mind reminding you of Collin. The guilt impacts you painfully for a moment, adding to the feelings of loss and exhaustion before you shake the thoughts away.
No. You think, eyes squeezing shut at the new wave of emotion hurting your already distraught mind. I’m just people watching. Not admiring. This is allowed. This actually feels...kind of nice, it’s allowed.
You permit your gaze to return to Paz and his friends, watching them nod at another couple of Mandos who pass by.
There was something so...comforting about Paz. You don't even know how you can think that? You don’t know him.
You watch his attention shift to his boots which are sprawled out in front of him, heels resting on the hard floor. He kicks his feet out a little bit, watching them wiggle from their movements. His action again tugging the teeniest of smiles to your lips.
You feel a small and brief glimmer of warmth in your chest, though quickly replaced by a pain that pinches from your gut to the back of your throat. Tears gloss over your vision before you’re able to fight them away with slow, deep breaths. It feels as though your body is chastising you for daring to feel a degree of happiness so suddenly.
No. You cower away from the invisible being hurting you, eyes squinting shut again.
You yearn for the slight relief and warmth to return. You need it. It just...feels so damn hard to breathe like this.
The anxiety, the fear, the distress. It just won’t leave you alone.
You don’t even realize what you’re doing until you’re already out in the open. You’d abruptly stood from your hiding spot and started walking toward the source of relief, before nearly choking on air realizing what you were doing.
Holy shit, you gasp, It’s too late to stop walking. You’re already out in the open, and you’ve made it well into their field of vision. If you stop, they’ll notice you.
Kriff, kriff, kriff, kriff, kriff.
The anxiety is burning in your chest again. Your steps falter before you stop, you’re not even sure what you’re doing anymore.
What you do know is that now you’ve caught the attention of the Mando sitting next to Paz, whose visor now watches your frozen form in the middle of the hall. Your heart beating loudly in your chest as you stand there motionless, eyes wide and breathing faltering at having been detected.
You must look absolutely deranged.
But of course, it had to get worse. Noticing the stillness of their friend, the other two shift their attention to see what’s silenced him.
Three visors. There are now three visors on you. Staring down your shaky, frozen form.
You can’t walk this off, you can’t play it cool. They’re already looking at you, you’ve stood still here now watching them for now who knows how long.
What do you do?
Kriff.
You recoil slightly, crossing your now shaking hands in front of you, hoping they wouldn’t notice your trembling palms.
What the hell is wrong with you? Relax. You’re a Mandalorian, just think.
What is the least horrible way out of this?
Carry it out. Whatever it was that you were doing, whatever mission your subconscious had led you on, just execute it.
You breathe in a shuddery breath, placing one foot out in their direction and hesitating before allowing the other to follow its movements.
Geez, walk much?
It’s so quiet in the empty hall, only 5 or 6 other Mandos out on the other end, so each tap of your feet is as audible as that of a bantha on crackling ice as you make your way to them.
“Okay, vod’ika?” One of them asks kindly. You recognize the maroon helmet from up close. Ramsey?
Ramsey, you think.
You nod slightly, suddenly remembering how out of it you must look. Eyes puffy and red, lips swollen, hair in disarray. You feel even more anxious to desert the mission than before, resigning to just get it over with and face the object of your desire.
“Paz,” you say, internally groaning at how pathetic and fatigued your voice sounds. “May I please speak with you for a moment?”
Kriff, what’s the plan now, di’kut?
The question directed at him takes him aback, but his posture instantly straightens. “Of course,” He says, rising from his seat.
You blink back a little as he stands to his full height. Have you ever been this close to him? Surely not, you would remember the feeling of being towered over like this. Paz hesitates, waiting for your instruction. Osik, were you just brazenly sizing him up right there? Great, and now he must think you’re intimidated by him.
Abort, abort, abort.
He tilts his helmet at you, snapping you out of your thoughts. You move for him to follow, which he does. You try to move as far away from the others as possible without being terribly obvious in hopes that they won’t overhear your conversation.
“Is.. everything alright?” He asks once you’ve guided him a safe distance away.
“Yes.” You say instantly, eyes locked on your hands. “I-I mean, n-no.”
This is weird.
What have you done?
You force your gaze up to meet his, noticing his visor tilt in concern. He no doubt already knows what’s troubling you. Everybody in the covert knows about your father’s passing, there was a ceremony for kriffs sake. Paz was probably there.
Your lip trembles suddenly, embarrassed, and instantly you’re cursing yourself for having put yourself through this. With everything in you, you squeeze your eyes shut and look down, the only way you know you’ll be able to ward off the tears, though you know your conduct is a dead giveaway as to what you’re trying to do.
He says your name, and there it is again, relief. Fleeting and short-lived, but making that one small breath easier to inhale than the rest.
“I’m so sorry,” You whisper in frustration. Opening your eyes to see his feet having moved closer to you than they were before.
Always concerned with the wellbeing of his tribe. You remember. That’s what this big brute is known for anyway, right? You can trust him.
“No,” He says, his tone soft spoken, a sharp contrast to his intimidating form. “Take your time.”
You take a deep breath, nodding your head at the floor before forcing your eyes up once again.
Always maintain eye contact. It’s a show of respect. And you always show your superiors that you respect them. Your dad's words remind you to keep your head level to Paz’s. Or...at least as level as it can be to Paz’s.
The reminder that you are indeed speaking to an alor’ad stirs up new nerves in your belly, you were falling apart in front of a captain. Worse, a Vizsla, Mandalorian royalty.
“Um,” you eventually sputter out, collecting your thoughts. “Well I...I kind of have a weird request.” Your murmur.
Are you going to faint? It feels like you’re going to faint.
“Okay,” He nods to indicate you have his full attention, “What is it?”
“Um,” Your voice wavers, suddenly feeling very shaky and lightheaded again, and incredibly annoyed that you didn’t just opt to put on your helmet for the sake of hiding your face. Only...it makes it really hard to breathe when you already feel like you can’t get enough air. And pulling it off every five minutes to clean your face of newly gathered tears was difficult.
He says your name again, this time slowly raising a hand to your shoulder. You exhale in relief when you’re met by his touch. “Hey,” He says, “It’s okay, what do you need?”
You take another calming breath, soothed by the weight of his hand that hasn’t left your shoulder. “Well first, are-are you busy today?”
What a stupid question, you think. He ranks high up in the chain of command, of course he’s busy. Not to mention, it’s probably, what, 5 a.m. right now? And he’s sitting in the dining hall. He certainly didn’t wake up this early because he didn’t have something to do.
“Not at all.” He assures with a shake of his helmet.
Sure.
You dismiss the obvious lie, staring his blue visor straight on. You can see your pathetic, teary-eyed reflection staring back at you in the space where his eyes would be.
He wants you to tell him what’s wrong, you remind yourself, just do it.
Using what remaining courage you have, you open your mouth to speak. “I...I know you don’t know me that well. I don’t really...know you either. I-I don't even know why I’m here asking you this right now. But, um, my-” you choke on your words, confidence diminishing “-my dad is dead, and I’m hurting and afraid and feeling completely unlike myself. I don’t know when the last time I slept was or if I’ve eaten anything in the last couple of days. I just know that-that something really awful has happened to me and I know y-you and I we-we’re practically strangers but right now I just n-need someone and I r-really want that person to be you-”
You hadn’t even realized the flood of tears gushing down your cheeks or the defeated sobs suddenly shaking your body until you were pulled into a pair of arms, his arms.
Strong, protective, shielding arms.
You hear the gentle sounds of Paz shooshing you, his hand pressed to the back of your head and cradling you in a comforting manner.
“I’ve got you, cyar’ika.” He hums, voice light and sweet like honey.
You almost don't mind the heavy sobs racking your body for a moment.
Sweetheart. He called you sweetheart.
You feel his body stir above you, either looking around or else...motioning something to someone. “Hey,” He whispers, keeping your head tucked into his arm, “Come over here with me.”
He guides you away from the dining hall where no doubt, despite your best efforts, whoever was in there had both seen and heard you throw your fit. At the very least catching your sobs at the end.
Ushering you around the corner to an empty hallway, he helps you down on a bench, sitting next to you. Your sobs slowly subsiding to small sniffles under the gloved hand moving soothing circles up and down your back.
He doesn’t say anything for a while, allowing you time to gather yourself. Once the wobbliness in your breathing evens out to a calmer, drawn out, pace, he asks again, “What can I do, vod’ika? I’ll help you, just tell me what you need?”
You nod your head, electing not to rub the abused skin around your eyes that was being continuously irritated by tears. “Could you maybe, stay with me today?” You ask timidly.
“Yes,” He responds instantly, “Yes, of course. Wh-what would you like to do? How can we...divert your attention?” He attempts to sidetrack the word distract, acknowledging that his word choice probably doesn’t make much a difference. “Is there anything on your agenda today?”
“N-no.” You sniff. “All my responsibilities this week were redistributed to other people. I have nothing to do.”
He hums, considering your words.
“But um,” you offer, “I suppose it would be good to take a shower.” You chuckle lifelessly, tugging at the unwashed ends of your hair.
You see his form tense beside you, and your eyes widen in horror in realising your error.
“O-oh maker, no. I was kidding, cause I’m a mess and all that’s - kriff - that’s not at all what I was insinuating-” You panic, fumbling for words.
He chuckles lowly beside you, raising a hand up to ease your stammering, “No, it’s okay. I understand. Allow me to...escort you then?”
“To the-” You swallow, cheeks no doubt pinkened by the encounter, “You really don’t have to I wasn’t seri-”
“Self-care is important.” He says, rising to his feet. “It’s the start of a new day, and it’s early enough that you’ll likely have the entire washroom to yourself. C’mon,” He extends an arm out to you. You contemplate taking it for a moment, briefly, again, considering Collin.
Who isn’t here.
“Really?” You ask, stunned both by his willingness to wait outside the washroom while you shower and his consideration of your privacy.
He lifts his elbow again in response. You rise from your seated position, hand hesitantly grabbing a hold of his arm as he lowers it back towards his side, making the gesture less obvious to prying eyes.
You hold onto the crease of his elbow, your other hand mindlessly joining your other so that you practically hang onto him. He tugs you forward, and you begin walking at a comfortable pace.
“Thank you,” You say, sounding stunned again. “I...I can’t imagine that when you woke up this morning you thought you’d be babysitting a stranger.” You mumble, embarrassed.
He huffs, “You are not a stranger,” then he says your name, again. Honey, pure honey.
“You are a member of my tribe,” He continues, “Even though we do not know each other well, I still care about you.”
You blink back your surprise at his words. This man truly is honorable. Caring and considerate and selfless. A big brute with an even bigger heart. You can’t stop yourself from looking up at him, nearly gaping at his words. “You care about me?” You ask.
He hums, looking at your wide eyes staring up at him.
“You don’t even know me.” You mutter as he looks away. You can’t possibly care about someone who you don’t know.
“I’m observant.”
You hesitate, feeling another foreign feeling flutter in your belly.
“Observant?” You challenge.
His visor looks back down at you, your puffy eyes swimming with curiosity. You want him to prove it.
He takes a tentative breath, hoping you’ll allude his suspiciously observant behaviors of you with the fact that he was trained to be hyper aware of his surroundings. He speaks slowly, “Your favorite food is vegetable pie, probably because it’s a main course, but also sweet. You like to busy yourself with your hands, often tinkering with whatever small, broken objects you manage to find around the covert. Every morning, you head to the training room early to run your own drills and stretch before everyone else arrives. You have a boyfriend, Collin I believe, who you like to align your chores with so you can do them together, except for cleaning the kitchens, which you always try to switch off with somebody else.”
Your eyes stare unblinkingly at his profile. “How-how do you know that?”
“Because kitchen duty is always crossed out under your name on the chores chart, and a different chore is always handwritten underneath.” He says, unable to contain an amused laugh. He opts to only remark on the last of his observations.
You slow to a stop, feeling suddenly incredibly ashamed. “Wow,” You say in admiration. “I-”
You can’t think of anything to say in response, you don’t know anything about him. And here he was telling you that not only does he care for you simply as a member of his tribe, but he actually knows things about you.
You’re overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness, “Paz- I’m...I’m ashamed to say that I don’t even know what your favorite color is.”
He barks out a laugh, surprising you. “Are you concerned with what my favorite color is, cyar’ika?”
“Yes.” You answer, perhaps a silly amount of gravity. “Upon hearing all the things you know about me that most others don't, I mean I’m...I’m touched Paz.”
His tilts his head, visor lingering on your face a moment, and you’re sure that while it was a somewhat silly conversation, he can see the annoying little pools of water that gathered in your eyes again.
He’s silent for a moment. “My favorite color is brown,” He says.
“Brown.” You reflect.
He nods, “It’s warm, soothing.”
“Okay,” You say, hand reaching for his elbow again. “Brown. I’ll remember that.” You squeeze his sleeve in promise.
“I’m sure you will,” He smiles. Or at least you think he does. It sure sounds like he does.
You continue walking on in silence, only passing one other vod in the spacious hall. You’re fairly certain that the Mando approaching does a double take as he sees you clinging to the heavy infantry warrior, but Paz just gives him a nod as you pass in silence. It’s still terribly early. Or late, to you at least. For it to be early you would have had to have slept in the first place.
Your pace is slow, and you wonder if Paz notices the utter exhaustion plaguing your body.
Oh. He must, you think upon catching a reflection of yourself.
Kriff, you look about as good as you feel.
He stops outside your room so you could run in and bag some clothes, before you venture down to the washrooms. You walk comfortably in silence, despite having enjoyed some distracting conversation with him, it feels like the most you’ve spoken all week, and it was tiring, though not unpleasant.
“Could I, ask you something?” He hesitates, clearing his throat. Noting that you keep your eyes glued to the space in front of your feet. “Where is your...uh, Collin?”
He should be doing this. Paz reflects. Taking care of you.
You raise your eyebrows at the floor. “Sleeping I’m sure.”
“Well yes,” He says, “But why hasn’t he been, you know...around?”
His brows furrow at his own words. Well done Paz, you di’kut. First the poor girl’s dad dies, then you offend her by asking why her boyfriend hasn’t been taking care of her. Let alone the fact that you just made it known you’ve noticed his absence. That did not come out at all how he wanted it to.
