Countdown to Azamara Journey!

With just two weeks to go, the countdown has begun to our next, rather special voyage to the Middle-East; perhaps not the best time to be going, it must be said, what with the outbreak of yet another war between Israel and the Hamas Palestinians having just happened!

Entitled ‘Ancient Trade Routes’, our itinerary was to have included a stop at Eilat in southern Israel but that has already been cancelled. Hopefully, our stop at Aqaba in Jordan will not be affected – especially since this is our chance to visit the famous ‘rose-red’ city of Petra – but we shall now also be making stops at Sharm el Sheikh on the Red Sea and Salalah in southern Oman.

Our ‘voyage’ this time is 17 nights aboard Azamara Journey, one of 4 luxury sister ships of just 30,000 tons built between 1999 and 2001 for the then Renaissance Cruises (which collapsed following 9/11).

Carrying up to 694 passengers in what I would describe as ‘unassuming luxury’, we enjoyed our first trip with Azamara aboard ‘Azamara Quest’ so much in 2022 that we booked this trip on ‘Azamara Journey’ while we were on board - and got quite a sweet deal in the process!

But first, we must head for Athens……

Do Men Want Platonic Friendships?

One thing I have wondered and I am now 46 years old and was introduced into the gay community (LGBTQIA) at the age of 17 by a distance cousin running into me at work at the skating rink I was working at, and took me to one of our areas cruisng spots for the first time. Now he mentioned during the evening that he was bi sexual and I did not know why I was dropping him off. However he visited with me for a while, and then mentioned he had to do what he had to do for money. He then parted ways, when a guy pulled up and flashed their lights. He got in the car, I honestly did not know what was going on, but he waved and I left. I did not go far, I went to a gas station and then went back and got my manhood taken care of for the first time by a guy. Well this not my coming out story but the point is once I experienced I wanted it more but also wanted a connection.

During my late teens, and early 20's I was a slut. I did not however think every attractive guy wanted to screw. We had friendships, that were even platonic. I valued those friendships so much. Later on in life those friendships became hard to come by, most guys were wanting in your pants the first night or has the assumption that sex is going to happen when you seriously wanted to just vibe with a bro and geek on movies and smoke pot.

Well during my 15 year marriage, my now ex husband wanted to have dinner parties, and groups over for movies and crap like that, but it 90 percent of the time ended up in sex whether I participated or not. Sometimes I did but then felt bad about it, or not as emotionally proud of myself or felt empty. Now fast forwarding to now, I am in a healthier relationship, we both met through poly relationships that we both were in, and now were exclusive taking a break, but we want to have other gay friends!

Just friends, if something develops later on, to where that turns physical it would of happened on its own.

Just dont know if its us, or are there others like us out there having the same issue? Or is it in most of our genetics to be animistic and wanting to screw and get off all the time?

He liesurely replied--in his hands is Hideyoshi's kiseru.

Hideyoshi: That... that's mine!

Mitsuhide: Ah, yes. I thought it's around this time you want to smoke. So, I borrowed it.

Mitsuhide replied, puffing from the pipe without any remorse.

Hideyoshi: give it back, Baka!

baka brings more moe to the scene.

Mitsuhide: don't be too stingy!

Hideyoshi: stingy?! You took it from someone's room, mind you!

He just wants to be with you..invite him to your room, Hideyoshi.

Mitsuhide: Alright, alright. I'll give it back. Calm down.

Mitsuhide replies and puffs the smoke, returning the kiseru to Hideyoshi.

Puff, puff, kiss

Hideyoshi's words wrapped in the smoke, Mitsuhide was gone and no where to be found.

Hideyoshi: *coughs* asshole...

My ship cruisng. Let's be reminded how Mitsuhide is weak for Hideyoshi's charms. +e mentioned that several times in Hideyoshi's routes. He can't shrug him off. ✨
