claudia from interview with a vampire, bcs my mom thought she was cute in the movie (and i still haven't seen it even when i wanna, shame on me).

can't say for sure, but definitely not too long ago. i cry quite easily in general, and with fiction in particular.

no, and i don't think i will.

i go to the gym for the dance activities or yoga, but that's pretty much it.

yeah, when joking and so (aka when it's obvious i'm not being serious).

dunno? maybe the eyes and if they seem nice.

happy endings all the way. i'm picky with scary movies bcs jumpscares make me anxious alsjf.

i think i write good (or at least it's one of the things i'm 100% confident about myself), and i'm kinda witty when it comes to making puns.

For this ask, I’ll be answering for Aelfric, since he’s the one I’ve written the most for. There will be “””spoilers””” for Dragonhearted since I’m not likely to ever finish that at this point 🫠

3. What is your OC’s fatal flaw? Is he aware of this flaw?

I would say Aelfric’s fatal flaw is the same as mine (I swear he wasn’t a self-insert when I started writing him). That is to say, he is incredibly prideful in that he holds himself as personally responsible for the well-being of those around him. This is why he suffers so heavily from survivor’s guilt, as he believes he should’ve been strong enough to avert tragedy. Is he aware of this? Absolutely not. Maybe if I ever finish his story, but not at the current moment.

17. What is the worst thing you have put him through story-wise? As written, we could talk about his village burning down, losing his adoptive parents, or watching his last hope and everyone under his command be annihilated by their enemies. There’s also the Battle of Aeonia. However, I’d say the worst bit was the moment where he believes that he was too late to save Millicent at the church. If that had been the case, that would’ve very much been his ultimate breaking point.

Now, if we want to get into what I had planned? The story would’ve culminated with him going through a metaphorical hell as he took on the Frenzied Flame in a desperate bid to save Melina. To stop one more person from dying. This hope would then be ripped from him, as another Tarnished already fulfilled Melina’s desire to burn so that the Erdtree could be opened. This would’ve been the tipping point for him fully embracing the Flame and determining: “the world must burn.”

We’ll see if I ever write that tho

24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions? Had he not had the burden of Dragon Communion, I would like to imagine Aelfric would’ve become a perfumer, after the fashion of Tricia. He would’ve used aromatics to relieve pain and suffering wherever he could throughout the Lands Between. Perhaps he would’ve lived to study under Miquella and become an accomplished Haligtree healer. But such was not to be his story

Destiny? Chapter Four: Anywhere But Here

 Author's Note

This is one of my first fan fiction series. Also dark/ angsty themes, there's a lot of crap that goes down. Thank you so much for giving this work a read! Quick disclaimer, for all intents and purposes MHA/BNHA are not mine they do not belong to me. The manga and anime have inspired me to write this fiction and dialogue as well as events are given credit to the beautiful people who have blessed us with this series. Aside from standard story line events this work is mine.

I approach the school's gates the next day, or where the gates are supposed to be. There's a swarm of people surrounding them though, it'll be hard to get through. I wonder, 'What is all the excitement about?' I manage to push myself through to the gates. My attempt to break through the crowd was hindered by the elbows thrown and other people shoving through the mass of people. I pass by the currently occupied reporters, I'm in the homestretch when a reporter stops right in front of me, but to interview a different kid. I stand on my tip-toes and see, 'Oh, it's Bakugo.' I think to myself, pleasantly surprised to see him coming to school early. 'He seems the type to get to school late, he's got the whole delinquent vibe going on...' My thoughts are interrupted by the abrupt stop in what the reporter was asking. She then says, "You're the kid from the sludge villain incident!"

"BUZZ OFF!" is his response and storms away without answering her.

'The sludge villain incident? What could she possibly mean by that?' I have this tendency to look at my feet while I walk and think, so, I end up bumping into none other than the already ticked off Bakugo.

"Hey watch where you're walking!" He exclaims while continuing walking to the building.

"Sor-" The rest of the word dies on my lips as when I notice his presence is no longer there. I feel a flare of heat at my hip, and stare at his back for a second too long before continuing on my way to homeroom. I set my books down after getting to my seat, Mr. Aizawa jumps straight into things.

