Ok I lied, I'm posting today lol. I think I'll post a section at a time, since there's enough here that each verse is pretty much a seperate piece.

Real happy with how this came out, I wanted to communicate a sort of medieval tapestry look and experimented a lot through this pmv! I chose a limited palette for the backgrounds of each verse, but I really enjoyed the contrast of the brighter characters too.

There was virtually no research done on wether the clothing/weapons/armour fit the setting/vaugely defined time period, but I'm fine with that lmao, I think it still communicates what I wanted it to.

Whitethroat x Littlecloud

Love the thought of them as two child soldiers under Brokenstar growing close as Shadowclan rebuilds and starts to fall again due to the sickness.

A simple but tender love as they run to get help and stay with each other. I can only wonder what went through Littlecloud’s head when he finds Whitethroat dead.

Bluestar x Crookedstar

My tragic darlings. I will be a crookedblue truther til I die.

I just like how they went together so well and seeing there perspectives from their super editions really sold me on them. They just vibed to me in a way that trumps over anything I could think about with Blueoak.

There’s definitely something tragic when Leopardstar takes power and how Bluestar would feel knowing that her love is gone.

Plus the angst of Bluestar naming Brightpaw Lostface and Crookedstar watching. Just imagine that conversation.

Leafpool x Mothwing

I really adore how much they cared about each other and that scene when Mothwing says she doesn't believe the stars but she believes in Leafpool makes me melt.

Haven't had time for much outside of work and (recently finished) study recently, so regurgitating up this bad boy, since I'd never shared the full image of the third verse.

I have a lot of love for this project; my only regret is not sitting on it a little longer to polish the intro/outro sections more, since they were the last parts to be completed and it shows lmao.

Would love to make more art featured in this world someday, but it's hard to find time for this stuff atm and I have so many unfinished projects and ideas, eughhhh, ah well.

thinking about how the clan leaders are the only ones who understand the specific struggle of having so many lives in your paws -of the sudden isolation of being exalted, of the burden of the name -star, the gazes of their loved ones looking up at them during famine, sickness and war, pleading “help us. what are you going to do?” - and yet their pride and clan boundaries forbid them from ever being friends

part of me is surprised they gave this scene to crooked and blue instead of to oak as to build up their relationship more, but i genuinely like crookedpaw trying to crack jokes to try and ease cats into staring at him less. the two are fun to read interacting and i one hundred percent get why people feel crookedblue would have been more interesting for canon
