Thinking about the three times Criston Cole is mentioned in the main series. The first two mentions of Criston come from the POV of Arys Oakheart, a member of the Kingsguard whose soiled white cloak mirrors Cole’s own. He thinks about Criston, it's clear he does not really know what to make of this man; what were his motives, what goals did he chase? Criston and Rhaenyra. Arys and Arianne. Duty and Love.
Tumblr media
All things come round again. The dragon eats its own tail, just as House Targaryen once cannibalized itself. The wheel turns, and the same patterns repeat. One knight kneels to defend the birthright of two women while the other took up the sword to cast a woman down from her throne.
When Arys sinks to one knee before Arianne and swears his sword to her, he casts himself as her champion and protector, a righteous defender of her claim. He is everything Criston Cole was not—or so he believes. Criston abandoned Rhaenyra for ambition or resentment, while Arys protects Arianne for love and justice. Ser Arys the Righteous, the knight who will stand where Criston faltered. A Queenmaker come to set right the wrongs a Kingmaker wrought long ago.
Tumblr media
The final mention of Criston Cole comes from Jaime's POV as he gazes upon the White Book.
The White Book is sparse, reduced to titles and deeds, devoid of the messy truths behind them. Ser Criston did not simply make a king—he destroyed a king’s will. He did not merely defend the customs of the Andals—he sparked a war that tore the dragons from the skies and broke the might of House Targaryen. Ser Criston Cole, a knight of a house so minor its sigil is forgotten, shaped the fate of empires. "Kingmaker," they call him. Not oathbreaker.
"Kingslayer," they call Jaime. A villain. A man of no honor. Oathbreaker. Like Criston, he betrayed his king—but the meaning of that betrayal is lost in the shadow of the act itself. Jaime slew Aerys to save thousands. Criston betrayed Rhaenyra for Aegon, for ambition, for duty—or perhaps for nothing more than wounded pride. The truth of Criston’s motives, like Jaime’s, has been buried.
The wheel spins endlessly, grinding down the truth until only fragments remain: Criston the Kingmaker. Jaime the Kingslayer. One who made a king, the other who killed one. And what goes around comes around.

'Rhaenyra is a bad mom bc she knowingly gave birth to bastards and she knew how much danger they'd be in!!!!'
1. She had no way of knowing those babies wouldn't pop out looking exactly like her, beforehand. And unfortunately she couldn't stop at Jace. The throne needed an heir. Driftmark needed an heir. And a spare was needed as well, given the sheer rate of Targaryen children dying untimely deaths.
2. She had to provide heirs to the throne, and to Driftmark. If she hadn't, society wouldn't have blamed Laenor, they would have blamed her- which makes her position even more unstable, bc then she 'can't fulfill a woman's duty' so why would men think her 'able' to fill a 'man's role' by ruling the kingdom? And she and Laenor tried. He was either unable (meaning infertile or impotent, or unable to get it up), or unwilling. (And they did try. We dont know what they tried but Rhaenyra is shown to be clever in the show so honestly i have no doubt she attempted what Margaery suggested with Renly.) Laenor was in on the entire thing. He was aware of every part of this. He wasn't duped, he wasn't cuckholded- it was a plan greenlit by him, bc this way he and Rhaenyra would both have their heirs and a family. This cannot in any way shape or form be compared to Cersei cuckholding Robert (fuck Robert Baratheon tho), seeing as Robert was **not** at all aware that his children weren't his, and wouldn't have been OK with that.
Either way- she chose not to maritally r*pe her husband and put him through more trauma after it was clear their attempts weren't working. Yall are always so upset for Alicent (rightfully so, bc show!alicent was maritally raped, even if it wasn't considered as such in that time), but you... WANT Rhaenyra to do that to Laenor? Hello???
[And no. Rhaenyra did NOT rape or coerce Criston Cole. The actors, writers, and directors have all stated their sex was consensual and 'an act of love.' It was Rhaenyra going to someone she felt close to and trusted after feeling abandoned and unwanted and betrayed. In that scene you literally watch, as after Cole tells Rhaenyra to stop undressing herself, she moves aside so she isn't blocking his way to the door. The director states that the moment they show Cole folding and setting down his cloak was him choosing his desire over his oaths. And Criston Cole has known Rhaenyra since she was 14. He knew damn well the sort of person she was- and she was not the person who would have harmed him for saying no. She was an intoxicated and emotionally vulnerable 19 year old- Criston was in his late 20s to early 30s. And it's explicitly stated in ep.9 that the ONLY person a Kingsguard cannot refuse is the king. In ep.7 Criston disobeys a direct order from Alicent when she wants him to mutilate Lucerys. Criston Cole was not assaulted. Stop trying to assign Aegon's sins to Rhaenyra so that you can feel better for supporting him.]
3. In the books, the rumors of their bastardry at large halted when all of Rhaenyra's boys' cradle eggs hatched. The ONLY people who continued to try and raise issue were the core green faction. But the realm at large *did not give a fuck* why? Because every actually relevant party claimed those boys. Repeatedly and without flinching. Laenor claimed and loved those boys even face to face with Alicent's bullshit. Corlys claimed and love those boys- he was proud of them, and it's been stated by the actor in the show that Luke was his favorite- that given the... events of ep.10, Corlys will be out for blood. And Viserys repeatedly insisted upon their legitimacy- because Laenor and Corlys claimed them, because he knew that by forcing Rhaenyra to marry Laenor in order to repair the damage his insults caused House Velaryon, that he had backed her into a corner.
Rhaenyras boys are remembered to history as Velaryon. Even **Green supporters** noted that they were good, capable, intelligent, and **worthy** princes. That their deaths were unfortunate *for the realm.*
Legally, those boys are legitimate. They cannot be proven illegitimate without Laenor renouncing them, and he never did. Furthermore, trying to declare children illegitimate due to their appearance is a stupid, dangerous precedent. The fact that it's people who have no ties to House Velaryon pushing these rumors and pushing for disinheritance makes it even worse, because they're meddling in the succession of a House that *is not theirs.* if that became a standard, imagine the feuds and conflicts that would erupt- lords pushing for the children of rivals to be declared illegitimate all for the sake of trying to grasp and steal land, power, and influence as a norm? The realm would tear itself apart. Not to mention the sheer danger that would place women in, in Westeros.
Furthermore, even whilst usurping her, even while calling her children bastards, the Greens also imply Laenor's homosexuality was inherited by the Velaryon princes- that they would use Rhaenyra's 'promiscuity' and Laenor's 'predilections' to turn the Red Keep into a brothel- ironic, considering that's more what Aegon would've done. So even while claiming that Rhaenyras children are bastards that shouldn't inherit, they try to state that what the boys inherit or learn from Laenor makes them unfit for the throne. They can't keep their own damn story straight- because their usurpation was never about what is moral, what is right, or the greater good. It was about greed. Power. Sexism.