"I've seen the results from yesterday's exercise, grade-wise and All Might's evaluations. First off, Bakugo, you acted extremely childish, grow up."

Surprisingly, Bakugo responds with a simple and resigned, "Okay."

I raise my eyebrows at his tame response, it's been only two days since I've first encountered him, and even I can tell he was lacking in his usually explosive nature. I'm too caught up in my observation to hear what Mr. Aizawa said about Midoriya afterwards. Midoriya responds with a quick and determined, "Okay!"

Mr. Aizawa moves on and says, "We'll be voting on your class's president today."

All the kids in the class are jumping out of their seats and waving their hands wildly in the air. 'In my previous school, it was always a struggle to get students to volunteer for the class president role. Why's everyone so excited over such a normal classroom duty?' I think this to myself and turn to Midoriya who is also raising his hand and ask, "Why is everyone so excited to be elected to do something so boring?"

He says, "In normal schools, you would be right. But here, the class president gets to basically lead the class. Which paves the way for a top hero in the making."

A shout breaks through the chorus of voices, "Be quiet!"

Everyone stops their actions and turns to the source of the voice, Ida, who then says, "Since we are going to be voting in a Democratic fashion, it makes sense to also elect the class president through this method. Self-nominated individuals will be voted on through a ballot-like system. I propose anonymous votes as well."

"This is a classroom, not Congress!" Someone yells in response to Ida's statements.

Ida looks over at Mr. Aizawa and asks, "Will my proposal be accepted?"

Mr. Aizawa nods his head while getting into a yellow sleeping bag, the many bags under his eyes an indication of his ever-present exhaustion. "It doesn't matter to me how you figure it out among yourselves, as long as you decide before the period ends."

The class goes with Ida's idea, and the results are written on the board. The names and number of votes written side-by-side.

"I got three votes?" Midoriya says, clearly confused.

"I only got one vote?! Why did none of you extras vote for me?!" Bakugo exclaims, looking at the different members of his friend group. They respond to his question by avoiding eye contact, Kaminari can be heard saying loudly, "Wow, would you look at the tiles on the floor? They're so glossy. I can't seem to direct my attention towards anything but these super shiny tiles..."

A look of murder passes over Bakugo's face that seems to say, "Just wait until we're at the lunch table, you will hear an earful from me!"

Mr. Aizawa takes a look at the board and says, "Based on the votes, Midoriya will be class president with his three votes, and Yaoyorozu will be your class vice president with her two votes."

At lunch, I am sitting at the table in the corner. Still not alone, because the other classmates: Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, and Ashido have chosen to invade my lonesome table. Bakugo storms over to us with his ever-present, sour expression on his face, and plops himself onto a seat at the table. I immediately lower my head, and look down at the food on my plate, as I push it around on my plate I look at him through my lashes. I quietly observe while Bakugo starts to give the rest of the group a piece of his mind.

They simply look at one another, silent conversations passing in mere glances at each other. After a few moments of silence, Sero turns pleading eyes to me and asks, "Did you vote for him Schaffer?"

I don't respond, instead I look up from my plate and I notice his eye twitch in annoyance, so I stick my tongue out at him in return. I watch as Bakugo's face twists into more than a tad-bit of annoyance, and then get up from the table to dump my trash in the garbage. On my way there I say to myself, 'I couldn't lie to them, but I also don't want to feed his already large ego.' I shake my head at my childish behavior, the same childish behavior I had just called Bakugo out on. I head back to the lunch table.

There are siren sounds going off and an announcement through the loudspeakers tells us there is a level 3 breach of security. All of the students start to panic and head for the hallways and any other available paths to an exit. I stand frozen in panic and confusion for a fraction of a second, and then weave through the jumble of students in the direction of Ida. 'He seems like a leader-type. The class listens to him, maybe he knows what's going on?' I think to myself and then yell out my question to Ida, "Do you have any idea as to what a level 3 breach of security is?"

When I reach him, he says, "An upperclassmen just informed me that it means someone has broken into the building. Which is a rare occurrence due to the barrier around the school."

