Guys, guys, guys!!!
Stop doing whatever it is that you are doing and go watch "The Judge from Hell".
I went hunting for it after I saw a clip from it and I'm hooked! I usually can't sit through shows at all but I'm chomping at the bits to know what happens next and I'm actually watching the show instead of reading the whole story from a wiki.
It's got 14 episodes, about an hour each. I started *yesterday* and I'm already on episode five, despite classes and other obligations. I've got an exam tomorrow and who cares?!
The acting is gorgeous. Even the 1st grader was awesome! And there's this guy with like a multiple personality disorder (don't worry, not a spoiler, it's obvious within the first 5 minutes he's introduced ) and they are *awesome*.
Go watch it! Go watch it right now!

판도라: The Box of Yujin (Chapter 1)
It was a perfect afternoon in that church in the city of Seoul. A scorching but at the same time pleasant sun, with a gentle breeze that reflected once again that love was in the air.
The priest, after all the previous ceremony and all the procedures necessary to marry Mijoo and Seonwoo, was ready to confirm the marriage of the couple who went from being a normal couple to becoming married.
Then he said: "I pronounce you husband and wife." Thus making official the marriage of Baek Mijoo with Yoon Seonwoo.
At the same moment that the priest finished saying those words, a sharp shot was heard in the distance that resonated throughout the church due to the excellent acoustics it had.
A shot that seemed to have two possibilities:
It could be a shot in the air or perhaps it was just a shot so but so precise and coldly calculated to be able to get rid of a target cleanly and quickly.
A shot at a deadly point so that the death of the target shot was imminent.
A simple shot, but one that would bring out a feeling of worry, anxiety, and mystery. Why right there? Why exactly after the priest confirmed the newlyweds? Why in a country as safe as South Korea, and even more so, in an exclusive area of Seoul?
These are questions that many of the attendees at the event had.
That shot that was mentioned was not for Mijoo, nor for her husband; although all the guests turned to see the newlyweds, they were still intact and this increased the state of confusion and uncertainty among the guests.
Outside the church, just a few meters away from them, was Baek Yujin looking at her childhood friend, Ahn Jinsoul, who was on top of her.
Still shocked and worried about what she had just seen, she asks her: "Are you crazy? Why did you decide to do this crazy thing?" After reprimanding her, she proceeds to hug her tightly while crying inconsolably after seeing her lying on the floor.
Yujin, without much expression on her face, looked with total detachment at that woman she loved unbridledly crying for her; she only felt worse after seeing Jinsoul lamenting her impulsive behavior.
On the floor lays the gun that Yujin would have used, that gun that was equipped with a capacity of 10 shots, but that she had spent most of them on practice targets, thus leaving the last one for the moment when her sister said yes and confirmed her relationship with her new husband, Yoon Seonwoo.
So, in a desperate attempt to prevent people who might be nearby from seeing them, Jinsoul takes Yujin's body and pushes the gun away with her foot, leaving her shoes and rushing to the nearest hospital.
All the guests inside the church continued to wonder what had happened and, above all, what had been that shot that set off the alarms and exploded the anxiety in that place.
So, once they arrived at the hospital, Jinsoul explained what had happened to the nurse and that is when Yujin began to receive the surgery to remove the bullet that was embedded in her head. Even though it wasn't the place Yujin would have liked, it had left her in a very complicated state, between life and death.
Due to the impact of the bullet in her skull, Yujin would have entered a coma due to open head trauma.
Jinsoul, still in disbelief, couldn't understand that, although she wanted to save her, her efforts were useless.
All her strength to push Yujin and thus prevent her shot from going to her desired head spot and, therefore, Yujin from being in this situation, even knowing that she could receive the stray bullet in her own body; all of that only made her feel that she did not protect her enough.
Slowly she remembered those times of school and university, all those moments that with bitterness and with total pain in her heart were strongly repeated in her already very hurt mind by this "accident".
It did not take long for Yujin's relatives and guests to realize that at Mijoo's wedding there was someone who was not present. Someone who really mattered to be there, since it was clearly explained to Yujin that her absence at Mijoo's wedding would cause a bad image in the Chunhwa Company and that would cause sales and stock prices to fall.
Her mother, without a shred of interest, did not care where that daughter could be, whom she considered an "accident" and a dishonor to the family. An unpleasant nuisance that she was forced to raise against her will.
That daughter that she did not plan to have and that she regrets not having detected earlier in order to avoid, in her words, the birth of the most useless human being that her eyes have ever seen.
Her father, meanwhile, was worried about the numbers that his shares could have and the reputation and image of the company.
He kept asking the assistants and secretaries present about the situation of his company, while cursing inside, wanting to ask Yujin why she decided to do something so "stupid" even though he had made it clear that he didn't want any surprises on her sister Mijoo's wedding day.
