Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.

what to expect from CURSED LANDS

Prequel of "Loren the amazon princess", but a lot of characters and events seem to be added to the game just to remind you of "Loren the Amazon princess"

Visual novel (dialogue and choices) with turn based combat

not voiced

The gameplay is mainly: visit location, talk with companions and characters, make choices, fight enemies. Some fights can be avoided with skills checks.

The world is fantasy-like, medieval fantasy with elves, nagas, orcs, amazons (women warriors society) and dwarves

You can only play as an elf (male or female) with some change in your character creation, even if your character model is actually rarely used in game (the dialogue will only use the character model of the character or companion you are talking with, which I think makes it feels less immersive than "Loren the Amazon princess")

The plot is pretty simple: You are hired to prepare a group of adventurers and warriors to fix the problem of the mysterious vampires castle

You will have a fixed amount of time (1 month) in days before the main story continues, and during this time you can train, recruit companions, change/buy equipment, do companions quests

The story is relatively linear. You do not choose when to talk with your companions, but while skipping days the change to dialogue with them will appear on specific moments

There are in total 10 companions

Dialogue choices with your companions will increase your relationship with them (friendship or romance)

I felt like a lot of the dialogue was a bit useless information and I ended up skipping a lot, also you cannot dismiss your companions, you will have to recruit them all

I'd say most of the game is visual novel oriented and companions oriented. Most of the dialogue is there so you can learn about your companions

Most of the dialogue is fixed, your character will answer on their own and only a smaller part of it will be a choice of what to say

There are multiple same sex romances and bisexual romances: Vaeril, Nuala, Sylrissa and Enok can be romanced by any gender. Leena (amazon female warrior) and Jasper (pirate man) can only be romanced by same-sex characters.

The game also has an epilogue that summarize what happened to your companions and a lot of stuff about Loren (because this is best played if you really love the Loren game)

plot? Very thin plot. You have to create a team to destroy a mysterious vampire villain. gameplay? visual novel, rpgs, jrpg-like, turn based fighting characters? The characters are definitely the best part of the game, mainly the companions (non-companions characters are not particularly important, I think in total it is four or five of them) sadness level? none

the gang saw swansea napping on the couch and decided to mess with him slightly. curly sat down first and quickly realized swansea is a space heater, especially when asleep, and daisuke laid down on him too. after the guys got cozy, daisuke invited anya to join the shenanigans, and she got a cushion to lay on with daisuke cuz they're besties <3

swansea later woke up and found himself woefully trapped
