Those stats but with crossover fics excluded
im about to start screaming
#I felt like this would be a good idea just considering that a lot of the among us stuff I was seeing at the height of the hype were#crossover fics#Plus this gives actual stats for what relationships look like when it's ONLY for this fandom and not influenced by any others (by which I#mean where people do fusion aus where they insert their ships into among us)#And is F/F very high compared to M/M even this way? No#HOWEVER#It means a lot to me in the midst of this annoying annoying discourse that what dominates among us fandom minus crossover aus is GEN fic#I don't care to participate in this discourse but I do dislike the original twitter post and all things considered the stats minus#crossover fics are actually kinda neat?#like all of them have less than 500 fics. There's more Other than F/M. There's more Gen than M/M#Idk man it's interesting

I have been violently gripped with the idea of a CODxAC Crossover, where Ghost and the 141 stumbling across an Isu facility. They spread out to search the ruins and Ghost ends up in a vast open room containing pods. There are hundreds of them in neat rows, but only one seem to contain something. Infant twins bearing the numbers 16 and 17 on their right and left shoulder respectively. On the side of the pod there is some text carved into the metal itself. '16=Clay 17=Desmond. TRUST ONLY 141'. Reading it gives Ghost a deep chill. Before he can think further on it, the pod starts to empty and open. The kids open their eyes and stare at him with eyes he swears glow, but in a blink it's gone. Must have been his imagination. The place suddenly rumbles and his radio comes to life.
"Ghost, get out of there! Think we might have activated a self destruct sequence!"
Before he can think too hard about it, Ghost grabs the kids and starts running while chunks of the ceiling falls down around him. Strangely enough the kids don't make any noise at the rough treatment or the violent shaking and noise.
---------
So yeah, thanks to Saberamane, i have gotten into reading CoD fanfics. XD I remembered your fic on it and then i was just violently gripped with the image of a baby Desmond reaching his little hands up at Ghost and when he holds Desmond up to his face, the baby just places his hands on the mask and stares at it while smiling. Anytime anyone, besides 141, tries to take Desmond or Clay they start to fuss and/or scream bloody murder, so the gangs kinda stuck baby sitting. Well, more like Ghost with Soap's help. Price is busy trying to figure out why the General(idk enough about the lore, so unnamed General it is XD) is really interested in taking the kids. They lied about them being found inside the pods and said they found the dead body of a woman with the kids, so the interest in them is strange. Plus the ominous message written in the pod seems important. Ghost hates him, gets a strange sense of... Red??? from him.
So yeah, another hyperfixation it is. XD
If this is the reboot, he started as Lieutenant General and ends up as a General. In the OG though, Shepherd was Lieutenant General until his death.
We can set it up that Desmond and Clay are testtube babies Elijah created but Abstergo was hot on his tail so he ‘tipped off’ 141 of the location and lying of its connection to a secret terrorist organization.
Well…
It wasn’t necessary a lie because 141 is trying to find the Brotherhood. In the eyes of the world, the Brotherhood is a terrorist organization and 141 is tasked with finding their operations and stopping them.
In this one, Shepherd could either be a Templar, an ally of the Templar or (use the setup of The Shadow’s Endgame) a disillusioned Assassin gone rogue.
He doesn’t immediately clocked the babies Ghost took in as Desmond and Clay. Hell, Ghost knows well enough not to officially call them Desmond and Clay, instead going nicknames like ‘D’ and ‘C’. Soap and Gaz had been calling them different names to try and find out their actual names and they haven’t hit any jackpot yet.
Shepherd is interested in taking in the kids because he learned that the facility they attacked (which was nearby the supposed village that got wiped out during the operation) was Elijah’s secret lab.
Although they all believe Elijah to be dead so the place is actually for an unknown ‘third party’.
Abstergo believed that person is the current Sage, having awakened Aita’s memories after Elijah’s death.
So the question becomes why did Elijah decide to entrust Desmond and Clay to 141?
Because he was planning to infiltrate 141 later on.
As the new recruit of 141: Gary "Roach" Sanderson
#the best part of having a new hyperfixation#is having ideas of crossovers between two or more hyperfixation XD#it is taking all my willpower not to kick desmond to any of the gacha games i'm playing#it's not helping that i do try to name my character desmond if i could get away with it XD#assassin's creed#fic idea: assassin's creed#teecup writes/has a plot#ask and answer#desmond miles#fic idea: call of duty#fic idea: crossover#simon ghost riley#simon riley

Sometimes I have random plot thoughts on stories that I like reading or am writing and I just wanna talk about a few that keep squirming around in my mind.
Tachophobia AU: Random Idea... In an attempt to stop his friends from reverting Niko back to Sonic, Starline secretly takes them into the facility and starts manipulating them in similar but also different ways. They could interact if he wanted, but it'd be a "Psych Ward" situation.
Imprisonment/Cybernetic AU: I have done a lot of messed up shit to characters before, and this isn't any different. Just look at my Cybernetic AU because jeez Issue 4 went hard on Sonic's trauma. It was actually my favorite to write and draw. I also got all of the work done in FOUR DAYS. (strange record. Was going to see a friend soon and I cranked out 11 pages and finished right before midnight the day before)
I actually wing a ton of my writing, and many plots don't get off the ground unfortunately because of it. So to shoutout some of those abandoned comics... "Not So Different" (A short mini between Canon!Shadow and Cybernetic!Sonic bc I noticed how similar they were), that one mlp x sonic pony comic I only got one page done for and don't have a name for, another mlp x sonic crossover comic featuring the Paradox Prism I only got to the cover art for, and that Imprisonment AU comic I completely forgot about and... Unfortunately abandoned but idk might come back to it.
Shadow Prime AU: I've always wanted to make a comic adaptation of the fic, and I might come around to it eventually once I decide what I wanna do. The main issue is the art style... Do I want it fully colored, black and white, or selective coloring? Not too sure but I'm kinda leaning on fully colored. But I still gotta finish Cybernetic but it's on hiatus due to burnout.
Sonic Cybernetic AU: I've actually wished for a game adaptation of the comic. Or at least... Working models people could use for other games to add them. I just think that'd be neat, but I can't code or model for anything.
Sometimes I accidentally enforce personal headcanons or personal experience to my writing... This happened recently with the "Rollercoaster" fic from the Tachophobia AU (reminder: I just like it. I did not create it. That belongs to @boom-fanfic-a-latta and @the-sky-queen.) Because I unintentionally drew from my own experiences from an amusement park. Although they were exaggerated a bit, they're still oddly close to my original memories. When I was younger, I liked going to the County Fair, and for the longest time I hated fast rides. I'd always panic on them, and my favorite ride was this caterpillar one (it was also slow paced and kinda bumpy). And Niko's experience, albeit shifted to be more like his character, was exactly how I felt on my first fast ride... Absolutely fucking terrified. I also sometimes have a nervous stammer and suffer from anxiety issues, so... I might've unintentionally written Niko to feel similarly to me at amusement parks when I was younger.
Anyway, just some random stuff, wanted to info-dump too. Cool? Okay, bye!
#text post#sonic#sonic au#rambles#random thoughts#Didn't mention this BUT I actually love how the “Rollercoaster” name for the fic has two meanings.#One references the actual rollercoaster and theme park in general.#And the other is like a “Rollercoaster of Emotions”#I just think it's neat#Pragmatophobia AU

Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason. <3
First fic: That Inspirational Stuff , a long Poe/Finn fic set after the Last Jedi where I tried to create the satisfying character arcs that the actual movies never would for Poe and Finn. It's funny that this is my first fic listed on Ao3 because the very first fanfic I ever wrote in my life was handwritten in a journal when I was 13, when I tried to imagine a sequel trilogy to the original SW trilogy.
Last fic: Here Comes the Bride, Ed/Stede and inspired by the S2 teaser.
Wrote once: I'm not sure how much this counts, but I wrote a Pacific Rim/OFMD crossover fic, lovers in a dangerous time, which is the only Pacific Rim fic I've ever written.
Favorite fic in biggest fandom: Not sure how to quantify biggest fandom, so I'll go with OFMD. My fav fic I've written for that is The World Beyond. I am proud of it because I wrote it as being post s1 in terms of where Ed and Stede's relationship was at while also being set in a dystopian cli-fi near future, and, now having seen the trailer and teaser, I kinda think I got the post s1 vibes right.
Fic I wish more people read: The Legend of the Gentleman and the Outlaw, by Lucius Spriggs (La Leyenda del Hidalgo y El Bandido, translated by Jim Jimenez), I just think it's neat. I tried to write it using the structure of Cloud Atlas and mostly succeeded. There's two chapters done in bird POV. And I particularly love Lucius's arc in it.
Fic I agonized over most: don't let me die with my soul in the air, my massive retelling of S1 and beyond from Ed's POV. Holee shit I agonised over this guy, especially S1E10 Ed. Rewatching his scenes in that episode was heartbreaking.
Fic that sprang fully formed: Mile High Club, I genuinely think I wrote this thing in like... two days? I had to get it out of my head via keyboard.
Fic I'm proud of: Runaway Effects, which I co-wrote with @petrichorca. It was my first ever collaboration and I think we made something really beautiful that I think about all the time.
tagging @petrichorca @elapsed-spiral @mxmollusca @emi--rose and anyone else who wants to join the fun!

😊🛳️✨ for the fic rec ask meme?
Thanks so much for the ask!! :-)
😊 A fic that made you smile on a bad day
Definitely You have (9,999) new messages by Hafn1um!! It’s a crack fic that follows the plot of the show in a chatfic style and had me cackling the whole time as I read it. Also it gives a little name/lore drop to pretty much everyone on the expedition whether they’re represented in the show or not which I think is neat. :-)
🛳️ A fic that brought you aboard a new ship
Somebody to Love by neversaydie got me HOOKED on Irving/Hartnell, oh man. The prose/narration is perfect (and it’s from Hartnell’s POV!!), it has some great background world building, and it opened my eyes to the wonders of these two as a pairing, I can’t recommend it enough!!
✨ A fic you wish you could read again for the first time
Sad Sack Ice Trap by Charlotte_Stant has a special place in my heart because I’m a sucker for crack treated seriously and this fic is just. Hilarious and so well written. It’s a Succession crossover where (through time travel shenanigans ofc), Tom Wambsgans ends up in the Arctic and gets picked up by the crew of the Terror. I first read it before I had gotten into the Terror (it was actually my first introduction to the show, oddly enough!), so, like Tom, I had no clue who anyone was lol. Once I was deep into the Terror brain rot I read it again and had a blast figuring out who everyone was from their little descriptions (Goodsir, for example, is described as looking “like a sheepdog in a sentimental kids’ movie” which still sends me every time I think of it.) so I did kinda get to read it again for the first time, in a way!
(From this fic rec ask game)

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Five! Not a lot atm but I used to write a lot on wattpad as well 😅
2. What is your AO3 word count?
11,227 words :P
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Tokusatsu! Namely Kamen Rider Build and King Ohger atm, but I also have a planned Ex-Aid fic (and some old my little pony fics I may move over from wattpad lmao)
4. What are your top five fics by Kudos?
Since I only have five, my top three are
Getting to Know the Boogeyman
Of Courtship & Coccinelles and
Red Looks Good on You
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Definitely Sento’s Wandering Mind, the whole thing is a vent piece and I heavily relate to Sento so it’s more of personal processing than anything lmao
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Of Courtship & Coccinelles! I write most stuff with fluffy endings but that one definitively ends on a bright note
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope!
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
I’ve written two smut pieces so far, which is a huge step for me personally for many reasons, but they’re both best match fics :3 one angst, one fun and sexy. Honestly I draw more of it than I write it lol
10. Do you write crossovers? I hate the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
I’m not much for writing crossovers BUT the exaid fic I’ve had in the works for a while technically is one bc it’s hatsune Miku as a bugster lol
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also no but would be neat :)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not on AO3 but I love bouncing ideas off of people and also working on characters together, esp mine and @chilipepperconverse ‘s KR OCs :3 actually I used to co-write with friends all the time in middle school when we wrote together.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Bonkers ass question but rn my answer would probably be Bravesnipe?? But I feel like there’s definitely ones I’m crazier abt out there. Maybe sonotaro…
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Unfortunately probably the Miku exaid fic ;-; the concept is fun and cute but with some stuff I get an outline or somethin cookin and then it never sees the light of day again
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I’m pretty good at detailed descriptions and visuals. I’m much more an artist than a writer, so I’ve spoken before about how I view my stories like written descriptions of story boards, and I absolutely love to try and paint a picture with my words.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
In my actual writing I’m unsure and would love to hear any feedback, but for me it’s actually just GETTINg myself to write. It takes a lot of mental energy to start the task and I can never really make myself do it, it’s only when I’m in a rare and intense mood for writing somethin that I’ve got a REALLY solid idea on. That’s mostly why I’ve got so few fics. I have more ideas, but it’s difficult to get myself to a point with any of them where I’ll actually write any of it out lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Personally I think it’s neat when other people do it, but unless it’s French I probably never will. Even then I’d be so nervous about getting it wrong I’d probably find some kinda work around
19. First fandom you wrote for?
On AO3 it’s King Ohger, but in reality…. Oh boy. Warriors fanfic abt my sonas when I was like 10? Outside of OCs my first canon-aligned fanfic was probably one of the my little pony ones on wattpad. I did mostly original character stuff when I wrote frequently as a tween so I guess I didn’t start with fanfic until like a year or two ago.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I only have a few so I’m proud of them all for different reasons, but I think Sento’s Wandering Mind is one that I’m particularly fond of even tho it didn’t do as well as the others. It’s conceptually something I’ve been trying to put into words for a long time, and it was my first foray into writing anything REMOTELY sexual, which was a huge jump for me that I’m very proud of as a person who previously struggled a lot more with “catholic shame” if I had to put a word to it. It’s kinda a heavy read and isn’t perfect, but the fact that it’s out in the world is important to me and I’m happy with it. Hope you all enjoy!!
Tagging @chilipepperconverse and @cantarella-rose and anyone else who’d like to participate! :3
#tiny warbles#archive of our own#update btw: I did decide to add those mlp fics to my ao3 as well so now I have two more!

