Novelty Artisan Soaps

These crafty shot glasses are actually soap. Though they may resemble ice cubes, those are soap also. The entire thing is soap.

This is such an interesting concept, it is surprising not many more are doing this.

This takes creativity to the edge.

So catchy and creative.

How epic is the concept of a Soap Bar with a play on the word “bar?” It looks like actual shot glasses.

You don’t have to be unhappy to be a genius creative. But you do have to k is how to be unhappy. The story of how I know this and some happiness - or should I say unhappiness hacks!

All it takes is a spark to set off a blaze of creativity, and no one knows that better than our first guest of the year, visual artist Sharon Burton. As a creative coach, her specialty lies in helping people reclaim their creative lives, which I think is a fantastic way to start off 2023.

Sharon talked about her coaching practice Spark Your Creative, described the different courses and services she offers, and spoke on how using joy as resilience is a key part of her work. Sharon also talked about growing up in Philly, working in public health, and shared how her time in Atlanta opened her eyes to her true calling.

Quick tip from the art/lit world

Drop the need to impress and shock people with themes or bad words and porn. Not only because of how deeply desensitized our society is: drama, horror, gore, sex, drugs & rock'n'roll and similar genres or other tragic, violent themes do not hold any inherent value, not on their own.

The reason a director from Czechoslovakia will talk about the horror of war using pigeons on a mushroom trip and it's going to be exceptional is because it makes sense to him first. I can use all the same elements he did and my work will be shit. There is always reason and context for creation. Reason and context. Why and how you make what you make.

The worst thing you can do as an artist or writer is try to impress others. It will show. Mature people can spot that miles away. Drop the hard themes you know nothing about. Stop listening to the internet 13-year-old kids who never leave their rooms trying to help you (or charge you to help) you write about such a complex and stigmatized theme as drug abuse, for example.

Go inwards for wisdom. Go to your own heart chambers, be quiet and listen. It will tell you what you need to write about. Be honest, raw and wild. But first, try to understand what those words really mean in the current context.

I've been rewatching Supernatural lately, which means it's time for

SPN!au Teen Wolf

Stiles is a gruff, anxious mess, driving Roscoe down the road toward another backwater town with some suspicious activity, slapping his step-brother, Scott, every time he reaches over to change the radio station. He's trying to keep one eye on the road and one eye on the sleeping angel in the backseat - angels aren't supposed to need sleep - but Scott keeps giving him sympathetic glances, so he must not be doing a very good job. It's just... As nice as it is that Isaac is apparently back and sticking around for a while, he wasn't exactly in great shape when he burst into the library of the bunker yesterday and he hasn't been awake long enough to give them an explanation yet. Stiles drags a hand down his face and pulls into the next service station, grunting in thanks when Scott offers to run in and get the coffee this time. He waits until Scott's inside - already apparently charming the tired cashier with his friendly smile and floppy hair despite the hour - before snaking his hand between the front seats to jostle Isaac. It's definitely not endearing at all that Isaac grumbles a little to himself and curls closer to the window before opening one big blue eye at him and any thoughts to the contrary are getting shoved right down into the place he keeps all the other ones their dad would kill him for. In the backseat, Isaac smacks his lips together and sits up, face immediately serious despite the drool still drying on his cheek.
