why are gifts so fucking difficult oh my godd. starting to look for anniversary gifts for my partner cause weve got about two months to go, and i swear to god anytime theres a holiday where we have to give gifts i panic.
its so difficult cause in theory i know what she likes but i dont feel like we spend enough time around each other to know what style of things she likes yknow? ill send her stuff occasionally that i like and i feel like she has a really good grasp on the things i enjoy cause i have such a distinct style. for her though like i know for a fact that she doesnt dress in the way she wants to, but if she was given the chance i dont know what she would choose to wear. like what she wears now is different than what she would wear if she had the choice to redo and choose her own wardrobe (her words). so like. i always freak out when buying jewelry and stuff like that cause i dont know if its a thing that she would like or not based on how weird that situation is right now.
#for valentines she got me a little gold necklace with two small pendants that have our initials stamped on them :((( its so fucking cute l#and i wanna do something like that for her!! but not the same thing yknow?#one of my ideas was a little gold locket with us inside or maybe the eye portrait situation cause that would be cool#but do i think thats cool for me or do i think its cool for her? i have no idea#my other idea was getting a replacement ring of the rings we got a few years ago#they were small bands thay had the other persons birth flower on them (got those before we even started dating lmaoooo)#and hers doesnt fit anymore#or another idea was that i found this little crochet pattern for a small crochet cat with a knitted sweater#and i was thinkin i could make crochet cat versions of her and i with little sweaters to match!! so that would be really cute i think#or like. if i started now i could crochet a blanket cause she really loves cozy things but like#our anniversary is in june and also shes really picky with textures so i might not do that even though i wanna#do you see my problem here#its a clusterfuck honestly#thats why im starting the search so early#my last idea was to make her a custom crosstitch pattern of her favorite ancient art (its a goat tattoo)#to put it simply she really loves history and i think she would enjoy that#anyway. i am freaking the fuck out ❤️

Birthday Celebrations (Frank Castle x Reader) Headcanons
MASTERLIST // JOIN MY TAGLIST
A/N: Happy (belated) Birthday to @wanda2themax, who requested birthday headcanons with Frank!
(Warnings: references to smutty behavior (my fav kind from frank), frank being a total simp for reader and loving every minute of it)
Frank’s been around the block a time or two, so when it’s his sweetheart’s birthday, he’s already been preparing for at least a month prior.
He’ll wake you up with sweet, soft kisses down your spine, whispering how much he loves you inbetween kisses.
A soft “Happy Birthday, sweetheart” while nuzzling against your ear (esp. if your love language is touch)
Even if you insist you don’t want any fuss over your birthday, he does it anyways because you deserve to have people fussing over you.
If you’re a breakfast person, he’ll tell you to stay put in bed while he prepares your favorite breakfast foods. If you’re just a ‘coffee in the morning’ type of person, he’ll make sure it’s made perfectly and brought to you in bed.
He’d definitely go down on you as soon as you’re awake and call it present number one.
The way this man would do anything and everything to make you feel special (which isn’t unlike every other day of the year, just a little extra on your birthday).
When you finally make it out of the bedroom, he’ll have a giant bouquet of your favorite flowers waiting for you on the counter, plus a handwritten card because he knows you like “that sentimental shit”. (He secretly adores the sentimental stuff too.)
He gives you a present (one of many) and you almost cry when you realize it’s a gold chain/necklace with a little ‘F’ pendant. As a subtle joke, there would be a tiny skull pendant on the chain too. You love it and him and get carried away on the kitchen table for fifteen minutes.
If you’re a museum/art lover, he’ll take you to any and all of the ones open nearby. Even if he can’t find it in himself to understand the art world, he’ll happily allow you to drag him from painting to painting for as long as you’d like.
Maybe a cute lunch date in Central Park if you’re into that sort of thing. Obviously if you even think about paying for anything, Frank scolds you for it.
“Let me take care of everything today, baby. Don’t you worry your pretty little head about a thing.”
If you’re a book lover, maybe he’ll walk with you around the city, stepping in and out of bookstores until neither of you can see straight.
He’ll lose his mind when he sees the outfit you’re wearing out to dinner because you’re so pretty and you’re all his and he can’t believe it.
He’ll gift you something that has to do with your hobbies (so like a crocheter might get some really nice/expensive yarn, a book collector might get a first edition they’ve been searching for, a writer might get a beautiful hand-crafted notebook). He’s a thoughtful man and it shines through in the gifts that he gives you.