It doesn't matter what those boys looked like, especially seeing as Rhaenys had dark hair in the books. What matters is that Corlys and Laenor and Viserys claimed them and declared them legitimate, and that they **never** deviated from that.
As for Vaemond, he was a second son. And he waited until Corlys and Viserys were dying and too ill to stop him to make a grasp for power. Youre not supposed to look at that and feel hes in the right. Youre supposed to look at that and see a man consumed by greed, and literally trying to bury Corlys' will and intentions before the man is even in a grave. He was NEVER Corlys' heir- he just wanted power. It wasn't about his House, or their legacy, it was about him.
(And before yall start shit about Rhaenyras boys stealing Laena's girls' inheritance... Rhaena and Baela are *TARGARYEN*. Not Velaryon. Their claim was to the throne or to any holdings in Daemon's name. NOT to Driftmark.)
Rhaenyras boys being betrothed to Rhaena and Baela tied up any issue of 'Velaryon blood.' Baela would have been queen consort of the seven kingdoms at Jace's side, and they very clearly adored one another in book and show. Rhaena would have been Lady of the Tides- which she never would have had a chance for, without Rhaenyra (and Laena) making those betrothals. She and Luke were also canonically very close- and in show she's very encouraging of him whenever he looks nervous or uncertain. They had a bond.
Rhaenyra stole nothing. She gave those girls more. And she loved them- they were the only daughters she got to have, seeing as the Greens treachery caused the early death of baby Visenya. If she hadn't loved them, she wouldn't have trusted Rhaena to look after Joffrey or give her Morning's egg from Syrax. She wouldn't have immediately invited both girls to the table when she was queen, which is something her father did not do for her until much, much later. He allowed Rhaenyra's voice to be silenced too often when she was first made heir. Rhaenyra did not repeat that hurt to her girls or her boys.
Anyways, moving on.
You lot do also remember that Rhaenyra herself has Velaryon blood, right? Jaehaerys I's mother was Alyssa Velaryon. Aegon, Rhaenys, and Visenya the Conquerors' mother was Valaena Velaryon. It's not immediate, but there *is* Velaryon blood through *all* of Rhaenyras boys.
Ultimately, Rhaenyras boys were only in danger because of the core Green faction usurping the throne. If they hadnt- no succession crisis or rebellion could have truly threatened Rhaenyras boys- because none of them would have had dragons. All of Rhaenyras children loved one another- her sons by Daemon would not have turned on her sons with Laenor (and Harwin). They were a true, loving family- possibly one of the healthiest and most close knit one House Targaryen ever boasted.
And another thing... 'her having babies with Harwin was stupid, she should have picked someone Valyrian!'
Here's the thing. Rhaenyra had to be careful as hell choosing who would father her and Laenor's heirs. She had to choose someone who was physically close, and who could be trusted. Someone who wouldn't try to publicly claim those boys in boast or jealousy. Someone who would keep their mouth shut and had no ambition of their own in regards to the throne. Do you really think Vaemond Velaryon (as I see him suggested a lot) would've kept his mouth shut? That he wouldn't have tried to use this to blackmail Rhaenyra and Laenor for more power and status? Do you think Rhaenys would have ever fought for or supported Rhaenyra if Rhaenyra had tried to have Corlys sire her children? And flying to see Daemon in Pentos and having a purely Valyrian child 9 months later would have made things look even more suspect.
Furthermore... she chose someone who cared for her deeply. Who clearly had a positive relationship with Laenor. She chose someone so she wouldn't have to traumatize herself- she took power over her body in a way almost no Westerosi woman has ever been able to. They were a family unit- Rhaenyra, Laenor, and Harwin. Those children were loved and cherished by two fathers and their mother. They were raised never doubting their mothers love, nor their father's- either father. They were raised and educated to be true, good princes of the realm.
Rhaenyra fought like hell for her children. She was an incredible mother. Yall just believe everything the Green faction says without looking at it critically, and that's unfortunate as hell.

idk about you guys but rooks rest in HOTD is not canon to me. the rest of this show isn’t canon from here on out because it’s obvious they hold no respect for aemond’s character or any character in fire and blood they way they were written originally. so many of the F&B characters have been written entirely wrong and it’s so blood-boiling. especially the greens!!! so many of them have such compelling stories and they’ve been thrown in the trash!
they’ve thrown helaena aside. in fire and blood, she’s a dragon dreamer! she has a dragon! she had three kids she loved so much! she is a valued queen of the realm! what is she in the show? the quiet one no one listens to or tries to connect with besides her own mom.
they’ve utterly ruined aemond. in so many ways, they’ve changed him drastically. while aemond does have hard feelings with aegon and makes some sly and questionable comments about aegon not being fit to rule— HE DOESNT TRY TO KILL HIS BROTHER???? I genuinely cannot fathom how the writers could sit in the writers room and be like, “yes. this plot line. this is gold.” they’ve ruined him. they have fucking ruined him, his loyalty, and what he is fighting for. “you think you can fly about the realm and steal MY brothers throne?” — AEMOND TARGARYEN!!!!! and you’re telling me he attempts to murder his brother? no. fuck off, no.
they’ve made aegon seem like nothing but an idiot. aegon may not be as smart as aemond but oh my god he’s not some blubbering stupid idiot who can’t sit still. they cut out his whole reason for ascending the throne as well and that is so damning to his character. aegon takes the throne because criston and alicent place the worry of his siblings being slain in his mind. they convince him rhaenyra will kill him, his siblings, and his children— so he takes the throne. “what kind of brother steals his sisters birthright?” — AEGON TARGARYEN
they have reduced alicent to criston’s fling and vise versa for criston. alicent was a strong and compelling character— and now we have to watch her give herself a miscarriage? really? the woman who was so adamant about her son ascending the throne is sitting there and telling him to do nothing after saying he should be asking questions and learning from them???? “nothing” is the answer you give your son — the king — after he asks for your advice, alicent? really? it just proves she and everyone around her raised aegon to be a puppet— and she’s so lost inside her own “sins” she can’t even see how damned her children are because she doesn’t take the time to actually care for them.
they’re going to introduce daeron soon but show watchers have no idea who he is. when he shows up, it’s not going to be meaningful. just like when aegon started acting all loving and silly on screen with his kids and it left being people like “wow, what the fuck???” IF YOU DONT SHOW THE CHARACTER OR WRITE THEM CORRECTLY, PEOPLE WONT FEEL ATTACHED TO THEM CORRECTLY!!!!
