So I was watching this new video by some dude that talks about cryptids (NOT crypto currency I hate that shit) on YouTube, and it gave me an idea.

I'm going to make Taylor Hebert into a cryptid, and start posting the story into places like reddit, 4chan, Twitter, tiktok, everywhere I can think of.

I think it'll go somewhere along the lines of: there once was a girl who was horribly bullied by her peers to the point where they shut her away in a locker filled with trash and rusty blades, and then they left for summer break.

This wasn't a very well maintained school, and it had a major problem with keeping the place cool in the brutally hot summers where they lived.

Nobody ever found the girl, but a few months later, THE BUGS THE BUGS THE BUGS!!!

our goal is to make it a comic! There'll be some animated stuff too :> it'll probably be a series of one-shot comics to start out with of early moments in the au (i have a couple im working on, one being jack manifold and niki's trigger event, and the other being clingyduo centric!) and getting further into the timeline of events! We've got a ton of plot planned out beyond what we've shared, and as a character driven story, it's a ton of fun to make!

also it means a ton to us that you like our au!! It's been so much fun to share stuff with you guys <3

rocketduo wise: they will tell each other EVERYTHING. they'll wave across the battlefield, and if niki's fire hits jack he has to (badly) pretend that it hurts bc niki's flames only heal him. It's hilarious and they're just vibing, especially since no one on either team knows that theyre doing this. Also Jack manifold can and will just. burst into his college classes like "SORRY IM LATE I HAD TO FIGHT A VILLAIN ON X STREET YOU KNOW HOW IT IS". He's very much a beloved figure on campus bc he's kind of like a local cryptid? They all know OF him but a lot of the newer students tend to think he's fake lmao

of course, then they see him booking it down the street, running late, while ALSO being partially on fire. He's absolutely the most casual with his powers out of any cape bc to him there's no difference between jack manifold the college student and jack manifold the hero - he's just himself!

he and niki also do baking together :D jack isn't too good at it but he tries!

I've seen this ship done precisely twice. Once in a smut one-shot that didn't really explore it to the fullest. And the other time was a fic that died after four short chapters. What am I talking about? But of course,

Danny Hebert x Bakuda

Think about it. Taste it. So many possibilities for drama and sitcom, character development and interaction.

Taylor, having to contend with the fact that her father got a new woman in his life. The woman that isn't even a decade older than her. A woman with an extremely loud personality, which may or not be similiar to one of her bullies. A woman who may or may not interact with the aforementioned bullies, which will be whole thing. And also that woman is also an up-and-coming terrorist working for the second-most racist gang in the city.

Bakuda dating guy about twice her age (not inherently funny, but could reveal a lot about her character). A guy who has a kind of weird and sad kid hanging around. A kid who looks suspiciously how Bakuda must've looked not long before her trigger. To whom, of course, Bakuda will actually try to be a motherly figure of sorts, because how hard could that be? (Just do the opposite of what her own parents did.) And the kid turns out to be indeed a cape, specifically the new horrorshow insect cryptid one that put Bakuda's boss in hospital and also chopped off Bakuda's toe.

Danny, of course, dating a woman half his age. Probably happy to find love, but also having to navigate the feelings of his daughter, and the explosive temperament of his girlfriend. Which may or may not remind him of younger Annette. Remaining generally unaware of the parahuman bullshit happening just a few feet away from him, and yet obviously suspecting something is afoot.

But in terms of most interesting, the really fucked up powers minor characters get are always interesting. Like, I would really love to see something more detailed about Flower of the Hecatomb at some point. Failing that, Cryptid.
