thinking about osiris and guardian culture and lightless guardians makes me soooo ill. do you think he had medical records. do you think they were in any way prepared to treat him. do you think he had a reaction to any of his medications. do you think they had to build his treatment up from nothing bc theres so little info on lightless guardians. do you think the vanguard only started really caring about guardians that have lost the light when it happened to someone close to them (osiris or zavala bc fuck knows eris was on her own). i need to lie down

Could you share with us some traditional Central European farm house inspirations ? :D
This guide is about Hungarian traditional farmhouses.
🏠 EXTERIOR & STRUCTURE
Back in the 19th century, the three-room farmhouse was a common sight all across the Carpathian Basin. Its rooms are arranged in rows, i.e. one after the other. The front of the house, facing the street, was shorter, and you could enter through the long courtyard. The room facing the street was usually the main living area, while the second room served as the kitchen. In simpler houses, the third room was a pantry, but it wasn't uncommon to find a second room or even multiple pantries.
The floor was usually made of brick or tiled earth.
In richer houses, rooms had wooden floors.
The walls were white or smoky

🚪 ENTRANCE / Bejárat
It has two types: (1) There is only one external entrance from the courtyard, the other rooms can only be accessed via this entrance. It always leads to the second room. (2) Each room of the house has a separate entrance to the courtyard, and there is no internal passage between them.
🏛️ TORNÁC / PORTICO?
The wooden side-tornác is generally older, but there are many variations depending on the region.

🏛️ FACADE / Oromzat
The façade varied from landscape to landscape and from house to house. The houses were richly decorated with floral, religious and national motifs.

🔥 STOVE / Kályha & Tűzhely
In the village house, the stove takes center stage and symbolizes the heart of the home. The kitchen had a fire burning to cook meals, and the warmth spread throughout the house thanks to a closed stove in the adjacent room. So, not only did the kitchen provide delicious food, but it also kept the entire house cozy and snug.

🔪🍰 KITCHEN / Konyha
Old traditional Hungarian kitchens were known for their functional design, centered around a hearth for cooking and a sturdy wooden table for family gatherings. These kitchens were often decorated with handmade ceramic or copper utensils, giving them a charming traditional touch.

🛌💤 ROOM / Szoba
Interestingly, in many areas, the first room wasn't used much at all, except for specific occasions like when someone was sick or when there was a baby on the way. The room was beautifully adorned and one corner was set up as an altar. People referred to it as the "clean room" because it was kept tidy and pristine.

hi! based on the small amount of knowledge i have about the states, i am inclined to agree this is accurate. i would probably say culture wise, melbourne would probably be more san francisco-esque than sydney, because sydney just isn’t as progressive and is definitely more ‘flashy’ as a city so to speak. i can’t think of an equivalent though. maybe la? again, i’m only running off my experience living here, and what i’ve heard about over there :)

Look man Mexicans agreeing on something is rare enough but if they're agreeing that something you did is racist that's a damn death sentence because we as a culture have a very dark sense of humor and have historically put up with or even embraced poor or negative representation if it was funny enough
Mexicans do not throw the word racist around lightly, if you get us all calling you racist it's because you've royally fucked up without doubt

hello, ive been learning portuguese for a bit and i was wondering if you had any recommendations for media? like youtubers, blogs, movies or series. if you do, thanks in advance
uff fuck, i will sure try my best but i can’t promise anything
I normally get my dose of Portuguese via going to academic workshops or working alongside Brazilian people, so I don’t exactly engage with media in Portuguese as a conscious learning process, I'm afraid. Like, for example, i normally just get a bunch of Instagram reels and TikToks cause I'm on the Brazilian side of instagram/tiktok, and not exactly because i follow any particular account or something, and i don’t level or recognize how hard the Portuguese is in each one, etc
I have some series that i remember watching and liking tho, which are:
De volta aos 15: a drama/comedy series around a 30yo woman that time travels a few times to when she was 15 and tries to fix everyone's life, as one does
A sogra que te pariu: a very absurd sitcom in the best latinoamerican style (and set during covid)
Samantha!: Another comedy, now about a kid star from the '80s who is trying to launch herself back
Lulli: comedy, drama and romance. A medic student gets electrocuted and starts hearing everyone's thoughts
3%: suspense, fiction, drama. Set on a diasporic word where, while everyone gets a one-time change to better their life, only the 3% makes it
Ciudad invisible: Drama, mystery. This one has lots of references to folk culture and stories! It's about a man who, after a family tragedy, starts seeing different mythological creatures that will help him uncover the past
omnisciente: sci-fi, drama, thriller. The city is controlled and watched all the time everywhere by drones. A woman tries to solve a murder that the drones never picked on + plus discover how fucked up the system and the drones are
Coisa mais linda: Drama, romance, set in 1959, after getting cheated on and left alone, a woman sets herself to open her own bossa nova club
ninguem t olheando: comedy, drama, fantasy after discovering some secrets of the bureaucratic angelic system, a guardian angel set himself to break every rule that there is for protecting humans
Valentina: drama a young trans girl moves to a more conservative rural town
Alice júnior: Coming of age film about a YouTuber trans girl as she challenges her catholic school's conservative ways

@melomaniaahh Did you even read what you wrote before you posted it? So, let's first acknowledge that you were completely wrong in your previous assertion. The one you deleted. You were wrong. In your ignorance, you said things about Islam that are unequivocally false. So, now you've moved the goalposts to... this.
No, they can't "force" her to put it on, they can't physically shove it on her head or manipulate her hands. But she is religiously, legally and morally compelled to, or she'll be punished. She has the machinery of the Iranian regime and its morality police pointed at her head. The Iranian government literally killed Mahsa Amini for exactly this. "You choose to be imprisoned or die by not putting on the hijab that is we made obligatory" is not the moral high ground you think it is.
Iranians themselves are fighting to be free from this tyranny. Iranian women are risking arrest and even death by removing their hijab, and you're sitting there smugly with "no one can make her put it on" in defiance of everything that's going on, in dismissal of how many people have suffered and died, not just in the recent revolution, not just in Iran, but all over the Islamic community, including but not limited to acid attacks - over this oppressive, religiously driven slut-shaming culture? Because that's what it is. A woman who does not hijab is a slut, and deserves whatever happens to her.
https://quranx.com/33.59
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
Do you know what "abused" means in this context? Raped. It means raped. A woman who does hijab signals her Islam to others, and her compliance with sexual purity culture for the purposes of maintaining her virginity until she's married off. A woman who does not is fair game. Because Allah does not afford her protection from "abuse" (i.e. rape). You're making excuses for rape culture. Actual rape culture.
But congratulations on not just celebrating female objectification, but providing cover, again, for right-wing, conservative, fundamentalist religious purity culture.
By the way, nothing I've said is "hating Muslims." Opposing Islamically obligatory hijab is not "anti-Muslim," it's pro-Muslim, because it's pro-humanity. Muslims themselves are the greatest victims of this regressive objectifying, barbarous cult. I will despise Islam as much as I please without any guilt whatsoever.
Holding up Muslims as a human shield to protect Islam from criticism - the thing you did - is what's anti-Muslim.
