why are gifts so fucking difficult oh my godd. starting to look for anniversary gifts for my partner cause weve got about two months to go, and i swear to god anytime theres a holiday where we have to give gifts i panic.
its so difficult cause in theory i know what she likes but i dont feel like we spend enough time around each other to know what style of things she likes yknow? ill send her stuff occasionally that i like and i feel like she has a really good grasp on the things i enjoy cause i have such a distinct style. for her though like i know for a fact that she doesnt dress in the way she wants to, but if she was given the chance i dont know what she would choose to wear. like what she wears now is different than what she would wear if she had the choice to redo and choose her own wardrobe (her words). so like. i always freak out when buying jewelry and stuff like that cause i dont know if its a thing that she would like or not based on how weird that situation is right now.

From Liyue With Love
Pairing: Beidou x Ningguang
Tags: Birthday, Valentine's Day, Birthday Sex, Presents, Scissoring, Oral Sex, Vaginal Fingering
Summary:
Beidou has always been more partial to Valentine's Day than the other event that happens to fall on the same date. Ningguang wants to change that. In the end, they discover they've both got the best gifts either of them could hope for.
Read on Ao3
The chain of the gold necklace shimmered as Beidou held it up to the light of the mid-day Liyue sun. She’d stopped at Mingxing Jewelry to pick up the Valentine’s Day gift she had special ordered for the Tianquan who held her heart. Over the years she had imported many ores and gems one could only find from the furthest reaches of Sumeru to the deepest seas of Fontaine just for Xingxi’s store.
“Is it to your liking, captain? I admit, I took a few liberties with the instructions you left me,” Xingxi stated hesitantly.
Beidou ran her thumb across the small heart-shaped pendant, the cold stones chilling her skin. The two halves glistened in their respective signature colors - amethyst for her electro, citrine for Ningguang’s geo.
“It’s perfect,” she whispered. “Thanks, Xingxi! Knew I could count on you.”
The shopkeeper smiled gently. “I’m so happy to hear it.”
Beidou plopped a sizable sack of mora on the counter but was taken aback when Xingxi pushed it toward her.
“Captain, I appreciate that you think so highly of my handiwork, but I fear this is far too much. Half of that is more than enough. Consider it a birthday discount,” she replied with a wink.
She blinked, unsure of how to respond. If she didn’t have Ningguang in her life, today would be like any other. Commemorating Valentine’s Day was fun for many reasons. Beidou relished any chance she could get to show the Tianquan what she meant to her. The other yearly occurrence that happened to be on the same day…she had never seen a reason to celebrate.
Beidou swallowed back the dark emotions that threatened to burst forth. “Gee… thanks, Xingxi. Wait a second…how did you know it was my-“
The shopkeeper let out a chuckle. “Captain…how could I not? It’s all Lady Ningguang has been talking about for days.”
With a blush spreading across her face, Beidou nodded her head in gratitude and started the lengthy trek to the Jade Chamber.
“Captain Beidou! It’s so nice to see you here,” Baishi said suspiciously loud. She had greeted her right before the doors to Ningguang’s office, which Beidou found unusual.
“Uh, yeah, you too, Baishi. Is the Tianquan in?”
The secretary looked nervously over her shoulder. “Um…she’s a little-“ A loud crash came from the other side of the door, and Beidou looked ready to rush in.
“Ning? Are you okay in there?”
A swirl of platinum blonde hair appeared in the doorway. “Yes, captain, everything is quite alright. If you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some…business to wrap up. It’ll only be a few minutes.”
Beidou cocked an eyebrow. “You sure you’re good?”
Ningguang stared daggers at her. “Do you mean to insinuate I don’t know what I’m doing, captain?”
She held up her hands in defense. “Not at all. Continue,” she said with a smug smirk.
After passing the time chatting with Baishi, Beidou was relieved to hear Ningguang’s voice echo through the double doors once more.
“You may enter now. Baishi, please let Baiwen and Baixiao know you are all free to go home for the evening.” After a quick “goodnight,” the woman left to find her coworkers.
Beidou swiftly entered the room and was caught completely off guard by the sight before her. Ningguang had donned a dark blue strapless dress that sparkled like moonlight on the ocean’s surface.
A quiet “wow” was the most she could manage. Her attention was quickly directed to the table behind her, however. It had been set for dinner, complete with a tall glass of Beidou’s favorite lager imported from Inazuma. The scent of flash-fried filet, her favorite dish, wafted through the room, making her stomach growl.
“Baobei…did you…did you cook all this?”
Ningguang glided over to her side. “I may have asked Chef Mao’s girl to walk me through some things, but yes,” she answered as she took Beidou’s hand in hers. “Happy birthday, my love.”
Beidou felt the room spin around her. The weight of such careful planning hit her in full force.
“What’s wrong? Is it not to your liking?”
She hadn’t realized tears had started to drip down her cheeks.
“No! Archons…no. I love it. It’s just…I’m not used to this. I’ve always associated my birthday with wishing I hadn’t been born.”
Ningguang’s grip on her hand tightened. “How could you say that, Beidou?”