He’s surprised by a little laugh emitting from your lips. Small and half-hearted and barely audible, but by maker if even then it isn’t one of the prettiest sounds he ever heard.
“Cause..” you sigh, searching for the answer. “-cause he’s an asshole.” You mutter, blunt as the truth leaves your lips.
Oh.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have overstepped-”
“It’s okay,” you mumble, “what’s one more thing in my life..”
Paz is silent for a moment. You’re surprised your eyes haven't welled with tears again. Lately it seems like they prefer looking through a blurry lens rather than a clear one. But maybe a part of you expected this with Collin. Your relationship isn’t what it used to be. For the last six months it seems as though his interest in you has slowly diminished. It takes having something fun and interesting for him to seem excited about spending time with you. Cause maker forbid anytime you try to just sit and hang out with him you enjoy yourselves, he’s always got some excuse on hand to get him out of it.
“No,” Paz insists, interrupting your ruminations. “I’m sorry. Perhaps he thought space is what you wanted?”
I think space is what he wanted.
You don’t answer, arriving to the washrooms. Being the only two people in at this hour, the echo of his heavy armor clinks around the wide space. You pass door after door of the enormous shower rooms. Kriff, this is weird. Why was the first thing you thought of when he asked you what you would normally do to shower? I mean sure that was true, but certainly you could have forgone this item on your agenda for the sake of being...proper?
You glance at your passing figure in a mirror and flinch.
Although.
Maybe you...need a shower.
You must have showered within the last few days, right?
“Okay,” Paz says, breaking the silence. “I’ll wait out here.” He says, standing in the communal space with sinks and benches. “You just, take your time vod’ika. Let the water...freshen you up or, soothe you or..some shit.”
Your frown abruptly turns into a wide smile as you giggle.
Victory. He thinks.
His breath hitches behind his own helmet. Kriff, you have a lovely smile. How had he never noticed your smile before?
“Thank you, Paz.” You say, retreating to a random facility and briskly closing the door.
You lean against the door once it’s shut, the ghost of a smile still on your cheeks.
He’s really just going to stand out there. Just so that you know he’s there, that you’re not alone.
“Wow.” You whisper, soaking in the warm feeling in your stomach. It feels like forever since you’ve felt that, giddiness.
You move to turn on the water, slowly stripping yourself of your clothes. You were still wearing your nightshirt from your fruitless sleep endeavors. It was nothing indecent, just a plain, black, elbow-length shirt. Luckily, you had had enough sense in you to pull on a sports bra before you abandoned any notions of sleep, lazily just slipping on some green cargo pants over your leggings before wandering aimlessly through the covert.
You look comfortable but...certainly not like a fierce Mandalorian.
You try your hardest to wash the gloom off your face, focusing your attention on the mission at hand in hopes of keeping distracted. Now you remember why you’d been putting off showering. For some reason, whenever you’re buried under the protective warmth of the loud, secluded shower, at least since it happened, you started to-
The first sniffle comes before you sense its approach, and within seconds your body is shaking in silent sobs.
“Shit.” You whisper.
Pull it together, it’s okay, just breathe. Paz is out there, you don’t want him to hear you.
Your tears blend together with the water running down your body from the shower, making it impossible to discern what is the result of your own pain and what procured it.
You let out a silent whimper, quiet enough that thankfully, you’re sure Paz couldn’t have heard.
Breathe. It’s okay, you’re okay.
No. I’m not okay.
I’m all alone.
“Stop it.” You scold yourself harshly, your soft breath echoing only in your ears.
You are not alone.
Someone is here for you.
Paz. Paz dropped everything to take care of you.
He’s right outside that door, waiting for you.
You take another moment to compose yourself, allowing the last few suds to wash down your form before turning the water off. You quickly dry yourself off and pull on your change of clothes, now wearing a blue sweater and leggings. You didn’t even bother bringing a flight suit. What’s one more day of not suiting up. But at least you’ve still got your boots.
You walk to the mirror, sighing once you get a good look at yourself.
Great.
Swollen, red, angry eyes stare back at you with a red nose to match.
Fuck. You shove all your things back into the sack, giving your hair a final few shakes with the towel before moving towards the door.
It swings open, and you’re met with the sight of Paz leaning against the opposite wall. Arms crossed, one foot propped up against the wall. His visor turns in your direction as you emerge from the chambers. He hmphs, observing your appearance.
“What?” You ask, hesitating to step closer.
“I like the color.”
You look down at your sweater, unknowingly having sported a blue in the exact same shade as his armor. You hide your gaze in your chest, mumbling a half-amused, “Oh.”
“It signifies reliability, did you know that?” He asks.
You still don’t meet his gaze, but smile. Makes sense.
“It is very fitting for you.” He finishes.
You finally look up at him. For you? He believes you to be reliable? “Oh, th-thank you.” You stutter, feeling truly flattered by his compliment.
His visor tilts silently back and forth on your features as you step up at him. He notices your freshly irritated eyes.
“Are you-”
“-it’s nothing.” You interrupt, shaking your head.
“I um,” You shift awkwardly from foot to foot, trying to lighten the mood with an obviously forced smile. “I tend to emerge from showers with angry eyes, at least, as of late.”
Paz’s hand surprises you as it reaches up, gently cupping your elbow, so swiftly you’re not even sure he meant to do it.
“Not angry, mesh’la,” He mutters, “sad.”
Your mouth gapes open slightly, not having expected such a remark from him. He seems slightly distressed by his own slip of the tongue as well, immediately tensing.
His mind is reeling, guilt flooding over him like a tidal wave in a storm. He feels as though he crossed a line. He’s supposed to be caring for you, distracting you, not calling you beautiful when you already belong to someone else.
“I’m-”
“What the hell is going on here?”
Both your gazes snap up in the direction of the source.
Standing under an archway, halfway between the entrance of the washrooms and you, is Collin.
Your breath hitches, “Collin.” You breathe out.
Paz’s hand jerks instantly from your elbow, hanging tensely by his side.
Collin says your name questioningly, taking another step towards you. He’s wearing his armor, but his helmet hangs down by his side. Blonde eyebrows furrowed suspiciously at the two of you.
“I said,” he repeats, “what is going on in here?”
“Nothing.” You say instantly, taking a step away from Paz.
Well that was a suspiciously guilty maneuver.
Collin eyes Paz for a moment, whose form hasn’t moved even an inch since Collin interrupted you both. He closes the distance between the two of you, but still stays a generous space away.
“What are you doing down here at this hour?” He questions, eyebrows furrowed tightly together.
“I..I couldn’t sleep.” You say.
“Again?”
Again? Your father died not one week ago, does he really expect you to be sleeping soundly?
“Yes it’s- been difficult to find the right headspace for rest.” You answer. “I thought perhaps a warm shower would help alleviate the uneasiness.”
His eyes flick to Paz before quickly landing back on your own, suddenly morphing his face into one of concern. His posture loosens slightly and he reaches towards you, showing you more affection than he has in months. “Well, are you okay? You don’t look very good.” Collin says.
Your frown deepens, suddenly you feel very offended.
“Yeah? Well I look the way I feel, wise guy.” You snap, startling both of you by your outburst. His hand retreats from your space, moving to clench and unclench by his side.
“I’m sorry,” He scoffs after taking a tense breath, “Have I done something wrong?”
“Collin-” Paz’s voice breaks his role as an audience member to your discussion, polite but still warning in his tone.
“-No, I am not speaking to you.” Collin spits out, “I’m speaking to my girlfriend. My girlfriend who you were getting awfully close to in the privacy of this empty washroom.”
Your heart is thumping in your chest. He’s right, this certainly was not a good look. It was highly irregular for you to be up so early. And here you were alone at an ungodly hour with a man who wasn’t your partner. Kriff, how could you be so stupid? You should have known that Collin would stumble in here at this time, he does early morning flight training every week, today must be his lesson. It must have slipped your mind, or maybe you’d forgotten his schedule. Had he even shown you his schedule?
No. No, he hadn’t. When was the last time you even saw him? Surely a few times a day but had you even shared a moment of substance together since the funeral? You’ve gone to him for comfort yet you can’t remember how any of those interactions went. He dismissed you, or offered you a peck on the forehead before changing the subject.
Come to think of it, how dare he come in here angry with you for anything. If anything, you should be the one who’s angry. Paz was right, where has he been?
“You’re right.” Paz says, shocking you and Collin both, your gaze quickly snapping in his direction. “I shouldn't have reached for her. But I was only trying to comfort her, I swear to you that is all. Regardless, you need to relax.” He speaks calmly, the warning back in his tone.
Collin huffs, taking a menacing step in Paz’s direction. He always was arrogant.
Your eyes widen, “Collin-”
He rasps out his next words in with a snarl, cutting off your attempt to de-escalate the situation. “Listen here, vod-” He spits, but not before being cut off by a startling quick grab to the front of his chest plate, yanking him forward.
Collin’s heels barely graze the floor as he looks directly up at Paz’s visor, who seems to have grown another six inches, the two quite literally helm to helm.
“You do not address me as your vod in such a manner of disrespect.” Paz growls, his voice sending a harsh shiver down your spine, slightly in alarm, slightly in...something else.
Your breath hitches, frozen as you watch the scene unfold. If you’re too frightened to move, you can’t imagine how Collin feels. Although...maybe a small part of you wishes you did.
“Jare’la,” Paz scoffs, shaking his head. “I am your alor’ad. And I do not tolerate a lack of respect. If you are confused about your place, then I will gladly show you where it is. Tayli’bac, vod?” He spits the words out menacingly, challenging Collin to oppose his authority.
“Elek! Elek, alor’ad!” Collin stammers, “N’eparavu takisit!”
Paz huffs, visor staring Collin down a moment longer before releasing him, shoving him back in the process.
He stumbles to catch himself, grabbing onto the side of the sink for leverage. You’ve never seen him look so...cowardly.
He looks to you, taking a moment to gather himself. Your eyes are still wide, mouth agape as you just stare at him in disbelief. He wets his lips with his tongue, seeming to swallow down another remark, eyes darting to Paz before returning to you. “So, that’s the way it is, huh?”
You’re speechless, “I- I don’t..”
You contemplate the severity of the moment, what’s at stake. Your silence is answer enough, you decide, before opting to look down, relinquishing your chance to speak. With it goes your willingness to explain, to try and salvage whatever pathetic excuse of a relationship you thought you had had with him. “I’m sorry, Collin.” You say, unsure of the words as they leave your mouth.
You hear only the sound of heavy breathing. Two sources of heavy breathing, and neither of them are coming from you. Then, a sound akin to that of a growl. You look up to face him again, only to see his focus on the man beside you. Paz looks back at him, unmoving, domineering, daring him to overstep.
Was Collin challenging you, or Paz?
Was Paz simply defending you or...challenging Collin? And for what?
You feel another spike in anxiety, suddenly feeling as though you were observing a mating duel, a challenge over possession of a lioness, a female...not...terribly uncommon in Mandalorian culture, though nonetheless offensive.
“That’s enough.” You whisper, though with enough exertion to be heard by both males.
You see Paz’s visor turn to face you out of the corner of your eye, but you don’t move, keeping your gaze averted to Collin.
He stares Paz down for another moment before meeting your eyes, saying your name with a stiff nod, and uttering a “Goodbye,” before briskly leaving the room.
You let out an exhale once he’s rounded the corner, catching your breath. That was it.
You’ve lost him.
You stare at the empty door, at the ghost of the shadow where he once stood, waiting for the tears to fall. You feel heavy, you feel distressed, but perhaps not anymore than you already had. There’s not a swirl of emotion in your gut nor rising in your throat that compels tears to swim in your eyes again.
You hear your name being called once, twice. The third time, you look up, much higher up than you’d expected to, at the imposing figure now standing directly above you.
“Are you alright?” He asks softly.
You hold his gaze, watching your reflection blinking up at him. He doesn’t move, waiting for your response to his question. Your gaze drifts down slightly and to the side, staring at the plain wall behind him, before reconcentrating your focus.
“What um,” Your voice comes out somewhat both hoarse and mellow, quiet as you continue, “What should we do next?”
------------------------
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
Paz was guilt ridden. Surely he could have let the little brat mouth off to him one time to spare you from getting hurt. But no, he just had to go and threaten the kid right in front of you. It was just instinctual. He would have done it without restraint any other time to any other member stepping out of line, but upon reflection, maybe the whole thing was his fault. Collin had walked in on you two nearly close enough to embrace. Of course he was pissed. And then, he degraded him, ordering him into submission right in front of your eyes.
You didn’t blame him. Not in the slightest. I mean, what did Collin expect? He straight up challenged the alor’ad. It was foolish and insulting, and quite honestly Paz wouldn’t have been out of line to clock him then and there. But you suppose he was holding himself back for the sake of your wellbeing, not wanting you to watch your boyfriend - ex-boyfriend - get pounded on while you were already in such a state.
“Yes.” You say, emitting a heavy exhale. You really were.
The halls have started filling with armored warriors, the covert finally beginning to come to life with a sunrise shining through the trees and early risers popping up.
“Vizsla!” Someone shouts, the two of you turn to see Stephan jogging towards you.
“Hey,” He says, walking once he reached a comfortable earshot, “We missed you on that perimeter run. Was surprised you didn’t show up, is everything-?”
His voice trails off, visor finally ticking in your direction. He seems a little taken aback by your presence, or rather that you were within Paz’s company.
“Vod’ika,” He finally says. “What are you doing with- uh, I mean, how are you?”
“What am I doing with Paz?” You smile, “You don’t think I could handle a perimeter run, Steph?”
His helmet ticks back in surprise at your banter, “N-no, vod’ika.” He says, looking at Paz and huffing in amusement. “We’ll gladly have you join us on the next one.”
“Sure.” Paz nods.
“So…” Stephan continues with uncertainty, “How-how are you?”
Couldn’t make it thirty seconds in without having that question thrown out at you.
You hesitate, the frown slowly returning to your face. Should you answer truthfully? Lie? How are you?
“I’m…”
You seem stuck on the word. Did you choose a word? What word are you even looking for?
You’re still talking. You remind yourself.
Shit, now you look like you’ve shut down.
You feel a hand rest on your back, blinking forward from your gaze that had somehow been drawn down towards Stephans boots.
“We were just heading to the kitchens.” Paz responds, you tilt your face in his direction without raising your eyes, keeping them glued to the space in front of you, ashamed.