I nod my head and stay close to him as we move with the ocean of bodies into the hallway. I mutter to myself, "We need to figure out who exactly is the cause of the breach, and get everyone's attention. If we can look through that window over there, someone could probably identify the perpetrator...." I look at Ida and say, "Do you think you can-"

"I heard what you were muttering to yourself, and yes."

I watch Ida as he lets the crowd direct him toward the window, with his face partially squished against the glass I barely hear him over the clamoring voices of the students as they try to exit the building.

"It's the press from this morning! They're on the lawn outside!"

*Vree*

Another cycle of the sirens can be heard throughout the school, a frantic student body ensues. We try to calm them down with the newfound knowledge, but no one's listening they're all too caught up in the nearly impossible breach in security. I yell to Ida, "They're not listening! We need to think of a way to draw their attention to you!"

"What do you have in mind?!"

I look around the hallway frantically, going through all the possible options and then I spot the exit sign above the door, and then I yell to Ida, "I have an idea! Can you find a way to get over there?"

I point to the exit sign above the door, Ida nods his head. He says something to Uraraka, who then extends her hand. When their hands touch, Ida kicks off the floor and is sent floating up in the air. He quickly reaches down to the bottom of his uniform pants and pulls them up and over his ... calves. There are engine-like exhausts coming out of his calves. He pushes himself towards the exit sign from off the wall and shouts something out. I watch with amazement as he soars through the air, somersaulting a few times before grabbing onto a pipe above the sign attached to the wall, I nod impressed at his execution of the plan. Ida turns to the mass of now confused students, and proceeds to tell them the whole situation. Everyone has calmed down at this point and we are able to return to our regularly scheduled class. The police were called and the reporters were driven away. Midoriya and Yaoyorozu are standing in the front of the class to lead in the selection of the other student council members. Midoriya, a bundle of nerves says, "Instead of picking the other members now, I would like to hand the role of class president over to Ida. He showed excellent leadership in a situation where it was needed most."

My classmates chime in, saying they agree with Midoriya. We all look over at Mr. Aizawa for confirmation, he stares blankly ahead and states, "Whatever you choose doesn't matter to me, as long as it gets taken care of today."

Ida stands up while looking over at me and pauses, Bakugo turns his head to look at me slightly, and trying to appear uninterested, but he's curious nonetheless.

Ida, with conflicting emotions on his face, says, "I will..." that's when I nod my head yes, paired with an encouraging smile. I know where he's going with this, he wants to me to give him permission to be class president. Even though it's only been a couple of days, I can tell Ida is very honor-bound. He doesn't think it's okay for him to take credit for my initial plan, but he also wants to be a leader. I mouth to him, "I don't want it, go ahead."

The other students start to give Ida words of encouragement, sensing a bit of hesitation at the end of his acceptance. I look over at Bakugo, he simply quirks his eyebrow up and turns his head to fully facing the front of the classroom again.

Chapter Five: Out There

1 - The Dragonheart

the story of Briar-Dune, Prince Roran, and Kova. im not super positive what’s going on here but there’s a conflict with dragons maybe ?? and maybe another force. anyway. Briar-Dune has to help Kova rescue the prince and also she becomes the first to forge a bond with a dragon, so that’s neat

2 - Bloodied Sands and Golden Skies

happens around the same time as The Dragonheart. Saskia Azaar is the heir to the throne and the Dahkay desert after her parents die in the war that them and their people have been fighting for years. definitely stuff with the Sun Goddess. maybe they’re facing one of the enemies that the characters in The Dragonheart are ???

3 - Broken Thrones

uhhhhh a Complicated Mess (tm) 

there’s the stories of Athum (growing up under his mother’s influence, seeing how the people suffer, overthrowing his parents and taking over the throne) and Culraes (watching his parents die, growing up in a war-torn country, learning to fight, Jayi, becoming a retainer of the king)

and of course, Amary. the daughter of a god and a human, a princess banished from the royal family, a self-made knight and warrior, bloodthirsty, a protector. her story involves the death of her step-father, taking her youngest sister to Issera, fighting a war, and finding out who she truly is.