THE MISCHARACTERIZATION OF THESE CHARACTERS IS KILLING THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!
even with rhaenyra. i love that she wants to uphold peace and i think it’s so valiant, but everyone is ready for rhaenyra the cruel. give us maegor with tits the way she is in the books and stop having her care so much for alicent. it’s killing her reign. the men in her council are harping her and her not being around during the start of a wartime is maddening to watch. yes, she’s a mother. yes, she wants peace. but peace can’t be achieved through Alicent!!! I loved their relationship in the younger years, but there is nothing to salvage and I’m so fucking happy jace snapped at her. she shouldn’t care for alicent at all— because alicent in F&B was her older step-mother that didn’t get along with her. even in HOTD after rhaenyra knows alicent usurped her throne over a miscommunication, there shouldn’t be anymore “but we were once friends” moments. idc if it was a mistake on alicent part— that mistake is something she isn’t even willing to admit or fix. in rhaenyra’s eyes, alicent should no longer mean anything from here on out.
rhaenyra is also no more a pillar of peace than aegon is. they both do terrible things whether or not it takes rhaenyra longer to start doing them. they both get people killed. they BOTH tear down the realm in attempt to grapple for the throne.
it’s fucking exhausting at this point watching the writers play a game of “this side is more morally righteous” when they’re all bad. it’s even more frustrating when the cost of “this side is better than this side” comes by destroying these characters and ruining the moments that define them!!!
rooks rest was a shit show. not only did they make aemond do something ENTIRELY out of character for him, they didn’t even give rhaenys her correct death. she doesn’t fall to her death. she gets burned like a true dragonrider.
rest in piece to rhaenys— and to aemond because they just dug his whole character a grave to jump into when people watch next weeks episode.

what are your thoughts on the madonna-whore complex allegations constantly lobbed at criston from rhaenicent and rhaenyra stans alike. because i dont see it at all. also a lot of them don't even seem to be using the madonna-whore complex correctly. it's supposed to be in regard to men in relationships with woman that lose sexual arousal for these women when they see them in more domestic, motherly, etc. light. the fandom is so collectively off base about this lmao.
yeah, i feel like criston's stuff is a bit more complicated, even just based on the information given in S1. in a way, you can say he grows to be attracted to the mother figure and repulsed by the whore figure, but he wasn't always like that. he himself said he had dalliances with girls before joining the kingsguard and he is very much attracted to the outgoing, spunky maiden rhaenyra, but there is also this tension with the quiet, introverted young alicent in his confession scene!
i'm not sure exactly how to word this, but criston strikes me as the type of man who is malleable, who doesn't have much in the way of plans or objectives. he lived a pretty aimless life before he is introduced on screen and joined the kingsguard as it was a prestigious institution which offered him structure and something to strive for. so, in a way, he replaced his haphazard youth with knightly ideals and gallantry. but, even this purposelessness - i wouldn't hold it above his head as a fault either. westerosi society just doesn't have the space for someone like him - the son of minor nobility, who probably doesn't have much in the way of inheritance. he can't exactly go out and "get a job" (the sources of wealth creation aren't very diversified) without it being considered a huge stepdown and humiliation and bringing shame on his family (the social stratification really might seem very alien to someone living in 2024). so, of course that in a society that values martial prowess (something he happens to be good at), he would be attracted to activities in the militaristic sphere.
and i don't mean to say that he is just amoral and doesn't have any principles either, i'm sure he would LIKE to be this perfect knight that embodies self-sacrifice and courage and selflessness, but, like many other westerosi institutions, the kingsguard is an oppressive one. it's NOT normal to impose abstinence on someone, it's NOT normal to not allow them to retire and make them live this frugal, unattached life, just trailing after royalty all day, standing for hours on end in rooms and hallways. so, of course, criston finds it difficult (i'm guessing a lot of the kingsguard members had similar feelings) and of course he "strays" (that's one way of putting it, bc we all remember the discussions on the non-consensual nature of that scene).
criston's existential crisis is very real and raw and a by-product of the westerosi feudal system - what IS a man like him supposed to do with his life? he thought he had found purpose in the kingsguard, but he found himself in a situation where he broke his vows, so he tries to reason that maybe his new purpose can be rhaenyra - his love for her, running away with her, marrying her, taking care of her etc. so it very much doesn't matter for him that she herself gave away her chastity before marriage (and could be thus labelled a "whore" by their society's standards). but when rhaenyra refuses him - it's like that quote from dostoevsky - “your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing.”
so, where i'm going with this is that criston has personal beef with rhaenyra. she behaved towards him in a careless way and discarded him without a second thought, whereas for him their affair was a huge, all-consuming thing. now, had rhaenyra went on and lived an exemplary life as a married woman, with no bastard children, he still probably would have hated her for what she did, but, i'm not sure, just based off S1 information, that he would still call her names
to go back to the madonna-whore axis, like you said, men who have that complex tend to view the "whore" as someone sexually appealing - whereas i think criston's disillusionment with rhaenyra has surpassed any attraction he had for her in the past. meanwhile, despite being a "mother" figure, alicent's life of quiet servitude has made her very attractive in his eyes. but! who is to say that rhaenyra couldn't have been more diplomatic and empathetic with him in handling their affair? had she put a bit more effort in, manipulated him into being her secret lover instead of harwin strong? sure, he could have refused, but had she played the woe-is-me card, the i-have-to-sacrifice-my-happiness-for-the-good-of-the-realm and convinced him that she wasn't going along with his oranges plan because she, too, had higher ideals she had to serve, i don't think he would have seen her in this unfavourable light (what if rhaenyra were a different person entirely LOL)
so, basically, what i mean to say is that, ultimately, rhaenyra treated criston in a nasty way and now he hates her, whereas alicent treated him with kindness and now he worships the ground she walks on. but what if the roles were reversed? what if alicent had been unpleasant to him and rhaenyra the compassionate one? would criston still be crowning king aegon? is this truly about a madonna-whore complex or about personal relationships, how you behave towards people and how those past grievances interact when it comes to securing someone's loyalty? everyone is more inclined to be indulgent towards their friends and to keep their side, even if they might not always be in the right. it's easier to go to bat for someone you like than for someone you don't! people can always rationalise their principles away in such situations and develop double-standards

PLEASE speak more on Alicole daughter she is my special pookie
little alicolita..... i have a few specific headcanons but i need you to know this takes place in some nebulous danceless time space bc otherwise i think she would have like fallen off a dragon or been torn apart by a mob like the other dance era children
mega serial killer gene she has the catholic repression of her mother and disassociation of her father and it combines to be a truly offputting three thousand yard stare child. kinda similar to helaena but much more resnetful and violent and tbh once helaena finds out she's been disecting bugs alicent has to keep them on separate ends of the castle
as she hits puberty i also think she would have a specific complex about being physically larger (bc her dad is a tank) and also like hairier than her mother/sister/other targaryens like she has dark brown dornish hair and her mother is constantly trying to get her to shave or pluck it (shhhhhh i know this is a modern beauty standard idc idc)
if they do try to pass her off as viserys's child i dont think anyone in the fucking world would believe it she is literally a reach/dorne alliance baby. and this leads her to be very isolated from her mother and siblings. honestly they'd probably send her to oldtown.