“Okay, yeah.” Stephen says hastily, “Well, uh, Jay made some really good morning muffins, vod’ika, and they’re still warm I bet.”
You nod your head in acknowledgement, offering a pitiful smile, “I’m sure.”
Poor Stephan, it’s not his fault you were like this. He’s just checking in on you, and here you are making him feel bad for asking about your wellbeing. It’s just a question.
Kriff, why are you so weak?
You conceal yourself back in your thoughts, sure that you look absent with glazed over eyes. But you can't bring yourself to care. That’s the weird thing about feeling so desolate, you just don’t have the energy to hide it sometimes.
You hear the foggy exchange of words between the two warriors, simply choosing to retract yourself from the conversation and instead focus your attention on the gloved hand rubbing soothing circles on your back.
Stephan’s modulator rises to a more upbeat tone before stepping forward and offering Paz a light slap on the arm as he passes, evidently dismissing the two of you to carry on with your business.
Paz’s form shifts to watch Stephan leave before turning to you. “Okay?” He asks.
“Okay.” You nod.
He hums, sounding unconvinced as he lightly nudges you forward again, letting his hand drop from its place on your jumper.
No... come back.
You walk side by side in silence, trying to get him to walk a step ahead of you so you can follow. But anytime your step falters purposefully to give him the lead he slows his own, silently insisting you walk side by side. Instead, he steers your direction with fleeting contacts. A hand pulling your arm, his gloved fingers tapping your shoulder. You’re happy to let him guide you, appreciating the delicate touches in direction.
Feeling a sliver of life breathed into you at each one.
The touches stop far sooner than you need them to upon arrival to your destination. You notice you’re heading towards the mess hall again, feeling discomfort at the idea of seeing more of your vods, or worse, having a repeat of your public meltdown you’d had just a few short hours ago.
You’re more alert now, having picked up on the light buzzing from the dining hall. There’s probably quite a few people out there now. And you’re not sure you’re ready to face another wave of concerned and attentive brothers and sisters.
“Paz-” You say, ready to object, but not before you’re steered off to the side, scarcely missing exposure to the hall full of bustling Mandalorians.
Instead, Paz opens a door and gestures for you to walk through, which you do.
Oh. The kitchen.
You’ve been in here many times, but not often during the day. Jay keeps a tight lockdown on the kitchen, only allowing his apprentice to be in here during the working hours of the covert. He’s got a considerable number of Mandalorians to feed, yet he prefers to tackle the challenge alone. Usually kicking anyone out who pops in to help, scolding them for messing up his rhythm.
He has no problem allowing people to make their rounds of kitchen duty though, but that only consists of cleaning up the space once it’s shut down for the night. Mopping, washing, organizing...he tends to lock up all the good treats and hide away the key, making the task totally not worthwhile for you.
Of course, being the daughter of the unsanctioned Alor and all, you had special privileges. One of them being you could hang around the kitchen without Jay kicking you out every time. He still did, but he gave you more leeway than the others if you stayed out of his way and only snacked on the scraps he wasn’t saving.
The door swings shut behind you and you round the corner, the clink of your armored warrior just behind you.
Whoa, whoa. You stop yourself. Your?
You catch sight of a red Mandalorian viciously attending to something on the stove. “What are you two doing in here?” Jay shouts over his shoulder, turning back to his frying.
Paz looks around the empty kitchen, “I heard a rumor about morning muffins.” The deep rumble of his voice saying the words prompts a breathy giggle from your lips, catching his attention, before he continues to glance around for the treats.
Jay huffs, motioning with his wooden spoon to the corner, “Over there. Take one and get out.”
“Thanks,” Paz says, his hands lightly resting on your shoulders from behind and nudging you forward. “Nice attitude.” He mumbles for your ears, an amused smile still lingering on your lips.
“Nice signet.” Jay scoffs, evidently having heard, “Or lack thereof.”
“Nice apron.”
“Okay- get out of my kitchen.” Jay says, looking up from his dicing.
You surprise yourself by letting out a lively laugh. Paz’s hands tighten over your shoulders at the sudden sound, feeling damn near enamored by Jay for having caused it.
He looks to Jay and gives him a grateful nod, who nods slightly in return, so as not to be caught by your gaze, before returning to his work.
You make your way to the tray of muffins in the corner, boldly sitting down on the couch in front of the fire. Exactly where you and your dad would sit and enjoy the freshly baked cookies or cake made by Jay that morning, the small area being off limits to everyone else in the covert.
Paz is certain Jay would have snapped at them to get away from his personal space if it weren’t for you. You’re sat next to him, gazing at the fire that Jay lights every morning to warm the frigid kitchen.
“For you.” Paz says, handing you a small muffin with a napkin wrapped protectively around it.
You smile at him, accepting the gesture, just allowing it to slowly warm up your fingers in your lap. The movements of the fire captivating your attention as the flames dance in the soft lighting.
“Cyar'ika.” He says softly, the word sending a shiver down your spine. “You really ought to eat something.”
You look to your side again, taking in Paz’s appearance on the tiny couch. Its small size having forced you to sit right up against each other. The leg closest to you is propped up and over the other comfortably, his knee resting elevated slightly above your own.
You wonder if you clink your knee against his own if his hand will slip off it and land on yours.
A silly thought, you think, amusing yourself.
His tilting visor alerts you that you’ve been shamelessly gawking at him. Twice in one day.
“I- um,” You stutter, averting your gaze. “I’m not terribly hungry, Paz.”
He hums, “Well it’s a good thing you’re not terribly hungry because all you’ve got there is a teeny muffin.”
“Yes, it would appear so.” You smile, still making no movement to eat it.
Paz breathes in a slow, contemplative sigh. Guilt starts to flood your senses again, he’s done so much for you today, why can’t you just do this one thing for him?
“Tell you what,” he offers, your eyes rising to meet his visor, “You eat that muffin, maybe have a little bit of tea, and I’ll tell you about the time your vod and I went to Jabba’s Palace.”
Your eyes widen, and you boldly swing your hand down to grasp his arm as you straighten. “The Hutt story?” You choke. “You’ll tell me the Hutt story?”
Paz’s modulator rumbles as he chuckles, knowing he’s got you entrapped by a golden exchange.
He nods, “I’ll tell you the untold and widely sought-after story about the time Devin and I went to visit the Hutts-”
“-Deal!” You squeeze his arm, still gripping tightly from earlier.
“Yeah,” Jay utters, his looming figure now standing directly behind you both, “Kriffing deal.”
“Get out of here.” Paz huffs, shoving Jay back over the arm of the couch. He doesn’t argue, but you see his retreating form adjust the volume settings on his vambrace.
Paz shifts back cheekily with his arms spread around the couch. He gestures to the uneaten muffin on your lap, waiting for you to uphold your end of the deal.
You sigh, unwrapping the baked good. But the thrill of getting to know the story that caused such an uproar in the covert shoo’s away the discomfort, replacing it with a slightly giddy feeling.
You take a bite, looking at him expectantly. He just scoffs, gesturing again to the tiny muffin in your hand. “C’mon, that thing is like the size of a whistle bird, you finish that before you get the story,” He says, with much emphasis on the “before.”
Fair.
You down the muffin faster than you thought you could, much too excited to finally hear the secret tale. You were going to have bragging rights around this place forever. Paz shakes his head at you, lightly laughing, “So that’s all it takes, huh?” He nods to the empty napkin in your hand.
You ignore him, knowing he knows full well the value of this information. Whatever it was that happened when those two visited Jabba’s Palace, Devin had come back damn near afraid of his own shadow. It took months for him to pull himself together. Your vod would literally jump at the sound of an egg cracking open, reaching for his blaster and slipping up on his grasp. It was kriffing hysterical to you and everyone else in the tribe. And you assumed you weren’t really being malicious. Paz had been there too and returned unscathed, and laughed all the same. And even though he teased Devin to no end about it, he swore he’d never tell a soul what happened, so up until this point, nobody knew what it was. But here you were.
Paz turns over his shoulder, “Hey Jay,” He says politely. “How about a cup of tea for your vod’ika?”
“What am I your maid?” Jay retorts.
“You are the cook.”
Jay mutters something under his breath, but you don’t pay him any mind, having heard him fill up a pot of water immediately upon Paz’s request.
You avert your gaze from Paz’s helmet as soon as he turns to face you again. You look to the fire, biting your lip as a smile slowly grows on your face. It crosses your mind that you feel not only okay in this very moment but actually...happy. The fleeting moments of relief you’ve been feeling all morning, small moments of peace jumbled in with all the sadness and the anxiety, were all because of him. This man who you did not even know three hours ago. Who let you cry in his arms, who stood guard outside the washroom while you showered, who defended you, called you sweetheart, made sure you knew he was always there with you. The same man who now sat next to you on the couch you weren’t allowed to sit on in a kitchen you weren’t allowed to be in. Your smile grows wider, and in your peripheral you’re very aware of his visor still staring at you.
“What?” Paz chuckles.
“Nothing.” You giggle, tears gathering in your eyes. But for the first time today, first time all week, forming not in pain but in relief.
“What is it?” He insists, still playful in his tone. His knee nudges you as if to prompt a response.
A tear slips down your cheek and he leans forward instinctively, his hand finding yours in your lap without hesitation. “Mesh’la, what is it?” He asks again, this time void of all silliness, concerned.
You shake your head, your small smile still present, but certainly reflecting more of the emotion you were feeling.
You place your other hand on top of his own that covers yours, trapping his gloved fingers in your two hands, before looking up at him.
“Just, thank you Paz.” You say, admiration and gratitude dripping from your voice.
------------------------
He likes your voice, he decides, it sounds so sweet, like pure honey.
His eyes are lost in yours behind the visor, watching another tear slip down your delicate cheek. He can hear the relief in your voice. The pure relief and admiration. Admiration? Do you feel admiration for him? He sure hopes you do, otherwise you might find it weird that he’s staring at you for so long. Kriff, he should stop staring at you. But look at those eyes. Those wonderfully expressive eyes that aren’t looking angry or sad or pained, but warm. He feels ensnared by your gaze, a light smile trailing your features, a sprinkle of tears sliding down your cheeks. He watches one slip down the shape of your cheek, rounding your nose and lips before forming a teardrop on your chin. He watches it glisten, unable to bear letting it fall. Mindlessly, he raises a gloved finger to catch it.
Your breath hitches at the contact, and his finger hovers under your jaw before sliding up to catch another.
Your eyes flit back and forth along the dark shade of his visor, searching, wondering what his eyes look like, head tilting unconsciously into his glove.
He takes the gesture as permission, slowly lifting his thumb, his palm, his whole hand up against your cheek.
You both feel suspended, his hand frozen caressing your cheek. Your eyes have dried up now, carrying a glow of wonder in them. His head tilts slowly and unknowingly to the side, almost like he can’t hold up the weight of his helmet a second longer.
The sound of approaching footfalls brings you back to reality, Paz’s hand drops from your cheek and your faces turning towards the source that dared to interrupt your moment.
“Geez, no need to cry about it, I’ve got your tea.” Jay quips, perfectly deescalating the tension of the moment. Making it a point to show you he was minding his own business.
“Um, thank you.” You mutter, still coming back to the present.
“It’s sleepytime tea.” Jay says, “Ground with dandisonyl.”
“Dandisonyl?” You ask, more alert, “That stuff is rare and expensive.”
“And strong.” Paz huffs.
“And expensive.” You insist again, looking down at your tea. “Jay, why would you waste this on me?”
He leans down against his forearms, now looming over your shoulders. His smug nature radiating off his posture alone, “Now, and this is just an observation, but you look kriffing tired. And that there,” He gestures to the cup of earthy smelling tea you’ve placed on the table in front of you, “That’s sleepytime tea. And you, vod’ika, of all people, look like you need some serious, quality, sleepytime.”
His statement ends with a pinch to your cheeks, and it’s your turn to aggressively shove him backward, causing Paz to let out a sweet laugh.
“Paz,” You say, looking to the only superior present, “He wasted good, expensive herbs on me. That stuff can be used medicinally.” You say with reprimand in your voice.
Paz surprises you by shrugging, “He kind of did use it medicinally.”
“Oh, alor’ad.” You chastise, using his official title to remind him of his role here.
He shrugs, using his whole body for the movement, before picking up your cup and placing it back in your hands. “I suppose you’re right, alor’ika.” He teases, “So you’d better drink it all so as not to let it go to waste.”
You roll your eyes, taking a sip of the tea. With your nose nestled into the cup you miss the silent exchange of approval Paz gives Jay.
Readjusting your position so that you’re facing the fire again, you turn your head towards Paz, taking another sip of your tea, it is surprisingly good. “Get on with the story then.” You command, grinning at your victory.
“Okay.” Paz says, grunting as he adjusts himself to sit comfortably once again on the small couch, opting this time to keep one arm swung over behind your head. You smile in content, looking down sheepishly at your tea and having a bit more.
“Well, it all started on the ship. I mean before we even got to Tatooine. Devin, being the utreekov that he is, forgot to bring the kriffing-...”
You listen intently to his story. He’s using his hands as he talks, passionate and perhaps a little dramatic. He’s taking extra care to include all the details, probably indulging in the fact that you and, undoubtedly, Jay, are paying him your absolute, undivided attention. You sip at your tea, the taste warm and comforting alongside Paz’s sweet voice. Your eyes are getting heavier, and you blink at the burning feeling stinging your eyes from the light of the fire, deciding that you’ll be able to listen better with your eyes closed, and gently placing the empty mug on the table.
“So, finally we get to Jabba’s palace. And Devin’s already a nervous wreck after that encounter with the Trandoshans, and-”
His voice carries a hint of thrill in it. You wonder if he feels exhilarated in finally getting to tell this story. Your lips twitch slightly, content that he’s trusting you with it.
Feeling heavier on one side, you allow your head to swing slightly in his direction, snuggling more into the embrace of the couch.
You notice his words trailing off, realizing you weren't paying much attention. Hearing only the sounds of the crackling fire in front of you, you slowly force your eyes open.
Paz’s head is turned down as much as it can in his position. And though you can’t see his visor, you’re certain he’s staring at you.
“Keep talking.” You mutter, resting your head back again.
