How Teddy Lupin Became an Amateur Arsonist by moonscone When Teddy meets Sirius, he is immediately smitten. Sirius is cool, he's funny, and he's a fireman! Teddy would do anything to keep someone as brilliant as Sirius in his life. When Sirius and his Da seem to hit it off, the idea is only solidified. Teddy Lupin was going to make Sirius Black his second father, and nothing was going to stop him from achieving his goal.

BONUS: This fic features both of them fighting fires as part of the wizarding war, so not sure if it counts but am including it anyway.

if you read me, you know...i do not write angst. i have one (1) fic where i stepped out of my lane and wrote angst-lite. it's not even really angst, but more moody atmospheric. and interestingly enough, the most purple i've prosed. my beta was like, peach, what? the weed which strings the hangman's bag

What is a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

pfft, all my fics have the happiest endings.

Do you get hate on fics?

nope. i did get hate on a supportive/love comment i left on a friend's fic once. that's, like, 7th circle of hell troll behavior to be hating on a comment.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i do write smut, yes. my smut has been described as [insert various descriptors like "inferno", "blazing", "scorching", and lots of🔥] hot paired with soft/romantic/sweet. i.e. fluffy smut. smuff.

nope. the closest i've come is inserting HP characters into a magical version of The Breakfast Club.

i'm good at characterizations & writing banter. and i'm good at writing lean.

What are your writing weaknesses?

recently, i've had the immense pleasure of listening to my fics read aloud in published podfics. and let me say, this is a brilliant way to spot weaknesses. and while my banter may be good, sometimes i maybe inject too much action into my conversations. it disrupts the flow. also, long, plotty fics ellude me. i'm a pantser/gardner style writer and plotting/outlining makes me hyperventilate.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

yes, if used sparingly, and in such a way that i (as an english only speaker) can intuit what is being said. and also if translations are provided as a footnote. i've got a french-speaking Draco in my Dron fics [1] [2], where he lapses in the heat of passion.

So, what have I learned from this activity? I love short and simple sentences as my first lines I guess. It's also pretty mixed between dialogue and description. Mostly past tense, all 3rd person POV. Very interesting.

currently reading : Surrender the Grey by emmagrant01 - second part of the Left My Heart drarry series. I’ve been digging through the archives lately trying to find all the gems, this one was published back in 2005! Written before HBP. I’m enjoying it a lot!!

I’m also making my way through @hd-wireless which is pumping out amazing works, Before the Cold Sets In by (currently) Anonymous is one of my faves so far, but they’ve all been brilliant!

currently watching : I just finished a rewatch of Malcolm in the Middle! But I also just watched a few things on my trip back from Fiji, The Lost King which focuses on how they managed to find King Richard III body under a car park in Leicester. And I also watched Don’t Worry Darling which I also loved a lot.

current favourite character : Lestat 🧡 He’s the worst

current WIPs : too many. actively my Scorpius / Harry fic Closure (which I’ve not updated since early 2022) I have every intention of returning to it, and the storyline still lives rent free in my mind. I’m also in the midst of two drarry fics, one which involves memory loss! Draco, and the other where Draco is cursed into a dragon if he doesn’t find ❤️❤️❤️