9 People You Would Like to Get to Know Better.
Was tagged by @shootingstarpilot, ta very much.
Three ships: I'll go with one for each of my current main fandoms, so Jocasta Nu/Plo Koon for Star Wars (I am still here thriving on my pool floaty for that one), Dick Grayson/Wally West for DC, and Danny Fenton/Jason Todd for DCxDanny Phantom (yes that is still DC, no I do not care, there's enough crossover fics that it practically counts as it's own fandom ok.)
First ever ship: Uuuuh. Uuuuh. Y'know. I cannot remember for the life of me? Genuinely it might've been NaruMitsu, aka Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright, from my original re-dive into fandom hell outside of just playing games.
Everything about that is a weird thought. I consider myself to have been in fandom stuff since like 2015, I didn't get into Ace Attorney until like 2018 or so because a friend was streaming their playthrough of it? And it was like another year or two later before I found that first fic (Saturation by TiedyedTrickster on AO3, lovely fic, genuinely wonderful). But I really can't remember anything else I actually actively shipped earlier than that? Like maybe there were a few things but I seem to remember that a lot of that kinda stuff was very much me glancing at a fic and going 'oh hey that chemistry's neat' but not really caring about it outside of that fic. Huh. Anyway.
Last song: Immortalized, Hidden Citizens.
Last movie: soft error sounds so I don't watch movies because my attention span is dogshit. I think the last thing that I actually full-force sat down and watched all the way through without my brain wandering off entirely was Moana, and that was over a year ago?
Man I need to watch more movies. I'm pretty sure I've got a watchlist somewhere.
Currently reading: I'm kinda sorta on a book break at the moment in that there are a lot of books I could be reading, my shelf is super full, but my brain is not currently capable of reading new things and so they're all sitting there glaring at me from a distance. If we're willing to talk fics though I'm rereading Commander by Drich with is a Planetary Annihilation Self Insert and also fucking incredible like everything else they write.
Currently consuming: I have my big jug of water (it's a 1L mason jar that I repurposed for drinking from because it means I actually remember to drink things) and am contemplating having a mooch through my snack box for chocolate.
Currently craving: the inari nigiri and little mochi balls that they have at the Yo! sushi bar thing in my local Tesco. I had to go shopping earlier for some bits and thought about getting some for lunch but didn't cause I have food at home. Jokes on me, I guess, now I really want it but it's currently tipping it down with rain and I'm not going out in that to go get food when I've already eaten.
No pressure tags for @kalicofox, @greentrickster since I mentioned your fic, and @clockwayswrites, and also anyone else who spots this out in the wild and decides they'd like to!
#my life be like#personal#this was really fun to do#mostly because the only thing that was easy for me to answer was the song question lol#like the ships were fairly easy in that they don't have a small goddamn essay to go with them#but the hard part of that was picking the ships#everything else on this list though? lmao guess you got what you wanted in getting to know me better#cause i just infodumped half my life story here

I'm slowly working my way through the stories of Guilty Gear, and have already fallen in love with Testament and Johnny. Do you have any JohnnyTes recs, either fic or art?
In hindsight I'll admit I'm a little surprised! Most of the Johnny/Testament stuff at least of what I've seen only cropped up with Testament's Strive appearance outside of Pixiv, for some reason they have a bit of a microculture there for the pairing, which I think is neat. And just in general it's cool to see how the perceived dynamic looked between pre-strive and post-strive, there's actually not as much a difference as I would have expected!
So, there's a reason I go with JoniTes or JohnnyTes specifically, because I know people like to do JohnnyTest as a silly meme thing but that also makes it harder to parse out as its own thing, so doing it this was makes it a little easier to find. I'd definitely advise trying to use that on twitter so you won't have to comb through a whole other tag about an unrelated cartoon (that and afaik 'Jonites' is what's used for the Japanese tag). For fics more generally, here's the pairing tag on AO3, feel free to search at your leisure, though some of the fics have them as a background pairing or in a crossover fic (dunno if that's a dealbreaker for you or not, I'm not generally a fan) so if you want strictly Johnny/Testament-centered fics there's about ten or eleven to look at! Kinda disappointing, but given that the standard for a lot of the not-super-popular pairings is really low I guess this is actually half decent compared to most

🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)
🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?
🥭 Rank from most enjoyable/fun to write to least: Fluff, Smut, Angst, Crack.
🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?
🍈 Who’s your blorbo and what are some of your favorite headcanons/ideas about them that repeatedly show up in your fics? Free pass to rant about blorbo opinions.
"a few," he said
🍒: very, very close competition between Oblivious Idiots, Sharing A Braincell and platonic/familial relationships in general.
🍑: this is...a really good question. I'm actually not sure. I'm not actually involved in a lot of media and their fandoms, and the ones that I am, their genres and themes vary so wildly that I struggle to draw comparisons. I'm also pretty stubborn and like my things in neat little defined boxes. I did deliberately make a pop culture reference once for comedic effect and it kinda worked.
🥭:
angst - are we really surprised
smut - depending on the day/subject matter, this can be swapped with fluff. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's a pain to write.
fluff - I don't mind fluff, most of my ideas don't float this way unfortunately
crack - crack is the only genre I actively don't like, and this is true in trad media as well. Especially those that are meta-aware/break the 4th wall. This is something I associate with cartoons I grew up watching (think Looney Toons), and now I just don't find it as compelling or funny. I wouldn't even know how to start something cracky.
🍌: I usually don't intentionally put in jokes. Probably a toss-up of the pop culture reference listed above (a reference to Titanic, 'draw me like one of your French girls' became 'paint me like an Orlesian girl'); and a pseudo-meta reference in Broken Bird about Leliana probably being able to snap someone's neck with just her legs (which she does in Inquisition if you side with the mages).
🍈: I'm Not Normal about Leliana. As of yet, I don't think I have any recurring things for her across my fics (at least not intentionally) aside from Morrigan referring to her as 'little bird.' She does this in the Broken Bird universe as well as an unpublished Morriana ficlet sitting in my drafts. I don't really have much else to say about her except leave her aloneeeeee.

☀️❤️💕
☀️: what’s something you wish you’d see more of in fandom?
(You've asked this one twice, my friend XD) (Fortunately, I have more than one answer for it, so I'll spread them out between asks ^_^)
I would love to see more written crossovers with other animated media featuring stickfigures! Henry Stickmin has been done before, but that's pretty much it. It would be awesome to see the AvA cast combined with the cast of Slush Invaders, for example! And doing crossovers with the likes of Hyun's Dojo or Zetabrand or GildedGuy would be extra interesting, because of the more meta elements that AvA could potentially bring to the table: Is the land of Cier a real place, where the Rock Hard Gladiators carry out their lives as we see them in the duels? Is it an entire stick-country full of warring stick-cities, separate and removed from the world of computer desktops and internet browsers? Or are the duelist sticks all something akin to stunt actors, choreographed by animators fully aware of their sentience? What came first, their story or their self-awareness? Would the color gang see them as unknown figures of mythical proportions? Or are they more like celebrities?
What would be more fun, having the color quintet as we see them in canon meet these sticks as their story-selves? Or having the color quintet as we see them in canon meet them as just fellow sticks who are animated into videos by animators? I just think it would be neat, is all.
(Also Orange and the others playing Slush Invaders just sounds like a blast.)
❤️: favorite character(s)? Why?
Green and Blue, but not because there's anything about them that I find more intriguing than any of the others. I honestly just like their vibes the most, out of everyone. (Which is kinda ironic since my Discord mates tell me I tend to act like Yellow.)
💕: Otp?
I actually...don't really ship in this fandom XD When I first discovered this series, all I wanted was to read some nerdy tumblr analysis, but when I searched the text posts all I could find was shipping, shipping everywhere as far as the eye could see.
(At one point in time before Showdown was released, I was literally responsible for all the non-shipping AvA fics on ao3. Those were dark times /lh I literally had to create my own reading material because nobody else was)
I don't have anything in general against shipping the sticks, it's just not my cup of tea 🍵
(Though I will say that I can see Chosen x Dark working)

