Mothwing/Leafpool/Crowfeather

This trio! The world's most inconvenient polycule!

Leafpool is given the go-ahead by Bramblestar after Crowfeather shows himself at the border. He figures that Leafpool has done so much for the Clans, she deserves this. Crowfeather wants to be a part of Thunderclan, and after losing a large chunk of cats to The Great Battle and The Great Storm... They let him join.

Besides, is Starclan REALLY gonna try to punish Leafpool? The cat who discovered the Moonpool?

Yes, actually. They did. Moon Flight was FURIOUS.

But that's a story for another day.

Mothwing is having a pretty rotten time in Riverclan. She loves fish (and girl can make a MEAN Salmon Bun) and she loves her family, but Riverclan's general lifestyle (and political atmosphere) do not suit her. Where Hawkfrost is focused on staying out of the spotlight and under radars, and Tadpole is actively working to push things in a different direction, Mothwing's philosophy is "if it sucks, HIT DA BRICKZ"

Which she finally does, during TBC. Mistystar doesn't get the satisfaction of exiling her, Mothwing leaves before she can officially say it.

Thunderclan's atmosphere however, is even worse. Crowfeather got himself Dishonor Titled for simply talking about his dead mother to help another cat suffering with grief. Bramblestar having renamed him Lostfeather. A missing feather that doesn't seem to know its place. A drifting feather that will guide youth (his apprentice) astray.

Yeah... No thanks. Leafpool is wonderful, and their adventure together during Squirrelflight's Freedom was downright magical... But that is not worth it. Skyclan is staying neutral and rabbit makes Mothwing feel gross... Shadowclan ain't so bad, right?

Her strong bond with Leafpool stays strong throughout the books, the two openly affectionate with one another. She loves how quietly strong Leafpool is, how selfless she has been, and just how protective Leafpool is of her loved ones.

On Crowfeather's side of things, he leaves Windclan after The Last Hope, as a storm gathers on the horizon, he finally departs from the Clan he didn't want to stay in and joins Thunderclan, becoming Leafpool's mate and doing his best to bond with his children to varying degrees of success.

Lionblaze was a wee bit too busy at first, with Cinderheart going into a false labour making him the world's Most Anxious Man. Doesn't help that Crowf just... Cannot do labor. He is the man who faints moments after telling you to take deep breaths.

Jayfeather was in a depressive spell and didn't want to speak with anyone, especially after the death of Whitewing. He... really beat himself up about it.

Well... At least Hollyleaf made a joke about them being good night hunters thanks to their dark coats.

He is trying his best, and they do come around. He reassures Lionblaze that he'll be a great dad, helps Jay with his depression management and PTSD, and supports all of Hollyleaf's ambitions. (He also makes an effort to be good with Breezey-P.)

He isn't in love with Mothwing, and Mothwing isn't in love with him, they both love Leafpool, and they are good friends. He continuously works hard to be the best mate he can be to Leafpool, with gifts, assistance whenever it can be given, as well as lots of nice massages after a long day of medical work.

Now, on for the third member of our trio:

Leafpool! Now SAVED from a pathetic death and getting to stay alive during the chaotic events of TBC. She is also Dishonor Titled, given the name Mothpuddle. It's a strange name, one that sends a very clear message to her that "Bramblestar" knows something he shouldn't.

More on that later. She and Mothwing were also strongly bonding during The Great Journey, and she debated asking Mothwing to run away with her, only deciding against it because Riverclan didn't have another Medicine Cat, and it wouldn't have been fair to make Moth decides between her beloved career and a life out in the sticks.

She loves Crowfeather for his passion, his wit, and his soft side that emerged while they traveled together through the mountains. She loves Mothwing for her ingenuity, her grace, and her ability to take charge when needs be.

It helps that they love her kids. Mothwing gets along beautifully with The Three, especially Jayfeather.

They finally get together during Dark Times/ASC's ending, when Mothwing leaves Riverclan once and for all to enjoy a peaceful life in Thunderclan. The Clans are about to enter a very tumultuous time, with Skyclan being leaderless, Thunderclan and Windclan's new leaders not having their 9 lives, while Riverclan and Shadowclan's new leaders having been given a dark blessing off of gray wings.

I think the most tragic thing Erin Hunter ever pulled was make Leafpool, a woman who once looked at a fellow female medicine cat and immediately went „oh my gooood she‘s so prettyyyyyy!!!“, the only she-cat to ever be close with other she-cats that aren’t her sister, fall for a skinny dramatic asshole dude just for the heck of it

A few lil ref sheets I did for myself for the Sasha/Goldenflower kits and the Goldenflower/Tigerclaw kits ^^

In this AU I switched the dynamic in TNP a little, while Bramble ended up going to shadowclan in TPB, Tawnyflower brings Squirrelpaw along the journey begrudgingly, and falls in love with Feathertail, and holding the “leader” position of the chosen cats.