The captain wiped her face with the back of her hand. “I mean…Valentine’s Day is much more important, don’t ya think? I’d rather celebrate love than a curse like me.”
A look of intense sorrow came over Ningguang. She leaned her forehead on Beidou’s, forcing her to make eye contact. “You are not a curse, dear heart. Those villagers were ignoramuses who believed in mumbo-jumbo bullshit. Please. Let’s celebrate you tonight, hmm? I can think of no one more deserving,” she said as she took her by the hand and led her to the table.
“Well, one thing’s for sure. I’m not about to let this go to waste. Thank you so much, baobei.”
Ningguang smiled at the return of her signature sense of humor. The women sat down and thoroughly enjoyed every last bite as they chatted about their respective weeks.
“Whew. I couldn’t eat another bite! My compliments to the chef. You sure you don’t want to join my crew and cook for all of us?”
Slightly buzzed on her own glass or three of wine, Ningguang let out a hearty laugh. “Oh please. It was one dish! But I’m glad you enjoyed it.”
Chugging the rest of her beer, Beidou let out a satisfied sigh. “Shame there’s no dessert, though. Could really go for something sweet after this.” She shifted her hooded gaze to lock eyes with the Tianquan. Ningguang had been with her long enough to recognize this was a different kind of hunger.
“Who said I didn’t have something prepared for your sweet tooth?” She replied seductively as she got up to get closer to her. “Did you honestly think this was all I got you?” Ningguang hiked her dress up as she positioned herself to straddle her lover’s lap. Beidou’s eyes drifted to the garter straps peeking out from under the fabric and had to control herself from ripping them off with her teeth.
“You mean there’s a feast after the feast?” She asked, lips already wandering across her chest and up her neck.
“Hmmm…it’s prepared. You just have to devour it,” Ningguang half-moaned.
“Then don’t mind if I do,” Beidou said as she grabbed the back of her thighs and lifted her effortlessly. Their mouths locked as the Tianquan wrapped her arms around her neck for support. The captain knew the way to the private sleeping quarters of Ningguang’s office like the back of her hand and carefully navigated around the stacks of scrolls that always seemed to inevitably accumulate.
Once she made it to the bed, she set her down and crawled on top of her, continuing to show her gratitude by attending to every inch of her body. Her dress was far too beautiful to remove, so she worked around whatever skin was left uncovered.
She was delectable in so many ways, and Beidou couldn’t help but repay her kindness in the only way she knew would come close. As she situated herself between her thighs, she shifted the fabric of her dress up to her hips to provide her with enough access.
Ningguang could only let out contented sighs and groans as the captain took her time savoring and teasing her. Beidou kissed her inner thigh, causing her to spread herself wider in anticipation. Whether this was a gift for Beidou or Ningguang, neither of them cared. They were lost in each other. Finally, the captain moved the crotch of the Tianquan’s panties to the side and tasted the unique but familiar flavor of her arousal.
“Archons…Beidou, your tongue feels so good…”
“Louder for me, baby. Let me hear how good I make you feel,” she commanded before swiveling it inside of her. The buck of Ningguang’s hips drove her deeper and caused her to moan. She held them down as she continued the practiced movements she knew would make her come undone. Desperate for connection, the Tianquan covered Beidou’s hands with her own.
“Fuck…Beidou…yessssss…” Between the captain’s muffled grunts and her own mewls of pleasure, Ningguang came with a shudder.
Beidou plopped onto her side next to where Ningguang lay on the bed dizzy on alcohol and her orgasm. The Tianquan rolled to face her and softly stroked the captain’s face with her well-manicured fingers.
“Well, that was just lovely. But I do believe I need to exchange a gift of my own. For without you being born today, I would not have a love worth celebrating. The archons gave me my heart on the most romantic day of the year.” Ningguang leaned in and kissed her with a passion unmatched.
The Tianquan tasted the salty tang of Beidou’s tears. To this day the captain still wasn’t used to this poetic tenderness. Sure, she and Ningguang had been together for a while, but she wasn’t usually this romantic. Beidou placed her hands on her waist and pulled her closer.
Their tongues clashed as hands roamed, divesting one another of any remaining clothing until their body heat was the only thing keeping them warm. Ningguang grabbed Beidou’s leg and placed it on her hip as she moved her hand between the two of them to her drenched core.
“What you lack in words your body certainly makes up for,” she teased as she ran her thumb across Beidou’s clit. The captain jolted in response to the stimulation.
“Ning…” She quietly breathed into her ear sending goosebumps down the Tianquan’s spine.
Collecting her arousal, she easily inserted two fingers into her. Moving them in and out, she slowly stroked her thumb across her sensitive bud in time with her movements. She continued her ministrations as she kissed down Beidou’s neck and across her chest. The captain’s flushed face and high-pitched moaning of her name alerted her she was close. Ningguang sped up her thrusts and crashed her mouth against her lover’s as she spasmed around her.
The two women held each other tightly reveling in the happiness and love they shared.
“Oh! Before I forget…” Beidou quickly hopped off the bed to fish around in the pocket of the bag she had brought with her. Producing a small wooden box, she placed it in Ningguang’s outstretched hand. “Happy Valentine’s Day, baobei. A treasure for my treasure.”