“I know you’ve been really wanting this for a while now, so I got it for you. Don’t look at me like that! I’ll spend my money however I like, and I like to spend it on you.”
After dinner, he’ll take you to the pier where you met him, and he’ll buy you a little birthday cupcake. He has a candle and lighter ready to go (this man comes prepared), and he’ll whistle the ‘Happy Birthday’ song as he gets the candle ready.
The way I’m willing to BET that this man would still have stuff planned.
Like imagine if he paid some street performers (like violinists/guitarists/etc.) to play your favorite songs while you danced with him in a private little area on the pier.
When you make it home, he has yet another present for you, and it involves a weekend trip out of the city with him because he wants to extend your birthday for as long as possible.
He’s extra generous in bed that night, offering himself to you fully.
“However you want me, baby. Just say the word.”
When you finally drift off after possibly the best birthday of your life, Frank presses dozens of kisses to your shoulders, neck, back, and face, each one a reminder that he loves you and would do anything to make you smile.

Headcanons: Clothing Edition
Prefers the seasons of fall and winter because clothing made of wool is more readily available- As is wool yarn. As an avid knitter and crocheter, an ample supply of wool yarn means more fun accessories she can whip up for herself and others. She likes wool for its soft texture and warmth.
Likes to wear oxford shoes with a bit of platform the most. That being said, work calls for chunky rubber garden boots.
Ideal outfit is a flowy skirt and a sweater. Skirts in her closet vary from ankle length to mid-thigh length. Ruffled ankle socks or sheer tights.
..The above being said, work usually calls for thick cotton coveralls with lots of pockets. But!! She has fun colors, including a forest green, maroon, navy blue, lavender. A few that have a floral pattern. Also cute sun hats!!
Doesn't accessorize much with jewelry-- A delicate watch, a simple moon pendant necklace. She prefers to accessorize with purses that she's crocheted or a scarf she's knitted.
Nails always done tho.

What do you think Abi and Emma’s ideal Valentine’s Day for each other?
Okay, my BlygBank Valentines Day headcanon
First of all, I think Emma would be the one to plan the day out for Abi bc Abi is a lot more into like. Romance stuff than her. I see Abi as someone who sleeps until noon whenever possible so the day wouldn't actually get started until like 1pm. They'd go to a café for. Brunch? Whatever you would call it. One of those art cafés with a bunch of cool decorations. Afterward they go somewhere scenic to talk and exchange gifts. I'm thinking next to a little waterfall. They'd both give each other handmade cards. Additionally, Abi would give Emma a plush fox she crocheted, and Emma would give Abi a box of way too expensive chocolates (I think she'd like the kind with strawberry cream filling that I personally find revolting) and a silver necklace with a moon and star pendant (bc I love moon and star motifs for them). They'd go home after to have dinner, then cuddle and watch (/make fun of) trashy romcoms together until they fell asleep.
Got entirely too specific with this, hope you like it :)

This piece began with a literal dream - I had a dream that I was crocheting a Medusa plushie.
Of course, since I am currently not crocheting, I was unable to make the dream a reality. I did try to figure it out though...😂
Fast forward a month or so, I came across this amazing Medusa pendant and I had that bolt of lightning sensation hit me. I knew then, that I needed to make a chainmail piece with the pendant as the centerpiece.
This is the result! The weave is offset Byzantine using 2 sizes of 18 gauge rings. There are over 500 rings in this necklace so it was a true labor of love!
The camera just does not capture how dynamic this piece is in person. It is a statement piece for sure.

Effortless Spring Style: Calm Blues
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cf13195e3ce25ca279f9adc6ca6056b1/861dbb28ad2be194-97/s540x810/fc9d1769904e432596a088da6e07b33ffdd9a1b9.jpg)
Harvey attended the Disney Upfronts in mid-May looking cute and breezy in this aqua green crochet camp shirt from Target worn with black slacks and a pair of turquoise Dr. Martens loafers.
The loafers are sadly discontinued, though you can sometimes find them secondhand on sites like eBay or Depop. There is also a version of this style available in a much less vibrant blue available via Zappos.