It is then that a call arrives at the Gangnam police department, where the fact is reported, which Jinsoul herself confesses in an attack of panic and sadness.
"H-Hello? G-Gangnam Police?" A clear tremor stood out in Jinsoul's already nervous tone of voice.
"Good afternoon, how can we help you?" Hayoung answered, a little surprised by the nervous tone of voice that the person on the phone had.
"I'm at the H-Hospital. The SNU H-Hospital." Jinsoul made clear the place so that the police would go and look for her as quickly as possible.
Even though she hadn't committed the crime, she felt very guilty that everything that had happened was her responsibility.
"SNUH?" "We'll be there in 5 minutes." Hayoung ended the call and ran to see her superior, who was enjoying watching the capital baseball derby, that LG Twins vs Doosan Bears, that game that would decide the course of the Korean Series, the Korean version of the World Series for the MLB.
"Cap, I got a call from SNUH." Hayoung was already putting on her jacket and grabbing all the necessary implements to write down and thus be able to have a good enough view of the case.
"Don't go, let the prosecutors do their job." Kyunsang said with some annoyance, as he watched how his rival team, the LG Twins, had scored a home run that would certify the defeat of his favorite team.
"But Cap... Let me go!" Hayoung was really interested in that mysterious call from that woman who sounded extremely nervous and only wanted the police to intervene as soon as possible.
"If you're so anxious, call the other police officers and go with them." "Although I tell you that it will be difficult to deal with the prosecutors, they will want to steal all the information possible." Kyunsang only kept thinking about that home run by Lee Ju-heon that had decided that his favorite team would have lost a national final against his bitter rival, the one he hated so much with his life, to the point that he fired workers for being on that team.
"Cap... I will do everything right, I promise you." Hayoung smiled and, with adrenaline through the roof, while curiosity spread through every corner of her body, she was ready to leave the Nonhyeon-dong police station with a certain direction: Seoul University Hospital, SNUH.
After a few minutes in which the atmosphere was felt heavier and heavier, to the point that it was unbearable, Jinsoul left a last message to her mother: "Eomma, I have done very wrong... I did everything wrong. "I'm sorry, Eomma, I'm so sorry." The pain in Jinsoul's heart increased and was similar to that of several sharp objects penetrating the most sensitive fiber of her heart without stopping. An inexplicable torture that she did not know how to face, a pain that, coupled with the memories that slowly continued to add to her mind, only served as gasoline for a burning flame of an inexorable torment.
Then after some minutes, Jinsoul received the news from the doctor. Yujin had passed away.
That comatose state that Yujin was in quickly became a preamble to a death sentence that she, months ago, had been eagerly awaiting.
The police had arrived with Hayoung as a guest, as they wanted to gather a lot of information on the case, which would probably fall to their office, given that the case occurred in the Nonhyeon-dong district.
The prosecution would do the same, with the senior prosecutor, Jung Jihun, being in charge of assisting since the crime would have occurred on the same day that his junior, Yoon Seonwoo, would have asked for vacation for his wedding.
Jinsoul couldn't take it anymore and, in the midst of the pain that invades her, she decides to pronounce those words that would sentence her to jail that cold December night.
An afternoon that seemed to be happy and pleasant turned into a tragic scenario of a plan that was already orchestrated and coldly calculated by someone who wanted to leave a message. But... What will that message be? Nobody knew, but what Jinsoul did know is that, after confessing the crime, even if she hadn't done it, she would end up in jail and probably, after the trial, she would remain the rest of her life in those cold four walls, with a cell that would remind her of how Yujin felt all this time when she had confessed her feelings to her, but she never reciprocated them; even so, being friends despite everything.
In a cage where, like Yujin's feelings for her, she would have to be locked up, suffering without knowing what to do about it.

First Impressions
Isn't it interesting that before Do-young and Dong-soo speak another word to each other they study the other's hands? At first I assumed that it was to show them both fidgeting, but we're not here for face value interpretations so let's dig in a little deeper😏. From the very moment that we're introduced to Do-young he is holding a baseball, something that is very symbolic with his past and identity. After all, we literally just saw him use it to kill a fly a few seconds ago, an indication of the killer instinct that he showed even when he was younger. But in this awkward moment of silence Dong-soo is seen caressing his wedding ring, a symbol of his marriage and love for his wife, which we see later in the episode when he threatens her co-worker for sexually assaulting her. These two items are very important to our characters but why does it intrigue the other? Perhaps we'll see Do-young use Dong-soo's martial relationship to to lure him away from his morals and deeper into his corrupt world? Perhaps, we'll see Dong-soo adapt Do-young's violent antics as he progresses up the criminal ladder? I guess we'll find out soon enough!