Ningguang rolled her eyes endearingly at the terrible pun. Turning her gaze back toward what she now held in her palm, she pried it open and gasped when she saw the contents.
“B-Beidou…this…this is gorgeous!” She gasped. Instinctively she turned around and pulled her hair back so the captain could do the honors. The necklace was surprisingly light considering the weight of the emotion it held. “I love it and will cherish it forever,” she exclaimed as she took her face in her hands. “Just like you.”
Beidou beamed at her girlfriend’s excitement. “I’m glad. I only brought Xingxi the materials. She was the one who worked her magic.”
Ningguang whipped around to her side table and immediately pulled out her own gift. Beidou couldn’t help but giggle at the ornate packaging that was so very…Ningguang.
“Now, you’ll have to let me know if this isn’t to your tastes. It’s nowhere near as ornate as what you’ve gifted me, but I hope you’ll still enjoy it,” she warned as Beidou began to carefully pull the paper away. Soon, it was revealed to be a beautiful photo album. Pictures of memorable moments decorated each page.
Beidou standing by the Alcor, newly purchased with help from Ningguang. Their first lantern rite together. The time Beidou took Ningguang on a trip to Inazuma to meet the sly fox of a light novel publisher she knew she’d want to do business with. A snapshot of the both of them deep in thought pondering over a chessboard. The rest of the photos started to blur through eyes glistening once again with unshed tears.
“I had that lovely little photographer from The Steambird help me restore some of the old photographs I had lying around. I figured it might help if you had something to look at when you were away on longer voyages.”
“Ning…I don’t have words. This is…this is incredible. And perfect. Just like you.”
The Tianquan smiled mischievously. “And…you haven’t gotten to the end yet. Go ahead and turn a few more pages,” she teased. Beidou did as she was told and was greeted by insanely risqué shots of Ningguang in barely-there lingerie…as well as some with her in nothing at all. She snapped the album shut quickly, her face turning red.
“Holy shit. I’m going to need to go another round after that.”
Beidou crawled on her hands and knees toward Ningguang, grabbing her hips and pulling her closer. She wrapped her legs around Beidou’s waist, their mouths clashing once again.
Their cores aligned, they were both reduced to a moaning mess as their bodies shook with need for one another.
“Baobei,” Beidou groaned between kisses, “You’re the…best gift…I could ever hope to…receive.”
The Tianquan wrapped her arms around her, yanking her closer for added pressure. Beidou moved her hips in time with Ningguang’s, their now over-stimulated buds sliding against one another ferociously.
The sound of ragged breathing, sighs of pleasure, and the gentle rattle of a necklace chain swirled in a symphony throughout the room. The captain slid a hand between them, adding additional sensation to Ningguang’s clit.
“Come with me, love,” Beidou whispered as she held her tightly. The two women once again found release, their movements slowing as their orgasms came to a dull throb.
Ningguang clasped the pendant she now wore around her neck. “Beidou, you’ll have to tell me - what does it feel like to be the richest woman in Teyvat?”
Beidou propped herself up on her elbow as she cocked a curious eyebrow at the woman she loved. “Why, Lady Tianquan…whatever do you mean?”
“Mora is easy to come by. But you own something truly priceless - my heart.”
“Now that,” Beidou said as she placed a kiss on her forehead, “is the best birthday gift I will ever receive.”

extra drabble #2: love is in the air and it’s rubbing it in right on pediatricsurgeon!jungkook’s face as he’s reminded that he’s awfully single once again. that doesn’t mean he can’t gift a special someone something, right?
or in which, jungkook thinks you’d look nice with tiffany & co. jewelry around your neck. (hospitalplaylist!au)
📍drabbles masterlist
Tumblr media
‘‘What do you think she’ll like?’’ Taehyung asks Jungkook as they peruse through the Tiffany & Co. counters filled with expensive jewelry.
The youngest shrugs his shoulders, ‘‘Shouldn’t you know? You’re the boyfriend,’’ he comments, but it only garners him a displeased side-eye from his friend.
‘‘Why do I even bother asking for your help? You haven’t had a girlfriend in over a decade.’’ Taehyung mumbles, shaking his head as he keeps analyzing the sparkly bracelets. ‘‘So until you have one, don’t even try to use the I’m the boyfriend and I should know argument…women are far more complicated than that.’’
One of the pediatrician’s eyebrow raises, curious about the neurosurgeon’s words.
Jungkook blames Med School for his lack of ‘‘women knowledge’’. His dating life was basically nonexistent all throughout the years he was studying to get his degree and although he did try his best to go on a couple of dates after he got his specialization, he had realized that he was absolutely clueless about how to even date.
If he could grade his dating skills, Jungkook would give himself a less than average score.
He has to give credits to his friend. Although the older male was stressed about getting his younger girlfriend the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, at least he was trying. The neurosurgeon isn’t a patient person at all, and on any other occasion, Taehyung would’ve picked anything at random, swiped his credit card, and called it a day.
