Was busy for Thanksgiving and then ended up getting sick 😮‍💨 still sort of sick but I finally got energy enough to draw and wanted to introduce the Guildmasters! Still need to work on Luxray a little, give her an accessory, but I think I'm mostly happy with Lucario. Hoping to add the rest of the guild members later, might do some doodles in between, we'll see.

just finished fantasy high junior year. relate to mary ann skuttle painfully as someone who had no sense of fashion a hyperfixation and a flat affect as a teenager. you can't tell me she isn't three years away from having a gender crisis

OK but have we considered the possibility that kipperlilly didn't want to come back but only did because she didn't want to leave Lucy and then Lucy didn't do the same for her
Like I dont want to pledge to this rage god but I'll do anything if it's for you but you won't do the same for me

It's almost strange seeing Fai use his magic after all this time, and I can’t even enjoy it knowing what it cost
But oh how the spell he casts here also looks like an eye as it takes them into Evil Wolverine’s Evil Branding Department HQ
Like they're all being carried by the exact piece of Syaoran that he left behind (Fai's Eye) for them to use
Tumblr media
Ohoho
Ok despite everything I do like Evil Wolverine looking completely different to normal. Evil Wolverine bleeding? Evil Wolverine almost looking scared as they show up?
WONDERFUL. Lovely sight. 10/10, only improved by Kurogane and Lava Lamp leaping into the air to attack him instantly.

Stories that Midnight Burger could absolutely cross over with, and how that would go:
Dead Boy Detectives: Either Midnight Burger's been bouncing back and forth between various places in the DBD/Sandman universe and the agency is charged with investigating it, or they just randomly appear to help them with a case that they're stuck on. Ava wants to know literally everything about how ghosts work, Leif makes the mistake of introducing Charles to all of his insane alien gadgets, Niko befriends all of the wolves in the deep freeze, Crystal gets advice from Caspar about becoming a better person, and Effie and Zebulon take one look at Edwin and decide that they have to give him some advice and kind words.
The Magnus Archives: Midnight Burger appears right outside the Institute---during which season? Who knows! All that matters is that they're there, and they are very eager to help these depressed academics navigate the horrors. Gloria takes advantage of Jon's Eye powers to ask him about all the great unsolved mysteries of the world, Caspar goes to sit in the deep freeze the second he learns about The Lonely, and Melanie and Ava immediately bond over some very heavy drinks. If Sasha's here, she and Gloria become fast friends, and literally nobody knows what to make of Effie and Zebulon. Tim and Leif unsurprisingly get along pretty quick.
Dimension 20: A Starstruck Odyssey: Midnight Burger appears inside The Wurst, and pretty much everyone goes "yep, this might as well happen." Leif is very eager to meet every single one of the corrupt organizations out there, and he and Skip are almost immediately fighting for custody over Gunnie. Sundry Sydney and Gloria become BFFs on sight, and Margaret spends the entire time subtly flirting with Ava. Also, Effie and Zebulon are a hit with Gnosis.
Leverage: Midnight Burger pops in and winds up accidentally interfering with a job, and they've gotta scramble to help out the Leverage crew before it completely falls apart. Hardison---and Breanna, if we're going by the Redemption crew---geek the fuck out over all of Leif's weird shit, Parker and Ava quickly realize that they match each other's freak, and Eliot and Leif end up trading weird stories while Caspar slams his head on one of the tables in the background. Gloria uses her "I started a revolution" skills to the extreme.
Hatchetfield: Midnight Burger shows up, fixes the timeline, and leaves. The Lords in Black are befuddled and incredibly pissed. Also, Miss Holloway and Duke wind up sticking around.