The shirt is still available and comes in sizes up to U.S. men's XXL.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0de43b83de42df836098a80683360846/861dbb28ad2be194-f8/s540x810/92a9c8c40f6b92e2c65e47ab8eb8c1c565751faa.jpg)
Harvey accessorized with an elegant pearl pendant necklace, possibly the same one he wore to the Garfield movie premiere. Though it's hard to be sure in these photos, it looks very similar to this 18 karat white gold pearl pendant from Tiffany & Co.
Mixing Simplicity & Luxury
Sarah of @taylorswiftstyle (one of the major inspirations for me starting this blog in the first place) often talks about the ways in which Taylor mixes "high" and "low" fashion, pairing expensive designer items with things that are more within an average middle-class person's budget. This is one of the many ways she forges a stronger connection with her fanbase, balancing the aspirational with the accessible.
I believe Harvey does something similar, though perhaps with a slightly different motivation. He has spoken in the past about the lack of size inclusivity in fashion, and how difficult it can be to find nice clothing if you're over a certain size. Luxury and designer fashion are often even less inclusive, and these factors led to Harvey styling himself for red carpets and media events until just a couple of years ago.
He's also talked about his approach to finding pieces he likes by looking in random places, leaning on accessories such as shoes and hats, and not getting attached to only one style or store. He has said he invests in pieces he really likes when he finds them, and wears the things he loves until they fall apart.
These are familiar strategies for those of us who love fashion but don't fit the mainstream fashion world's physical ideal. I've always loved shoes, scarves, hats, and jewelry because it's much easier to go into any store that sells those things and have a reasonable expectation that something will fit me. And when I love an item, I really love it, and wear it until I can't anymore. Truth be told, most of the sewing skills I've learned have just been a desperate attempt to prolong the life of a favorite dress or pair of pants after they begin to show wear and tear.
Though Harvey now has access to stylists and at least one talented designer who's more than happy to dress him for big events (and I'm tapping my watch at the rest of them, why aren't you absolutely begging to get your clothes on this beautiful man?), it's clear he still holds to those tenets that served him well when nobody was styling or dressing him. He will still pair an affordable shirt with a luxury accessory, and look amazing doing so. Because who cares where the items came from if they look good and make you feel good wearing them?
So while I do believe Harvey aims to be a style inspiration to other plus sized people--he has said as much after all--I also believe this grew initially out of his own struggles with having a lack of such style inspirations and icons for himself. This has shaped his relationship to fashion and how he presents himself in that space. There is a dimension of representation and advocacy to his style that grew out of his own frustration with the fashion world's lack of inclusivity.
Affordable Options
While the Target shirt already falls into the realm of affordable, the rest of the outfit might be another story. So I've come up with some options for anyone interested in recreating this look on a budget!
You can find beautiful and affordable pearl pendant necklaces on Etsy. Here are just a few examples!
Genuine Akoya White Pearl Pendant from TADragon, $89.95
Sterling Silver Minimalist Pearl Necklace from MrsQCreation, $19.56 (currently on sale)
Natural Pearl Simple Necklace from BeadHouseCo, $23
These black athletic dress pants from Old Navy are currently on sale for $25. If you're more comfortable with fitting women's pants, these high-waisted OGC chinos also from Old Navy are a great option and on sale for $24.
The turquoise loafers were a bit harder, but these $60 Minnetonka slip-ons from Shoe Station are a decent option if you can't find the Dr. Martens on eBay for a reasonable price.

Downton Abbey Fashion 60 - indoors fashion in 1924
I’ll very quickly go over Miss Bunting’s blouses so I can put her in a drawer and never again think about how poorly written her character was. And then it’s thankfully over to Rose who has some interesting fashion developments this season.
This dark blue wrap dress is actually quite nice. One of the upsides of middle-class characters, for how lousy Fellowes writes them, is that I occasionally see things that I can imagine wearing myself. Diagonal pin tucks over the sides give this a little more shape than is common in the 1920s; overall a pretty look.
Shaping goes right out the window with this one, but I suppose it’s a respectable look for a teacher. Point collar, very pale blue, very simple jewelry – it does hold a bit of my interest with the double row of buttons.
Look, the gathering seam in the shoulder is back! As are pointed collars and keyhole necklines, but I think that the checker weave of this fabric is nice. I don’t think Miss Bunting should wear such a showy shade of lipstick to a pale peach blouse though.
--------------
Rose, my darling. This is a pretty crochet shirt that seems to emulate a blue sky with white clouds, and I love the flaring sleeves. So why on earth did someone tack this stupid strip of white fuzz to it? I know you have better taste than this. Just take that bit off, and you’re good.