Jungkook doesn’t understand why does one put themselves through so much stress for one day. He’s a firm believer that there shouldn’t be a predetermined day to be romantic with your partner. Then again, Taehyung is right, the pediatrician hasn’t dated in a hot minute so what does he know?
The neurosurgeon clicks his tongue as he starts to think that he won’t be able to find anything for Yoonah in this store. He’s about to call Jungkook over to tell him that they should try Cartier next, but he holds himself back as he notices the youngest is stuck staring at one of the showcases displaying the latest arrivals.
Taehyung chuckles, placing his hand on Jungkook’s shoulder and startling him. ‘‘Thinking about getting someone something for Valentine’s?’’ He asks, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.
Jungkook laughs nervously, ‘‘No! I uh─’’
‘‘I think Y/N would really like that, don’t you think?’’ Taehyung interrupts him, a teasing tone to his voice. He actually has no damn clue what you even like, but he thinks it’s funny to pester his friend, especially when it comes to you.
It’s almost comical how embarrassed Jungkook gets whenever you’re romantically implied to him.
In any other moment, he’d tell Taehyung off. What does the neurosurgeon even know about what you like? This time, however, Jungkook remains silent as he looks back at the necklace that had caught his attention. Two interlocked pendants hanging delicately from the gold chain. It is something you would like.
‘‘So, are you gonna get it?’’ The neurosurgeon asks him, it almost feels like he’s cornering the youngest into swiping his black card right then and there.
Jungkook stammers, lips slightly ajar as he debates inside his head if he should.
He’s really not the type to give people gifts, not even to you. Although he did give you that spa day certificate last year, it was only because his mom had given it to him in the first place and he couldn’t seem to find the time to use it, regifting it to you because coincidentally you had been complaining about knots in your back that same week.
‘‘Let’s go,’’ the pediatrician mumbles, tugging his friends’ jacket to get him to leave the store.
There’s a really vivid picture of you wearing the necklace with a big smile on your face that he can’t seem to get out of his mind now.
---
You’ve always had mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day.
On one hand, you think the festivity is cute. The hospital gets decorated with pink and red colors, there are heart-shaped paper banners hanging from the walls and there’s even free candy all over the place!
On the other hand, it serves as a yearly reminder that you’re terribly single and have no one to spend this day with. Of course, you could always do something with your friends. Sadly, your friends are all busy doctors. Besides, you are very aware this day is marketed for couples. Whoever came up with the friendship idea must’ve been single and felt left out.
You already have plans of your own anyway. A bottle of wine and a family-sized bag of your favorite chips are waiting for you at home, you’re only left to pick what movie will be the chosen one for tonight.
The debate of what rom-com to watch is stopped as you enter your office, a gasp escaping your mouth as you notice the bouquet of flowers over your desk. Your eyebrows raise in surprise, taken aback by the sudden surprise.
You hadn’t been expecting anything from anyone. You were quite content with the amount of candy you had received, but something like this was far away from your mind.
It almost even scares you to look at it closely. Afraid it could be a terrible joke or a simple mistake someone had made, an arrangement wrongly delivered to you instead of the original owner. That’s a possibility.
Mustering up the courage to get closer, you pick up the bouquet to notice there’s a small blue box snuggled between the pretty flowers. Your eyes widen because...Tiffany & Co.? Yes, this must be a mistake.
There’s no note attached, which only makes you wonder who could possibly this gift be for.
You can almost hear a little devil Yoongi whispering from your shoulder finders keepers, it’s only fair since it’s in your office anyway. But there’s also ethical angel Namjoon on your other shoulder telling you to do the right thing, which is to head towards reception and ask who had entered your office and left it behind. Which you do ─ angel Namjoon rejoices as devil Yoongi swears he’ll get away with it someday.
The receptionist is typing away at her computer’s keyboard, registering the new files into the system as she notices you approaching with the bouquet on hand and she stops her work to smile at you.
‘‘Hello, Doctor Y/L/N! I see you got your Valentine’s Day gift, heading home already?’’ She asks curiously.
You chuckle, ‘‘I think there’s been a mistake.’’ The comment makes the receptionist’s eyebrows furrow together, confused at your words. ‘‘I don’t have a Valentine, so there’s no way this is for me. There’s not even a note attached to it.’’
‘‘Ohhh, I see.’’ She says in a tone you can’t quite pinpoint, getting back to her typing quickly.
You clear your throat, ‘‘I was wondering if you know who went inside my office today?’’
The receptionist refuses to look at you again, eyes focused on the screen in front of her. She shakes her head no, ‘‘So many people come and go, I lose track of them!’’
You sigh, defeated. The receptionist takes one last look at you before you leave, ‘‘That gift is for you, Dr. Y/L/N.’’ Your gaze moves back towards her, but you can tell her lips are sealed. Whoever left this behind must’ve asked for secrecy.
Looking back down at the bouquet in your hands, you smile slightly at the idea of this being yours. Someone actually gave you something for once.
The receptionist chuckles at your flustered cheeks and the smile you’re biting back from spreading across your face.
----
Jungkook’s phone buzzes as he steps outside his bathroom. It’s a message from the group chat and he quickly opens it, fingers beginning to tremble as he hopes it’s the long-awaited message he’s been hoping to see throughout most of the day.