You hear the sweetest breath of a chuckle sound from beneath his helmet, which you suddenly realise you're very near to. “Close your eyes again.”
“No, I wanna listen to the story.” You mumble, your low energy blending the words together.
“You can only evade sleep for so long sweetheart.”
“We’ll see.” You challenge, eyes fluttering closed against your will.
“Yes, we will.” He whispers. He’s silent another moment, admiring you and your peaceful expression with a smile on his face before carrying on with the story, speaking much more softly than before. The light humming of his voice is soothing, and you notice it growing quieter and quieter, yet the feelings of security and warmth and relief all stay with you.
Paz looks towards the fire as he speaks, trying to draw out the story as long as he can. He feels the light weight of your head resting against his shoulder, not daring to move a muscle and disturb your peaceful slumber.
It’s still early in the morning. Behind the fireplace and through the density of the thick wall, Paz can hear the covert coming to life. And while their days are just starting, yours has finally come to a peaceful end. He listens to your serene breathing through the long pauses he takes in his story, knowing that really, he’s only telling it to Jay now, who notably moves through the kitchen swiftly and with as little clicking and clanking as he can muster.
“-And so, that’s what happened on Tatooine.” Paz whispers, looking at your parted lips and lightly closed eyelids.
The fire casts a harmonious glow on your face, making your features look warmer, livelier, serene.
You look utterly angelic.
He remembers how you crumbled in his arms not five hours ago, pained and distressed and lonely. You sought him out even though you didn’t know him, not knowing how much he’d admired you from afar. To see your normally light and radiant face masked with such despair, he couldn’t bear to see it again.
He watches your sleeping form take a staggering breath, your body relaxing into its position, nudging your face further into where it fell on his shoulder. He dares to let the arm wrapped around the couch lower slightly, so that it rests comfortingly around your form.
“Sleep, cyar’ika,” He whispers. “I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
He hopes his silent promise is enough to soothe your sleeping form, listening to your breathing even out to a more peaceful rhythm.
“I’ll be here for as long as you need.”

Night Guards For Sale: Chapter 7

NOT FOR EVERYONE
Warnings: Excessive cursing. People being treated as pets. People not caring about someone’s life. People not caring about someone’s well being. People being purchased. People being held against their own will. Mentions of death. Mentions of murder. Mentions of people being experimented on.
Run Down: Everyone says the world is a cruel place. That if it turns its back on you, you turn your back against it. Something that’s extremely hard to do when it’s essentially impossible to escape. Not that Mike won’t fight as hard as he possibly can.
___________________________
"Jeremy! Not again!"
"It's n-n-n-not my fault!"
"Oh really!"
"R-Really!"
"Then how do you explain the fact there's no one in here!"
"...my c-c-c-cereal!"
"Fucking-"
Mike's brow furrows at the voices, the sounds, the laughter. It didn't seem to fit, especially with all the nightmares he's been having. Not dreams of how the others were doing good. Messing with each other and enjoying every bit. He wished he did, but he could only remember how he let Jeremy down.
Alone, afraid, lost. Fritz getting shrunk too. David most likely blaming him. The others...
With a groan the ex-lead guard slowly sits up, wincing when he upsets the bruise from before. And the one from after he was tossed on the counter by a punk of a teenager. And the scratch from the prissy ass lady's sharp ass nails snagging his arm.
God, he hurts all over. And he can't do anything about it but-
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
"Mike?"
The man breathes heavily as he moves away, attempting to figure out just what the hell was going on. Especially with a real bed holding him. No glass ceiling, no sawdust that fucking hurts his goddamn hands, and actual walls surrounding him.
...was this heaven?
"Mike? Are you-?"
"SHIT!"
James winces at the thump of their friend hitting the floor, quickly darting over to help him up. His hand is gratefully accepted, and with little effort the once heavy guard is lifted to a wobbly stand, arms out to steady himself.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm just fucking-"
The horror guard waits for an answer before yelping as he's lunged at, both men going down as Mike hugs him as if he'd never be let go.
"Grave Digger. Holy shit you're here. You're here and we're not in some goddamn hand and thank fuck you're okay."
James hugs his friend tightly, leaning into the embrace that was clearly needed for the last member of their group. The one who was finally home.
"Hey, I heard some-"
"EGGED JACKASS!"
Eggs lets a girly scream escape when Mike suddenly lunges at him, both tumbling through the bedroom's door way and into the hallway as he's hugged to death.
"Holy shit you're here too! I can't fucking believe it! You're safe and here and-!"
"Mike!" the mechanic laughs, carefully peeling himself from the tight embrace to properly look at him friend.
His friend who didn't look entirely here. As if he thinks this is all a dream.
"Mike, we're all here. At home. With Scott, Jeremy, Fritz, David, Caleb, and sometimes William 'cause he's an asshole who can come at any time he fucking wants apparently."
A moment passes before those blue eyes narrow and a lightbulb seems to click.
That's when he remembers Scott coming into the store, with William. They talked to Abby, showed his papers. Apparently law meant a human could claim a Mini-Me child. And then, the bright sun, them walking...
"Home."
"Yeah. This is home," Eggs smiles, untangling himself as James helps lift Mike to his feet. They watch as he slowly nods, finally standing on his own before they begin to walk to the door.
Only to fall back when three taps shake the entire goddamn place.
"I heard Eggs scream like the girl he is."
"Fuck you, Harrison!"
"You know it's true."
The horror guard smiles at the glare given, quickly opening the door and waving up at David watching with concern. The giant man opens his mouth before snapping it shut, staring as Mike appears in the doorway, frozen there.
"Nice to see you, Mike."
"Douche Bag."
"Fucked-"
"Mr. Harrison!"
The business man lifts his head up in exasperation, taking a deep breath from how much control that little redhead has on him before standing up. Mike only watches as the man grows taller, a clear annoyance yet fondness toward the little voice yelling at him before those giant shoes spin to where the teenager stands.
"Wait! Wait! DON'T-!"
"TOO LATE!"
Fritz squeals as his shirt is pinched carefully between two fingers, lifted up and tossed carefully as he screams before landing in his guardian's hands as a giant smirk is displayed.
"MR. HARRISON!"
"'Mr. Harrison'," David mocks in a high-pitched voice, laughing at the pout given up to him as he lifts Fritz close to his face. "That's what you sound like."
"And this is what you sound like!"
"Come on," Eggs smiles, shoving at Mike still blocking the way before tugging him toward the kitchen Fritz was currently being carried to as he scrambles up to his guardian's hair.
"Your shoes never taste any better, Fritz," David growls once his charge is safe on his head, still walking and careful to avoid the Jeremy currently pouting on the floor.
"No," Vincent repeats, knowing the puppy dog eyes were being aimed full force up at him. A moment passes before a slight weight jumps onto his shoe, the purple man shaking his head again knowing exactly what Jeremy was trying to do. "No."
"Vinceeeeent!"
"Vinceeeeent!"
The former murder and stuttering guard hesitate at the second whine, knowing for a fact it was Eggs. And as Jeremy leaps off his friend's shoe to peer around the corner, Vincent waiting patiently before following after, their treated with the sight of Eggs skipping ahead as James follows. Followed by-
"MIKE!"
The ex-lead guard can't help but freeze up, expecting Abby to appear out of nowhere and snatch him up. Tell him he did something wrong. That he could never come out of his cage again. Even though his family was right-
A yelp escapes as Jeremy leaps into his arms, laughter flooding the air as he snuggles into the adorable little night guard he missed so goddamn much.
And now he'll never have to say goodbye. Never have to worry about someone saying he can't see his best friend. Never have to worry about hands trying to-
"SHIT!"
Vincent only kneels beside the two, not even reaching for Jeremy or Mike as the young adult is hugged tightly as if to save him from being grabbed. He doesn't comment on the reaction either, simply waiting for those bright blue eyes to open and see there was no danger.
Never from any one of them.
"Hey, Mikey."
The ex-lead guard was admittedly embarrassed by the warm smile given as he clings to Jeremy for dear life.
"Hey Purple Guy."
"Nice to see you're finally awake. Welcome to the circus," the former murder chuckles, nudging Eggs as he kicks his shoe for the comment.
"Making fun of my insane asylum, are you!"
"Yep."
"I'M GONNA-!"
Caleb takes Vincent's spot as the purple man walks away from their blonde guard attempting to attack his shoe laces. Because one thing they knew and it was any laces stolen by Eggs were his forever.
And they meant forever. Vincent's nearly out of wearable shoes.
"Hi, Mike! Hi, Jeremy!"
"Hey, Hell Spawn," the man smiles, ruffling the Jer's soft curls before slowly standing up. He brushes his pants off, knowing he won't be able to get a new pair for as long as he live-
Oh, right. He's not at the store anymore.
"Uh, how are you?"
"I'm good. Crazy morning like always," the little boy smiles, glancing over to see Vincent still walking in circles to avoid Eggs. The mechanic wasn't going to give up, however. "Give me one minute."
"VINCENT! YOU SLOW YOUR ASS DOWN OR I WILL PERSONALLY!" Eggs pauses as he pants, a finger held up before he starts racing after his friend once more. "GET BACK HERE!"
"Hungry, Eggs!"
Mike watches as the blonde guard glares after Vincent before flopping backwards, Caleb quickly catching him before he can hit his head on the ground. The little boy then carefully lifts their friend up to the wooden table, Scott winking at him before glancing down to see Mike watching him.
"Nice to see you're finally awake, Michael."
"Nice to see you too, Phones."
"C-C-Come on, Mike!"
The eldest guard laughs as Jeremy suddenly yanks their friend toward the table, David stepping over them carefully before plopping beside him and looking over the reports.
"Restaurants doing good?"
"Nearly had another break in."
"Fuck."
"Mr. Harrison? Could I possibly visit the animatronics?" Fritz questions, leaning over David's hair to see what the two adults were speaking about. He's not told to look away or do something else, they both knew he understood a lot more of the business world than they thought he originally did. More so working under David, living under the same roof only helped the fact as well.
"I don't know, Fritz," Vincent begins, glancing over Jeremy quickly perking up with the idea of seeing the toys again. "They didn't change in size."
"I think Happy would get a kick out of that."
"C-C-C-CC, too."
And Chica.
Mike hesitates when he remembers he, in fact, worked under Freddy Fazbear's. And Freddy Fazbear's meant he was actually in charge of the originals.
...he hadn't thought about them ever since this bullshit happened.
Were they okay? Did they miss him? Did they know he was ever missing? Did Golden know? Did they care? They grew to enjoy him, love him, talk about random shit with him, but did they really want him back? He was just a reminder of Vincent's murder of those five kids. Kids stuffed inside of them. Frontal lobe missing...
Not much to love.
"Hey! Stiller! Get your ass up here!" Eggs calls, finally breaking through Mike's dark thoughts as the horror guard glares up at his grinning friend.
"I was banned from using my method! Remember!"
"Nope! I remember!"
"Do it, James!"
"Do-?"
Mike's eyes grow wide as James unhooks a giant ass fishing hook from his side, standing back before swinging it as he backs away. Jeremy stops his journey to fuck knows where to watch as well, a bit excitedly as the hook goes around, and around, and around, and-
"IT'S GOOD!" Eggs cheers, hands in the air as if he'd shout 'GOAL!' for the longest amount of time as the glistening and sharp tool lands a few feet from him and onto the table. With slow movements, their friend then carefully tugs the line until it catches the edge.
Caleb then appears beside them, shoes taller than even James planted so close the shrunken man could touch it. But neither one pauses, even Jeremy as he moves close to where the horror guard watches the little boy judging his work.
"It seems embedded pretty well," he begins, tucking Fredbear under an arm to carefully touch the gleaming hook. It doesn't move with the slight nudge, and considering James in incredibly tiny beyond belief, he should be fine.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
Scott huffs before watching with interest as James begins to scale the fishing line, Vincent leaning over to watch as well as Eggs waits patiently at the top. David then allows Fritz to race over and watch as well, every member of the group watching as Caleb carefully makes sure James could only fall into his hand if the line were to snap, the hook fall, or even he lets go.
Every member, except one.
"Nice job!" Fritz cries, high fiving their horror guard rolling his eyes.
"Seriously, not a big-"
"YES IT IS!"
Jeremy scowls Vincent snatching the man away just as Caleb sets him on the table, a bit excited as even Scott smiles at the job well done. Especially when compared to last time, the hook nearly sliced its owner in half...
"Better be careful, Stiller," Scott warns as the purple man finally releases his victim, having tossed the man in victory. "Don't do it when we're not around."
"Yet," his best friend grins, ruffling the hair as hands of a dizzy man attempt to shove him away.
"I don't think I'll ever do it again if I'm tossed every time."
"You'll have to teach me!" Eggs proclaims, sliding next to their friend.
"Me too!" Fritz cries, yelping when David's protective hand stops him from even going near James.
"Scott, don't you think this is a bad influence?"
"They don't want to be carried everywhere."
"But-"
"And," the eldest guard scowls, allowing the redhead enough of a distraction to weave around his guardian's hand and next to the others as Jeremy sits beside him as well. "Tell me you want to leave them stranded. A way to the floor isn't a bad idea. Especially when Jeremy does Jeremy things."
"He does do Jeremy things," Caleb smiles.
"Well what does Mike say about it?"
A moment goes by before they realize they actually can ask Mike about what he thought. Before the phrase was used a bit rhetorically, asked into the air, waiting for an answer that never came, and then continuing with their argument.
But now their leader was back. Able to provide insight they all trusted no matter how many times he 'fucks shit up'.
"But, wh-wh-wh-where is M-M-Mike?"

Can you write Poly!Lost Boys x s/o x Michael? The lost boys let s/o seduce Michael into the dark side?
Oh hO HO- Okay, here you go. Making this an everyone loves Michael fic, and not including Star/Laddie.
Good Job, Michael (Poly!Lost Boys x S/O x Michael)
Word Count: 1725
Warnings: cursing, descriptions of blood/violence/gore
David's hand itched for a cigarette while he and his boys sat on their bikes. His mind was a swirl of thoughts, all of them complicated and muddled by the blondes own emotions. He knew what he had to do. Max wanted Lucy, and he thought her sons were the best way to get her. They turn Michael and Sam, and then Lucy turns. Ta-da, happy ending. But things weren't always that easy.