Speaking of nice crocheted clothes, this one has pretty much the same shape, but it fortunately goes without dissonant cotton fuzz. The peach color is a Rose staple by now, and the crochet is a bit simpler in terms of pattern and structure, so this doesn’t look cluttered when Rose pairs it with that nice light brown Tartan skirt.
Developing a taste for non-woven textiles, isn’t she? I like this sweater in all its simplicity; the square neckline is elegant, the blue stripes on the shoulders add a little interest, and the silverish yarn is a pretty color and a good backdrop for playful necklaces.
Marching up in the palest blue silk satin, Rose gives us this look. And I’m in love with the print on this dress. Good job of the designer to not add anything more to this than the tiniest dark blue piping around the neckline because this print deserves to stand on its own.
This may be one of the dresses of the show that reads the most stereotypically 1920s to the modern eye. Not only is it absolutely covered in bronze-golden sequins that give it a sort of scaly look; it’s got fringe. It’s still got the right length and cut, which is a relief. Can you imagine how out of place one of those tight mini “flapper” dresses that you can buy for cheap on amazon would have looked? Not all clichés are bad though: I love the fringe. And I love the little spiral flower motif in this wild sequin pattern.
Rose dips her toes into some dark blue silk satin this season, and this is my favorite result of them, even though the neckline construction leaves me hopelessly confounded. What does even connect where? Is that a symmetrical keyhole neckline and then over that an asymmetrical tie, shutting a looser layer over a fitted top? I don’t understand this dress, but I like to look at it. The tiny white star flowers on dark ground are so charming!
Time for some pale pink because Rose has a rosy reputation to maintain. This sweater, another knit piece, has your usual loose shape and drop waist, but the tie collar is quite nice. It’s framing a literal rose pendant because subtlety, you guys, and Rose rounds off the outfit with a repeat of her light brown Tartan skirt.
The tie collar stays, the pink has to go so we can wave dark blue silk satin back in. If I interpret this print right, it’s referencing cherry blossoms and elements of Japanese architecture. The design is far less intricate than the last blue satin Rose welcomed into her wardrobe, but it dresses her quite nicely.
Heh, even when it’s not roses, Rose is a girl for flower prints. I do quite like her poppy flower chiffon dress, but it looks a tad lightweight for working in drafty basement rooms during an English autumn, as Rose seems to do during her charity project for Russian refugees; at least the neckline and sleeves don’t seem to betray a warmer layer underneath.
Yet more flowers! Tulips this time, and while I do love tulips with a passion, I’m not sure I love this dress. It’s admittedly adorable. I think it’s a touch too adorable. I would not have batted an eye to see this on season 3 Rose with her frilly skirts, but by now she’s a good end more mature – and engaged to be married. I don’t know; this lace collar with the little light blue bow reads a little too girly for her now.
Did Rose steal a dress from Edith’s wardrobe? Indigo chiffon with a notable orange print? Even the pattern stripe on her collar looks a lot like the sort of prints Edith prefers this season. But nah, she stole this from 1997’s Rebecca. Oh well, it’s not like Rose hasn’t proven already that she can carry off dark blue shades, and the autumn leaves motif is pretty sweet.
The lace layer makes this one look a lot browner than it is; the basic fabric is one of her usual peachy pinks… oh, for heaven’s sake, is that another rose motif? They really can’t come up with anything new, can they? As usual, the drop waistband just being there for the heck of it instead of making a sack of the top is a grace for the dress. Looks quite pretty overall.
Here we have a dress that we first see Rose wear a day or two before her wedding, but that I find more interesting in the context of her wearing it as a newlywed while her parents-in-law are hosting. Because Lady Sinderby, her mother-in-law, is almost constantly running around in light chiffon dresses with very rich flower prints. Not that flower prints are a new thing for Rose, but specifically the way these pastel colors wash up into each other looks much like the dress Lady Sinderby is wearing for the same occasion, so I find that concordance interesting. Granted, Lady Sinderby doesn’t have this adorable flower-embroidered headband.
Ending on another dress Rose wears in her new life as Mrs Aldridge, this one is a favorite. Off-white and very lacey again, but it’s using the lace so much more elegantly than the girlish dress further up does; strips of it being inserted into the length of the dress and the drop waist, framing the square neckline, and giving the dress a wonderfully weightless, frothy look. And a bit of well-placed flower embroidery? Sign me up!