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Thank you for the tag @lizardberries
How many works do you have on ao3? 7
What’s your total ao3 word count? 41,941
What fandoms do you write for? Currently just Star Wars and Red vs. Blue have anything finished, but there are many many more to come.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1. Loyalty As A Love Language (SW) 2. Altar (SW) 3. Multitasking (SW) 4. Marvels Have Gathered (RvB) 5. A Hard Day's Knife (RvB)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes. I adore getting comments, but I often find it really challenging to leave them myself, and I get really excited when anyone replies to me. I figure that others probably feel the same, so I do my best to reply to everyone who has put in so much effort.
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Uhh, I guess Call Me When You're Ready To Be Real, although it's not really an ending since it's not finished. I just have no idea where I want to take it next. I'm not counting the cliffhanger on A Hard Day's Knife because I think I'm actually going to go back and change it.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Loyalty As A Love Language and Marvels Have Gathered are probably tied.
Do you get hate on fics? Once when I was still posting on ff.net I got a troll trying to bait me with the typical purity culture bullshit. Which genuinely was delightful to me. Like bro, you took enough time out of your day, literally hours, to read sixty thousand words just so you could leave me a comment about how I'm a horrible person for writing a few throwaway lines to make a fictional character accurate to how they're portrayed in canon? That's fuckin hilarious. So glad you'll never get that time back to use on something more productive. I kinda feel like a Big Deal if I wrote something popular enough to get noticed by the trolls.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes. This is brand new for me. I am still tentatively trying things out. Up until recently I genuinely thought I would never write smut. It made me feel too awkward. But I keep having ideas!!!
Do you write crossovers? Crossovers rarely strike my fancy, but very occasionally I'll have an idea. I've got a few drafts, but honestly, those are lower priority than my other stories.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes, not by an individual (that I know of), but by Fictionhunt. Fictionhunt is an unauthorized aggregator; it scoops archives like ff.net without the authors' consent in order to re-post content. The only control a writer has, if they even know their work has been copied, is to ask that it be removed. They did take my stories down when I emailed them about it. You should go check if yours are there too.
Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I think that would be neat.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? I've got a bunch in the works with my bestie. No idea if we'll finish them, but we're having a very good time. The bouncing ideas off each other tends to snowball into pure crackfic most of the time though.
What’s your all-time favorite ship? Haha, if you know me long you learn that I find it nearly impossible to pick individual favorites. There are too many things to like. Why limit myself like that? I like ideas. I will ship almost anything if you write it well enough, and I love to play what if and put characters in Situations. But anything that reminds me of my own marriage will likely always have a top spot. There isn't enough celebration of wholesome successful relationships in fiction. Too much focus on The Drama of it all. I like understated. I like comfort. I like devotion without obsession. I like a team that always has each other's back. I like making each other laugh. And that elderly couple still holding hands and walking in the park. I like "Together or not all."
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? It depends on what you count as a WIP. I've got literally hundreds of ideas sitting waiting to be worked on, and I know a lot will never go anywhere. But I'd consider that different than actual WIPs. Once it's at that stage for me, I doubt I'll ever ever abandon anything. (I feel like this is a good time to point out that Rebel Child isn't gone. I'm just reworking it because I changed my mind about some goals I had for the story. It will go back up on ao3 eventually.)
What are your writing strengths? Spending wayyyyyy too much time reverse engineering unexplainable timelines and plotholes. In seriousness though, I think I'm pretty good at dialogue and like, melancholic introspection?
What are your writing weaknesses? I'm usually too impatient to be very descriptive of settings. And I think I have a tendency to both over and under explain things depending on if I think it's obvious or if I'm worried I won't get my point across.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I have bilingual characters that I'm going to have to ask my friends to help with because I do not trust Google Translate. On the subject of Star Wars fics specifically - I see people saying the clones wouldn't speak Mandoa and they make a lot of perfectly logical points about why not that I actually mostly agree with. But you know what? I do not care. I will keep having my clones speak Mandoa simply because I like it. Sometimes you just gotta do something because it's cool.
First fandom you wrote for? Sailor Moon when I was about twelve.
Favorite fic you’ve written? Currently, Loyalty As A Love Language because it's the longest one I've actually finished. It reminds me every time I look at it that yes, actually, I can do this.
This was super fun. Tagging whoever wants to play.

(Also bored at work) 🌿, 💥, aaaand 🎙️!
🌿how does creating make you feel?
I feel like it’s about half and half accomplishment and insanity lol On the one hand I love feeling like I’ve finished something and put it out into the world for other people to read and get enjoyment from, and on the other hand sometimes creating feels like I have to exorcise the idea demons from my brain before they completely take over, especially when I’m extremely deep in brainrot over an idea, be it original or fan content. Occasionally I’ll be disappointed or unimpressed by how one of my projects turns out, but more often than not I’m pretty proud :)
💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it.
LMAO my least kudos’d fic is this Hannibal/Cyberpunk crossover fic called Humans Are Such Easy Prey (named after a Perturbator song) and tbh I can kinda see why it’s low on the list, it’s a hyperspecific crossover that I only ever posted the first chapter to, but I think the concept is really neat and the parallels I drew between Will’s mental state and the cyberpunk concept of cyber psychosis are (in my opinion) chefs kiss 😚 👌🏻
🎙️which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of?
Honestly I would love for my TMA fic Game Set Match to get a podfic version! It would be kind of an ambitious project lol because it's such a large cast of characters but I would love to see how someone would go about voicing all the fears! Whether they did it themselves or got a group of people for voices. I'm actually quite proud of that one in general but it doesn't get a lot of hits because its gen (happens to a lot of my fics lmao) and doesn't include any of the main characters, just the fears!