Crowfeather still takes on her suffix, as they had more of a friendship than romance, as Feathertail kinda coaxes him out of his shell to get along with everyone and especially Squirrelpaw.

Meanwhile, Mothstrike and Leafpool have a sort of enemies to lovers vibe, as Leafpool is helping out Hawkfeather, she’s initially very intimidated by his sister. Leafpool def catches feelings first, and Mothstrikes pretty aware of that, and enjoys kind of egging her on, shifting the “fire and tiger” omen (now renamed the “fire and gold” omen) onto Mothpool, instead of Bramble and Squilf.

After Mothstrike dies trying to kill firestar, leafpool waits in her dreams every night, and every half moon hoping she’ll walk in her dreams (which, sadly she doesn��t)

I think all of these are not canon but honestly in Warriors the best ships are the ones that aren’t real. (Also side note, I have multiple ships with a same character, that’s because I don’t ever really have a ‘favorite’ ship and I often like multiple ships)

Random's top 10 favorite warrior cats ships.

10. This is my favorite Canon ship in Warrior Cats because it is healthy, (Other ships are healthy too, but they never really got in conflict with eachother). Unfortunately Willowbreeze and Crookedstar had a very sad end in Crookedstar's Promise. Overall, love these two dearly.

9. This is real, and canon. If you guys disagree with me either you are homophobic, or just never read Tallstar's Revenge. A couple of years back, I didn't understand the ship, until I picked up that book, opened it, and read it. My mind was like, "Oh! So that is why people like them so much!" Because Tallstar seemed pretty attracted to Jake, and attached to him. It was sad when they departed.

8. This is really good, and awesome, they loved being around eachother in Graystripe's Vow. Honestly, Flipclaw should have never left the tribe so he can be with Feather.

7. I feel like the books in A Starless Clan just says that Whistlepaw and Frostpaw should be together. Whistlepaw has helped Frostpaw out during the newest book. Well at least the first half, I have not finished it yet.

6. I think the dynamic of these two are hilarious, just think that after a long time of Sunbeam and Lightleap hating eachother, they would just be together, and Nightheart would be just like, ":o" and I just love Lightleap in general.

5. I think of the same for these two. Honestly it would make Lionblaze the slightest bit more interesting than his relationship with Cinderheart. Same for Berrynose. I also respect Jayberry as well. Jayberry is the other best Jayfeather ship besides Jaykestrel, and Jayfuzz.

4. This is Canon too. I think Ravenpaw x Barley is more clear than Tallstar x Jake, and Barley is the definition emotional support for Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw's Path is cool, and Ravenpaw's Farewell is okay. I hope Barley will see Ravenpaw again someday, he is basically 10 million years old if there is no more info on Barley.

3. I think everyone expected Mothpool to be on everyone's top 10 list. It really reads like Leafpool had a crush on Mothwing before Crowfeather came along. I was obsessed with this ship back in March of 2023.

2. This is my favorite rarepair in Warrior Cats for literally no reason. I just think that Hazeltail being happy to be around Hollyleaf is really cute for like I said, no reason. I am glad this ship is getting noticed by other people.

1! My heart is so happy to put Kestreljay on this list! Jaykestrel, Kestreljay, whatever you call it is my life! I get so happy when someone makes Kestreljay. Even draws it. I love this ship because back in the book Long Shadows, Jaypaw showed up in Kestrelpaw's dreams, and it seems like Kestrelpaw dreams about him often because he didn't seemed weirded out, or bothered. He was happy to see him. And what also gets me is back in Outcast where Kestrelpaw asked Jaypaw what is it was like to be blind. I thought that was funny. Everyone knows how Jayfeather acts. Perhaps Mothwing x Nightcloud or Breezepelt x Willowshine kits?

A little about the au where this happens:

Nightcloud after finding out of the gathering about Crowfeather’s affair decides that it’s better to go from him with Breezepelt as fast as possible, because she doesn’t want to know if Crowfeather had more mates than she thought. So after the gathering, Night and Breeze go back to their clan, only to announce that they’re leaving tomorrow. As you understand, Onestar is not happy about it, but decides not to question her decision.

Once she gets in RiverClan, she and her son need quite some time to get used to new environment. Of course, they often get injuries, and have to spend a lot of time in medicine den. Eventually, they decide that it’ll be best if Nightcloud was a permanent queen and Breezepelt was part time medicine cat, because this way, they don’t need to adjust a lot, and their skills of underwater hunting aren’t the best.

Some time later, one of them finds out that they’re expecting kits, so instead of repeating Leafpool’s mistake, they just decided to say that they found an abandoned litter of kits.

MAN Nightcloud feels like a hypocrite...but she also understands Crowfeather a bit more...he's still an abusive jerk though

Otter has Sasha's wavy fur, but longer like Hawkfrost once had...and Frog is a dead ringer for Tadpole, but is fearless in water and an excellent swimmer

I dislike Spottedleaf X Firestar very much. Even if it was a short "love" story. Even then, I don't think Spottedleaf truly LOVED Firestar, I think she idolized him. He was the cat that would save her clan, her home and loved ones. She didn't love him, she loved that he was The Chosen One.

