My beautiful Cassiopeia, the dragon of spring!! I’m sooo proud of how she turned out honestly!

She sat on my desk for over a year waiting for me to complete her. At the time she was a monochrome white and black dragon but I just couldn’t find a fitting way to bring her to completion! So I started from scratch!

I am so pleased with how this is turning out! Though I did realise after I’d already complete the shell that I’d accidentally made the wrong size, oh no! I have enough white handspun to make up the correct larger size, so I’m just gonna have to make the small snail body using my christmas advent handspuns. Snail party incoming 🐌 🐌 🐌

Little snail friend I made for my friend @samethstarr a couple months ago.

Used the Crafty Intentions Small Snails pattern and somehow ended up much larger than expected. Came out great!

this pattern has so many steps for wires but it doesnt seem to consider the people who prefer floppy stuffed animals. for starters i have no wire, but i dont want it to be posable or forced up. i want it to be loose and completely floppy. it can just lay down but not stand on its own, and thats fine.

Been having some wrist pain so I borrowed my sister @mangled-wings ‘s fancy medical wrist brace. Thought it would be fun to try out some more wrist intensive activities, including drawing and crochet. It was a weird experience but not a bad one. It wasn’t as hard to do some things as I thought it would be

Every time I get imaging, that shows exactly why I am in so much pain. I feel stupidly relieved that it is not just in my head. Why can't I stop gaslighting myself? I get so upset when the medical person says stuff like fine we will waste $1200 medical dollars and do an MRI but really even if the find something they will not do surgery (looking at my fat). But the freaking medical community is so afraid to treat pain that they will put you on something that makes you gain weight from breathing (Lyrica) and then make it your fault that you gained 100lbs since they put you on it. Took 5 years to lose ot last time, and I could move with waaaay less pain. Back then, a neoprene knee brace and decent shoes and I could walk 5 miles. Now 50 feet hurts... I am just feeling dissalusioned about life. Why can't I be the plucky heroin from the story and overcome the evil villians and sail away on my plundered space ship to live my life in zero G. Because gravity hurts....don't get me started on the lack of med bay and Bones's handy dandy scanner wand that could fix death. And here is a crochet critter for tax.

Started this project back in November before I had safety eyes but now my rainbow of dragons is finally complete!! I wanted each dragon to stay monochrome to its own colour rather than having different coloured wings (except black and white)

Soooo, I made a booboo. I accidentally made the skull shell size small instead of the large. I thought I had enough of this yarn left to make up the large version, based on the pattern yardage, but nope, I ran out before doing the skull. Thus, the shell received beetlejuice black stripes instead and I’ll also make up a small snail for the other shell.

It’s finally done!!!….again but smaller!!

I made an Angel wing blanket shawl for my sister and just for shits and giggles I decided to crochet another (much smaller) one as a wedding gift and it’s finally done.

Who hasn’t dreamed of their own wings?

I can’t believe they’re done, and I made them! I bought this crochet pattern by Crafty Intentions on Etsy a year ago because I stumbled across it and wanted my own wing shawl so badly!

Only one problem: I didn’t know how to crochet.

And so the PDF sat in my inbox for an entire year.

Then, earlier this summer I finally got around to teaching myself the basics of crochet and how to read a pattern.

This is my second crochet project following a pattern 😬 - that’s what hyper focus and a dream will do for you!

I used a wool and acrylic blend, worsted weight yarn in three different shades of brown.

This pattern was fantastic. Each feather felt like an accomplishment, and everything was so well explained, it came together just naturally. All in I think it took around 50 hours over 3 weeks.

The wings are over 6’ long! And the bottom two rows of feathers are bordered with single crochet in the color of the row above it. I didn’t border the top row.

I love how they came out, it’s wonderfully heavy and I feel like some sort of great owl witch in it which is a vibe I can get behind.