[9:30 PM] Y/N 🥰❤️: i think i have a secret admirer?
[9:30 PM] Seokjin: Welcome to the club!
[9:31 PM] Namjoon: Why? Did you get something today?
The message that proceeds is one that makes Jungkook’s heart stop momentarily. It’s a selfie of you smiling, a gold necklace being the main focus as it sits pretty on your chest. These are the moments the pediatrician doesn’t question Namjoon’s diagnosis, he is crushing hard.
[9:34 PM] Yoongi: It looks expensive, good for you Y/N.
[9:32 PM] Taehyung: omg :0
[9:33 PM] Taehyung: that necklace looks awfully familiar…..
Jungkook is too busy staring at the picture to even notice Taehyung’s teasing.
It’s just like he had pictured, but much better.

sorry another one too 😅💕, zoenne & “I want the K”
Never say sorry for making me happy sending me a fanfic request, never. Thank you so much for this ❤💕
So the “I want the K” means the following: send me two characters and “I want the K” and I’ll generate a number for them! So I have decided to choose 1/7/11 for this zoenne prompt request.
1: Passionate kiss // 7: Goofy kiss // 11: Nose kiss  Zoë x Senne
With Christmas being around the corner and the family meetings and traditions about to begin, they all have decided to meet up, do a small Christmas party together. As a tradition, they all gathered around Zoë and Milan’s apartment with drinks, foods, and their Secret Santa presents, ready to party and have fun before the holidays start.
The flat looks so nice, all decorated for the occasion with little lights and garlands all over the place. Snow globes and small figures decorate the tree that very carefully the two roommates put up together, with a shiny gold star on top.
Warm wine, all sorts of drinks, and a big chocolate pot and marshmallows decorate the table. The candy bar with all types of sweets is currently being emptied, as the guest prefers the sweet over the savory plater with veggies and chips that Zoë has prepared. A mix of Christmas carols and fun upbeat songs sound in the background, as several groups of people talk while other dance happily.
It’s such a great party that everyone’s enjoying and having fun, and Zoë can’t be happier. This time last year she was partying in the same place, the same celebration going on, but the feeling was off. The was something -more like someone- missing and the happiness was not as high as it is tonight. Tonight no one isn’t happy, no one that isn’t smiling and having fun.
She looks around and all she can see is pure happiness. Noor, Britt, and Amber are talking while drinking the hot chocolate she carefully prepared with Sander’s help earlier. Speaking of Sander, he’s having what it looks like a dancing competition with Aaron and Moyo while Jens and Robbe look at them in a combination of embarrassment and amusement.
A laugh escapes from her lips as she ‘denies’ with her head, having a hard time keeping herself quiet so they don’t notice her laughing at them.
“Careful, pretty girl” a very busy Milan warns her, having his hands full of refilled candy bowls that their friends have been enjoying.
A big smile appears on her face. She’s so grateful she has found him. Every time she looks at him she’s more and more sure that Milan is a Guardian Angel sent from heaven. He has helped every single person he saw it needed help, without searching for anything in return. He is the most selfless person she has ever met. An older brother, a parent figure, and the best friend she could ask for.
One of the bowls that Milan was bringing end up in Jana’s hands, eating the candy inside like popcorn as she listens to whatever Yasmina is saying. Her best friend is finally back for the holidays, after spending more than two months in New York, and she cannot be happier. Her video calls and endless text messages are not enough when all you need is one of her hugs. And she thought that the month and a half of ‘distance relationship’ she had to do with Senne in lockdown were hard. Ha! Silly you, Zoë, she tells herself. Nothing will top the sadness and loneliness that you feel when your best friend is far away from you.
Luckily, Yasmina, Amber, Robbe, Milan, and Senne were there for her. She cannot thank the world enough for giving her these amazing people, and those who came with them, for loving her unconditionally and support her every step of the way.
Now that she notices, something is going on. She sips on her non-alcoholic gin tonic that Senne made her as she suspiciously looks at the little group formed of her boyfriend and two best friends talking way too secretive, as they stopped talking when Milan approached them, and they keep looking at her without any reasonable explanation.
On that couch on the other side of the room, and very far away from the bleach blonde girl, a very important conversation is going on. With the breakup and the ‘let’s try to not have contact with each other as much as possible’, Senne hasn’t been able to celebrate almost anything with his girlfriend. Not Christmas, not neither of their birthdays or even Valentines’s Day. And now that they are back together and with no plans of breaking up ever again, he’s excited to continue with the celebrations.
Last November they celebrated six months since they got back together. It was a private ‘celebration’, as Zoë said that last time they celebrated a six month anniversary they broke up a bit afterward, and thought they would have bad luck again, so they decided to go to dinner and spend the night in Senne’s apartment, celebrating their own way. And now Christmas is coming up and Senne has big plans for her gift, but he needs help and approval.
That’s why he is talking to the two people that know Zoë best, after him of course. He knows how important Yasmina and Jana are to Zoë and he wants to make sure that what he has planned is something he will know she will like. He would talk to Milan, but he doesn’t know how to keep a secret and everyone would know the next day, so better be safe and tell the girls than sorry because of Milan.