I dislike Millie X Graystripe too. They were okay, but we all know that Silverstream is Greystripe's true mate. And what is going to happen to Millie when he dies? Does Millie go to starclan and then just gets abandoned by Greystripe so he can be with Silverstream?

A fan ship that I dislike in Mothwing X Leafpool. I'm sorry but where in the books does Leafpool mention any loving feelings towards Mothwing? Genuinley asking? I think the two are friends.

I really liked both Leafpool X Crowfeather and Feathertail X Crowfeather. I think the Feathertail's passing was extremely tramatic for Crowfeather and I really loved when he chose her "feather" to be in his name. I think Leafpool reminded Crowfeather of Feathertail and thats why he loved her so much.

So here’s an AU no one probably cares to hear. Thanks to Twitter and there being a warriors ship vote toll there I fell down the Fireheart x Morningflower ship and I’ve been thinking of an AU.

I also did a family tree and I’m gonna explain a few things

Instead of Thunderclan fireheart is raised in Windclan. Jake asks Nutmeg to let him take their two kits; Rusty and Princess; to Windclan for they hold a special destiny and she agrees. He meets Tallstar and asks for him to raise the two kits in the clan. Rusty is named Emberkit and Princess is named Softkit.

Emberheart and Morningflower are together and they have Gorsepaw, Quailkit and Storkkit in their first litter. Then later have Leafpool and Squirrelflight.

Brightheart ended up leaving Thunderclan after the dog attack that killed Swiftpaw and where she was renamed Lostface by Bluestar(what happens in the books). She didn’t like that Bluestar pratically acted the way she did and joined Windclan where her and Cloudtail get together. Instead of Whitewing it’s Swiftleap; named after Swiftpaw.

I also wanted to do something different and split up the Po3. Jaykit is the son of Feathertail and Crowfeather. I decided to switch the au where it was Stormfur who died in the mountains instead of Feathertail. But Feathertail and Nightcloud decide to leave to join the tribe together.

Hollykit and Breezekit are the kits of Squirrelflight and Crowfeather who are together. Lionkit was found as an orphaned and is being raised by Mothwing in Riverclan. He has two proud medicine cat mommas.

I honestly didn’t know what to do and who to make the parents of Ivypool and Dovewing so I made it Harespring because well it’s my AU.

I gave Scourge a mate and kit because why not. Raven was just a placeholder name and I might change it but I’m keeping their kits name as Dragonfly.

Softheart was with Cloudrunner instead of Cloudrunner being with Morningflower because well she’s with Emberheart(Fireheart). He dies anyway in my rewrite and Softheart gets together with Ashfoot and raise Crowfeather and Cloudkit together. Ashfoot and Deadfoot were mates but drifted apart after the death of their kits which left only Crowkit alive.

I’ve always HC Kestrelflight, Harespring and Heathertail as siblings. Being born to Onewhisker and Whitetail. Onewhisker still had kits with Smoke and the same happened where he abandoned them leaving Smoke to teach her two remaining kits; Darktail and Lynxfrost; to hate the clans.

three ships I like: This is a hard one. I ship a lot of things. But the ships I've been braining about recently would probably be Rainwhisker x Crowfeather, Feathertail x Crowfeather.... honestly a third is kind of hard... the Crowfeather brainrot is real lol. But I also really like Firestar x Sandstorm and Mothwing x Leafpool. Can you tell I like shipping warrior cats?

last song I heard: No idea honestly, I haven't listened to a lot of music as of late, at least not on purpose. The stream I'm listening to right now has minecraft music as backround music though so does that count??

favourite childhood book: Again hard but probably Farmer boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and the Little house in the big woods series in general, The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie smith, and Charlotte's web by E. B. White.

currently reading: Tragically I haven't been reading as of late, but I've been planing on reading Squirrel flight's hope and the Broken code for like years so we'll see when that happens :P

currently watching: Youtube mostly. Haven't really been watching any particular show. I do have some plans to watch a few things with my sister when she gets home from uni though :)

first ship ever: No idea. I honestly can't remember when I started properly shipping. It could have been a lot of things. It might have been Aaron x Aphmau in Mystreet or Aphmau x Laurence in Minecraft diaries. That's just a guess though.

I kinda have just one of those batshit insane warrior cat aus where I swapped tigerclaw and goldenflowers roles, along with tigerclaws kids. So like Tawnypelt and brambleclaw are swapped and renamed Tawnyfower and Bramblepelt, and then Mothwing and Hawkfrost for Mothstalk (I don’t rlly have a set name for her yet 💀) and Hawkfeather.

It’s basically spiraled out of control where I combined like ALL of my side line aus into that one so mothpool is canon but in an enemies to lovers way, Squirrelcrow are the threes bio parents and tawnyflower is covering for squirrelflight as the biological other parent