Huh, somehow missed this. Looks fun! Let's get this done real quick.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently, I have 6, though I have a good few others in my notes that probably won't see the light of day for a long time. Got enough current projects already going, ya'know?
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
416,663. Honestly, I thought there'd be more.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I'm a bit all over the place with my hyperfixations. Right now, I've got fics for The Owl House, Undertale, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and Ratchet & Clank, with more fics in all of those fandoms prepared. I do also have some notes on a couple Percy Jackson fics, but I'm not sure those will ever see the light of day.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1 - Another Child Lost to the Mountain 2 - To Be Wild, To Be Happy, To Be Free 3 - Sketchy Potions & Magic Commotions 4 - Dress Up Party 5 - I Hate You (I Love You)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Oh absolutely! I love engaging with comments, whether it just be a quick little "I love your work!" or a detailed comment about the chapter. Comments are honestly some of my biggest motivators to keep going, and I can't describe how happy they make me. I will admit, I'm a bit selfish because part of the reason I respond to comments is because I hope it'll encourage others to comment, but I do just like talking to people about my works too!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Angsty endings aren't exactly my style, so m angstiest ending isn't really saying much, but it'd probably have to be I Hate You (I Love You). A story about grief is always going to have a bit of bittersweetness, even if it did end on a hopeful note.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my big fics are still either works in progress or part of a series that's still going, so I don't have too many endings to work with. So with that in mind, my happiest ending is probably in Dress Up Party, since its a pure fluff fic. Everything is hopeful, the characters are happy about the future, and things seem good! It's as fluffy and fun as can be.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope. The closest I ever got was some very valid criticism on one fic, and the person who gave it asked if it was okay first. People on AO3 have been absolutely lovely to me.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Naw, I don't write smut. I don't think people realize how hard writing good smut is. It's a skill that takes a lot of time to hone, and it's not something I'm personally interested in doing. But I've got a lot of respect for folks that can pull it off. ...also, a lot of the fandoms I'm in are focused around minors, and it would be hella weird for me to write smut about those.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
So far, no. The closest I've gotten to doing so is some cute character interactions I've written between characters in me and my friends' fic, and we have considered doing an actual crossover one shot between us. As for fandom crossovers, I haven't done any yet, but have considered doing a couple in the past. The biggest one being an Avatar x Owl House fic, with Eda finding Luz thinking she may be the Avatar because she picked out the correct toys, only to find out she's a non-bender, but sticking with her anyway cuz she gets attached. Maybe that'll come out some day, but if it does it won't be for a long time.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of. I certainly hope not, but with A.I going the way it is, I wouldn't be surprised if my work has been chewed up by the algorithms.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Once again, nope! I'm nowhere near big enough for that kinda thing. Would be pretty neat though.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really, though like I said, I have written a few crossover scenarios with other writer friends. If we ever do that crossover fic I mentioned, this answer will change.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
...ok so fun fact about me, I suck at picking a favourite anything. I just can't do it. How can I have a favourite ship when I like different ships for different reasons? It doesn't make sense! Am I supposed to make like a scoring system and say whichever gets the most points is deemed my favourite? So yeah, can't say a 100% definitive favourite, so here are the big ones I love and why I love them Lumity (Luz Noceda/Amity Blight) will forever hold a place in my heart for how wholesome and pure it is. These two have no strife or angst, and even when problems come up like Luz lying about what happened with her mum, the two handle it with surprising maturity! They're just so tooth-rottingly sweet and I adore them. Camilraeda (Camila/Eda/Raine) is one of my favourite poly ships of all time. These three are tired, chaotic in their own special ways, and can and will adopt any stray child they meet, whether they be human, witch, or cosmic god, and stars above do I love them for it! Percabeth (Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase) is the first ship I ever got invested in, and I love it to death to this very day. The OG slow burn of my childhood. These are two of the most loyal, ride-or-die idiots you will ever meet, and their complete devotion to each other is so sweet to read about. And finally, a bit of an ambiguous one, but Hero/Partner from the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. With all of the games, the vibes between the Hero and their Partner are so sweet. They always go through so much together, and there's always so much trust and love between them, and once again, they are so insanely ride-or-die for each other. Whether they're running from the law as they get hunted across the land or dragging themselves through a literal hellscape, the two of them always have each other's back. It's very sweet.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I had an idea for a fic in the Percy Jackson universe a while back about a clear-sighted trans girl getting saved and picked up by the Hunters of Artemis, with them training her and trying to bring her into the group. I have a whole series planned around it, with all the big plot points planned out, but I just don't know if I'll ever have the time to write it with all the other stories I have. Plus, motivation. It's hard to hype myself up to write a story centered around an OC when I know they can be a bit disliked by some communities.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue is easily my biggest strength. I can write characters bantering for days and days, and a lot of the time I have to cut myself off and make the characters shut up so I can move the plot along. A lot of the time, chapter planning for me involves writing everything in a script format with dialogue as the focus, with me filling in the exposition and fluff text around the character's chatting. While dialogue comes pretty naturally to me, I like to think I'm decent at writing fight scenes too. They are definitely a lot harder to do, cuz a lot goes into making a good fight scene; setting an interesting stage for the characters to move in, making sure the movements are clear and you know where everyone is at all times, while also not bogging things down with too many words to keep things snappy and quick, and emphasizing key words and moments to give combat the satisfying crunch that you get in media you can watch. It's hard, but I like to think I've done a good job of it in the past, and hope that I can continue to do so!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I've been told in the past that my writing can be too straight-forward at times, not taking the time or using enough flowery language to really sell certain emotions. In some situations, that can be a good thing, but there have been moments where I have failed to really sell the emotion of a key scene and make my audience feel what I wanted them to. It's something I'm working on, finding the balance between getting to the point and selling emotions right.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
...one of the main fandoms I write for is The Owl House, with the main character being an Afro-Latino girl. I think that answers the question. But seriously, I do love it. It adds a lot of charm to dialogue, but at the same time can be a bit difficult to sell in written media. In things like T.V shows, you can just add subtitles to show what the character is saying, but in written media like fics that can come off a bit awkwardly. Luckily, I've found a nice workaround, with some HTML script on AO3 allowing me to show the translation to things Luz says when you hover your mouse over the text! I think it's a nice mix, allowing me to show Luz being herself while not leaving the audience confused on what she's saying.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The Owl House is what got me into both reading and writing fanfic, with me getting my start on my first series with Sketchy Potions & Magic Commotions. You can definitely tell its my first work too, with my style developing as I go. Heck, I even had to go back and edit a couple of the super early chapters because of how rough they were.
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Hah! No. I've already established I can't pick favourite. I will say, I'm the most invested in continuing my two biggest projects, those being The Wild Light Series and Another Child Lost to the Mountain, but calling them my favourites? That's inaccurate at best.
Alright, so I guess it's my turn to tag folks? Floof already got most of my writer friend's in that friend circle, so how about I pick a few of the writers I love here on Tumblr?
@teshamerkel, @ocil91, and @memory-overload, I challenge thee to answer some questions! Enjoy!
Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for the tag @sneakyfox55! I don't normally do tag games, but this one looks really fun. (What author doesn't want the chance to ramble about their writing?) (This one is also copy/paste, so I'm less worried about clogging up people's dashes)
I'm going to put it under a cut since this is pretty long!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
As of now? 9! (But I have more than 35 fics in progress in my drafts that aren't posted.)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
129,647! But like, triple that (or more) if you want to count unposted stuff.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Undertale!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Heart on the Table
2. How to Defeat a Human in 6 Easy Steps
3. faux pas
4. How to Comfort a Panicking Child
5. How to Help a Human in 2 Easy Steps
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes!!! I love responding!!! I'm behind horribly right now because of my work's busy season, but I plan to catch back up! It's so fun to get to talk to people about the things I've poured my heart and soul into, you know? And I'm always glad to get to thank the people that took the time to leave a comment! It's a bit hard to keep up sometimes, though.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
"Is it Home Without You?" definitely. I'm still really proud of that fic, and it's part of a series with a happy ending, but the actual oneshot is the immediate aftermath of Gaster's lab accident from Sans's PoV. So, uh. Dead dad that no one but you remembers (not even your little brother) is pretty angsty. It's a step away from the norm for me, since normally I only write things with happy endings. But since this is part of a series that has a happy ending, I suppose my brain allowed me to end it off on a bittersweet (sad and angsty) note.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
This is really hard to say! I like big, happy endings, so most of my stuff gets them! Probably.... Hmmm. Either faux paus or How to Defeat a Human in 6 Easy Steps
8. Do you get hate on fics?
For the most part? No. (And I will always be grateful for the kind people that have picked me back up after I've been shot down in the past.)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
None you'll ever find under this username! I try to keep it family friendly here. ...Welllll, depending on if you count fics that tackle trauma and child murder in them family friendly.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't written any cross fandom crossovers! ...I have, however, been guilty of writing cross fic crossovers (none posted). I like to make my characters from different fics interact with each other. I've also done some crossovers for fun with my friends, making our characters interact. All still Undertale fandom, though! The craziest one is probably "How to Adopt an Interdimensional Traveler" which may be posted at some point. It's a crossover between Heart on the Table, and my How To: series. What, you're telling me Papyrus has TWO children to deal with now? (Here, have the first little bit of that because I love it. And I love Papyrus.)
Step One: Find out their name “FRISK!” Papyrus’s voice was not a shriek. No. He was perfectly composed as he stared down at the… little Frisk in front of him. The very little Frisk. There was a familiar thumping behind him as… his Frisk crashed down the stairs in their familiar clumsy way. For all the elegance they displayed in battle, that did not tend to follow them home. He partially whirled around to face them, keeping… mini Frisk in his sight at the same time. “What’s up, Dad?” Mini Frisk made a small noise that may have been confusion as they rapidly looked between him and their larger counterpart. “…Dad?” Oh. Hm. Yes. That was. A thing. Apparently Papyrus had two children now.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know! And I sure hope not!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! That would be cool as heck, though!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
None that are posted! But I like to write with my friends, sometimes.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Surprisingly! Not Undertale! (Though I do like Alphyne!) Zukka! (Zuko x Sokka, Avatar the Last Airbender) I've loved that ship for years, and even though I'm not really in the AtLA fandom anymore, it still has a very close place in my heart.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Hmmmm. Again, nothing posted. I don't post fics unless they have a first draft completely written to prevent that kind of thing. (Though, I do rewrite stuff, and that can cause pretty big posting delays. But if for some reason I can't find the motivation to finish my rewrites, I could always just slap my first draft up so that it's not completely unfinished before I'd abandon it completely.) Of my fics not posted, though? I've got a fic called "Ghost of You" which is a fated soulmate dusttale!papyrusXreader fic. I hope I can finish it one day, but... well. I'm not sure if I will or not.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Characterization, and internal dialogue, I think! I like to think I'm pretty good at writing a character in such a way that even if you pick just a sentence at random, you know who's head you're in. Or, perhaps my strength is hurt/comfort in general...
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
It used to be dialogue, though I'm working to get better at that! I also struggle sometimes when it comes to making sure that the pace is engaging and that we aren't just stuck in someone's internal thoughts for 5 paragraphs. Gotta break that up with some stuff actually happening!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Very cool, and a great way to show characters that speak other languages than the one you are in the PoV of!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Well... the fic itself is long gone, but! I wrote for Ouran Highschool Host Club when I was like 12.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE! HOW COULD YOU ASK ME TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY CHILDREN? MY BABIES! ...Heart on the Table has a special place in my heart though.
No pressure tags (only if you want! this is just for fun!): @lizavet @timeofjuly @humankk and anyone that wants to!
Also... Shall I dare? invoke the potential wrath of a god(ess)?
I dare. I'm curious about the answers (if the goddess does deign to answer this mortal/jk) @llamagoddessofficial (please feel free to just ignore if you want!)