Finalized the design for Riolu, and while working on this I got a fun idea I want to sketch that will have to wait until tomorrow. But after that I'll work on more of the characters, once I decide on who next :3
Riolu apprentices at the guild, training to one day take over as guildmaster. He was abandoned as an egg and raised by Lucario and Luxray, the current guildmasters. He constantly wants to prove himself to Lucario and seeks her approval. Normally quiet and stoic, he's put up a wall to avoid getting close to most Pokemon, as a lot of them are prejudiced against cross breeds like himself. However a certain odd-colored Vulpix has managed to easily slip past this wall, and he is quickly smitten with her

#dimension 20#fantasy high#fhjy spoilers#listen i was oisin to be good & real & nice SO BAD. HOT RIPPED TATTED DRAGONBORN WIZARD ??? PLEASE#but. im also a suspicious-ass bitch lmao#also wait ik they spelled his name without the accent on his character art#but doesnt the name oisin have an accent over one of the i's?? idk jack abt shit so i could be wrong ofc#in any case. i like the concepts behhind the ratfuckers as a party (*except buddy. seeing him made me feel fucking ILL lmao.) but#i neeeeeeed them to get fucking TROUNCED by the bad kids. i NEED it. theyd be so much more tolerable if they got briefly asswhooped#like i think after that they could TOTALLY be friends and work together. before that?? FUCK no lmfao#anyway. i love-hate fishykitty whatserbucket and i need to see her lose#i cant wait for the ratgrinders to meet the unstoppable force that is the bad kids bigass hearts#deciding to team up with local shitheads & therefore turning them into op allies by sheer force of will and love#its happened to ragh its happened to aelwyn it kiiinda happened with kalina (jury's still out but my fingers are crossed!!)#spring break i believe in them!!!#bee speaks#its happening yall. i try to keep my incomprehensible blorboposting to a dull roar but now that im fully caught up on d20 i fear i may start#going full pepe silvia trying to figure this out#i cant binge it all in one go and have it rot thru my brain like slow-eating acid to leak thru in a contained matter#waiting for a new episode every week means i have time to THINK

July 1988. An art book for a show that never quite came to be, ROBOTECH ART 3 is also the official account of how the planned sequel to ROBOTECH fell apart. if you've heard of ROBOTECH, you're almost certainly aware that it was an amalgamation of three similar but unrelated Tatsunoko anime series, tied together with a new storyline by American producer Carl Macek as a multigenerational saga with enough episodes for American TV syndication. The dilemma this presented (other than for aggrieved weebs insisting that the new storyline was a bastardization of the presumptively superior original series) was that characters from the different generations couldn't really interact, and some important plot elements could only be presented through exposition. ROBOTECH II: THE SENTINELS was to be a 65-episode original series that would chronicle how the survivors of the first generation (adapted from the popular SUPER DIMENSION FORTRESS MACROSS) set out to make peace with the Robotech Masters of Tirol (the villains of the second generation, adapted from SUPER DIMENSION CAVALRY SOUTHERN CROSS) and ended up embroiled in a war with the Invid, the villains of the third generation (adapted from GENESIS CLIMBER MOSPEADA), who eventually conquered the Earth. This was to lead up to the finale of the original series, which would be the starting point for a subsequent series.
For various reasons chronicled at length in the book, the project collapsed after only a handful of episodes were completed. (The surviving footage was later released on home video.) Macek's story outlines were then adapted in several similar but distinct ways in a series of prose novels by "Jack McKinney" (a pseudonym for the writing team of Brian Daley and James Luceno), in the Palladium roleplaying game, and later in American comic books by John and Jason Waltrip. There was also a fanon take that mostly rejected all of the other versions as incompatible with the actual scripts and footage of the original show, which eventually led Harmony Gold, the American production company, to retroactively declare the entire project apocryphal. Harmony Gold then hired the Waltrip brothers to create a five-issue comic book prelude to its truly dire 2007 direct-to-video animated sequel, ROBOTECH: THE SHADOW CHRONICLES, which is heavily reliant on the events of the SENTINELS storyline without being entirely compatible with any previous version of it, and is frustratingly unsatisfying to anyone who actually liked any of them. (Nobody won, in other words.)
THE SENTINELS is often derided for no particularly good reason. The basic storyline has its clunky aspects (in addition to the continuity issues the RRG contingent identified), but so do the original Japanese shows, and the Japanese MACROSS franchise has subsequently gone a lot of weird places that tend to undercut the claim that ROBOTECH is categorically inferior. Both have their flaws, but ROBOTECH and THE SENTINELS are hardly without merit. (The dismal SHADOW CHRONICLES is another matter …)
