i find it frustrating when people conflate criticism of drag and its culture with intolerance for gender nonconformity. men putting on exaggerated facsimiles of women's bodies and acting out the most offensive and regressive stereotypes about us for entertainment is very different to a guy who just likes wearing skirts or women who shop in the mens section

i was a very nerdy teen and went to a lot of conventions, where crossplay (dressing up as a character of the opposite sex) was common, so i know men can dress up as women and perform in character without being offensive. i also have no issue at all with guys who want to dress up as barbara streissand or whoever and sing and dance, it's the caricaturing of women's bodies and minds that offends me and other feminists

the hatred of women is a feature of drag culture that can and should stop

One of my fave Skwistok headcanons is that Toki likes dressing Skwisgaar up. Like his own Barbie of sorts, because he thinks Skwisgaar looks good in everything. Skwisgaar complies even though it’s a pain cause ultimately it’s an ego stroke to have someone constantly fawning over his looks. Eventually, it gets to the point where Toki brings a dress or skirt to Skwisgaar and he freaks out because, What da fucks?! Ams not a goil, Toke. (I’m 100% convinced Skwisgaar has gender dysphoria)

Toki is earnestly confused cause he really doesn’t see what the problem is. Just cause he wears x or y it’s not like he’ll stop seeing Skwisgaar like a man or loving him as such. Just because he loves getting Skwisgaar prettied up it’s not like he’s trying to make him ‘the woman’ of the relationship or anything.

Reluctantly, Skwisgaar starts exploring with the clothes Toki gives him. Toki’s reactions are encouraging so he grows more and more confident. He loves making Toki swoon, it makes him feel so powerful. And he also realizes that just because he’s wearing a panty hose or trying on a corset, it doesn’t make him any less of who he is. He can wear whatever he wants and still be a guy, and still be Skwisgaar.

And it’s so freeing.

dgaf about egg jokes they're harmless and at worst mildly stereotypical do your thing im sure ive made one before. however. i do feel like the whole discourse was kicked off by that "egg behavior to wear women's deodorant as a man" tweet and we all collectively need to agree that that tweet was dumb & stupid and women's deodorant is objectively superior to men's. actually men's hygiene products in general just suck more except razors. apparently its manly to smell like shit and have dry skin. if i had my druthers id force every cis man to use dove deodorant. id mean id still do it if it made them transgender but i see it as more of a public service in terms of smell than in that regard.