4 - [Unnamed]

the story of Raisha (human turned goddess) and her journey. it’s nothing spectacular at first; she’s just a horse raiser, breaker, and trainer from a family of horse raisers, breakers, and trainers. along the way there’s stuff about a wild stallion named Pasht and a cowboy named Hayes and his little brother Grim. (Raisha is of Issera, Hayes and Grim are not. the story takes place within Issera, methinks)

and after that....who knows how many spinoffs with the stories of the gods and other characters ! it’s a huge mess rn and there a lot of things that can and probably will change as i go.

10 George R.R. Martin Stories That Would Be Impossible To Bring To Screens

Thanks to HBO’s landmark adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire that’s better known as Game of Thrones, author George R.R. Martin has become a legend in modern popular culture. Before publishing the first chapter of Westoros’ epic history in 1996, Martin was primarily known for writing Science-Fiction and Horror stories that are just as intriguing and compelling as a Stark’s adventures.

But as interesting and well-received as some of these books may be, not all of them could be adapted like Game of Thrones was. Whether this is because of the story’s massive scale or other factors, here are 10 books written by George R.R. Martin that would be impossible (or at least very difficult) to adapt today.

10 Fevre Dream

Bored seafarer Abner Marsh gets the deal of a lifetime when the mysterious traveler Joshua York commissions him to captain The Fevre Dream, the greatest steamboat ever made. Things seem to be going great for Abner except for one thing: Joshua is a thousand-years old vampire.

Of the stories listed here, Martin’s reflective take on vampire fiction is the most plausible for a live-action adaptation. The only problem is that vampire movies are a bit passé today following the subgenre’s oversaturation in the early 2000s, making the case for a new vampire movie a bit difficult.

9 Tuf Voyaging

Tasked with terraforming entire planets and remaking their ecologies, the reclusive and no-nonsense genius Haviland Tuf and his psychic cat Mushroom search the galaxy for planets and solar systems to discover, visit, and reshape.

While the idea of Star Trek starring Spock may sound discouraging to some, there’s a nice audience out there waiting for more meditative sci-fi stories like Arrival or Annihilation. But because that target audience is rather small, it’s unlikely that a major studio would finance a galactic procedural anthology such as Tuf Voyaging.

8 The Ice Dragon

Often mistaken for being a part of the world of A Song of Fire and Ice because of its frosty eponymous creature, Martin’s novella followed Adara when she meets the best friend she could ever ask for: an ice dragon. This is also Martin’s debut into children’s fiction.

The Ice Dragon is basically Dragonheart or The NeverEnding Story but told by the guy who dreamt up The Red Wedding. There’s nothing bad about this fairytale, but it’s too similar to older movies that already told the premise well. It could, however, work as an animated feature on Netflix.

7 Sandkings

When businessman and exotic animal aficionado Simon Kress gets bored of his current pet collection, he finds enjoyment in his newest addition: the Sandkings. Though they treat him like a god at first, they become murderously uncontrollable when get sick of his abuse.

If Gremlins removed all of the comedy, Sandkings would be the outcome. It’s because of this similarity that this particular horror story won’t be adapted any time soon – especially since there are rumors of a third Gremlins being in development.

6 Windhaven

In a world of storms and islands, the young Flyer Maris of Lesser Amberly sets out to change the unjust world she lives in. But as the years pass, she learns that reform isn’t as utopian as she hoped it would be.

If Windhaven were optioned during the height of the Young Adult Dystopian’s popularity, it wouldn’t have been able to stand out. Now that the genre’s dead, there’s currently little hope for Maris’ story to come to life. That, and her adventures may remind people a bit too much of a certain notorious bomb named Waterworld.

5 Dying of the Light

Set on the planet of Worlon, the story focuses on Dirk t’Larien when he visits the (literally and culturally) dying planet to answer his former lover’s request. Learning that his ex Gwen is trapped in an abusive marriage, Dirk goes to save her even if it means driving Worlon further into the brink.

There’s a current need for new space operas that another Star Wars installment can’t fill, but this novel may not exactly be the best candidate. Basically Game of Thrones set in space, Martin’s debut novel is too large in scale to adapt into live-action.