They sat on their bikes, knowing that somewhere, probably right at this moment, you were getting hit on. And that you were entertaining it. The thought didn't settle easy among the group, and instead it held over them like a persistent fog. Some members were more outspoken than others with their disapproval of the tactic, with Marko having been bitching about it since they woke up. He'd hesitated when letting you go, his gloved hand resting on your hip for a just a moment too long. All it did was pause you from saying goodbye to the others and you gave him a look, but he settled to just huff and wait to truly start complaining for when you left.
Paul was usually a chatterbox, but one of the least confrontational of all the boys. He preferred "peace and love, man", even if he tore into surf-nazis each night. But the way he was tapping on his bike handle and looking around gave him away. He didn't like this either, and finally he uttered out a whine of,
"Where are they?" They weren't used to letting you stray far. They rarely left eachothers sides, and their instincts were practically begging them to find you. Surprisingly, it was Dwayne that answered.
"Be patient." He said, his voice deep and bristly. He didn't like this as much as the others, that was clear by the permanent scowl on his face. His hands were gripping his handlebars, his knuckles tightening and threatening to snap the metal underneath his fingers. So much for patience.
While they all agreed that none of them liked this, David couldn't deny that another wave of emotion was clouding his mind. One that he'd carefully avoided, but resurfaced the second they saw you emerge from the crowd. Blue eyed, curly haired brunette in tow. The same feeling, the edging, burning interest of a new crush, edged his mind. One that he'd decided to keep to himself, even if the way he chose to stare at the brunette betrayed him to the others. The second the boys caught the way he was looking at the brunette, there was a sigh, small tittering, and a roll of hazel-green eyes. It didn't help that you were giving Michael the same exact goo-goo eyes.
---
You hadn't expected to actually like the brunette. You knew what David wanted, what Max planned. This was supposed to just be a simple trick, something to keep Max happy and off your back. A simple necessity, like drinking blood each night. Sure, having another boy around wasn't completely unwelcome, but, again, you hadn't expected to like him.
You found him after he donned a new, obviously new, leather jacket. He had seen the boardwalk, and the teens that owned it, and was trying desperately to fit in. It made you smile, a small feeling of pity flitting through you. The poor boy was even considering getting his ear pierced. You stepped forward, offering a quick,
"It's a rip-off." To catch his attention. He turned, and his eyes found you. He was quick to follow, asking,
"What?" And you smiled. A real smile. He was clueless. It was almost cute.
"It's a rip-off. Get a sewing needle and some ice, it'll do the job." You said, and he smiled for a moment, doing his best to follow you through the crowd.
"What's your name?" He asked, and you offered it freely. He repeated it, and was quick to chirp back. "I'm Michael." He said, and you nodded. You knew. You repeated his name back, catching his eye as you did so.
You looked him over now that you were closer, and, for the shadow of a moment, you saw exactly what he could become. The faint image of a Lost Boy was hidden behind his face, and you didn't doubt that in a few weeks, if not a few nights, he would grow into that image nicely. You couldn't help but say,
"You new to Santa Carla?" You asked, and he rubbed the back of his neck before he replied,
"That obvious, huh?" He asked, and you chuckled. He was oddly charming. He was like a puppy, filled with naivety and the need to be accepted. Liked.
"Just a little bit." You said, making a pinching gesture with your fingers. "But I like the jacket." You said, and you saw how that brought a smile to his face. He touched it, like he'd almost forgot that he was wearing it. You had to stifle a laugh when he said,
"This old thing?" And you reached out. He watched your hand come towards his, and he seemed excited for a moment. Excited from the idea that you were going to take his hand. You did, but only to pull a price tag from his wrist. You held it up, and, in a moment, he flushed. You couldn't stop your laugh then, and you had to tease him.
"Old thing, huh?" You said, but you were quick to wave your own comment away. "It's nice, though. It suits you." You said, and you watched him rub his neck again. You couldn't tell if his embarrassment was from having been caught in his lie or from being complimented by you. Still, he had enough confidence to ask,
"Wanna get something to eat?" As his bike came nearer. You nodded, and you could practically feel the stare from your boys on your back.
---
That was exactly what you asked him as you lead him into the dunes, the rest of your boys hooting and hollering behind you. Dwayne had thrown his arm around Marko, with Paul raising his hands teasingly at David. When you stopped near a tree, just above a partying group of teens, the laughter died. The tension had become suddenly thick, and Michael uncomfortably asked,
"I thought you said we were getting food?" He asked, and the boys snickered as they climbed into the tree. They'd been hazing him for days, even as their own feelings grew. But none of them were willing to do anything that would halt his progress, even if the tension was growing thicker between him and David. He would turn, and then they could pursue him.
You and Michael hung back for a moment, and you gave his arm a gentle squeeze. You looked at him. He had grown exactly into the image you had pictured. His cheeks were dusted with stubble, his sunglasses hanging from his white shirt. An earring hanging from his left ear. He was staring at you the same way he always did. So full of trust, naivety, and a willingness to please. Again, you found that you nearly pitied him. It's why you couldn't let him go into this completely blind, even if that had been David's plan.
"You've been having a weird pain lately, right?" You asked him, and his brows furrowed with confusion. You knew the thirst had hit him already, even if he hadn't acted on it. "And your hand." You reached for it. He'd told you about how Nanook had bitten him, but he'd skipped the detail about the mirror. His hand was now healed, as if he hadn't been bitten at all. While he wasn't the brightest, he was smart enough to realize that wasn't normal. You and the boys had succeeded in distracting him the night before, but now he had to know. "These are bad people, Michael. You don't need to feel guilty." You whispered, but he looked more confused than anything. He held your hand, giving it a squeeze. Before he could ask, you interruped, "Here, I'll show you." You said, guiding him towards the tree and then leaving him there while the boys watched you. While you'd given him just the slightest of hints, now it was time to set the plan into motion. Michael nearly followed you, only to be caught by Paul and Marko after a quick look from David. David trusted you, as did the others, as you stepped down towards the firelight.
Michael watched how the boys jeered at you, how one quickly took to your side. He was drunk, and it looked as if he planned on messing with you. The others quickly noticed you, and they circled you like a pack of wolves. The boys watched as Michael's- well, they couldn't tell if it was jealousy or protectiveness- flared, his eyes turning yellow. David smirked, and he leaned towards the brunette. Setting a hand on his shoulder, he said,
"You gonna let them do that, Michael?" And he nodded at the two blondes. They let him go, and just then one of the boys gave you a nudge. One that seemingly nearly knocked you to the ground. It was a bit of pretending on your part, but that was all it took.
His face had shifted completely, becoming almost lionesque as his fangs descended. Without the boys to grab him, he flew. You watched as they ripped and tore into the man's shoulder, knocking him flat onto his face. You watched as your boys laughed, joining him and pouncing as the surf-nazis began to try to run away. You snatched one for yourself, the blood hitting the back of your throat in a hot gush. The six of you were having a frenzy, and you tossed the limp body into the fire as the adrenaline filled your veins. You looked over at the curly haired brunette, his eyes still shining yellow instead of blue. He was panting, with blood drenched down his chin, neck, and the front of his shirt. He looked beautiful, not just to you but to the boys you had been with for- well, you couldn't remember exactly how long. He was truly one of you now, and you didn't hesitate to pull him in for a kiss. He moaned and licked at your mouth, whether to deepen it or catch the blood decorating it you couldn't tell.
When you pulled away, you caressed his stubbly cheek. His eyes had faded back to blue, but the completion of the transformation numbed any expected remorse. He simply ducked down again, capturing your lips once more, before the both of you giggled and you said,
"Good job, Michael."

‘she’s satoru’s sister’ (chapter two)
warnings: none
context: IN WHICH kami gojo, younger sister of certain powerful jujutsu sorcerer, meets an idiot who makes cold barrier around her heart melt.
There weren't many things that Kami hated. She probably poured all her hatred onto her parents, whom she felt incredibly sorry for. But there was another thing that Kami hated practically as much as her parents.
"She’s Satoru's sister. From Gojo Family."
Oh, how she hated being seen only as the sister of a famous jujutsu sorcerer and a member of a powerful family.
Kami wasn't powerful, in fact, she had no cursed energy, she couldn't do any cursed technique. The only thing she had in common with her family was that she could see curses, nothing more. She was often referred to as the window of the Gojo family. No one ever wanted to meet her, no one wanted to know anything about her, and when someone actually started talking to her, it was only to find out about Satoru.
Because of this, she was also the scapegoat in the family. Her parents were ashamed of her. In fact, they abhorred her. They couldn't stand the thought that their daughter was nothing compared to her family. Compared to her brother. Therefore, she was excluded from practically everything that went on in her family. Meetings, celebrations, birthdays, nothing. She was always left alone at home, under the care of the babysitter her parents had hired.
When she was younger, she thought it was just the way it was supposed to be, that it was like that in every family. After all, they never hit her, so what was wrong with that? Sometimes they yelled at her, screamed about not being good enough, but they never hit her. So nothing bad happened, right? Right?
The only thing she had in common with her family was her white hair and her rather tall height. And everything else was different. Even her eyes were black. Black. When her family had them blue, heavenly.
As she grew up, she began to understand how different she was from her family. She saw how disappointed they were in her for not being like them. So she began to practice and learn as much as she could. By the age of twelve, she already knew all about cursed weapons, she knew how to use them, how to defend herself. But her parents continued to look down on her. They continued to look at her with the same eyes. With pity and disgust.
The only person who didn't seem to look down on her was her brother. Satoru. And still, Kami hated him with all her heart.
She hated being inferior to him. She hated being compared to him. She hated being in his shadow. She hated all of him.
And yet she continued to stay with him. She stayed with him because of that stupid bond, the fear that no one else would accept her, that no one else would love her. Because no matter how angry, pissed off Kami could be at him, no matter how much she could call him names and tell him how much she hated him, he always stayed by her side and never doubted her.
After all, he was her big brother, how could he doubt in his loving little sister, for whom he would give his life, for whom he would do anything.
Satoru loved—duh—loves Kami with all his heart and considers her the smartest, strongest, and most beautiful woman—not girl, woman—he could ever meet. Satoru is the proudest brother, and he couldn't be prouder of how well his little sister, who holds his whole heart, is doing.
Even though she was over a decade younger than him, Kami was able to talk some sense into him more than once, show him how wrong he was about many things. Kami had taught him everything. It was for her that he tried his best. It was for her that he stayed in his family home as long as possible. It was for her that he befriended Megumi, seeing how well the two of them would get along and not being able to pass up the opportunity to find—probably—a lifelong friend for his sister.
And he found one.
Satoru was able to stay with Kami through the nights while she learned all about jujutsu sorcerers, he would bring her tea whenever she ran out of it, he would make her food when he heard her stomach clamoring for a snack. He would be the one to move her helpless body from her desk chair or the floor to her soft and comfortable bed so her back and neck wouldn't hurt the next morning.
He was the one who brought her breakfast every morning, for which he got up two hours earlier before her alarm clock. And when he was out, he would always send her a simple "have a nice day, don't forget to drink water" in the morning with some stupid meme or gif he found on the internet. It was the only thing Kami always woke up at 6:30am for, a silly and simple text message from her brother.
Let's also not forget the "good night, I love you little sister, sleep well" in the evening. Kami would never admit it, but she has screenshots of every single such message, printed out and tucked away in one of her binders, in case her phone breaks or gets lost.
In the end, Kami snapped. After all, how could she hate her brother, who would do anything to make her the happiest person in the world, who would do anything so that only his sister could have the best life, the one she deserved.
A soft knock on the door of her room snapped her out of her thoughts. She knew very well who it was. After all, he had said himself that as soon as he showed Yuuji around, he would come.
"You alive?" Her brother's familiar voice asked and Kami lifted her head from her pillow, smiling softly.
"How do you feel?"
"Like pulled straight from the grave," she muttered, and Satoru laughed, sitting down on the edge of her bed where she lay. "Itadori's been in his room since yesterday?" She asked, and her brother nodded. "Megumi?"
"He and Yuuji are already on their way to Harajuku where we're supposed to meet the fourth student," he replied, and Kami raised an eyebrow.
"Why didn't you go with them?"
"I was waiting for you," he smiled softly and started to speak before Kami had a chance. "And don't tell me you're not going. The fourth student is a girl, maybe you'll get along. Besides, you need to get out of this room eventually. And I don't mean leaving the room to move to Megumi's room or mine," he said as he noticed his sister opening her mouth to start defending herself. "Come on, I'll buy you a bubble tea on the way, okay?"
Kami glared at him for a good few seconds and finally sighed, which caused a big grin to spread across Satoru's face, which Kami smiled at, too.
With the help of her brother, the white-haired girl got out of bed and put on her feet, covered in black knee-high socks, mary-jane boots—the same colour as her socks—from her school uniform.
She quickly looked at herself in the mirror again, checking if her pleated mid-thigh skirt hadn't rolled up and if her short button down jacket, covering her perfectly white turtleneck, hadn't twisted anywhere. Adjusting her hood pinned to her jacket, she walked out the door that Satoru had opened for her, having previously put her phone in her pocket.
Just as Satoru had promised, they quickly bought her favorite strawberry bubble tea on the way and immediately headed towards the street they were supposed to meet at. As soon as they saw two familiar faces in the distance, Satoru raised his hand.
"Sorry for the wait!" He shouted and headed with Kami towards the two teenagers. "Your uniform made it in time, I see," he added when he saw a perfectly fitting uniform for Yuuji.
"Yeah, it's a perfect fit. Though it's slightly different from Fushiguro's. It has a hood, for one," Yuuji said, taking the red hood his uniform had in his hand.
"That's because the uniforms can be customised upon request," Satoru replied.
"Huh? But I never put in any requests."
"I was the one who put in the custom order. With a little help of our master," Satoru smiled, pointing at his sister, who was shorter than him and too focused on her bubble tea to get anything out of the conversation.
"Whatever, I guess," Yuuji replied.
"Be careful. Gojo-sensei has a tendency to do things like that," Megumi interjected, looking at his classmate out of the corner of her eye. "Most importantly, why are we meeting up in Harajuku?"
"Because it's what she asked for," said Satoru.
"Ahh! Popcorn! I want some!"
After a few minutes, Satoru poked his sister with his elbow and, as she raised her eyes at him, he pointed to something by the entrance to the street, or rather, someone.