in oldtown they hate criston cole he literally killed beloved bus driver lyman beesbury plus he's dornish plus (insert all the valid reasons to hate criston) but alicolita (i wish the seven had saints so i could name her after one and feel realistic about it) LOVES her dad. like she is cristonator no. 1. she wants to be just like him and basically leverages her "targaryen princess" status to get the hightowers to allow her to train as a fighter. and all the beloved victorian dandy ceremonial knights of oldtown are in awe of her superstar serial killer murder skills
also she's not religious. though she is very repressed and permanently guilty she doesnt believe in the seven. #westeros'sfirstatheistdornishtargaryenprincess

rhaenyra (and other characters like alicent, laenor, viserys, etc.) feature love versus duty as an internal conflict throughout their stories in the show. rhaenyra does tend to shirk duty in the beginning, sure, but i think marrying laenor is a step toward embracing duty (i.e., a fallen domino in the series of events that propel her toward where she ends up in 2x08, completely swallowed up by duty). all i meant to say is that rhaenyra is trying to balance love and duty (harwin and laenor), but doing so unsuccessfully because love and duty cannot simultaneously exist (laenor says as much during his conversation with rhaenyra in 1x07). i think rhaenyra doesn’t marry harwin because by the time their relationship develops, it’s too late. the way i imagine it is that harwin and rhaenyra’s relationship quickly developed after criston left her for alicent on the night of the wedding. rhaenyra basically has no one at this point, considering criston abandoned her, and alicent calls rhaenyra “stepdaughter,” rejecting her as a friend. then, once rhaenyra realized she and laenor couldn’t produce heirs, she looked to harwin for comfort and coincidentally he could also give her children. i think rhaenyra’s relationship to harwin was complex, shrouded in secrecy and compensation for what rhaenyra actually wants, but he did give her her sons, so i think she did love him as much as she could. basically, yes, rhaenyra is shirking duty, but in a way that is forcing her more toward it. also, i think we’re giving these characters a little too much credit; rhaenyra doesn’t know she exists in the story she exists in, she doesn’t have the foresight to understand the consequences of her impulsive actions. i love rhaenyra but a part of her character is that she is impulsive and entitled and viserys didn’t properly prepare her for her role
continued from this post
I... don't want to fight. You've been very polite but I feel like I'm going to get annoyed and/or sound rude just in general.
I don't agree with you on most of what you said. In fact, I feel like you're purposely misconstruing or misrepresenting the facts/scenes.
I dont think Rhaenyra is having any fight between Duty vs Love. In fact, out of all the characters, Rhaenyra is second in the scale on the side of, Fuck Duty, It Doesn't Affect ME or It Shouldn't. Second only to Daemon but he has little to none anyway. As the show has decided, its Rhaenyra vs Alicent and Alicent is Duty while Rhaenyra is not. She's 'Love' in this scenario, she's Privilege, She's Liberation. In our eyes, the Modern Lens, we see her as Liberated, but at the cost of everyone else around her, and to her own detriment at times.
Marrying Laenor wasn't her choice! I feel like you keep saying that even though its not true. She was forced into it by Viserys, and thats where her Liberation ends, at her father's favor. She gets to do what she likes, because Viserys is indulgent and a bad father. And he had to do that because she was pushing the limits of her freedom, refused to pick a husband on her Marriage Tour and then that Brothel Scandal forced his hand. Because before, as frustrated as he was, he was letting her stew on the decision. Its the fact that no one would want her now that she 'debased' herself that forced his hand. The Velaryons were a great choice! But she didn't make it. She even tried to get Daemon to run off with her! The only thing she could do was run, but if not with Daemon than what's the point?
And I think I've figured out the answer to my question, she was still so infatuated with Daemon that she wasn't thinking about Harwin. It's only after Daemon leaves her to her fate, one he led her down by purposely ruining her reputation but he was too late or underestimated how much Viserys didn't want him on the Throne. So he runs off, in the show they have Laena, actress aged up, run after him and make her a second choice/lesser. In the books he runs to her (Laena) defense against marrying a Braavosi Sealord. But it's after she loses Daemon and runs off Criston that she finds a new 'love'.
And on the subject of Cole, he didn't 'leave her' like this is a simple situation. She took advantage of his infatuation, urged him to break his Oath, and then told him he was just something fun. She could have explained to him running off was so stupid and breaking the Chastity Oath was not the end, but she laughed at him! Its how she spoke to him, proving he and his sacrifices were worthless that destroyed the relationship. Let's not forget he was about to kill himself During That Wedding! Alicent convincing him his life and Knighthood was more than Chasity isn't really 'leaving her at the Wedding'. It feels like you're minimizing his pain and his whole situation.
Not to mention Alicent's! Alicent didn't reject Rhaenyra as a friend, this did not start at the Wedding. Alicent standing up for herself shouldn't be diminished like this. Lets not forget, Rhaenyra ended it when Alicent was forced to marry Viserys, because of Duty. Rhaenyra has a large tendency of not understanding or empathizing with others' struggles, sacrifices or problems. Alicent married her father because of Duty, she is crying and Rhaenyra puts the blame at her feet. Alicent hears horrible rumors and asks Rhaenyra directly, not just believing others, and asks if she needs help. Is your Uncle, a man grown, hurting you? And Rhaenyra lies! And it takes Alicent's father away! And after that Viserys still sends Rhaenyra Moontea! He doesn't believe her, and yet he sends Otto away! For telling the truth! And Alicent knows. Her father is gone, her husband will shut the mouths of people telling the truth and her friend will unflinchingly lie to her and sacrifice her, Alicent, for her own impulsive wants. Alicent is alone.
Rhaenyra wasn't alone, but I understand why she would feel betrayed in that moment. But Viserys has always chosen Rhaenyra and hidden her misconduct, Laenor and her have an agreement - her husband is good to her, he listens, he holds her as an equal or superior- his family is on her side now, cold as it may have been, she didn't want Alicent, she didn't care about Criston Cole and Daemon might be the only thing she lost. But in the books she didn't, in the books she gained a female conspirer. Her and Laena loved each other! In the books I'd argue marrying Laenor gave her more.