4 In The House Of The Worm

This collection of novellas and short stories can be described as H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine mixed with H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos, with the cast of characters starting out on a journey for revenge only to meet the horrifying subterranean truth behind their ancestral religion.

The narrative and themes of Martin’s send-off to Lovecraftian lore would make for ambitious entertainment, but there’s a reason why none of Lovecraft’s most famous stories haven’t been adapted. Studios tend to avoid existential horror like poison, so a tale about the Legendary White Worm simply won’t fly.

3 A Song For Lya

Following the telepathic explorers Rob and Lyanna when they visit the mysterious planet of Shkea, the two stumble upon a strange religion filled with human converts. To their horror, the sect’s god isn’t a mythical figure but a physical Eldricth monstrosity.

Much like In The House Of The Worm, a book about an existentially horrifying religion would be an unlikely story for studios to pick up. If something as iconic as Lovecraft’s At The Mountains Of Madness has been languishing in development hell for years, imagine how difficult it would be to adapt Martin’s religious horror about a giant parasite.

2 The Armageddon Rag

Aging journalist and former hippie Sandy Blair finds the case of a lifetime when an infamous rock band promoter is found brutally murdered. Nazgul, the band at the center of it all, may be using its music to bring about the apocalypse.

Not only is the concept of rock music being evil (or at least being intertwined with the supernatural) outdated but the book is considered to be Martin’s worst. Even Martin himself acknowledges its failings, though he’s still proud of giving his experimental writing a shot. It’s unlikely that any studio would adapt the celebrated author’s weakest tale.

1 The Real Song Of Ice and Fire

HBO’s former pride and joy Game of Thrones was mostly based on Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice, directly adapting most of the first four books before diverging from the source material and leaving out the upcoming The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

But thanks to an abysmal eighth season that tanked the show’s critical and audience appeal, Game of Thrones’ reputation has been forever tarnished. While HBO will still air the prequel, it will be years before someone revisits Martin’s magnum opus to adapt it with the respect it deserves.

Chemistry, Update & Dragons

Ready for a party in your ears from those wacky Nerds again? This week we are celebrating, scratching our chins in suspicion, and looking at upcoming events that we can use to make money. But first, grab a cup of Earl Grey, hot, get a comfy seat and get ready because we have a party. It’s here, that marvellous time of year when we find out who has won a noble prize! It’s awesome, kind of like a Nerds holiday celebrating knowledge and learning, yay! For those wondering Buck is bouncing around the office with excitement. Speaking of which, his topic this week is the Nobel prize winners in Chemistry, and it is for the Lithium Ion battery. A long time coming we know, but still, it is definitely worthy. Buck is still reading the lists and articles about this, and the Professor is enjoying this to.

Next up we have DJ telling us about the latest with him doing little, erm, um, oh, sorry. Apparently it is about the new Dolittle movie, not him being lazy. Now there are some interesting points in this section so make sure you listen carefully. We won’t give away all the details here, no, listen in and see what is happening. We can tell you there is a name change, and no, it isn’t DJ being rebranded to some funny name such as Purveyance Slave Droid. Mainly because he still hasn’t learned how to make the perfect cup of Earl Grey.

Next we hear how someone has had an epically lucky coincidence when naming their crowd funding campaign. We are told it is completely unintentional though. Although Buck thinks that this is the next generation of Citizen Con, sorry, Star Con, no, what is it, star rippoff? Oh you know what we mean. Anyway, this bloke was trying to raise capital for a game he was developing and listen in to hear the rest of this fantastic story.

