as cute as i find the art and au’s where people depict c!jack as joining the syndicate, i think it’s so incredibly important for both c!niki and c!jack that he doesn’t, that they have some things that are independent to them.

because a lot of the issues niki and jack struggle with is are amplified by how codependent they are (not to the extent of c!wilbur and c!tommy, but still more than two healthy adults should be) they feed into each others paranoia and anger because they’re convinced no one else could ever understand their pain or can be trusted.

c!niki and c!jack always cared about each other deeply, but unfortunately that love wasn’t what kept them so close, it was the fear of not having anyone else, of being abandoned and discarded again.

as c!niki connects with the syndicate, she begins to see there ARE other places for her in the world, that she IS still lovable and capable of forming new bonds despite what she’s gone through. she still cares about c!jack so much ofc, but she realizes that he doesn’t have to be the ONLY thing she cares about, and that she shouldn’t be the only thing HE cares about. this helps her finally be able to let go of the past and begin to heal.

(oh also c!niki and c!technos friendships is one of my fav duos and i really wish it got more appreciation)

does anyone else have like. no fucking idea where half of these duo/trio names come from. idk where hideduo comes from. insaneduo i get but also like come on. is there a story behind latinotrio or is it just because quackity roier and cellbit are all latino. i'm gonna need to compile a comprehensive list of all the qsmp duo and trio names out there with explanations so i can keep track of all of them because i'll see a random duo name out in the wild and have no idea who the heck we're talking about

Missing rocketduo :( They were like the only Niki duo where people didn't genuinely ship her with the other person. Watching rocketduo content was like melting down the concept of friendship and injecting it straight into my brain stem

thoughts on c!rocketduo?

i like em a lot!! they're the perfect mix of tragic melodramatic and silly

something i find really interesting about them is that they both kind of started from the same place (l'manberg, as the peacetime entries) and yet they weren't super close during that time of peace. i mean everyone was friends (and i might be remembering wrong) but i always think of niki's social circle being more centred around fundy and eret and wilbur, while jack spends more time with tommy and tubbo. it's not until the shit hits the fan that they really click with each other. not quite the same until they start burning the same way! insert that softer place quote about how you have some friends on good days and some friends on the Really Bad Days. you need both

and i like that they have this kind of testy relationship where they have that shared history but they still don't quite trust each other, even when both of them hold the keys to secrets that could ruin the other. they're both at their fucking worst but they can't quite lower their defenses enough to find comfort in each other. and........ they never do. they never quite get each other. niki gets out of that hole, but jack doesn't come with her. after all they planned together, after the hole they kept fucking digging together, wouldn't that be like having a piece of you missing? and what of jack, who sits in the hole drinking himself to a lonely death? so what if niki is in the snow now, while he's still burning? WOOO we love tense allyship and friendship (?) and resentment

this is all entirely Incidental Aspects Of Improvised Storytelling but i think their wildly diverging relationships with death on the server are really really interesting as well. like niki survived her entire story with her three lives intact, whereas jack died thrice and dragged himself back from hell... especially with their partnership really taking flight after doomsday, after jack's third death and self-imposed resurrection. and then, niki is the one who ends up saved and safe in her nether home while jack burns in the centre of the server's fiery death. that is fucking tragic. and entirely accidental. but so compelling

i would love to write them more. one day, c!jack manifold, i will be funny enough to write you accurately