“I think the Christmas trip to Bruges is a good idea, she will like it” Yasmina smiles, and Senne is happy. At first, he thought that a trip would be too much, specially after the Museum and concert tickets he also planned to give her, along with a small and delicate coin pendant necklace with their initials engraved on it.
They all laugh as chocolate-covered peanuts fly out of Jana’s mouth, as she was trying to fit too many and forgot about them while talking. When everyone is calmed down and everything is as clean as possible, Jana answers: “Yeah, I think it’s a good idea, too”
“What is a good idea?” A curious Zoë asks, surprising them all. They look at each other not knowing what to say.
“Nothing,” Senne says quickly as a nervous smile shines on his face, while the girls keep quiet and Zoë is looking at them suspiciously.
The couple locks eyes, challenging each other to see who is going to give up earlier. Senne has a secret to keep, a type of secret that is better to keep, and Zoë knows something is up and is determined to discover it.
“I think Amber is calling us over there, so we will leave you two alone, right Jana?” After a few looks and some gentle slaps on her arm, Jana finally agrees and they leave them alone.
As Senne’s nervousness starts to rise, Zoë thinks about a plan to make him speak. Her mother one time told her that women are powerful if they use their tributes the right way and even though she highly disagrees with that sexist statement, in this type of situation, it’s not a bad idea.
Without any explanation, Zoë sits seductively in his lap, playing with the back is his hair while biting her bottom lip. If the central heating of the apartment wasn’t enough, now he certainly is a bit too hot.
“Baby?” Hot air from her whisper touches his ear and he has to physically stop himself from reacting, so she won’t know that she is indeed making him weak. How could she not? She is his biggest weakness.
Swallowing hard, he answers a quick “Yeah” while trying to think about something to distract him. Thankfully, Robbe and Sander are teasing Aaron and it’s useful enough to make him forget about the gorgeous lady he has in his lap.
“Remember when we agreed to communicate and tell the other one everything?” She is feeling herself, so she comes close to his lips and before kissing him she adds: “Well, I think right now you are not telling me everything”
Hopefully, and he doesn’t care that it sounds bad, he has time to think of his excuse while she’s kissing him. He should be enjoying the kiss. Zoë is not a passionate kisser, especially in public, so the fact that they are basically making out in front of everyone and he’s not enjoying it fully because his girlfriend is too noisy is such a shame.
“Are you going to tell me what were you talking about with my friends?”
Thank god he still has some brain cells that haven’t been affected: “Oh your friends? They are not my friends, too?” Now is his time to smirk at her, and distracting her from the secret that is her Christmas gifts.
“They were my friends first, then yours, but they were mine first.”
“Possessive, huh?” He lifts his eyebrows, smirking at her sassy face, as she’s, without succeeding, trying to make an angry face.
“You are not going to distracting me, you are keeping something from me” Oh, her stubborn girl, he’s going to have to try hard to not say anything.
“It’s nothing bad, I promise. But you cannot know, at least not yet.”
If her trying to be seductive didn’t work, she doesn’t know what will. She considers herself a pretty normal girl, but when she’s with him, when Senne looks at her, she feels so powerful and unstoppable. So the fact that that didn’t work, the fact that with a bit of seduction she didn’t make him spill whatever secret he’s keeping from her, it's a bit upsetting.
So she tries to do what she thinks will work: tickle him. At first, he laughs, doesn’t talk, or confesses tho, just laughs and tries to escape. It’s all fun and giggles when she remembers that he is stronger than her and that it’s a matter of seconds when he realizes that he can beat her.
And as if they were connected, Senne finally realizes that he can beat her, and gently blocks her hand from his ribcage to blow raspberries into her neck, making it her time to laugh.
“I promise you, on my life, that it’s nothing bad. It’s one of those things you need to know at a certain time, that’s why I can’t tell you right now, cause it’s not the right time to do so. Okay?” he can see her physically gasp for air, just to make the fakest thinking face ever. “Do you trust me?”
Her face softens, the brightest and sweet smile appearing on her face. She sits up, as she was in his lap, and sits on the couch next to him. Grabbing his big hand in her tiny ones, she looks at him while rubbing her thumb against his hand. “I do, I trust you”.
“Good” With how she’s sitting on the couch and the noticeable height difference they have, giving her a kiss on the lips is quite a difficult task, as the kiss that was supposed to end up in her lips ends in her nose, causing an adorable giggle to escape both their mouths.
“You missed”
“Maybe, maybe not” The sight that is her eyes shining in love is definitely one of his favorite things, right after how their hearts seem to beat at the same time when they kiss.
Prompt from the But do you REALLY want the K? list.

{Valentine’s Collection} #11
“I am so in love with you that I want you to sign a contract that will make it harder for you to dump me.”
Tumblr media
Monica paused in the act of untying her boyfriend’s bow-tie, blinking up at a handsome, but goofy smile that was spreading across his face. She shook her head, returning to her task with a breathy laugh that tickled along his nerves like the tips of her fingers.
“What’s funny? I’m completely serious.”