That reblog regarding villain discourse & demonizing trauma survivors reminds me: your fics that throw Cinder a lifeline are actually pretty neat reads. For some reason I'm extra stuck on the one where Nora basically hooks her & Pyrrha up.
Ah, "The Girl From Mistral"! Thank you, and I'm glad you like that fic, though it's the only Cinder fic I've written, I did write her before in a worm crossover (Signal) I've since abandoned, and that was actually the fic that made me want to write something centered around Cinder. In fact a lot of the stuff I was going to write in that fic I did end up writing in The Girl From Mistral, like Goodwitch as a foil to both Cinder and Pyrrha. I like to think Glynda is kind of what Pyrrha would become if she hadn't died in V3 (and my friends know that Glynda having the voice of Tex and Pyrrha the voice of Carolina really helped inspire that choice) Tangential thoughts aside, I had seen a lot of fan works that imagine some meeting between Pyrrha and Cinder before V3, and I had noticed a lot of times people just assumed they'd hate eachother, either by retrograde interpretations or comedic silliness, but all the reasons for that are superficial, right? Yeah Pyrrha is a celebrity and a champion, and Cinder is kinda creepy as far as anyone can know, but that doesn't mean they'd hate eachother. If anything, an aspiring Huntress shouldn't judge a book by it's cover!
So I took things that I saw back then that they had in common, like being pretty lonely people. Pyrrha is dehumanized by the people around her through the idolatry, while everything about Cinder's behaviour just screamed of these walls she was putting up. Keep it mind that I started that fic before her backstory was revealed, though knowing she was inspired by Cinderella, I think we all knew she'd have a fucked up backstory).
Back then I thought it would be funny. Why not you know? What if the answer to avoiding Beacon's fall was as simple as giving this one girl some love?
Anyways I rarely get to talk about those fics so thanks for reading them and thanks for reading this little rant. Even after finishing that fic, I still love the characters, I'm still satisfied with how that fic turned out, and I kinda want to go back to writing The Girl From Atlas now, since Weiss another character I also love, for different reasons of course.