There stood a redheaded girl, not too tall, tiring of some middle-aged man, but Kami couldn't hear what was going on through the crowd of people making noise around her. The short-haired girl had a very similar uniform to Kami, though this one had brown moccasins, black tights and a white shirt instead of black mary-jane shoes, knee socks and turtleneck.
"This is kinda embarrassing," Yuuji spoke up with his 2018 glasses on his nose and popcorn in one hand, in the other ice cream. Kami shook her head and closed her eyes, going back to drinking her bubble tea.
"So are you," Megumi heard and she snorted softly making the drink she was drinking fly up her nose.
As Kami tried to get rid of the sticky drink from her nose, the redhead approached them and began leading them to 400 Yen Corner where she could leave her luggage.
As the other freshman girl closed the locker with her things, she turned towards the rest of them and put her hand on her hip.
"Ok, once again," Satoru began and pointed his hand at the girl.
"Kugisaki Nobara. Be happy, boys. I'm the one woman in your group," she said, as if she hadn't noticed Kami standing next to her brother at all.
"And what am I? Guide dog?" Kami said, pulling away from her already almost finished drink. Nobara looked at the girl and her eyes lit up.
"Oh, hey! I didn't notice you. We will be great friends!" she said and returned her gaze to the two boys in her year.
"I'm Itadori Yuuji. I'm from Sendai!"
"Fushiguro Megumi."
"Kami Gojo. Guide dog."
After a few seconds in which Nobara looked like she was thinking hard about something, she finally sighed.
"I always get stuck with unfortunate circumstances," she said and sighed once more.
"She took one look and sighed," muttered Itadori.
"Are we going somewhere from here?" Megumi asked, turning his gaze to Satoru, who only laughed.
"We do have all four of you together. Not to mention, two of you are from the countryside," said Satoru, lifting his head proudly and throwing his arm around his sister's shoulders. "So of course we're going on a tour of Tokyo!"
Nobara and Itadori began shouting "Tokyo!", attaching themselves to Satoru, causing Kami to have to walk over to Megumi, throwing away an empty cup on the way.
"We're definitely not going on any tour," Kami muttered, and Fushiguro-kun nodded softly, knowing Gojo-sensei all too well.
"We love Tokyo!"
"TDL! I want to go to TDL!"
"Idiot! TDL's in Chiba! Let's go to Chinatown, Sensei!"
"Chinatown's in Yokohama!"
"Yokohama's part of Tokyo! Don't you know that? Look at a map!"
Kami, Satoru and Megumi were quietly watching the argument that was going on in front of them when the elder Gojo spoke up.
"I will now announce our destination!"
Nobara and Itadori knelt before Satoru at which Kami shook her head with her eyes closed and Megumi deadpanned at them.
"Roppongi!"
"Roppongi?!" Said Itadori and Nobara at the same time, looking at each other, incredibly pleased with what they heard.

A Review of Voltron DDP Comic: A Legend Forged (2008)
I knew the old Devil’s Due Publishing (DDP) comics for Voltron were lit…but the sequel, A Legend Forged, really resonated with me! This 5-issue comic series is DDP’s interpretation of the history behind the Voltron robot itself, and it wraps this lore within an adventure plot featuring our main pilots (Allura, Keith, Hunk, Lance, Pidge) in an alliance with Lotor.
I’ve meant to write a review about A Legend Forged for a while because I know that older Voltron comics aren’t always accessible. I think this one deserves some attention because it does things that I find just really refreshing after watching the 2016 Legendary Defender show. It also has some fun details that could have been source material for the world building and events in the 2016 VLD show.
-
The basic summary of this comic is that Team Voltron and Lotor are accidentally transported 1,200 years in the past after some classified time travel tech destabilizes in the middle of a fight. Powerless from the blast, they crash-land on a nearby planet, and they’re soon captured by people on the planet who have exceptionally advanced technology. Lotor agrees to a truce with Team Voltron to help find a way out of their prison, and back to their own time.
In arriving through the wormhole, however, they catch the attention of a very powerful group who are missing an important piece to complete their special defense project (the Voltron robot). The robot is being built in part by King Altarus, Allura’s ancestor, to fight off the villain in that ancient past—Empress Jain IX, Lotor’s evil great great (10X) grandmother, who is a sorceress hellbent on intergalactic domination.
Ultimately, Team Voltron and Lotor get caught up in the efforts to stop Empress Jain and assist King Altarus’s Council…and they discover some interesting things about themselves and about Voltron along the way!
-
I found A Legend Forged to be one entertaining, snarky shenanigan after another. Although it does source the 1984 character designs and backgrounds along with some references to Vehicle Voltron (which may be alienating to fans familiar only with VLD), I love that this comic deeply and openly explores what makes the Voltron franchise so identifiable and unique—its Arthurian legends/magic in the midst of an expansive space opera.
The comic is meant for slightly older audiences compared to VLD—it includes several instances of adult cursing, frightening images, some brief images of romance/non-graphic sensuality, and occasional graphic violence showing blood. I couldn’t find a publisher-recommended age for this comic on the book covers, but I think it might be T for ages 12 and older.
If you’re interested, a deeper overview of A Legend Forged is included under the cut!
___
At a high level, there’s certain things that just really attracted me to this comic, even though I’m usually not much of a comic reader:
THE WORLD BUILDING
The whole timeline distortion that takes them back 1,200 years is a direct consequence of humans attempting to back-engineer the mysterious Voltron robot. Within that back-engineering, they’d stumbled into creating a time machine:
(Photo Description: The city of Toronto in the future. Someone asks, “Time travel?” Coran replies, “Devised using reverse engineered technology from Lion Voltron, no doubt.” An alliance official responds, “Come on now, how would that be possible?” A second official responses, “Coran’s right. The way that Lion Voltron summons energy and weaponry is a mystery. We learned how to mimic the ability with the vehicle units, without really understanding it.”)
So there’s a lot of undertow here about just what exactly all these different parties (Earth/Galaxy Alliance, space pirates, Lotor) were planning to do with a time machine to begin with before it gets blown up in a battle over it. But there’s also something interesting happening here involving Fate/Destiny and plasticity of time itself.
At the very heart of this comic is the concept that the Voltron robot could not have been completed 1,200 years ago if Team Voltron and Lotor were not accidentally tossed back in time to help complete the project. And idk, I think that’s just pretty cool. It ties these lives of these characters together in a way that I don’t think I’ve seen in any other Voltron iteration—that they were meant to pilot Voltron, because their presence helped to unlock the final missing piece to bring it to life.
---
In addition, we get a really interesting look into the ancient past of the Voltron universe, back to the beginning of the first space empire. The comic’s big bad, Empress Jain IX, is an incredibly powerful and heartless sorceress of Drule heritage, from the planet Doon:
(Photo description: Empress Jain standing before the leader of a world she’s conquered, declaring, “And thus, the mighty fall! The powerful kneel at my feet! Behold the grandeur of your empress, and witness what happens to those who stand in her way!”)
But there’s always been this larger question in the Voltron franchise around King Zarkon’s unique, fish-like features compared to other Drule characters like Jain, and this comic answers that.
This is what the OG Zarkon looked like:
Compared to the ancient people of Korrinoth, who have similar ears and coloring as he does:
(Description: Keith says to the team, “I think we may be witnessing the beginning of King Zarkon’s people’s assimilation into the Drule Empire.”)
The planet that our protagonists crash-land on 1,200 years in the past is called Korrinoth. The people here had been recently conquered by Jain and share many similarities with the visual features of Zarkon. So this comic establishes that Zarkon has both Drule and Korrinite heritage. Unfortunately for Lotor, the Korrinites of the planet don’t acknowledge his Korrinite blood because he looks too Drule in comparison. So this comic reaches back on the hints that Lotor struggles to fit in with his own people…and it helps to explain why he’s captured along with Team Voltron:
(Photo description: Team Voltron and Lotor stand together, having been captured in a purple energy field functioning like jail bars.)
---
There’s also the concept that Voltron—just like the surrounding environment in Voltron franchise—is an amalgamation of science and magic. The comic’s big bad, Empress Jain, had discovered that her own dark sorcery arts could be challenged by the “lion gods,” who were demanding an increasing price be paid for her horrific conquering. In order to negate the lion gods’ power, Jain explicitly banned religious worship around them and any lion god iconography from her empire.
(Photo description: The dark entity Sarga says, “It is coming, and soon, that which may be your downfall. A twisted abomination of science and technology. The might of the Lion-Gods with the heart and mind of Man.” Jain says, “But I have banned worship of the Lions through the empire.”)
So the Voltron builders were reaching back to a very ancient, lost power that they were risking their lives to resurrect. The connection to a pantheon of lion gods helps to provide some logic around why the Voltron robot itself splits into lions—because it’s literally the symbol of these lost gods.
The visual design of Voltron is also reflected in the armor worn specifically by warriors fighting in the name of these banned gods:
(Photo description: A humanoid warrior wearing Voltron-based armor, coming to Team Voltron’s rescue at the command of the Council.)
So Voltron as a machine metaphorically stands as the Ultimate Warrior in humanoid form, supported by the individual lion gods.
---
Within the comic, it hints at some pretty intense religious discrimination—that Empress Jain was willing to arrest and torment even her own daughter, Azakhi for becoming a Lion Priestess:
(Photo description: Jain’s daughter, Azahki, is revealed to be a dirtied prisoner captured by Jain’s forces. She tells Team Voltron, “Do not fear my Drule appearance. I am a devout follower of your ways.”)
This background battle supports why Team Voltron and Lotor are instantly targeted by Jain’s forces when they crash-land on Korrinoth, bearing the banner of the lion gods in the form of Voltron.
Later on in the comic, we also see that the colors themselves represented the various domains of these lion gods:
(Photo description: An image of Voltron as it’s being built, with King Altarus narrating in the background, ““Yellow for win, red for fire, green for earth, blue for water, and at the center…the might blackness of space which houses all of reality.”)
So we really see Voltron pick up a lot more backstory to explain the robot itself.
--
We do get a deeper look as well into King Altarus and his Council.
King Altarus, Princess Allura’s ancestor, is the leader of the group. But the work involved in building Voltron doesn’t just rest with him like it did with Alfor in VLD. His council is just as equally if not more powerful than him in other ways.
In this panel, King Altarus introduces his four other team members as the most powerful scientists or sorcerers of their respective planet:
(Photo description: An introduction of the five council members of Altarus: “Cybrus hails from a world of sentient machines…More than a computer, he is also sorcerer to rival any other. The striking beauty to my right is Heket. Born of a nomadic race who travels the galaxy bestowing gifts of knowledge to primitive worlds. She is also the most brilliant scientist of her people. Phelos is a brilliant sci-mage from the neighboring solar system. If you are truly who you say, you may already know legends of our final ally. From a primitive world, but master of the most advance wizardry in the galazy: Merlin.”)
The combination of Altarus, Cybrus, Heket, Phelos, and Merlin all echo the 2016 Legendary Defender’s backstory—in which leaders of various people united together for the greater good of their galaxy. Once again, we have five unique planets represented in the Voltron effort—but in this case, it even includes Earth. This helps to explain part of why Voltron’s original design had very medieval attributes.
Maybe some would think it’s a bit hokey that the OG builders included the actual Arthurian figure of Merlin, the wizard? Idk, I think it’s kind of a fun way to connect Voltron’s ancient, magical past to Earth as well, and it suggests that Merlin was preparing or called by the others to help prepare for a future of advanced warfare. I’ve always wondered why the OG Voltron looked so medieval with the crests and the swords and such—and actually, it being built in part by a medieval human wizard would help to explain that!
--
We also see in the DDP comics a very heavy evolution to Allura’s character and to the world building within the Voltron franchise itself. She’s no longer just a princess who knows how to fight—she’s actively a Clairvoyant, with untapped power. King Altarus acknowledges, and the other Council members sense it, that Princess Allura has way more internal magic than she even knows about herself:
(Photo description: Council member Heket says to King Altarus, “I have a feeling about the girl [Allura]. Her aura is oddly similar to your own.”)
We also see that the dark entity Sarga recognizes this in her as well:
(Photo description: The dark entity Sarga says to Empress Jain, “The visitors…they each have a link to this monstrosity. However, the blood of only one of them pulses with the magic of Arus. The one called Allura! She is the one! She must be—” Jain cuts in, “The host!” And Sarga confirms, “Yes, with Princess Allura, Sarga will live in this realm once more. With her, we can control Voltron.”)
I feel like this magic probably helped to set the tone for the Princess Allura we meet in the 2016 Legendary Defender reboot, who ultimately got the opportunity to grow into the powers that are hinted at here in this previous iteration.
---
I do also like this comic because the protagonists (with the exception of Pidge who is 16) are adults, and they’re a little more mature in their decisions and interests.
Like, for example, the Lance in this comic has a much more extensive sensitivity to and interest in culture. Instead of it being Hunk bonding with aliens through food, we see Lance as the diplomat, bonding with Jain’s daughter Azahki, just by asking her questions:
(Photo description: Lance and Jain’s daughter, Azahki, sitting at a table and eating. Lance says, “That hit the sport. I was frickin’ starving.” Azahki says, “After being held prisoner for so long, I had forgotten what real food tastes like. So much time was wasted…so much life. Just sitting in a cell because of my beliefs. I…I’m sorry, Lance. This should be a nice evening, and I’m bringing the mood down.”)
(Photo description: Lance replies, “Actually, I’m fascinated to learn more about the followers of the Lions, and about you. Like, where you come from. You feel free to talk about whatever comes to mind.” Azahki responds then, “You’re too kind.”)
I think along with this, we see a more nuanced view into the Drule themselves. Azahki, as both a Drule and as Empress Jain’s daughter, has turned away from the evil deeds of the empire and has suffered dearly for trying to do the right thing. This falls in line with DDP’s dedication in the worldbuilding to show that not all Drule are bad.
--
We also see some very interesting, Honervian backstory relating to Empress Jain’s dark powers. Like VLD Honerva, Jain is in part backed by an ancient spirit/power she likes to “talk” to. She calls on it as the “Mother of Power.” This creepy creature is named Sarga in the comics:
(Photo description: Jain summons Sarga: “Mother of Power, Great Spirit, I summon thee.” The dark entity Sarga manifests and says, “Yesss, sweet Jain! You know my name! Feel free to speak it. Have you found the Host?” Jain replies, “Not yet, great Sarga. But the search continues. To date, my body is the only one that could sustain you in our realm.” Sarga says, “Jain. Do not be so simple-minded. It’s only your mortal shell.” Jain retorts, “One that I rather like, thank you.”)
