Random question about Welsh (from a beginner) - so in British (and Australian and Aotearoan) English, "chips" can mean either hot fresh chips, or packet crisps. Is the same true of "sglodion", or does Welsh differentiate?

It differentiates! Sglodion is chips as in fish and chips (the abbreviation for which is sgod a sglods, btw, which I adore). Chips as in "a packet of crisps" is creision.
