But I ultimately might would go for the house#JUST becuase it would be my Dream House which means it would already meet mostly all of my specifications#and what I might be looking for. which would save a lot of time searching or customizing/rennovating.#Also because I could use that as a way to leave the US lol.. like .. if I get to choose my dream location.. couldnt I just choose some othe#country?? But I wonder how that works. Can you legally 100% have full ownership of a property in a country yet not be a citizen of that#country?? Would you show up and be like 'erm.. i own this house.. so i shall now live in it' and theyd be like 'uh no. you cant live here#despite owning the house. leave.' ??#So I think the initial process of 1. scraping together funds to actually MOVE myself and my most valuable belongings physically#TO another country. and 2. figuring out how to STAY in that country . might end up being difficult.. BUT. if I could just work that#part of things out then.. dream house?? security for once in my life?? stability?? :0#Though the $1mil is enticing it's also like.. I feel .. with the way housing prices are now... that's not much???#it's a lot I guess if you plan on like.. investing half the money and staying in an apartment for 5 years while you grow your wealth#or something. but if you're a 'I Need Stability NOW' ready to settle down person who would be most interested in owning a property rather#than nice clothes or a car or whatever other investments you could make then.. eh..?? It seems like unless you're okay with living in#a small town or kind of far away from the city - even some SMALL houses in majorly populated areas in the US will be like#$600.000 - $900.000 or something. like that would be MOST of my money. Which I know you could just pay partially and make#payments on it but idk.. in the option of just outright owning the house it seems like it'd end up being cheaper.#Plus I would want to own it fully asap because I'd be afraid of losing it somehow otherwise. like it being taken for medical bills or#something. which I thought was supposed to be - not IMPOSSIBLE - slightly more complicated legally if you actually have#paid off the house in full. I guess the issue then would be utilities and property tax and such. But I feel like thats overcome-able??#Like I could just stipulate that my Dream House has a little furnished addition or something and then find someone#with money and be like 'Look you can live in this extremely nice area with amazing ameneties and updated everything and ALL you have#to do is give me money to cover the utilities and property tax.'' or something like that. Like the little furnished addition is nicer#than the actual house. they have their own pool and spa and movie room or something and Ill also cook all their meals for them#or whatever (how luxurious it would be depeneds on how high the property tax actually is/how much I would need to entice them into#why it's a good deal for them to pay it for me lol). idk... something like that.. ANYWAY#I asked a few people I know though and one of them answered they'd rather have a romantic partner. the other one said they'd like#to be able to choose someone to die lol.. So I'm curious what people value the most

(I always feel hesitant when drawing fanart on paper, but I've been feeling such a strong pull towards traditional art lately (as you can guess, I tried and couldn't bring myself to work on this comic digitally), so I want to see if a switch from digital fanart to traditional is possible and worth if for me).

Books of 2025: BLACKFISH CITY by Sam J. Miller.
Finished this last night! The jacket copy starts, "When a strange new visitor arrives in a floating city in the Arctic--humanity's last hope after the ravage of climate change--the city is entranced. She's riding an orca and has a polar bear at her beck and call," and, honestly, I'm sold (love a good floating city!).
I adored the setting and the worldbuilding--supremely cool city that was thoughtfully developed--and I loved how the narrative came together at the end. All the POV characters felt distinct (thank heck, because there were Many of them), and I had a fun time figuring out how to piece all the relationships together and percolating on The Science. Overall had a great time!

please excuse me while i ponder bunnyville's political system. mostly based on me just having watched raucous caucus.
i'm fully of the belief that the mayor of bunnyville is just a ceremonial position put in to keep the public from rioting. especially considering there isn't any legislature (that we're shown anyway) and decisions are CLEARLY made without any oversight (see community service and charity).
there's elements of democracy there (like the punishment referendum in community service) but at the end of the day secretary octopus is the one who's in control until she resigns or dies or something like that. also if i were secretary octopus i'd think twice about handing power to modchi idk
also do candidates just REGISTER to run for mayor without needing signatures or anything like that?? political participation must be really low for there only to be 3 candidates
more on this - are political parties banned or do they just not exist? because all 3 candidates in the race ran as independents (probably). perhaps there's a sole legal state party that controls everything we just don't see. maybe mayoral candidates just aren't allowed to have any political affiliation. but tbf in such an image-dominated culture the lack of parties in the mayoral election kinda makes sense.