Sarga is pushing for Jain to give up her mortal body entirely so that Sarga can walk the mortal plane, but they don’t see eye to eye on this. Jain likes having her own body. Even so, Sarga knows that she has to protect her investment in Jain, and so she’s the one who plants a devious idea in Jain’s head—that she could potentially use the Voltron from the future to destroy the Voltron of the past, and therefore reestablish her supremacy over the lion gods and their legacy.
Tbh, I visually get a LOT of vibes from Jain relating to VLD’s Honerva character? Down to the long stringy hair and gold eyes…and she really does look like a female version of Lotor, tbh, lol.
(Photo description: Jain leaning in a circle of candles, exhausted from summoning Sarga, who has referred to Voltron. Jain murmurs to herself, “Pow..power. There is power in that name.”)
I think what I like about Jain as a big bad, though, is that she’s legit just an evil person. She doesn’t have an abuse backstory, like what so many content creators like to reference as the reason for someone going insane/evil. She’s clearly very talented and very powerful and very in control, and she’s using those abilities in all the wrong ways just because she can.
Given DDP’s contributions to the Voltron franchise with its female villains (Merla, Jain), I almost can’t believe that the 2016 VLD show didn’t carry these characters forward but instead raised up the all-new Honerva as “needed female villain rep.” But I can definitely see the echoes of Jain in the Honerva that we see throughout VLD.
I also really, really see similarities in how Jain is willing to use her own daughter, Azahki, as a pawn for her own aims. And by the end of the comic, Jain eventually accomplishes bringing Sarga into the mortal plane by sacrificing her own daughter’s body. This pretty hauntingly echoes the lack of maternal instinct seen in Honerva in VLD and Honerva’s malicious interest in and use of Lotor, even post-death in s8.
I feel like I relived Honerva’s interactions with Lotor in s8 when I saw how Jain acts with her own daughter, Azahki:
(Photo description: Azahki has been shot in the battle. Jain kneels down to her and cries, “Daughter. My only daughter.” Azahki says, “Mother...you…you’re crying? I…I’m sorry…you didn’t give me… a choice.” Jain pleads, “You can’t do this, Azahki, not now. After being gone for so long and now…” But then Jain has a complete switch of demeanor. She stands up and declares, “Now you’ve ruined everything! Everything!” Azahki, bewildered, says, “What?” And Jain yells, “I should have killed you in your crib!”)
Another association with Honerva is that Honerva/Haggar killed the original paladins. Likewise, it is Jain who takes down the Council one by one:
(Photo description: Jain breaks into the Council, hand glowing with power and fallen warriors around her, saying, “How could someone with such feeble defenses have eluded me for so long, Altarus? I give you credit for that, at least.”)
(Photo description: Jane is surrounded by the dead bodies of Merlin and Heket. She says, “Now, to finish this.”)
So I guess I’m just fascinated by Jain as a villain and find her similarities with Honerva interesting. In Jain’s case, however, there’s absolutely nothing to be sympathetic with her on, lol.
--
In terms of Lotor’s part:
I think this comic represents probably the most actively hopeful iteration of him that I’ve seen in the Voltron franchise? Like, Dynamite Comics had Lotor moving to ally with Team Voltron to bring down the rift creatures in a massive alliance, but those comics were canceled before we could see the whole story that Brandon Thomas intended. Here, we have a whole, complete story in which Lotor actively does good deeds and lives, wow.
(I didn’t think that was, like, allowed in this franchise, lol?)
I do think it’s really interesting that here, Lotor comes face-to-face with just pure, unadulterated evil—and it scares him. Just like in VLD, this Lotor is forced to watch Jain decimate an entire planet and enslave its people. Despite being canonically “evil,” Lotor does not take this level of destruction very well:
(Photo description: Empress Jain speaking to an underling, saying, “For now, rid this planet of its luscious environment and warp home.”)
(Photo description: The planet is set ablaze by Jain’s forces. Lotor is looking on from a different ship. He is unsettled by Jain’s power and says, “My god.” His prisoner that he’s watching on Team Voltron’s request (the space pirate Captain Stride), teases, “Nothing like a little global decimation to build character, eh, Lotor?” And Lotor warns, “Stride,” with an upset look on this face.)
His motivations for helping out and connecting with both Team Voltron and King Altarus’s council do start with just wanting to save his own neck. But as the comic progresses, we see him taking larger and larger risks to help protect the team, and he responds more emotionally to the stakes being faced by other allies.
Jain’s level of evil, and her later attempts to target Princess Allura as a host body for the dark entity Sarga, are what really push Lotor out of the antagonist/villain role into the position of antihero. And I like this exploration of him because Lotor is a really fascinating character in the franchise and usually always a wild card. Like, he has the capacity to play both sides and be unpredictable.
And it’s interesting too that this comic even opens up by acknowledging that. In the beginning, King Altarus and his council are watching Team Voltron and Lotor recalibrate from their crash-landing on Korrinoth. King Altarus notes that Lotor is evil, but that he’s capable of doing good…because of his love for Allura:
(Photo description: King Altarus judging the team: “The girl has a clairvoyance about her, but doesn’t even realize it. I sense something noble about all of them…save for the Drule who should not be trusted. Although his apparent fondness for the woman may cause him to fight his true evil nature at least for a while.”)
Later in the comic, it’s King Altarus himself who leans on Lotor when he thinks all hope is lost. And it’s Lotor who holds him up and tries to take down Jain:
(Photo description: King Altarus leans upon Lotor and mourns, “She’s…she’s done it, Lotor. She’s ruined our chances. Five generations…for nothing.” Lotor has raised a blaster and replies, “Not without going through me first.”)
So we really see this comic actively allow Lotor’s character to do things outside of the typical bounds of a villain. The very person who called him inherently evil is the one wailing to him and counting on him to save the day, lol.
We also see echoes of VLD Lotor’s pride in this comic. The DDP Lotor is also a man of mixed heritage and is very proud of who and what he is.
(Photo description: Lotor is on the battlefield, having slain an enemy who’d called them pathetic. Lotor responds, “Pathetic? My noble blood begs to differ.”)
So I liked that once again, Lotor is actually proud of who he is even though the world around him actively tries to devalue him. I think that’s been something meaningful about the Lotor character that a lot of people have connected to.
In his efforts to assist Team Voltron in reclaiming their own recharged Voltron lions (so that Jain can’t get them), Lotor is actually a very helpful ally as well, and a skilled warrior. So it was fun to see panels of Team Voltron and Lotor fighting together, side by side.
--
THE CLIMAX AND RESOLUTION
--
Ultimately, the evil Empress Jain tries to take over the Voltron from the future, in realizing that Allura has deep, spiritual connections to the machine. She agrees that this makes Allura the perfect host body for the dark entity Sarga, and as their way to control the robot. And so she enacts the rituals to possess Allura:
(Photo description: Allura’s features are mutating unnaturally as Sarga begins to posses her. In the background, Jain calls, “Don’t fight it, child. Don’t fight the honor of becoming a god.” Someone in the background, revealed later to be Lotor, calls out, “No! You can’t do this!”)
With Jain threatening Allura’s life, Lotor steps up to defend her, still holding up the battered King Altarus:
(Photo description: Lotor yells, “No! Not Allura!” And he shoots Jain through the shoulder.)
(Photo description: Jain snaps, “Lotor! How dare you attack your own kind! I’ll smite my own daughter, let alone a pissant distant grandson!”)
Ultimately, Lotor’s decision to shoot his grandma (what is it with this franchise and matricide/patricide lol) results in Jain being distracted long enough for the combined spiritual/soul energies of Allura, the previous Council members, and Altarus to bring “life” to Voltron.
This completes Voltron as a spiritual being as well—that it’s sentient and not just a robot, but imbued with the hopes and impulses for a defender against the evil attacking them.
(Photo description: Voltron awakens as a sentient robot and stands to move against Jain.)
Realizing that she has lost, Jain flees in a poof of magic—with her daughter, Azahki, oddly disappearing too. The comic ends for them on an unsettling note that Sarga has in fact slipped through to the mortal realm…by choosing Azahki instead of Allura as her host body:
(Photo description: Jain kneels and cries, “Oh mighty Sarga, I humbly beseech thee. Forgive my failures. Forgive my ability to bring you into our world. I beg you to be given a second chance! I vow to you we will see this through.” From behind, someone says, “Don’t be so harsh, mother.” Jain turns around and asks, “Who dares?” A woman in a cloak appears and says, “You may have failed to give me Voltron’s power, my child. But do not fear.” The woman is revealed to be the possessed body of Azahki, Jain’s daughter. Through her body, Sarga says, “I found a body that will do just fine for now.”)
However, we don’t see this thread explored any further. Shortly after the battle, the Galaxy Alliance manages to rebuild a temporal manipulation device to lock in on the missing Team Voltron and Lotor, and pull them back through time.
(Photo description: A strange flying machine appears. Someone asks, “What…what is it?” Allura echoes, “What’s it doing?” Lotor peers at it curiously and says, “I believe it’s scanning us.” The comic panels show the device scanning and identifying people to send back to modern times.)
And so, eventually, this wayward team makes it back home, with the final panels suggesting the Garrison had to complete a couple of temporal jumps to do it.
FUN LITTLE PIECES ALONG THE WAY
The comic itself had some interesting and funny scenes in it, including the following:
Please enjoy this image of a boi having tamed a dinosaur in the middle of an active battle:
(Photo description: Prince Lotor sitting atop a large, dinosaur-like creature that he’s tamed, calling joyfully to the paladins, “You can put your toy away, Pidge. I know where to find the lions.”)
Pidge jokes about Hunk and Lance:
(Photo description: Hunk had saved Lance from a shot. In running past them, Pidge calls, “Keep moving, guys! There’ll be time for spooning later.”)
Some time-traveling paradox humor:
(Photo description: Lotor shooting an ancient Drule, “Hope you’re not one of my forefathers.”)
Some Keith and Lance badgering:
(Photo description: Lance complains, “Keith Kogane seriously isn’t going to lecture me about battlefield romance, is he?”)
Did VLD get the name Kaltor from this comic??? Because Kalthor sounds pretty darn similar to Kaltor from VLD:
(Photo description: Jain calling out for an underling, “Kalthor! Sigh. Kalthor, this effort is beneath me. Extract the information I seek.”)
ALSO BLESS, THIS COMIC LETS ALLURA CUSS:
(Photo description: Princess Allura raises a blaster to use, but it doesn’t work. She says, “What the--? Damn! Now is not the time for you to malfunction! And I do not know how to fix a 1,200-year-old—”)
This comic probably is also the singular place in the DDP comics that offers any evidence whatsoever that Lotor and Allura actually did have positive childhood experiences together prior to his father decimating Arus, helping to explain Lotor’s curious loyalty to Allura throughout:
(Photo description: Lotor standing before Allura and saying, “I knew you’d pull through, Allura. Speaking of treehouses, do you remember climbing the Arusion orchids in the royal gardens when we were children?” Allura responds, “Yes…of course I do. I…”)
And finally, this comic has no issues whatsoever with making fun of itself or the concept of robotic lions:
(Photo description: A space pirate complains to Lotor, “Think about it! How you think this place ends up looking like it does in our time? Looking like Planet Doom?! Meanwhile, the Kitty Cat Club up there gets out without a scratch!”)
VOLTRON IS THE KITTY CAT CLUB, 2008 CONFIRMED
-
CONCLUSION
-
The 5-part comic A Legend Forged (2008) adds an incredible amount of history and lore to the Voltron franchise. It gave me some things that I personally was really craving out of this franchise—including some logic behind the lion imagery, a legit alliance between previously warring groups that doesn’t just end in catastrophe, some adult snark and some good-old fashioned silliness, some deeper exploration into dark entities/spirits, and also just a really powerful villainess that you can love to hate.
I think the comic ultimately took on the theme of Strength in Unity and fulfilled the concept that people really can work together. Even if the Team Voltron and Lotor and Council alliance was all just temporary, it was still nice to see that alliance come through for the greater good of the universe, instead of leading to more mass insanity like it did in VLD….
I liked that in this iteration, Voltron stood as a collective effort on the part of various worlds who were oppressed by Empress Jain. That helps to tone down the savior complex inherent in the franchise, that at least here, Voltron wasn’t one nation’s attempt to play police for all other people.
From a critical perspective, if you read carefully, there are some instances where you can tell that various alien races are prejudiced against each other and discriminate on the basis of appearance and religion, and even Team Voltron feeds into this at times in their initial assumption that Korrinites are a barbarian race when in fact they’re very intelligent and advanced. These aspects are just not fully reflected on within this comic, but they definitely feed into the conflict as we experience it 1,200 years in the past. Interestingly enough, the comic also makes fun of Team Voltron members who are from Earth as being “primitive” too. So I guess the DDP world does function in a “problematic” state where all of these alien races are struggling with how to interact well with one another. I’m not sure if that baseline would be a potential trigger for someone just entering this series, so I wanted to call it out here.
I do also occasionally find comics hard to read because of the all-caps print and because comics will switch back and forth between past and present, with only small visual markers to warn you. So I don’t think these comics are designed in the most accessible way. But that could just be me.
---
Overall, I think A Legend Forged ranks as one of my more favorite comic iterations of Voltron. It definitely has some differences from both the 1984 and 2016 shows, but it pulls on enough shared content to remain accessible. And while it was a quick read, it felt pretty tightly constructed. I would have liked to see more aftermath and epilogue, but I feel thankful that the story got an ending and that both Team Voltron and Lotor are shown being transported back home. The comic’s similarities and differences compared to VLD made it fun to read and analyze as well.
So yeah, if you get the chance to try reading it yourself, I recommend it! And if you’ve made it to the end of this very long post, thank you for reading!

Alice in distress,
may the Cheshire cat be blessed.