As usual we have the shout outs, with special mention to Christina Koch and Jessica Meir, the first all female spacewalk crew. Then we have the usual remembrances, birthdays and special events. 11 Oct 2019 - Alexei Leonov, Soviet Russian cosmonaut,Air Force major general, writer, and artist. On 18 March 1965, he became the first human to conduct a spacewalk, exiting the capsule during the Voskhod 2 mission for 12 minutes and 9 seconds. He was connected to the craft by a 4.8-metre (16 ft) tether. At the end of the spacewalk, Leonov's spacesuit had inflated in the vacuum of space to the point where he could not re-enter the airlock. He opened a valve to allow some of the suit's pressure to bleed off and was barely able to get back inside the capsule. Leonov had spent eighteen months undergoing weightlessness training for the mission. In July 1975, Leonov commanded the Soyuz capsule in the Soyuz–Apollo mission, which docked in space for two days with an American Apollo capsule. Leonov was an accomplished artist whose published books include albums of his artistic works and works he did in collaboration with his friend Andrei Sokolov. Leonov took coloured pencils and paper into space, where he sketched the Earth and drew portraits of the Apollo astronauts who flew with him during the 1975 Apollo–Soyuz Test Project. Arthur C. Clarke wrote in his notes to 2010: Odyssey Two that, after a 1968 screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Leonov pointed out to him that the alignment of the Moon, Earth, and Sun shown in the opening is essentially the same as that in Leonov's 1967 painting Near the Moon, although the painting's diagonal framing of the scene was not replicated in the film. Clarke kept an autographed sketch of this painting—which Leonov made after the screening—hanging on his office wall. Clarke dedicated 2010: Odyssey Two to Leonov and Soviet physicist Andrei Sakharov; and the fictional spaceship in the book is named Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. Forster's varied filmography further includes titles such as Me, Myself & Irene, Mulholland Drive, The Descendants, Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, and What They Had. He also had prominent roles in television series such as Banyon, Heroes, and Twin Peaks (2017). He won the Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role on Television for his performance as Ed Galbraith also referred to as the Disappearer in the Breaking Bad episode "Granite State", reprising his role in the series' sequel film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which premiered the day of his death. 14 Oct 1984 – Sir Martin Ryle, Englishradio astronomer who developed revolutionary radio telescope systems and used them for accurate location and imaging of weak radio sources. In 1946 Ryle and Derek Vonberg were the first people to publish interferometric astronomical measurements at radio wavelengths. With improved equipment, Ryle observed the most distant known galaxies in the universe at that time. He was the first Professor of Radio Astronomy at the University of Cambridge, and founding director of the Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory. He was Astronomer Royal from 1972 to 1982. Ryle and Antony Hewish shared the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1974, the first Nobel prize awarded in recognition of astronomical research.[6] In the 1970s, Ryle turned the greater part of his attention from astronomy to social and political issues which he considered to be more urgent. To do this, he used counterrotating disks with repeating drawn images in small increments of motion on one and regularly spaced slits in the other. He called this device of 1832 the phenakistiscope. The projection of stroboscopic photographs, creating the illusion of motion, eventually led to the development of cinema. Plateau also studied the phenomena of capillary action and surface tension. The mathematical problem of existence of a minimal surface with a given boundary is named after him. He conducted extensive studies of soap films and formulated Plateau's laws which describe the structures formed by such films in foams. While she played the part of Jo Grant alongside Jon Pertwee's incarnation of the Doctor, Manning struck up an immediate rapport with her co-stars Pertwee, Nicholas Courtney (The Brigadier), John Levene (Sergeant Benton), Richard Franklin (Captain Mike Yates) and Roger Delgado (the Master). 14 Oct 1884 - George Eastman patents paper-strip photographic film. Eastman's invention revolutionized photography by using coated paper and rollers, rather than heavy glass dry plates, to reproduce images. Eastman began looking for ways to "make the camera as convenient as the pencil," after amassing the heavy, complicated, and expensive equipment he needed to keep a picture record of his vacation. This invention allowed him to mass produce a small hand-held box camera filled with rolls of film with 100 exposures. Millions of Americans recorded the first snap shots of their everyday lives using the Kodak camera, which was introduced in 1888.

14 Oct 1947 - Chuck Yeager becomes the first person to exceed the speed of sound, Yeager flew the X-1 rocket over Rogers Dry Lake in Southern California. The X-1 was lifted to an altitude of 25,000 feet by a B-29 aircraft and then released through the bomb bay, rocketing to 40,000 feet and exceeding 662 miles per hour (the sound barrier at that altitude). The rocket plane nicknamed “Glamorous Glennis” (after Yeager's wife), was designed with thin, unswept wings and a streamlined fuselage modeled after a .50-caliber bullet.