But implying Laenor and her were 'really' trying for a child is kinda laughable to me. Jacaerys was born that year, and in ye olden days you would just have to wait to see if you missed your period so how long did they even wait before running into Harwin's arms? My question was never about their relationship per se, I'm not really positive about it, personally.
And on Rhaenyra in 2xo8, it doesn't feel like she's falling into Duty, it feels like she's falling into Religious Fanaticism. Fanaticism that's painting her as a Saint. The Prince That Was Promised actually, the Uniter of a Split Realm. Which isn't too far from 'Valyrians are better than Common Man, Dragonlords are Gods' something that's pushed Daemon and Her to acting even more recklessly and indulgently and offensively. She's better than this, Better than Duty, She can't be Wrong.
And you're last point, no she doesn't know she's part of a story but she knows she's part of a Society. She knows what the Realm wants, what every women goes through. At least every noble women who does no labor outside the birthing bed. I'm actually unsure what you mean by that. What part of knowing the story changes her actions? Or what am I saying thats giving her too much credit?
She's a princess, who she marries is important, it needs thought. She has to know how easy it is to be labeled a 'whore' in their society, and how that destroys her reputation, something that is important in their society. And when she's named Heir, she has to know the world will fight her on it, but she has a consistent belief that if Viserys Says So than its fine. She has the same belief as an Adult but even Rhaenys tries to tell her she has a Steep Uphill Climb. If nothing, she knows having bastards is a 'Sin'. But she doesn't follow that religion, sure but Society hates them. It looks bad on her and again, reputation matters so much to them. Its the prevailing idea that she's above that, that her reputation doesn't matter, that the thoughts of others don't matter because they'll just fall in line. But how true is that, and how much does she believe that? She runs after her son mutilates her brother. She hides away after her and Daemon marry like a week after their spouses die, her's suspiciously. But why? Viserys is on her side, and he forgives them for eloping, doesn't annul their marriage. If she's not scared of her reputation, why run?
I agree with your last statement, "part of her character is that she is impulsive and entitled and viserys didn’t properly prepare her for her role" but that wasn't my question, none of this was. I hope I didn't offend you, but I think we're on two different sides on some of these debates

I wanna say thank you for being such one of the 7 vocal Cole Stans in the world. I admit that being in this fandom at times can be a very frustrating experience because there’s so many great and intelligent people in the hotd fandom who are eloquent but Cole, despite being such a rich character and no more morally reprehensible than the white men on the TV, is consistently written off or deemed unlikable by so many people that it honestly gets ridiculous.
I also find your takes about race with regards to him just amazing, AWOIAF is a very white series with a very white fandom so to finally see race engaged with critically albeit imperfectly in HOTD and to see you actually engage with it is sooo refreshing
aaa thankyou so much !! 🥰🥰🥰 + yes i hate when people are like oh this is the ‘pick your favourite war criminal’ fandom we all love morally complex pathetic fucked up people here then say wellll daemon and aemond are funny and interesting unlike criston its got nothing to do with morality i just hate that loser .. criston iss funny and interesting + they do funny and interesting things with him people who already hate him just dont listen to anything he says. hes one of the maybe three characters who got an arc last season. why make the show exponentially lamer for yourself by forcing yourself to only think and feel ‘i cant wait for this guy to die. wheres cregan stark’ any time cristons onscreen hes a great character

EPISODE 8 - THOUGHTS
Tumblr media
I dont think this was Ryan's intention but by attempting to make Aemond seem more deranged and 'humanise' everyone else, the show has accidentally made Aemond seem the most rational on team Green LMAO. Like? Yea no like, this episode - no baby g I get you. What the fuck is going on?
Also likeeee why is he the only one making sense? Like no I think he actually was kinda justified in being really upset - obviously not to the degree of.... well uhhh.... mass murder... BUT in terms of being fed up with Alicent. No he is totally right. Alicent was the one who incited this war, she indoctrinated him and Aegon from birth to fight it, to go against Rhaenyra... and now that he is basically going up against like seven other dragons, he has NO choice but ask Helaena to fight because??? What else is he going to do? Sit around and die? And Alicent is just lowkey like "oh well there is another way" and it's like well... no the fuck there isn't girl. And you know what? Even though I get why Helaena refuses, Aemond DOES also have a point that - from his perspective, she has to take action as Queen and show a united front. He is basically fighting the war alone. So like? Girl I'd be mad as hell too if my sister had a big ass dragon and she refused to help. He definitely could have gone about it a different way, like uh... not assaulting her. But in principle he was fully justified in asking her. I mean look if it were me I'd be ready to SUIT UP AND SAY SIR YES SIR. but I'm a slut for the man so....
Tumblr media
I think accidentally the show has become less tragic now that they continue to centre the show as Rhaenyra and Alicent's story over Rhaenyra and her siblings. I don't really want to see Alicent remorseful yet because... that's going to take away from her story overall and her arc when the dance is finally done? It was tragic in the books when Alicent's final wish was to be able to see her sons and daughter again. Like... I just... I mean okay hbo.
Criston Cole ate this episode. I loved his speech, I thought that whole scene was perfect. And honestly? Yes slay, finally he is cooking because I wanna die too rn King.
Helaena... I'm not sure what the fuck is going on with her and Daemon? I avoided those leaks and yea... that was weird as hell. Like even his face was like? What the fuck are YOU doing here? We've really spent no time developing her powers at all... and it's irritating to me. Because why would she be connected to the weirwood? Is this purely for the fact that she'll haunt Aemond once he gets to Harrenhal? Or.... was that just something fun to throw in there?
The CGI on the white walkers was.... I mean... clearly all the budget been going to the Velaryons wigs cause they have been EATING it up.
Speaking of that I love Rhaena so fucking much. She's become my new favourite on the Blacks. However not showing her claiming sheepstealer is a criminal offence.
Jace was eating again. He spoke nothing but facts and I get why he is mad too.
Ulf is fucking annoying.
Daenerys has always BEEN that bitch and will always be that bitch. So clock that.
Alys is??? Again... helping the Blacks? So... what does that mean for her relationship with Aemond? I guess... well, I guess I can only assume she'll be working to lead him to his doom, right?
Rhaenyra slayed a little but I hate this cult leader thing. It's so weird, I want my rage filled mother who mourns her son.
Aegon... I miss him for some fucking reason. But weird mention of his dick being chopped off.
Still no sign of Maelor.
