I have ambitions of one day writing a series of one shots viewing Victoria through the eyes of each of her Ward-era ships (Ashley, Lisa, Sveta), and it seems like a fitting capstone to that project would be a Victoria POV poly fic, but brainstorming that really drove home for me how difficult of a fit polyamory would be for everyone involved except for Victoria.

Like, Sveta has a deep hurt and insecurity over the idea that someone she loves might rather have someone with a more conventional body, Ashley's gut reaction to not getting her way/not feeling like the most important person in the room is to treat it as an existential threat, and even if we accept for the sake of the premise that Lisa is theoretically interested in sex/romance in some capacity, she still has power-related issues with intimacy, gets enjoyment and comfort out of pissing people off, and doesn't hesitate to use incredible cruelty to get people to back off if she's uncomfortable.

And that's not even touching the more specific ways that these people's quirks would grate on each other. Like, I've joked before about their dynamic, but Ashley and Lisa would struggle to share a cheese platter, nevermind a girlfriend.

I'm not saying it's an unworkable premise, but I am saying that Fragile One should probably get some tips from Broadcast first.

Oh my God Lisa's life is Hell. Sveta spends a few hours with her, spends 80% of the time directly insulting her and 20% being helpful in ways that genuinely undercut her. They get into an argument that's mostly accusing each other of wasting time, and Lisa suddenly gets wistful about Brian? This is how she lives?
