I just wanted to pop in quickly and apologize for being so behind on my askbox! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

unfortunately I've run into some health issues (which are also now making themselves mental health issues in classic me fashion). luckily my doctor doesn't think it will be anything too serious, but it is majorly draining my energy and I have just been too exhausted most nights to get back to asks or messages or to follow up on curatorial assistant stuff (which I am majorly behind on as well, and for which I also apologize ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹)

luckily we still have over 100 posts in the queue, so this shouldn't affect the regular posts on the blog, but I did just want to let everyone know that that's why I haven't been answering asks or adding new post submissions to the queue

I hoping I'll be able to stabilize my energy levels soon and be more responsive to everyone, since I absolutely treasure all of your lovely messages, and I want to be sure I respond to them with all the love they deserve! 🥰🥰

second, I am nearly done with my finals and my health issues have mostly resolved, so I will be easing into being more active on the blog!! ☺️💕 I'm so excited to get back to interacting with y'all again and to top up the queue with some fun new polls! 💖💖

I started to type a comment on a thread where someone was WRONG and I was RIGHT and there was a POINT to be made, and then halfway through I decided this wasn't a hill I wanted to die on, and considering this was the internet, nobody was ever going to back down anyway, and I deleted the comment and left the page.

I feel like in the past the mix of this site being used for both activism and fandom helped contribute to a lot of unhinged politicized fandom discourse where yeah ofc there's a political tie to media but ppl used it as... a form of activism where it was given disproportionate importance compared to other activism discussions? Whereas now we're swinging to the opposite site of How Dare You Care About Meaningless TV Shows When Politics.

Like... we can have a mix of realizing there's more important stuff to focus on than shipping discourse in the world at large without also minimizing the insane doxxing and death threats behavior going on in fandom that people in fandom have to take into consideration to be able to do their hobby, esp given how those attitudes stem from irl political climates at times in ways that are telling to study. Hobbies are kinda how we prevent activism burnout also. Crazey how that works.