Daeron yea yea I know everyone is quaking but it doesn't really matter since? I mean... this is unpopular opinion - but I'd rather he be cut then bring him in and have him be super irrelevant and take up precious screentime.
The pirate shit was fun, but three whole scenes? Again? THREE ENTIRE SCENES... when we still need to wrap up major plot points? Couldn't that have been achieved in two scenes?
Allyn ate Coryls up and I'm glad about it. That's what you get for being a deadbeat dad and cheating on your wife.
Love Addam, whom also ate Ulf up. I absolutely am pro Addam atm.
Baela being useless again.... which disappoints me... but at least she got another scene with Jace, instead of giving her an arc that explores the complexities of her relationship with Daemon.
And well...... Simon? His ass is cute and quaint.
Anyway, a part of me is lowkey excited to see Aemond fuck shit up. I honestly. I know I talk about what a shit bitch he is but, girl I LOVE HIM. Like LMAOOOO his ass so crazy and mad and as the youngest sibling myself, I lowkey get why he is so fucked off with his useless ass family. I don't blame him at this point because if my mother did that shit to me after priming me for 18 to go to war and now she is basically like 'oh no I'd rather go skip in the fields' girl.... it would be on sight.
Tumblr media
That being said this was a solid episode with some beautiful moments. And as always 99% of the actors were incredible, the score and the cinematography was unbelievable. And if this were episode 8 out of 10 I would be UNBELIEVABLY excited. But because it's the finale... I feel a tad underwhelmed.
I am going to go back and rewatch this season to check in and see how it flows. But yea, it is missing that magic season 1 had. I'm not sure what it is.

The Queens Secret - Queen Alicent x F!Stark!Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: Smut Smut Smut, Domme Alicent, Facer riding, Oral (Alicent) Thigh riding, slapping, crispy cole
...
For everyone who knew of Queen Alicent Hightower, she was a woman of the seven, never failing to do her duty that was expected of her. However the Queen had her secrets, one of which she made sure no one would know, not even her sworn protector Ser Criston Cole knew.
Queen Alicent had a secret lover, her dearest lady in waiting, Y/n Stark. You are a noble woman of house Stark, Cregan Stark’s older sister who was sent to be a lady in waiting for Queen Alicent.
You had never expected to be where you are. Currently under the queens desk as your tongue graciously laps at her dripping cunt.
She has the bottom of her night gown pulled up so she could play with your hair and speak praises to you as you stared up at her with your big doe eyes.
“Just like that little pet, you are doing so well for your queen. If you make me come on your tongue thrice, I may let you cum tonight,” she says as she rakes her fingers through your hair. The praise and knowledge that she may finally let you come after the hours of edging she had already previously done makes you move your tongue to her clit.
You both stop, a knock at her door making you both freeze. She quickly throws her nightgown over you and shushes you before beckoning whomever inside.
“Your grace, I have come to let you know the King has bid you a goodnight,” Ser Cristons voice reaches your ears and being the naughty little minx you are, you continue your assault on her clit, bringing a finger to her weeping hole and entering her warm cavern.
“I-I wish the king a good night as well, th-” she has to hold in a groan as she feels your finger hit the spongy spot inside of her that makes her toes curl, she bites her lip.
“Are you alright, your grace?” Cole asks, stepping further into the room.
“I am perfectly fine Ser Criston,  but if that is a-all you wished to let me know then you may go now,”
He bows to her and walks back out of her room, making sure to close the door behind him once more.
Once he is out the door she swiftly pulls her night gown back up and yanks you away from her.
“Naughty little sluts dont get to come, you tried to make me look as though i was a fool infront of ser criston,” she smirks, “On the bed, naked, I shall teach little whores who dont know how to act properly how to use their manners,”
You bite your lip as you slowly strip infront of her grace, soon you are nude and laying on your back in her beautifully soft bed. She walks over you and begins to straddle you.
“Little whore should learn their mouths are only for pleasing their queens,” she says as she now hovers above your mouth, “you will not touch me, and you will not get off, do you understand me little whore?”
You nod your head up at her, earning a small slap to the face, you swallow thickly, the pain feels so delicious.
“Yes, your grace, I understand.”
She lowers herself onto your mouth, beginning to grind herself upon your face, your nose bumping into her clitorus as she hangs on to the headboard of her bed.
It takes all your willpower not to grab onto her hip and bring her harder down on your face or to rub your own clit. You mustn't upset her grace again or else she may never let you come.
You begin to dart your tongue out, adding pleasure to your lover. Her moans fill you to disobey her as you reach out your arms to grab a hold of her hips and pause her movements. Her being lost into her own pleasure couldn't care less at the moment that you have disobeyed her.
You sit back up and bring her bare cunt to your bare thigh and begin to move her hips along, the friction of her clit against your thigh, drenching it in her slick making you move your own hands down to your clit, moving slow, tight circles.
You move your other hand from her hips to her neck and pull her down into a hard, teeth clashing kiss. You glide your tongue into her mouth, tasting her and the sweet wine she had been drinking before she had beckoned you into her room an hour ago.
You both stop kissing, your moaning grows louder as you both finish, thighs shaking and as you come down from your orgasmisms. Once Alicent’s head clears from the fog, she grabs your cheeks between her thumb and fingers.
“Naughty little wolf, however I must forgive you for the orgasm you have given me. But if you disobey your queen again, the punishment will be far worse than my cunt suffocating you,” she says as she kisses your forehead and lips once again.
“Yes your grace,” you smile up at her.

