So I recieved a gift from a friend today. It's a late birthday present from last month, I love them! The book on the right has so many components in it, basically you create custom characters whereas the book on the left is specific creatures. Now I need to go through them properly and decide what I want to make and when.

I thrifted that pretty aida fabric and had it sitting around, and when I bought that Pokémon cross-stitch book and saw Leafeon, I knew what had to be done.

Reading this right now and finding it super helpful! The author actually explains why certain structures/guidelines work for the reader, so you're not left painting by the numbers while still wondering if you're doing the right thing.

today I learned about "thumb book holders" in my search for ways to read giant fantasy paperbacks without injuring myself, and then I realized I could make one out of the 20-year-old polymer clay that I had lying around... so I did. and god DAMN it's more effective than I ever expected, so I thought everyone should know about them. You can get really cheap mass-produced ones but this was fun to make and I'll probably make more ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