Community service your mom said, it’ll be great for publicity, which is all she cares about. Your mom is the part of the community of your neighborhood, and let’s just say she loves fulfilling her duties so much that it’s become an obsession of hers to be seen on the local papers for the activities she attend, something like a minor celebrity. Sadly, the moms here all love her, your mom wanted to work a reputation up, since your father left her for someone younger, your mother needed something else to fill the emptiness and lack of accomplishment she’s felt because of him. Hence why you’re trekking in the forest of your town, trying to pick up as much rubbish as you could that were thrown by irresponsible hikers.
“This is all you fault Y/N, if it weren’t for you, we won’t be stuck in this shitty hike in such a cold weather.”
Becca was part of the so called ‘friend group’ of this neighborhood of yours that your mom forced you to make friends with just because she was friends with her mom. You don’t bother answering her nor the deathly glares from her clique to you, you didn’t have any real friends in this town, other than one or two boys you played games with.
It was until the middle of the hike when your mom called for a break, the community members all started to sit down and have a picnic.
“Remember to clean up after yourselves,” your mom said.
You chewed on a sandwich you packed begrudgingly, wishing you had hot food instead, cursing at yourself for not packing food into a thermos. When you finished, you decided to venture further away on your own, unable to stand the not so silent whispers behind your back. You decided to sit underneath a sturdy looking oak tree that looked older than any other tree here. Once you leant back, your back started falling, for some reason, the stem of the tree opened up and swallowed you in, the hole you fell in closing as you fell deeper into the hole. You didn’t scream, you were too scared, you knew you would be dead once you hit ground, so you closed your eyes and waited.
Instead of hitting ground, you fell into something that felt softer than cotton, with a blue glow like the clouds on the sky. Were you dead? You looked around, you were still in the forest, but the forest looked different here. Were these the unexplored parts of the hill?
“How graceful, Alice has nothing on you, sweetheart.”
You screamed, trying to get out of the ‘cloud’, but all you could do was trash in it because of how it’s too soft and big.
“Easy, don’t panic. I’m right here.”
Suddenly, a man around your age appeared next to you, his smile bright and somewhat familiar looking. That’s when the memory came back to you.
“You’re just like the Cheshire cat in Wonderland. Where am I? And who are you?”
“You’re in the other side of the forest, or the whole world, depends on how you see your position geographically. I’m Xiao De Jun, but you can call me Xiao Jun, and I’m a fairy. Oh and another detail? I eat humans.”
“Wait what? What do you mean the other side? What do you mean fairies eat humans?”
“Well, let’s just say fairies aren’t all Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, those stories are told just to induce naive humans like you to fall in our traps. But you’re a pretty one, and you didn’t scream like a darned banshee just now, I might just keep you.”
“Keep me? Get us out of this thing, who said I was an object?!”
“I’ll get us out once we reach my palace, now hold on tight sweetheart, and please don’t scream like a mad woman, or I’ll eat you up in a gulp like the others.”
Xiao Jun booped your nose with his index finger before he leant back with an cynical smile on his face. The cloud floated up high, letting you see the scenery below you clearly. There were cities just like the human world, but instead of metal and blocks, these were held up by wood and magic, because there was no way a building as tall as the Eiffel Tower require no bolts and nuts, and you doubt its transparent like bubble had any glass panes.
"It’s beautiful.”
“It’s nothing compared to the beautiful lady beside me.”
You could feel your cheeks heating up at his flirty remarks. You quickly thought up of something to divert the topic, not being used to receiving compliments out of the blue.
“You said you have a palace? Are you a prince?”
“I’m a king, my father just passed away.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, Xiao Jun.”
“For a human you’re quite sentimental, cleaning the forest, not threatening to kill me even though you have a knife in your pocket, and not screaming at me like a mad woman. You’re quite different from what I expected.”
“What do you...
“That’s our stop, less chatter and get a move on, or no mint chocolate ice cream for you.”
Calling Xiao Jun weird would be an understatement, his personality was like a cross of between Marry Poppins and Willy Wonka, and his palace was nothing far from that either, fortress painted with pastel tones, and that fountain was definitely chocolate, the windows looked like panes of thin candy, while the draw bridge was shaped like a milk cracker. The swimming pool at the back looked like it was filled with different flavours of fanta.
“Are you the witch from Hansel and Gretel?”
“Do I look like an old hag?”
Instead of entering from the main entrance, the cloud took you to the back of the castle where there was a balcony which overlooked the pool and the garden. Once you landed, the cloud disappeared beneath you, but Xiao Jun’s quick reflexes caught you before you fell on your butt.
“Welcome to my chambers. I forgot to ask for your name sweetheart.”
“Y/N,” you said as breathlessly, still in shock from your near fall.
Xiao Jun’s room was huge, the walls were mint green while the furniture were all made of dark oak with gold accents, just like his favourite ice cream flavour. You looked up to see a beautiful chandelier that defied the laws of gravity. The candles as well as the whole structure of the chandelier was shaped like an overturned tiered cake, each tier turning at its own pace with different colours flickering on the candles. The bed was just like the cloud you travelled on, just bigger and in a shade of pastel pink that made it look like cotton candy.
“You must really like your sweets.”
“The only human food that actually tastes good. Make yourself comfortable, it’s not like you’re leaving.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m keeping you.”
“You can’t do that! I don’t belong to you!”
“It’s written in the stars that you’ll be my queen, and I don’t have to force you. You’re going to stay.”
“Why would you know that?”
“Because I’ve been watching you and your fate in our stars, you lead an unhappy life in the mortal world, living like a balloon which lost its string, wandering aimlessly, slowly deflating just like your personality. When was the last time you truly enjoyed yourself without your mother giving you disapproving looks? What happened to your dream of being a writer? What happened when you said you wanted to go out for your birthday? What happened when you told her about your anxiety? Oh right, she called you a freak.”
Xiao Jun wasn’t shouting the words in your face, in fact it was gentle like an angel’s singing, yet what he said drizzled into your heart like sweet poison. You let out a chocked sob, you felt naked under his scrutinisation. Xiao Jun observed your life under a microscope, knowing you better than yourself.
“How do you know all of this?”
“I’ll show you.”
Xiao Jun wiped your tears with his expensive button up, the tears making the blue silk turn inky black. He then took your hand in his, guiding you out of his room into a room down the same hallway. Compared to the other odd looking fancy doors, this was bare of any jewels or gold. Xiao Jun turned the knob and led you in the dimly lit room, the room only had a large mirror with red candles on its sides.
“Show me, Lee Hyenji.”
That was your mother’s name.
The mirror flickered a few times before showing you the image of your mother.
“Where is that dumb girl? Always day dreaming and never getting things done. Wandering on her own, I’m just waiting for the day she leaves me like that useless father of hers.”
“Show me Becca Park.”
“I’m soo glad she’s lost, we don’t need to deal with her just to make our mothers happy anymore. She didn’t like hanging out with us anyways.”
Xiao Jun’s eyes flickered to yours to see your reaction, instead of holding sadness like he thought it would’ve been, your eyes were empty, the images on the mirror reflecting in your eyes like shadows in a murky lake.
“Why aren’t you angry?”
“Because they’re right.”
“No, they’re not. Mirror, show me Saved Memories.”
The mirror played images of you working on your short stories, snippets of you singing along your favourite song, as well as videos of you learning a dance.
“You shine like the brightest star in the galaxy sweetheart. Don’t let ducks call a swan ugly. They’re not even in your league, darling.”
“Am I?”
“You don’t need my confirmation, you can see it as well, maybe a flicker here and there, but those little flickers will grow into a flame if you leave that life of yours. Don’t think too much about it, come, have a shower, I’ll show you to your room.”
Xiao Jun took you down the hall into your room, which was in front of his.
“I made it just like the bedroom in your world, so there shouldn’t be a problem with figuring out the shower. That laptop is yours, as well as those books, they’re the ones you already have and ones that you always wanted to read. The internet’s password is your birthday, yes we have internet access here. I painted the walls with the shade of blue you love, the bed is lilac, since you love that colour as well. There’s clothes from your own wardrobe as well as our clothes, it might be a bit fancy, but you might like it.”
Xiao Jun turned into such a sucker for you, the ‘I eat humans’ was such a front, you couldn’t help but smile at his dorkiness.
True to what Xiao Jun said, the shower was just like a regular shower, and the clothes in the wardrobe were nicely prepared to fit your size, making you wonder how he knew even these little details.
You went out and knocked on his door, Xiao Jun was out by the third knock, his hair now in yellow curls.
“What’s with the hair?”
“This is my natural hair colour, didn’t want to scare you too much just now. Though we really do eat humans, just the hearts, the hearts taste exquisite, according to the old fairies, and only if they threaten to develop that piece of forest. We used to eat humans all the time, until my father put a ban on it, didn’t want to look suspicious.”
There was a look of horror on your face.
“Trust me, only the old fairies eat humans, we prefer animals most times.”
You let out the breath of air you were holding in.
“This is my own private dining room, and tonight we would be having steak and ox tail soup, no humans.”
You manage to let out a laugh at his odd humour, starting to feel more at ease in his presence.
The two of you ate and drank wine, talking about his life as a royalty in his fairy kingdom.
“My mom told me I would have wings, I was so scared I checked my back every night before I slept, until I realised no one had wings and that it was just something made up in the tales.”
After dinner, the two of you danced ungracefully, the wine making your head light and footsteps a mess, giggling at each other’s mistake. After the two of you got tired, Xiao Jun carried you into his room.
He placed you on top of a couch, taking a seat beside you to admire the beautiful stars in the clear night sky.
“Would you like to try fairy dust?’
“It makes you fly? Like Peter Pan?”
“That is only one usage of fairy dust, we eat it as well. Wait let me show you.”
Xiao Jun took your hand and led you to his walk in wardrobe, it was just as big as the room he gave you, but what caught your attention was a mini pool, but instead of liquid, it was filled with swirling sparkling dust.
“Oh my god.”
Since you were drunk, you did the dumbest yet most logical thing ever, jumping into the pool. The dust made you bounce on an invisible force.
“Why am I not flying?”
“You have to give directions in your head, but I wouldn’t recommend doing that, I wouldn’t want to call medic when you hit your head.”
“Right...Jump in, join me!”
Xiao Jun shook his head in disbelief, but jumped in with a smile on his face regardless. Xiao Jun walked to your direction, stopping right in front of you.
“Breath it in.”
You did as he said, the fairy dust making you feel happy and free, as well as a warm feeling in your stomach that you can’t put your finger on once you look at Xiao Jun,, your eyes scanning his beautiful physique. Xiao Jun breathed in the dust after you, his eyes diluting into a darker shade of brown, his senses picking up little things about you that he didn’t before, like the plump of your lips, the curve of your hips under that tight skirt.
“Y/N, I want you.”
Xiao Jun kissed you with fervour, his tongue dipping into your welcoming mouth. Instead of pushing him away like he thought, you kissed him with just as much passion, your hands starting to linger under his shirt. Xiao Jun started to unbutton your top, throwing it out of the pool.
“No bra?”
“This isn’t the mortal world, there aren’t any sex predators here.”
“What about me?”
“This is for you, my king.”
Xiao Jun didn’t know whether this was you talking, or the fairy dust in your system. Xiao Jun marked up the length of your neck, purple flowers blooming in his wake as you started taking off his shirt and pants.
“Why the rush, love?”
“I need you, please.”
The amount of slick flowing onto your legs was too much to be normal, you didn’t know what side effects the dust has, but you just needed relief, and only Xiao Jun could give that to you. Xiao Jun took off your skirt and panties, smiling at that pretty piece of ruined silk in his hands.
“Wonderful.”
Xiao Jun let his hands travel southwards as his lips engulf your breast in his mouth, nibbling and sucking away like a new born, as well as leaving a mark near your nipple, the slight possessiveness sending shivers down your back. Your hands curl in Xiao Jun’s soft locks as he pushes a finger into you, when he could feel how wet you were, he decided to push two more in, curling his fingers at your sweet spot, making you cry out his name breathlessly.
“Xiao Jun, more please. I need you inside me.”
You grinded onto his bare cock, his pre cum smearing over your slit, egging him to slide inside you.
Xiao Jun, pushed inside you in one go, your wet walls welcoming him. The action made both of you moaning in sync, lust filled relief washing over the both of you, making both of you crave for more. He started moving once you adjusted to his length, you could feel every vein and curve of his length as he bottoms out inside of you. Xiao Jun pushed himself closer to you, feeling you nipples against his own as he thrusted inside of you, the friction making your head spin from pleasure. Xiao Jun couldn’t believe it, after so many years of waiting, he finally had you in his arms, withering under his pleasurable touch. Xiao Jun slides a hand from your hips down to your clit, rubbing quick circles over it. Whimpers of his name fall from your lips like a beautiful piece of music, you were nearing your high as you felt the build up of an orgasm as your toes start to curl, your legs wrapped tighter around Xiao Jun’s waist as your head falls onto his shoulder, the overwhelming pleasure binding your body with his as he continues his thrusts, pace quickening once he felt you nearing the edge. Xiao Jun lifts you higher to thrust into you at a better angle, his tip hitting your sweet spot with every thrust, making you scream his name as your nails dug down his back, the pain mixing with the pleasure fuels Xiao Jun’s desire to absolutely ruin you under his touch.
“Cum for me, Y/N. I know you’re close.”
When you didn’t answer his request, Xiao Jun snapped his hips against yours at an even quicker pace, the speed of his thrusts inhuman, making your head swirl in pleasure as little bits of saliva drip from your lips down your throat as you throw you head back, the sight of the marks Xiao Jun left behind from earlier pushing his need for release. Once Xiao Jun wrapped a hand around your beautiful neck, you lost it. You couldn’t even scream as the pleasure was overwhelming all your senses, blinding white light behind your closed lids, your mind chanting his name like a mantra. Xiao Jun let out a beautiful moan once he felt your walls closing around his length in a vice grip, sending him over the edge as he paints your walls a milky white, his pearly white teeth biting down your shoulder to muffle his noises.
Once your orgasm subsides, you collapsed into Xiao Jun’s arms, energy drained completely by the handsome fairy. Xiao Jun carried you into his bed with the assistance of fairy dust, glad that he didn’t need to wobble into bed supporting your weight as well as his. He adjusted the pillows and blanket to accommodate your comfort, slipping in beside you once he was done, taking you into his warm embrace. Only one thought in his head.
‘You’re going to be with me for eternity, and nothing is going to take you away from me, my love, just like what the stars told me.’