“You’re never completely serious, Michael.” Monica countered, undoing the fasten that she’d had to tie for him--because he didn’t know how. Either that, or he said he didn’t, so she’d do up his ties for him. Monica didn’t know, honestly, and asking wouldn’t get her a straight answer. “They still have marriage in the future, huh?”
“Of course they still have marriage in the future--oh wait, is this that sad panda stuff Dot talks about?” Michael caught Monica’s little hands when she went to drop them, but he couldn’t stop her dead-panned expression even as he moved her hands to his mouth.
“Stop talking to Dot about me.”
“No? She’s got tons of information that I need. Like what’s the big deal about March 31st--”
“S-So what’s the deal with this love contract?” Monica changed the subject adeptly, something easy to do because her boyfriend, famed superhero Michael Carter, aka Booster Gold, was effortless to distract. Michael made a noise as he released her hands, allowing her to return to pulling off his tie.
“Love contract? Wow I really love the way that sounds, it’s so much better than a marriage license.” Michael turned a little to the left. “Skeets? Hey, do you think you could change that file name from ‘You Can’t Dump Me’ to ‘Love Contract’?”
Michael’s personal security AI, Skeets, answered immediately from his hovering position nearby. « Yes, considering that’s a much better name. Unsurprising since Monica came up with it. »
“Thank you, Skeets,” Monica laughed, but Michael just pouted.
“Stop sucking up to my wife.”
Skeets was quick on the comeback--as always. « She isn’t your wife yet. »
“Well she didn’t say no!”
« You didn’t ask her yet. »
“Yet yet yet, nag nag nag!”
Monica finished untying Michael’s tie and she slipped it from around his shirt collar before tossing the fabric onto his nearby dresser. The two were back home from a party at the Justice League, an annual Valentine’s Day celebration that was probably a little silly, but a lot of superheroes suffer in the love department. It’s hard, maintaining a relationship when you’re constantly splitting your attention between a significant other and the entire rest of the world, so a lot of superheroes spend the holiday alone. A way to remedy this was to host a party so that being alone was an option, not a mandatory sentence, and the party boasted more and more participating supers every year. Michael was one of the lucky few to have a partner, but he’d actually met Monica at the Valentine’s Party a few years ago--she was the organizer of the first event, the smashing success that started the yearly tradition and Michael had been so enamored with her handling of such a sentimental holiday he’d asked her out right on the spot...and then repeatedly the entire rest of the night, when she continued to duck his question with claims of needing to work the room. Sure, if it had been, say, The Joker, that attention would have been creepy and probably a little stalk-y but Michael wasn’t The Joker and he was pretty sure The Joker wasn’t even on the guest list, so what he was doing was winning Monica over.
It had worked, especially since Michael had stayed after to help Monica and her Staff clean the reception hall. When the night was over, Michael walked Monica to her car and tried again to ask her out--and this time, she’d said yes. The ensuing dates ended with a laughing, blossoming love between two kindred souls who enjoyed a good laugh and spending time together doing anything, didn’t matter what. Monica didn’t mind that Michael was a little...eccentric, that he wasn’t some brooding Bat or the all-too-perfect Superman. Michael was who he was and he did his best, tried his hardest every day--that was what Monica respected, appreciated, and loved, and with her help and influence Michael’s standing in the superhero world only grew to match his name of Gold. He became a shining example of what a hero should be, a model boyfriend to his loyal and loving girlfriend and every Valentine’s Day celebration that followed showed them as the couple other superheroes wanted to mold their relationships after--though that had a lot to do with them wishing it was them Monica was with. Michael didn’t think too hard about that, because beneath his light-hearted, playful banter was a jealous man all too aware of the prize he’d been lucky enough to win. Monica was one in a million and that was exactly why he didn’t want to leave to chance that they’d be together forever. He wanted it in writing and he wanted a ring on her finger--he wanted a ring on his finger, too. He wanted the big ceremony with all his friends in attendance, he wanted to watch Monica walk down the aisle to him, he was going to write his own vows...he wanted everything the movies promised and more, because he was a man in love. Wholly, unapologetically, shout it from the rooftops in love.
“You will sign it, right, baby?” Michael’s curious, nervous blue eyes searched Monica’s face without even waiting for her answer. “You love me enough to marry me, right?”
“M-Michael,” Monica laughed, a little flustered at how eager he seemed. He was like a little boy sometimes, but that was what endeared her to him. He was earnest and she always knew where she stood with him; he never made her question anything, most especially where he stood in their relationship and what he wanted. “Have you thought this through? I mean, really thought about it.”
“Are you kidding? That’s all I’ve been thinking about since the first moment I saw you,” Michael gestured with both arms out, his suit jacket unable to hide that superhero physique. “I knew you were the marrying type the second I saw you at that first party.”
“I’m pretty sure I was yelling at someone when you first saw me,” Monica muttered, pushing Michael’s suit jacket off--under the guise of helping him out of his party clothes but there were definite perks to the tight button-up shirt underneath.