alternative alicole reading: they're not just lancelot and guenevere, they're also don quixote and dulcinea
if you are not familiar with the story of don quixote, it is a spanish book that parodies the typical tales of knighthood of northern europe (such as the arthurian legends or la chanson de roland) under the premise that "such a story could never be told here, because people are down to earth and don't care for honor or morals here". within this context, don quixote is an aging minor noble who sets out on a quest to embody the ideals of knighthood in a world where it is impossible to do so and as a person for whom it is impossible to do so
personally i find that criston's character as he is written in the show also explores these themes even if a lot is different. the worst parts of himself are constantly spilling through the cracks in the armor that he hopes to contain them with (plus he's dornish! dorne is based on southern spain iirc as george rr martin said). but of course criston is not only don quixote as he does have many qualities of the lancelot archetype as well such as the youth and the unmatched physical prowess
now as for don quixote's "lady", dulcinea. dulcinea is a peasant woman who has been abused and mistreated all her life, she is seen as worthless and as a "ruined woman" as a result of the abuse she has endured. but to don quixote, due to his "madness", she is a lady worth serving, worth worshipping and worth dying for. they are not in love, she thinks he's crazy, but it does move her in the end to have one person in the world who thinks of her as valuable after the way she's been treated so they have a platonic relationship that is quite special
i am an alicole shipper in the sense that i love their complex dynamic, and i love both characters very much, but i don't think alicent's view of criston is like guenevere's view of lancelot, i think her character is a mix of guenevere and dulcinea vibes and her perception of criston is deeply complex but leans more towards "dear friend i am fond of and find physically crazy attractive" than "love of my life that i would move heaven and earth to be with". he's the one who's been there for her through it all treating her like she's worthy of worship in a world that told her that she didn't matter and that she was born to be used and dismissed. but even that didn't protect him from also acting dismissive towards her in the last episode. even that didn't stop him from committing a murder in front of her "for her sake" that made her scared of what he might do next. i think they're both characters that wish they were nobler than they are but ultimately they are just extremely human and flawed no matter how hard they fight against it
i've seen a lot of disappointment over how alicole developed this season by people who expected a more noble, more romantic version of their relationship when it finally came to pass and i think that no one feels that way more strongly than alicent and criston themselves. but imo it didn't turn out that way because it couldn't turn out that way for them because of who they are and the world they live in. but i still find their attempts to live up to these standards impressive and commendable and i think that they also see that in one and another and is a reason why they love each other (even if i dont personally think that they are in love with each other). ironically it's precisely these attempts to be more than they are that often get them so much hate from the fandom and the other characters because it is percieved as them being hypocrates by believing in one thing and then doing another. which is a valid reading and something i think they are aware of and eats them up inside
tldr i like their bond for what it is even if its not the perfect ideal of romance, i still think it's beautiful in its own way and i am glad that they had each other through all these years in a situation where they did not really have any alternatives of others to turn to. i don't know if any of this makes any sense to anyone who hasn't read don quixote in spanish but it makes sense to me <3 so i hit post

So rhae has a crush on reader ... DELICIOUS
So now we have ali, rhae, the foot man and harwin im our bag
I dont remember if you especified if she fights (with a sword and stuff) but if she was, she would be very present in the boys lives even more
As the boys grow older (in their child state aka pre-maimed aemond) she would spend time training with alicents children.
The reason of the bullying was because of the love their dear aunt held for some of them and the disregard towards another
Rhaenyra is always trying to be with you someway or another
One time she tried to seduce you amd you didnt even spare her a glance (daemon tought this to be funny)
Lucerys wants to be like you
You always baby your sons so much, you always run to kiss their cheeks
You keep harwin around as a political investment, you want the strong connections (he knows this, but he stays anyways)
You now are more dominant in life, you refuse to let someone take the lead
Otto secretly likes you (youre just as smart as him fr)
This is just my fan made headcannons in a way...i just like this series so much
Btw who do ypu picture as y/n, like your personal view?
Hi
Rhaenyra had a crush on the wife of her son's father, she's very 🤡 (like girl, why did you sleep with her husband instead of confessing that you were jealous?) but I still love her 🤪
Reader: *breathes*
All:
Tumblr media
I never said it in any post but I'm sure Reader knows how to fight. I find it hard to believe that Corlys didn't teach her daughter to defend herself against her. She knows how to handle the sword because he and her uncles taught her how to use it. She used to fight with Laenor.
Even so, Reader prefers knives because they are easier to hide and if someone attacks her, no one expects her to have her weapons hidden.
I have the headcanon that when she was little and she accompanied her father and her uncles to sail, a sailor taught her to throw knives.
I can definitely see Reader on the parade ground accompanying the children in her lessons. I would be aware that Criston Cole does not overextend them.
I CAN TOTALLY SEE the reason for the bullying being the fight for Reader's love. I don't feel like she disowns Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey but it is evident that she loves the green children more and that she is more affectionate with them.
I really love your headcanons. Rhaenyra always tries to find an excuse to be with you, she looks forward to every time Viserys orders family dinners because that's the only way you'll agree to have dinner with her and she also takes advantage of your affection for Jace to get him to invite you. to spend time with them.
Rhaenyra wanting to seduce you and Alicent looking at everything furious. Larys is calm because she knows that the princess has no chance with you. And it's true, there's no way you're going to look at Rhaenyra that way again...It's more likely that something will happen between you and Daemon (and that he seems like a hateful man to you) before you have something with Rhaenyra.
Lucerys wanting to be like Reader 🥺🥺 He admires you so much because you keep smiling and being kind to people despite all the whispers from court
Your children are your greatest joy. You love teaching them new things and sharing your family customs with them. It is not a secret that you are a loving mother, you are always happy to hug them or kiss their cheek 🥰🥰
Harwin knows that you will never love him like before, but he is satisfied with being able to continue by your side and not hate him. He is content to be the father of your children.
DEFINITELY OTTO LIKES READER. Well, he doesn't agree with the relationship you have with his daughter (because he is a man of faith) but he likes you and you serve him. He notices how you protect his daughter and his grandchildren, how Aegon listens to you, and how you make people start thinking of Aegon as heir to the throne. You win support for the greens.
I see Reader as someone smart. She always knows what to say to make people happy and to make them trust her, that's why she was always very loved at court.
She also lets people see her as weak. Although she knows how to fight from the affair of Rhaenyra and Harwin the image of Reader. She takes advantage of that and makes the court feel sorry for her so she gets people to start disowning Rhaenyra and Harwin.
People see Reader as a nice and kind person, which shee is but sometimes she is nice to court people that she doesn't really like just to have allies. Larys is the first to notice, she begins to notice how the wrinkles around your eyes aren't as deep when your smile isn't sincere or how your fake laugh tends to be shorter.
By the way, anon, if you want, the next time you write to me, you can choose an emoji (it can be anything except 👾 or 🌺) so I can identify you 😊
I hope you are well anon and that you are happy with my answers 🥰❤️

Crumbs Asks:
How would each Team Green character react to being rear ended while driving?
Note: This was very fun! Thank you! @ewanmitchellcrumbs
Aegon: “Do you know who I am!?” type reaction. Already has dings on his car from reckless driving and proceeds to blame all of those on this one accident. Calls Alicent and she automatically assumes it’s his fault … it usually is.
Aemond: Scarily calm. Leverages connections and status to make the situation even more of a nightmare than it is.
Alicent: Usual procedure except she is visibly more anxious and shaken.
Criston: On a good day, usual procedure. On a bad day.. good luck.
Helaena: How do I say? Best possible person to rear end. Extremely patient. Seamless exchange of information and insurance. Depending on the severity, y’all would get lunch after.
Otto: Exchange of insurance and information. Would maybe even call the police if needed. The worst part is being scolded like a child.