Birthmas manga and merch haul
#prince's talk tag#this was the stuff I bought when I went to the city two days ago for my bday#it was a great day i bought so much b.l. and s.tar r.ail stuff#i did make a mistake on my part bc usually i buy one shots#bc i know its only one book instead of having to worry about an unknown number of volumes#i dont always follow this but i try to stick to one shots when buying b.l.#but with one of them i think i was really into the blurb that i failed to see the 1 on the cover indicating therell be more#eeh its fine if i like ill just collect it#but the other ones i read the blurbs and went 'oooo interesting! add to cart' and then physically put it in my shopping basket#the light novel tho that was intentional i love that series and i wanna see how sayaka's middle relationship played out#bc it did not end pretty from what we learned from the main series#i do have to finish it im up to vol 6#the p.r.s.k. book i was not expecting to see at kino like i didnt know it existed. but its p.r.s.k. so ofc i bought it#and now the merch. kino had a table and wall dedicated to ge.npa.ct and s.tar r.ail (more the former than the latter)#but i went ham on the s.tar r.ail stuff when i saw faves 2 and 3 (they only had up to xi.anzh.ou characters‚ no pe.nac.ony)#but that was ok i bought what i saw#and they even had bookmark sized boards of the aeons so i got my faves#the cards in the last pic came in a box and at first i thought they were blind boxes so i bought two but both had the same cards in them#so imma give one to my cousin and kept one for myself#this was the only way pen.aco.ny characters were available and look its my number one fave!! hes going in my photocard book#so while i don't play ge.nsh.in anymore i do like the characters and the lore#and i like Alh.ait.ham so when i saw something with him on it and it was the last one they had i bought it#its a keychain and a standee so i have him sitting on my desk rn#and then i saw only one instance of mi.lgr.am merch in the form of those keychains so i bought two with expressions i like#they didnt gave 02‚ 03 or 04 tho i was curious what they looked like

I have gone to Cotlliure and sent the legend himself your regards as best I could!
+ bonus pictures of the walk to the cemetery and back to town because there was lots of interesting nature and views
#it was a bit awkward because it's still a fairly active and out-of-the-way cemetery so there were people there visiting their relatives#and i was fairly obviously Not From There so i didn't want to take too many pictures or be obnoxious#meanwhile machado's grave in the city center was covered in republicanas and no one would have blinked an eye if i went in there#but yeah. also my data wasn't working so i couldn't find his house and i forgot to visit his desk at the cultural center :(#overall still really interesting though and bonus went by all the places in ship of the line (llançà port vendres etc) on the train#it was also weirdly emotional being there. just kind of chilled for a while and felt for a moment like i was staring into his world#the views of the sea were incredible and the nature was lovely too. definitely An Experience#aubreyad#perce rambles#catalunya nord#The Creative Endeavor and other aubreyad nonsense

the way that dc variant covers have bewitched me body & soul
#especially for books in the absolute line like hot damn#i got the titans incentive variant with starfire on it that fatima wajid who started as a fanartist on here did#and i think that’s what broke me#it’s a good thing i like the main covers for batgirl & two-face#save some money where i can#my one saving grace besides that is i’m not all that into foil variants#some of them are nice but usually i can take it or leave it#(says the guy who literally got one for absolute flash the other week)#i also have this one from the 2024 gotham city sirens mini#it’s not a typical foil finish over the whole thing#instead it’s streaks that go across with a holographic effect#reminds me of the old foil covers when they just started doing them & would only do it over like the title of the book#i used to read a ton of digital comics & i still do for older stuff#but for new releases it’s been really nice having something to hold in my hands#i fell off staying current with more than like 2 or 3 books for a while#but dc’s been coming out with a lot of new stuff lately#i think all in’s been really good for them#going back to variant covers#i may keep blowing my monthly budget#but hey these pieces of paper with the fun drawings on them make me happy