All Power (Kol Mikaelson x Female Reader)
A/N: Woo a new fic! Cause updating or finishing old WIPs is apparently not as cool. Also, this fic is a bit of a crossover from Teen Wolf, not anything like major, just some references and such.
Word Count: 1.8 k
Warnings: None that I can think of
The air was tense in the courtyard as Kol stood protectively in front of his lover, facing off against his pain-in-the-ass hybrid brother. Elijah stood between the two trying to keep them from tearing each other apart. Freya was off to the side holding herself, feeling guilty for starting this disagreement.
“You come anywhere near her Nik and I swear it will be the last thing you do.” Kol threatened.
“I don’t like liars, especially not in the house where my daughter sleeps,” Klaus growled.
“You really think I wouldn’t make sure that my girlfriend had no ill intent towards my niece? Do you think that low of me brother?”
“Enough, both of you,” Elijah spoke, turning slightly to look at his youngest brother and his lover. “Now, would you care to share what this ruckus is all about?”
“I don’t know, ask Nik.” Kol spat, rage in his eyes.
“You stand there and make me the bad guy when it is your pet human that is lying and has been her whole time with us.” Klaus proclaimed.
“And how do you know this Niklaus?” Elijah inquired.
“Because I sensed it,” Freya spoke up, moving closer to the brewing storm.
“Sensed what Freya?” Kol snapped, becoming more and more fed up with the current situation.
“Something… off,” She tried, struggling to find the words.
“You need to do better than that sister, or else this is a waste of time because you have no grounds to accuse my girlfriend of anything.”
“Enough.” The woman came out from her position behind Kol and came to stand next to him. “Please just stop, all of you.” She requested.
“Darling?” Kol gave her a questioning look and she gave a heavy sigh.
“She isn’t wrong, I’m not human,” She started, avoiding eye contact and staring at the ground. “Well, not entirely human I should say.” She then looked to Klaus, “I’m honestly surprised you didn’t sense it. I mean typically wolves have a sense for this sort of thing.” She remarked.
“Get to the point, my patients is waning fast,” Klaus warned. As he did so, Kol took a threatening step forward, only to be stopped by a hand on his arm.
“Okay, calm down. The short version is I’m a werewolf.” The woman stated plainly.
“You can’t be, you’ve never turned on a full moon,” Kol stated, looking to his girlfriend in confusion.
“That’s because I’m a different breed and I’ve learned to control it.” She then gave a bashful smile at him and said, “I also happen to have an amazing anchor that keeps me grounded.”
“That’s it,” Klaus growled and sped at the supposed werewolf and pinned her to the wall, his eyes glowing golden. “Who are you?”
She saw Kol move to intervene but she shot him a look to let her handle this. She smirked as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, opening them to reveal her eyes were glowing a vibrant purple, wolfish features taking over her face slightly. And before Klaus could make a comment or move, she dug her claws deep into his side and rake them upwards, causing him to release her in shock. She used that moment to roundhouse kick him away from her.
“Who am I? Well, I’m someone you really don’t want to piss off.” She huffed, fixing her clothes.
Kol was looking at her wide-eyed, never having seen her like that before. He watched in fascination as her face shifted back to the one he loved so much, though the claws on her hands didn’t disappear.
While Kol was focused on her, she was focused on Klaus. She knew she just poked the sleeping bear, or well in this case wolf. She acted casual, but she was ready for a full-fledged brawl. She heard him let out a chuckle, and her heart went icy cold. She knew that kind of chuckle. It was the kind that told her she’d just pissed him off and he was amused by her attempt to hurt him.
“That was a neat trick, love,” He said as he stood back up to his regular height. “But you’ll have to do a lot better than that if you want to hurt me.” He growled as his eyes flared and he started to rush towards the woman. Before he could even get close Kol threw him to the other side of the courtyard.
“I told you Nik, not a hair.” He seethed, standing protectively in front of his girlfriend, who was now minorly terrified and clutched onto the back of his jacket.
“Maybe I should just go,” She murmured to Kol.
“Nonsense, you are still welcome here,” Elijah promised.
Klaus had gotten up and was getting ready to argue when Elijah cut him off.
“Why don’t we give the lady the benefit of the doubt. As it stands, if she had wanted to harm any of us she’s had ample opportunities to do so and has not. We shall hear her out before we jump to any more conclusions.” He stated, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Everyone was slow to move, but eventually, all were gathered in the seating area.
“What do you want to know?” The woman asked, practically perched in Kol’s lap.
“First off, how is there another breed of werewolf?” Elijah asked.
“Well, there’s actually a few. I’m from the French line of werewolves, whereas your brother is of the North American breed. As far as I know, the only other breed is English wolves. But there are many different shifters out there from many cultures. Kitsune, for example, come from Japan.” She explained as best as she could.
“How is it we’ve never heard of any other wolves or shifters before?” Freya asked.
“That I am unsure of, but I’ve met loads of different shifters and other creatures. Where I come from, it’s practically a beacon for supernaturals.”
“And you can control your shifts?” Kol piped up.
“Well for the most part. The way French wolves and shifters work is that you can shift at any time, not just on the full moon. But the full moon makes us more susceptible to turning. But for older wolves, it becomes easier to control your shifts. Whereas baby wolves tend to be much more at risk of turning uncontrollably.”
She then spent the next hour or so explaining the differences between the different wolf breeds and other supernatural creatures, although she never really explained what she was. It was actually Kol that brought up the question.
“Me? Well, I’m kinda a special case. I’m a werewolf, but well, an extremely rare one. It’s why I didn’t tell you who or what I was.” She explained, clearly nervous to reveal who she was. But with one squeeze of the hand from Kol, she sighed and started speaking, “I am the twin sister of Scott McCall, the True Alpha. I am his opposite in most cases which makes us an elite team that is nearly unbeatable. So I am what is called a Compliment Alpha. Part alpha, part beta, all power. It’s why my eyes are purple. It combines the red of an alpha’s eyes and the blue of a beta’s.” She explained, once again flashing her eyes.
“Does that satisfy you Nik? Or does she have to go through her life story before you trust her?” Kol asked, seemingly done with his girlfriend being interrogated.
“I swear to you I am no threat to your family. I didn’t even know of your existence until Kol revealed who and what he was. Vampires are kinda new territory for me. This is not some evil plot to harm you or any Mikaelson. You all have become my new pack, and you don’t hurt your own pack.” She swore.
“I shall allow you to stay, but be warned little wolf, I see even the slightest hint of your inevitable betrayal and I will end you and your brother.” Klaus threatened, but instead of being scared she just gave him a smile.
“I would expect nothing less.” She teased as she stood from the couch. “But just so you know, my old pack and I are hard to kill. Trust me, many have tried, yet here I am.”
Kol stood as well and took her hand as they left for her apartment on the other end of town. He pulled her close by her shoulder and kissed her head as they walked out of the compound.
-----------
When they finally made it back to her apartment, he could see her noticeably relax.
“I have to say, darling, I’ve never seen you kick ass before but I would love to see it again,” Kol murmured as he wrapped his arms around her waist and laid kisses on her neck. She giggled and tried to push him away.
“Stooop,” She whined as she tried to wiggle out of his grip.
Kol, unfortunately, refused to let her go and held her tighter as he relished in her laughter. Moments like this were his favorite because there was just joy in the air. All troubles forgotten and burdens lifted to make room for the contentment he felt when he was with her.
The two settled down on the couch and just sat cuddled up in silence for a while. Kol was the first to break it after about half an hour.
“Would you have ever told me?” He asked, looking down at his lover who suddenly seemed very interested in the couch.
She sighed and sat up. She hated this. She knew he would eventually ask this. And she dreaded it because she didn’t have a good answer. But she knew she had to give him something.
“Honestly, I don’t know,” She started, “My identity and my secret is the reason why I ran here in the first place. The danger became too great for my brother and me to stay together. We had to separate, at least for a little while. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.” She paused as she recalled the day she had to say goodbye to her mother and brother. The physical pain she felt when she got on the plane without him. “I was scared.” she admitted, “I trust you, and I wanted to tell you so many times, but…”
“But what darling? Cm’on darling, I just want to know.”
“If my identity was found out, I would have had to leave again. Which would mean leaving you. And I couldn’t- I can’t lose you too. It would break me. Shatter me to a point that I would become volatile and dangerous to those who came across me. Because my heart’s been broken a few too many times for me to be able to come back from that.” She said quietly, not realizing that tears had begun to stream down her face.
Kol pulled her back into his arms and just held her.
“I swear to you my love, no one will keep me from you. Not even my brother.” He vowed.