TARGTOWERS CARS: Aegon -> Aemond -> Helaena

i dont know about cars but these all seem expensive and scary to hit

HOTD S1 Rewatch
Ep 6 - The Princess and the Queen
Tumblr media
Omg I love my Queen so much! Look at her smile 😔
First of all... How TF did Alicent find out so quickly that Nyra gave birth?
Mere seconds after pushing Joffrey out Nyra is told that Alicent wants to see him
At 2:38 she pushes him out. At 3:20 she's told by a maid that A wants to see the baby... Like.... How??
You can see only from a couple of minutes that Nyra already loves her baby boy! 😭😭😭
A is sooo evil for doing that to Nyra! Oh you're going to the Seven Hells for that!
Laenor is so confused but he's got good intentions lol
When he says 'I thought we were past this' it implies A did this with Jace and Luke as well...
The way Nyra is struggling to get up those stairs...Alicent I am in your walls!
Also I don't understand her saying 'you may get one who looks like you' like this baby isn't three minutes old!
I mean I know why she said it but damn, let him develop some features!
HARWIN THE MAN YOU ARE! 😫
Baby Vermax is so cute!
DRACARYS! Poor goat though
It's so obvious that Aegon was the one behind the Pink Dread. Alicent blames Nyra's boys but like Luke is like 5 maybe and Jace 7/8. Your son is the oldest one so shouldn't he know better than to bully his own brother.. Oh that's right he doesn't because you let him bully his brother.. And you call yourself a mother 🙄
DREAMFYRE! THE OG MOTHER OF DRAGONS!
Helaena my little cutie pie... You deserve a better mother btw
'Your obsession with those beasts goes beyond understanding'
He's a Targaryen and his brother bullies him for the fact that he doesn't have one, ofc he wants a dragon, Alicent, pls just say you dont understand anything about the House you married into and leave
'It's a wonder to me their eggs ever hatched' Why? Their mother is a Targaryen....? So what is your point exactly? Oh she's such a bitch I can't stand her!
Like. Your kids are half Targaryen. Nyra's kids are half Targaryen. Also all of Nyra'a kids had their dragons hatch to them.
None of Alicent's did. They all had to claim dragons. Which there's nothing wrong with that it's just why are you talking such bs?
God I wish they kept Rhaenys's hair black. That way you could have plausible deniability for why Nyra's kids have dark hair, smh.
'I have to believe that in the end honor and decency will prevail'. Literally three seconds ago you were talking shit about her out in the open halls... Right, decency, sure...
Alicent yelling at her son and getting in his face - someone give her mother of the year award...
Caraxes and Vhagar having a cute little dance in the sky, oh the foreshadowing 🙃
CRISTON COLE YOU PETTY IDIOT! HARWIN SHOULD'VE SMASHED YOUR FACE THE WAY YOU DID TO JOFFREY!
Harwin, you're so sexy, if only you lived longer 😔😔
Omg Jace's little face, he's so cute little baby 😭
Why is Criston soo agressive? He's manhandling a litteral child? Like bsffr 🙄
The way Harwin holds Jace's face and encourages him - I'm fine.. I'm fine 🙂🙂
'You forget yourself Ser that is the Prince' as if you weren't encouraging Aegon to attack and harm Jace, who's also a Prince and in line for the throne... Right
I know Harwin punching Clumbo in the face was not a good move politically but he was sooo hot doing that ughh😫 I need to stop
Nyra has such a sweet relationship with her maids. You can see they genuinely care for her😭
We stan Elinda Massey in this house!
The way Nyra was looking up at Laenor as he drunkenly talks about the Triarchy, bye! 💀
The way Daemon smiled at Laena when she walked to sit beside him ughh he loved her I know he did!
Alicent pointing out Nyra's milk leaking was such a bitchy move! 🙄
Viserys I need you to grow a spine, you are the King not Alicent. If he said so Helaena would've married Jace and Alicent couldn't do shit about it.
Larys is such a slimy shady rat I hate just seeing him on my screen!
Laena, bestie, you truly died a dragonrider's death! RIP you were a true girlboss 😔
Vhagar hesitating to burn Laena ughhh my feels!
Harwin saying goodbye to the boys and Nyra holding back tears.... Ughh my heart!
I don't even wanna talk about Harwin dying... You're telling me a man called Breakbones couldn't break a door. I call bs on that.
He's alive and well he's alive and well he's-
I'm fine fine fine fine I'm fine 🙃🙃

omg i got so happy when i saw u watch hotd as well bc i have no one to ramble about about both bsd and hotd 😭😭 anyway something that came to me was the idea of a s1 alicole dynamic between dazai and reader. im not really happy w what they’ve done with alicent and cristons relationship in the second season nor do i ship them (rhaenicent truther here teehee) but i thought their season 1 dynamic was so intriguing. so maybe pm!dazai accidentally slips up to reader the first time he’s super, super drunk about mori killing the og pm boss (can’t remember his name) and he panics when he remembers in the morning. its basically a death sentence for him, and he’s even more afraid because of readers reaction; they did not say much, but teared up as alicent did when criston told her of rhaenyras affair with him. so he panics and it’s the first time he’s about to commit suicide, and of course not the last, but reader stops him from doing it. its the thing that seals his loyalty to her. because it’s not going to be his last attempt - but it’s something about how they stop him out of the kindness of their heart, not because they had to, and the fact that it’s the closest he’s ever gotten to succeeding. and from there there’s this unspoken companionship between them. they’re the only person who calls him osamu, not dazai. he’s always, always near them, sitting next to them at PM meetings. like a dog, a loyal hound. and it makes his leaving all the more painful because it severs that strange connection they have, and reader is so confused and disillusioned because he’s the only one that has consistently stuck by them and defended them if need be. i loveeee the idea of dazai with an alicent!coded reader, always committing themself to duty and sacrifice for the port mafia because it’s all they’ve ever known and all they’ll ever have.
sorry if this seems ooc for him, im only just getting back into bsd😅but yeahhh
oh my god.
nonnie.
NONNIE.
you have given me a fucking idea. i'm not saying anything more than this but you have GIVEN ME AN IDEA that is going to be implemented into pmreader universe.
BECAUSE NOW THAT YOU SAY IT ??? PMREADER IS LOWKEY IS SOOOO ALICENT CODED ??? she is so committed to her duty to the pm and to mori, would sacrifice anything for it. resents mori for putting her in this position but still cares so deeply for him ....
nonnie i wish i could tell you about the idea you've just given to me but it's going to be written soon and you'll have to see it then i want to surprise you i dont think this is ooc at all in fact i literally can weave something similar perfectly into pmreader universe au i'm so fucking excited
