Every culture uses different cultural home remedies to relieve any type of symptoms. My culture is Syrian Jewish. Syrian jews relied on specific home remedies to calm and soothe certain symptoms. Back in the day, especially in Syria they had a shortage of doctors and didn’t have many medication options available, their options were limited, therefore, they had to rely on home remedies for treatment. Some examples are, when a person/child has a common cold we would make a cup of tea with fresh mint leaves. Mint leaves helps relieve colds because it contains menthol, which is a decongestant. When a newborn/infant has eye discharge we  take warm water and mix it with an original flavored tea bag and we rub it with a cloth around their eyes gently. This will help reduce the amount of eye discharge and will decrease any redness or irritation around the eye. When a child has a stuffy nose or a bad cough we would use a standard humidifier and put in a pinch of salt and water. This will make vapor in the child’s room and help relieve any unwanted mucus in the lungs and will enable the child to breathe better. When a person/child has stomach pain, abdominal cramps, or menstrual  pain we would rub a little arrack on the stomach. Arrack is a form or distilled alcoholic drink typically made in the Middle East. This alcohol in the arrack helps relieve stomach pains. Understanding cultural diversity means we need to accept and understand if a person wants to try their own cultural home remedies before trying medications. Every culture has their own unique home remedies that they use and rely on for treatment.

“Serendipity” è un termine che fu coniato da Horace Walpole. 

Il termine serendipity indica la fortuna di fare felici scoperte per puro caso, e anche, il trovare una cosa non cercata e imprevista mentre se ne stava cercando un’altra.

Nessuno di noi sa esattamente cosa accadrà nella vita, ma indipendentemente da ciò che potrà succedere, ognuno di noi proverà a trovare qualcosa che lo renderà felice.