“Oh, you totally were. Some idiot had knocked over one of the potted plants you’d picked out for the party and you were letting them have it,” Michael’s smile was dreamy as he thought back to the memory. “I’d showed up early to the party because I forgot what time it started--”
« Because you lost the invitation. »
“It was fate,” Michael shot at Skeets, who very likely would have rolled his eyes if he had any to roll. “I showed up early so I could watch Monica work and fall in love.”
“Fall in love with the party planner shouting at her employees.”
“The guy was an idiot who knocked over a plant, I’d have yelled at him too. Especially if you wanted me to,” Michael added with that handsome grin of his. Monica stepped toward their closet to hang his jacket up with a good-natured roll of her eyes, but she was smiling. Michael moved to sit on the end of the bed, watching Monica even as he continued to talk. “You sent him to clean up the mess and I could hear you muttering to yourself about ‘idiot men’ as you checked over your clipboard to make sure everything was still on schedule, and I realize you had your life so together you could afford to plan other people’s lives. Do you know how much I respected that?”
Monica emerged from their shared closet with a half-smirk twisting pretty, painted lips. “Do you want me to take that or do you want Skeets to?”
“Skeets can get out,” Michael stressed, but the AI didn’t seem to be budging from his nearby hovering. “I’m trying to have a moment with my wife.”
« She’s not-- »
“If you say she’s not my wife again I’m going to throw you out the window.” Michael turned back to face Monica, who was taking off her diamond chain bracelets but before she could reach up to take off her matching necklace, Michael was back on his feet, moving behind her. “Here, let me.”
“Thanks, baby.” Monica murmured, catching Michael’s gaze effortlessly in the vanity mirror--after all, he was over a foot taller than she was.
“You’re welcome, angel. And hey, like I was saying before Skeets interrupted--”
« I did not interrupt. »
“I was saying, I really respected the hell out of you. It’s not easy to please a room full of superheroes--trust me, anytime it’s my turn to order coffee and donuts for the League I always manage to screw something up,” Michael slowly released the clasp to Monica’s necklace, allowing her to catch the pendant in the front and lay it to rest beside her bracelets. He moved his large hands to her hips, spinning Monica to face him and immediately, just like she always did, she stole his breath away. His mind switched topics and his smile was full enough to show teeth. “You look so beautiful, Monica.”
Monica tried to duck out of Michael’s seeking gaze, shaking her head, but he was having none of it. One arm slipped around the small of her back, his other hand moving to catch her chin so she couldn’t look away or deny what he was saying.
“I mean it. You’re like, this sort of timeless, classic beauty and there’s no one like you, in the future or now. I can’t believe I get to call you mine. I can’t believe you let me take you out that first night, that you accepted my mild stalking behavior just so I could take you to dinner--but I’m so glad you did.” Michael’s thumb caressed against Monica’s lower lip, his fingers possessive against her chin. “I’m glad you knew I wouldn’t stop bothering you and that surrendering was your best option.”
Monica couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re such a nerd.”
“I’m a nerd in love,” Michael complimented effortlessly. “I would have chased you to the ends of the earth, the ends of time and space, because I knew from the first moment I met you I wanted to marry you. You can ask Skeets, the creation date on that Love Contract--still love that name by the way--is the same day I met you.”
Monica didn’t ask because she couldn’t handle the confirmation--she knew Michael was telling the truth because she’d felt the same connection, the same pull toward him that he always claimed he felt toward her. The two fell in love the way movies play out, the way books are written; effortlessly, all at once, until one day they were living together and it seemed to happen in the blink of an eye. Monica loved Michael and she knew Michael loved her; not just because he told her every single day, but because he showed it, too. Michael text her nearly constantly, whether he was on duty with the League or she was at work, and anytime he could spend with her, that was what he wanted to do. He shared her interests and that wasn’t just because they were similar--anything he wasn’t interested in before her, he took the time to learn about it because she was into it and that was why he wanted to be, too. Michael seemed, to the outside world, absent-minded and a little flighty perhaps, but that wasn’t the Michael Monica knew. He was eager to please, eager to be accepted, and each day she spent with him she could tell she was appreciated. He shone like the Gold he claimed to be under her love and praise, and in return, so did she.
Michael closed the distance between himself and Monica for a quick but claiming kiss because he couldn’t help himself; the way she was blushing so prettily in his arms was going to break his heart. Her lips were soft and pliant against his and his arm tightened like an iron band around her back, keeping her petite frame fitted to his in a way he’d never forget.
“I love you so much,” Michael muttered against her lips, unwilling or unable (really, he couldn’t tell the difference) to relinquish them. “Be my bride, Monica? Say yes to me? Please?”
“Y-Yes,” Monica nodded gently, because how could she tell him no? There wasn’t a part of her that wanted to, and as he closed the scant distance between them with an excited noise, claiming her mouth again, she knew she’d made the right choice.
“Oh, shit, wait, before I forget.” Michael drew back just a little, a look of worry passing over his handsome features. “We uh, we can’t invite Batman to the wedding.”
“W-What?” Monica blinked in surprise, a little breathless from Michael’s kiss and his questions. “Why?”
“It’s...a long story, but the short version is I don’t want to know what the hell he’d get us for a wedding present.”