this is a genuine, curious question! what's appealing 2 u about jackunzel :^] ??
Sure, I can talk about why I ship Jackunzel!!!
@gryffindorkxdraws has some posts about why she likes Jackunzel here, here, and here, so those are a pretty good rundown of reasons to supplement mine. But I’ll make a list of my own!
Why Jackunzel Owns My Entire Soul: An Essay in Disorganized Bullet Points ~I dig the sun/moon symbolism! Like Jack was chosen by the moon and Rapunzel has the powers of the sun. It’s such a nice contrast, and it also lends itself really well to star-crossed lover-type fantasy/fairy tale AUs (which I am ALWAYS a sucker for!) ~From what little we know about Jack’s preference in girls (i.e. the slight crush he seemed to have on Tooth), Rapunzel seems like EXACTLY his type--bubbly, energetic, optimistic girls with a bit of a maternal streak. I think even the RotG director confirmed Punz is the kind of girl Jack would like! ~Jack also absolutely seems like Punzel’s type--if Flynn/Eugene is anything to go by, she’s kind of into sarcastic troublemakers with a hidden soft side XD And she also seems to like guys who are good with kids, if Eugene reading “The Adventures of Flynnigan Rider” to the younger kids at the orphanage is anything to go by! ~They both seem to be naturally pretty social people who suffered a lot from being isolated for a really long time--Jack had it worse, obviously (300 years--OUCH), but it was rough on Punz as well, growing up for 18 years with no one for company but Mother Gothel and Pascal. Jack, spending all that time with no one able to see him and only the guardians (who weren’t even really his friends from much of that time) for company, would understand that pain a lot. I feel like they’d be able to connect on a really deep and intimate level about the pain they felt at being isolated for so long, and this would give them a really strong bond that I can easily see turning into something romantic. ~They’re both just such genuinely lively and fun-loving people, and I can imagine them having a ton of fun together and just genuinely really enjoying spending time together. Like imagine the snowball fights!!! The ice-skating!!! The sledding!!! Chasing each other through the forest!!! Jack grabbing onto Punz and her wrapping her hair around a tree and swinging them around Tarzan-style!!! Like literally the entire scene where Punzel leaves her tower for the first time and is goofing off and doing Silly Shit for like an hour straight??? Like man...if Jack was there, they’d have the TIME OF THEIR LIVES together. Idk I just really love couples who I think would have a lot of fun together, it’s so pure <3 ~They’re both so loving!!! Like Rapunzel goes out of her way to be supportive to an entire tavernful of terrifying “ruffians and thugs” because they have dreams, and she’s so sweet to Flynn/Eugene no matter how many times he snarks at her and tries to alienate her!!! And Jack loves loves LOVES entertaining kids, and it genuinely makes him so happy to give them snow days :3 I just feel like they’d shower each other with love, and it’s honestly no less than they both deserve!!! ~Rapunzel especially is such an affectionate person, and I can see her doing just absolutely everything in her power to make Jack feel as seen and as loved as possible after 300 years of being alone. And god, does he NEED it, too. Like no way is this boy NOT touch-starved, and with some MAJOR self-esteem issues (although he’s good at hiding them). Rapunzel would do absolutely everything in her power to build him up and make him feel wanted and validated--and since it’s in her nature to do so, it would never feel like a burden or an effort for her. And she’d love him so much that hyping him up just comes naturally! She’s just got the kind of nurturing personality that someone as affection-starved as Jack really needs, and I think she could help him feel safe, comfortable, and loved in a way a lot of people couldn’t. ~For all the fun they’d have together, I also feel like Jack needs someone to ground him a bit and provide the Brain Cell to perhaps reign in that Unchecked Chaotic Energy of his sometimes XD Rapunzel certainly has a smart and rational side--I mean, she charted STARS as a teenager!!! She figured out how to get this stranger she captured to take her into the kingdom to see the lanterns!!! Girl can be spontaneous and goofy, sure, but she’s got smarts and kind of a mature streak that I think mesh with Jack really well. He’d never feel like she was a wet blanket stifling his fun, but she’d also have a sense of when to transition away from goofing off and focus on responsibilities (princess and guardian responsibilities in this case, I suppose?) ~On the flipside, I don’t see Rapunzel as being someone annoyed or irritated by Jack’s antics. She might like...gently scold him if he takes a prank too far, but she never finds his shenanigans to be grating and tiresome the way other people might. Rather, I think she’d be endlessly entertained by him. Like in his memory reel when he’s dicking around pretending to be a deer, she’d get a kick out of that! Jack would always be trying to make her laugh and make her smile, and Punz would love that so much about him! ~They’re both searching for a deeper meaning and a deeper sense of purpose in their lives. Rapunzel entertains herself with hobbies, but doesn’t feel like her life has really “begun” and is desperate to find out if her hunch is right and the floating lights really ARE meant for her. Jack has no idea why he was chosen by the moon or what he’s meant to do, and he’s determined to find out so he can finally have a sense of purpose. Rapunzel clearly wants a sense of purpose too, since she wants to do more with her life than pass the time with hobbies. I can definitely see them bonding over this! ~They’re both just so adventurous, and love to explore! Rapunzel is curious, and loves to read and learn, and she wants more than anything else to see the world and all it has to offer. Jack loves adventuring and flying around the globe spreading winter and fun, and he could show Punz everything she ever wanted to see. A perfect match, honestly! ~Aesthetically I LOVE the similarities!!! Like they both like to go barefoot, kinda showing their free-spirited natures. And I love how they’re both naturally brunette, but had their hair turned a different color by magic. It’s a little thing, but I think it’s a really neat parallel and it helps cement me thinking they really ARE perfect for each other in every little way! Haha XD AND they both have small green companions, and as of Ralph Breaks The Internet, they’re hoodie buddies as well!!! Not that surface-level parallels like that are actually that significant BUT I just think they’re neat XD ~While I am fond of Flynnzel/Eugenzel (still my favorite canon Disney couple!), finding out their age gap is around 8 years admittedly made me a bit uncomfy and just pushed me further into loving Jackunzel as an alternative option. I still really love Eugene as a character and adore his and Punzel’s dynamic, but these days I prefer their relationship as more of a big bro/little sis type thing. Jack I think is the best match for Rapunzel romantically, and Eugene I prefer with Elsa--or poooossibly Tooth, Astrid, or Zarina, if I read a fic that sells the pairing well enough! ~On a related note, I was into Jack x Tooth the first time I watched RotG, but after discovering Jackunzel, there was no going back--I was hooked! Rewatching the movie, Tooth strikes me more as a mom figure/”fun aunt” for Jack, and I actually prefer her with Bunnymund (I am WEAK for “the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one” lmao)
Well, I think that just about covers it!!! I’ll add more reasons if I think of them! Thank you for the ask, and I’m always happy to answer more ship asks about CGI crossover pairings :3
Also @ the anon who asked for Jackunzel headcanons--fear not, I shall provide them!!! I just wanna make a complete list and accumulate all the ones from my various fics so it’s gonna take a while XD
